Careless Whisper
...The savage smashed the two dead bodies onto the table...-"EAT UP YOU DAMN MUTS!!!" he barked at his company which was waiting for him in the sewers. They instantly lunged at the two dead bodies and feasted on the flesh, in minutes the carcasses were stripped bare to bone. The leader of the pack of savages walked out, he wasn't hungry, sense he already ate his dinner in private. He walked back into the outside world and sat on a rock, and sat thinking. Until the Dread Lord walked into his presence...he soon noticed. "What now...?" he barked...
Guest Supreme Gamesmaster
"What do you think?" Lord Dread asked, bemused. "I'm here to tell you about why my minions are so pathetic. You've probably been wondering. And even if you haven't, you'll have to listen anyway. I have something for you that's very related to it. "I'm here to tell you that a number of Wretchsouls have just been created. Stolen from tortured beings that offered themselves to me. Probably linked to the cult that set me free." He smirked before continuing. "The Wretchsouls make use of these." He pulled a scarlet brooch just like the one he'd given to the Kyubbi out of nowhere and tossed it to the lycan. "They multiply inner demonic energies greatly, increasing powers exponentially. They can also call Wretchsouls instantaneously." To demonstrate, he snatched another brooch out of the air and tapped it with his flaming ring finger. What appeared to be an empty black cloak materialized. "They have three times the strength of normal beings," he continued, stroking the cloak of the Wretchsoul affectionately, "they can fire energy blasts from their faces--" he pulled back, allowing the cloak to gather white energy near its face and send it at a nearby rock formation, demolishing it entirely in a colossal explosion -- "and they're invisible. Unfortunately, they have to be wearing something, or they'll cease to exist. "You're probably incredibly bored with me by now, and wondering why I dropped by," the Lord Dread continued. "I might as well tell you. I am assigning you a task: to lead half the Wretchsouls in wreaking complete havoc. And I wouldn't disobey," he added menacingly, "seeing as I can sic all twenty Wretchsouls and myself on you simultaneously. Remember, total devastation is key. I daresay the Kyubbi will find out the function of the brooch soon." He evaporated. Soon, he reappeared, on top of a building in a ghost town. Looking down, he saw a vampire demolishing his peons effortlessly. "Time to test these Wretchsouls," he grinned, tapping his brooch with his ring finger. When the cloaked, invisible figure appeared next to him, he pointed at Nori and growled... "...Destroy him."
Kyub
Kyubbi sat up straight as he felt the power of Lord Dread materialize near him. He looked round. He saw Lord Dread touch a brooch that looked like his own with his demonic energy. He saw what seemed to be an empty cloak appear. He saw Lord Dread order the cloak to destroy the vampire sat on a rooftop near by. He looked at the brooch hanging around his neck. He grinned. "This is going to get very interesting, very soon, I think." He thought to himself as he laid back and watched. "And I'm happy to be a part of it..." Careless Whisper
The lycan looked down at the brooch he had caught in his hand, he smiled malevolently.-"Then I, Sario Ojima, captain of the Hell-Hounds, shall do as you cammand, Dread Master..." And he quickly got up, and howled. He howled so loud that everyone in the entire city was forced to cover their ears in agony. When he stopped howling, his pack came out of the world behind him.-"Hell-Hounds!!! IT'S TIME FOR THE GRAND FEAST!!!!!! GO!!! WREAK AS MUCH HAVOC AND BLOOD SHED TO THE HUMANS AND ANYONE WHO DARES TO HELP THEM!!!!" He rowred to his pack as they all sprinted into the city at full speed howling like mad-men. He laughed meniacly as he watched his pack's rampage, he then joined them in the monstrocity, randomly slashing down innocenent humans in his path at lightning speed and without resistence. He headed for the town center and jumped to the top of the sky-scraper. He held onto the poll with his left arm, and he watched the city being torn to shreds at his orders...He howled an even louder howl than before... Sario was having the time of his life... Guest Supreme Gamesmaster
"Rightfully so, Kyubbi," Lord Dread smirked as it watched his Wretchsoul descend. The brooches were glowing: The demon king had conveniently forgotten to mention that whenever a Wretchsoul claimed a life, its soul was taken to its fortress, the Keremaralen. "Rightfully so," it repeated: the Wretchsoul was gathering white energy...
