personally they're my favorite band

Wow, didn't think there were other people like that.

From what I've heard, Up in Flames sounds great, but Paradise and Every Teardrop is a Waterfall are way too pop-driven for my taste. Nevertheless, I haven't heard every song so I can't say how the album is, but chances are Parachutes will still be my favorite album by them.

I'd totally disagree on the fact Paradise is pop-driven, it's less poppy then say Viva la Vida, which basically uses four pop chords. At least Paradise uses 8 varied chords.

It's a good subtle change to Coldplay's style, subtle is key here. The album is well-built, meanings of the songs are typical of Coldplay but great nevertheless.

I wouldn't go to the fact that it's their best album, but it's up there. Also, I'm afraid I'm taking a somewhat biased view here because I basically know Chris Martin's daughter, but eh.

I can't wait to purchase that album. Coldplay is my favorite band.
I liked the three songs off of the Every Teardrop is a Waterfall EP and I love Paradise. Though I admit I am a little nervous about Rihanna appearing in one song. Just because I'm not exactly a fan. Up in Flames and Charlie Brown also sound like great songs.

The song featuring Rihanna wasn't too bad. But it has a ridiculous amount of reverb.

Ehh. More hit and miss than Viva la Vida was. However, what was good was amazing. Charlie Brown is by far the best song on the album imho, with Up in Flames and Paradise not far behind. Princess of China (the Rihanna one) and Us Against the World though were absolutely cringeworthy - the former felt amateur while the latter was too whiny.
I thought the first 2 songs, Mylo Xyloto & Hurts Like Heaven are the best if played back to back, but Charlie Brown has been creeping up there every time I listen to it.

For the Paradise and RoBttH folk: you'll like Us Against the World, U.F.O., Up in Flames, and Up With the Birds more than the other ones. I felt like Coldplay really mixed up a lot of their styles in this album and it came off great.
