Starring: Nicholas Cage and Ron Perlman
Directed by: Dominic Sena

Out of all of the movies Nicholas has starred in in 2011 (Season of the Witch, Drive Angry, Trespass, Seeking Justice) This one was my downright favorite...

Personally I felt that Trespass and Drive Angry were both failures and that the upcoming Seeking Justice will soon be a failure as well...

In this movie Actor Nicholas Cage plays Behman of Bleibruck, a soldier who fought in the Crusades but realized that the work done there was not of God but of the Church. He and his partner Felson (Ron Perlman) travel home to their hometown where they discover it has been ravaged by the Plague. The elders blame it on a girl they claim to be a witch to which the elders order Felson, Behman, Debelzaq a young priest, and Eckhart to transport the girl to a monastery where a ritual will be performed to kill the witch. The men agree reluctantly but their journey is not without problems. They will soon realize that this witch is more than she lets on, and must transport her to the designated place while fighting back summons of her evil magic.

I don't feel this movie got the credit it deserved... The acting was superb first of all with Nicholas Cage and Ron Perlman selling the old "Partners" gimmick that had long since died out... Stephen Campbell Moore brilliantly portrayed the priest with such that I felt I was traveling back in time... The film astoundingly portrayed the Middle Ages in an amazing fashion that I felt not only gave its appearance of a desolate and dreary place but also of a historically accurate portrayal of a city affected by the Black Plague... The CGI also presented a very interesting view on the demon at the end which I felt was original in its own sense... I also enjoyed Claire Foy's performance as the supposed witch in which she gave eerie facial expressions that left me at the edge of my seat...
To be honest I feel this is one of my favorite movies by Nicholas Cage, and I don't think this movie go the credit it deserved... I rate it a 9/10