Careless Whisper
Sario sat on the roof top of the library, which was completely run-down by his army of Lycans, he sat staring at the other half of the city then one of his loyal lycans came to him and bowed, in wolf form.-"Pack leader, we have completely massacred this half of the city, we are now awaiting your orders sir." The lower lycan announced.-"We wait here till next nightfall. Stay on the streets and defend them from any human resistance." Sario ordered, and the lower lycan jumped to the street below. Sario stared calmly at the other half of the city. "Cydonia, I will avenge your memory..." He whispered to himself. Sario did not like turning into his wolf form, he found it more eficient to stay in the human form, and with this brooch he was able to use his lycan power even in this form. -"Heh, didn't even need this thing, but I'll use it on the other half of the city next nightfall." He said to himself, looking at the brooch in his hand. "The dread master wants to raise hell in this pathetic human city, then I'll be glad to do it for him."Sario sat on the roof-top and closed his eyes, he slept sitting against a wall on the roof top. Atleast until he was disturbed by the dread master again...
Guest Supreme Gamesmaster
"I note you haven't used the Wretchsouls yet," Lord Dread said amusedly as he materialized. "You'll want to do so. The hell they can rouse is amazing..." He evaporated again, eager to see the Vampire duel the Wretchsoul prototype.
Careless Whisper
Sario looked at the brooch one more time...Then looked up to the darkened sky.-"This wretchsoul will have it's potentiel next nightfall, no worries Dread Master." And he watched the Dread Lord dissappear, then he looked at the brooch again. "Heh, the only reason why I'm keeping this thing, is because I can use my lycan abilities even in this human form. But I guess I should see what kind of hell this thing can cause, but it'll have to wait till next nightfall, when the second phase of my plan starts, this thing till run through the other half of this bloody city while my lycans take care of any other opposition that this thing doesn't get." And he called out for his right hand man, and he came. "I want you to hide half of our forces in the sewers of the other half of the city, the half we haven't taken yet, when you here the choas up above at next moonrise, send out our legion, I'd preferr them bee at the docks. Now go!!!"-"Yes captain..." and the lycan jumped down.-"These humans will taste the blood that is spilled and then drown in it." He said to himself, then whispered, "I will make them pay for what they did to my parents and my beloved Cydonia..." And he closed his eyes to sleep, while the lycans down below that weren't assigned the new mission were prowling the now empty and blood-stained streets. Guest Supreme Gamesmaster
When it returned to a rooftop far away from the Kyubbi to watch the vampire duel its Wretchsoul, Lord Dread was rather surprised to see a second Wretchsoul there, enviously eying its warbound counterpart. Of course, no one could actually see that, but the impatient air around it was palpable. "Don't worry, I don't expect him to come out alive," the demon king reassured the Wretchsoul, which was now fingering a black pendant on its neck. "No, Loki is just the field test... he is one of many who will find improvements for the other Wretchsouls. And you will receive those improvements before all the others, as our deal indicates." It smirked in satisfaction as the Wretchsoul before him nodded its agreement. "You're the force behind the operation still. "Now, then, if your branch is doing its job, I have plenty of souls to Ascend." The invisible being moved to protest, but Lord Dread cut it off: "On the other hand, this fight will be so interesting... Why don't you watch and decide the future yourself... "...Cydonia?" Kyub
OOC: Where is Windheart? Kyubbi grew impatient waiting for the battle, and decided to test out his own pendant as Lord Dread suggested. He summoned a small part of his demonic energy to his finger then touched the brooch hanging around his neck as Lord Dread had done. He grinned when an empty cloak materialized on the rooftop. "Excellent..." He thought to himself. "I wonder..." He jumped across to Lord Dread's rooftop. "Um, what ARE the limitations of these things?" He asked. OOC: This is assuming you're still there, as you didn't actually leave in your post.
Guest Supreme Gamesmaster
"One flaw I haven't worked out," Lord Dread admitted, "is that the Wretchsoul has to be wearing something at all times. Naked Wretchsouls simply cease to exist. And I haven't been able to figure out why they seem to need to have a living being within fifty metres of them in order to exist. I have to leave now. Let me know what happens." The fiery form was vapourized as Lord Draed made its exit. OOC: I have no idea where Windheart is.
Careless Whisper
Sario still sat there on his roof-top, but this time he was looking down at a different necklace, the necklace that he has worn around his neck for 8 years of his life, never taking it off, not even when he was sleeping. He rubbed his finger on the necklace's crystal shard. It's violet shine reflected the moonlight. A single tear dripped onto the crystal from Sario's left eye. He sat looking sadly at the crystal for several minutes. He then gazed down at the brooch that he tied tightly around his left wrist. -"Cydonia...." he whispered to himself... Kyub
"Hmm, always wearing something, eh?" Kyubbi thought while looking at his summoned Wretchsoul. "Well, that doesn't mean it has to be this cloak, does it now?" Kyubbi rushed into town, dragging the Wretchsoul with him. 5 minutes and a mad dash through the town later... Kyubbi thought he had truly outdone himself with the Wretchsoul's new look. It was the perfect look for a servant of the God of Foxes. The town had been empty, so Kyubbi had just took what he needed. The Wretchsoul had discarded the cloak, and now wore a black bodysuit, a Katana on it's back, various weapons, a vest of chainmail, a fox mask, and to fit the look, fox ears on top.(OOC: Basically, ANBU from Naruto with fox mask and fox ears.) "Almost perfect, now we just need one thing, a name for my servants." Kyubbi said out loud. "How about...'Shiyounin no Kitsune', Yeah, that's about right!"(OOC: "Servants of the Fox" in Japanese, acoording to my translation site.) Satisfied, the Kyubbi sat down, still impatient with the battle's slow start, he noticed the vampire had dissapeared."Just where is this guy?" He thought. Careless Whisper
Sario slept for a long time. Infact he slept the entire day, the humans were obviously very frightened by his army of lycans, which were waiting for his cammand to strike, it was nearly nightfall, and tonight was a full moon. The sun was beginning to set, and on the other side of the city, the powerfull full moon was beginning to rise, just alittle longer before the lycans can bathe in it's cammanding light. Sario sat there with his eyes closed...Waiting for the moonlight to reach him. When the Moonlight hit his eye lids, he stood up, walked to the edge of the roof-top, opened his and stared at his target, the other side of the city. The full moon had risen entirely. He looked down at his lycans in the street, they were all prepared to cause mass chaos again. He looked up at the full moon as it's light flooded the streets, the sunlight behind him dissappeared, and he let out a final howl. He howled so loud that the entire city heard it's powerfull sonic boom. His lycans joined in with him. And then, while Sario kept up his howl, all the lycans sprinted to the other side of the city. Sario stopped howling after a few moments. He looked down at the brooch, he touched it with his finger just like the Dread Lord had showed him, the Wretchsoul appeared perfectly. -"Let's go drown the humans in there own blood." He told the wretchsoul, the thing nodded, and they both leapped down from the roof-top and sprinted into the rest of the city, slashing down poor defenceless humans... Guest Supreme Gamesmaster
"Ah, a fresh bout of souls," Lord Dread smirked when it reached its abode in Keremaralen. "I wonder which ones will become the second version Wretchsouls... Here you are, Cydonia," the fiery fiend acknowledged the Wretchsoul empress. "Your branch is doing well... Oh, you'll get your chance soon enough," it said with some impatience as the dead girl's soul acted angrily. "Now, then, to business. We'll need damascus, obviously, and more of that marvelous red substance you made these brooches out of. What do you suggest we do about it?" Cydonia would have mutely responded, but a fresh wave of captured spirits had come hurtling into the prison cells on the walls. "As we clearly have enough souls," Lord Dread continued, "I suppose we can get the lycanthrope to find some damascus for us. You'll have to use the old vein for the pyrope, I'm afraid, but at least we know it works. And I have been itching to try out this human weapon." It raised an unrecognizable submachine gun into the air. "Allons-y." The demons vanished. ~•~•~ "Having fun?" the flaming monster growled bemusedly at the surprised lycanthrope as it began shooting at everything in sight with the SMG while floating in midair. "I'm afraid this can't last forever. Meet me after you're done massacring everyone — alone — and I'll give you the details. It concerns human deaths and Cydonia," it finished, admiring the effect its words had before toppling a building with its zwiehänder and vanishing. Careless Whisper
The lycan captain agreed to the order...And he continued. After the massacre was over and the lycans vitvorious once again, Sario walked to the darkened and now blood-stained park, to meet with the Dread Lord. While he waited, he sat down against a tree, and gazed at his violet necklace. "He said something about Cydonia...does he know?" he thought to himself. He closed his eyes to reminance in the memories of his beloved. Until the Dread Lord returned...
Guest Supreme Gamesmaster
"Glad you showed up," Lord Dread said pleasantly as he appeared in midair. After shooting a tree for no real reason, it turned to face the lycanthrope, still floating. "I'll let you choose where to start - although it's all really the same information, I'll let you pick the order. Although I assume I know where you want to start, but assumptions can be wrong, even in Ascended beings..."
Careless Whisper
-"First tell me how you come to know about Cydonia, I never told anyone about her...How did you get info about her..." The lycan sounded very angry. His violet lecklace flashed in the moonlight. "You will tell me how you know of her. Because she died 8 years ago. She was murdered by her kind..." The lycan stopped, his expression immediately changed from angry to despressed. "She was murdered by humans." He said quietly...He felt ashamed of himself for opening this information up to a dread master...
Guest Supreme Gamesmaster
"I know Cydonia personally myself..." Lord Dread continued, idly toying with its SMG. "After all, she's my second-in-command. The most powerful Wretchsoul in existence, formed of her own free will. And before you ask, I decided I would be rather cruel: she can only come if I call her. As of now, she is seeking vengeance herself... at a pyrope mine she knows of. We're coming up with ways to make the Wretchsouls more powerful, to utterly destroy humanity. Any questions?" It smirked at the effect of its words.
Careless Whisper
Sario stared at him in serious anger...-"She's a wretchsoul now!!?" he barked at the words... "You turned her into one of those things?" He stared coldly at the dread master, he glanced at the brooch around him left wrist, then he untied the brooch and threw it onto the ground. "Knowing that my Cydonia is now one of those things is a complete disgust. You disgraced her memory, how dare you do that to her...When she was alive...." He stopped and looked down in despression, 10 seconds later, he snapped his head up. "WHEN SHE WAS ALIVE SHE WAS MY WIFE!!!" Cold tears ran down Sario's angered face. He stared directly into the dread lord's eyes.
Guest Supreme Gamesmaster
"Correction," Lord Dread interrupted, completely unfazed. "She turned herself into a Wretchsoul. She came up with the Wretchsoul plan in the first place. She wanted vengeance, and a second chance of life. The Wretchsoul is the first step towards immortality..." Careless Whisper
"Vengeance for what?" Sario did his own interruption. "She had no grudge, you don't know her as well as I do, Cydonia would never hold a grudge. Take me to her, I need to speak to her myself..." Sario was furious. OOC: I do the talking for Cydonia...sense she's a character that I made...
Guest Supreme Gamesmaster
"I could... but you really need to let me explain," Lord Dread continued. "It's really rather a genius concept. See, murder is a horrific event -- an act of such unspeakable evil -- that most murdered souls are driven mad. Those that aren't are scarred for eternity. The latter was the case for Cydonia. "When I first met her, she was awaiting Judgment. She hated it. The evil that had been wrought upon her was so powerful, she told me... she'd do anything to end it. She told me of Earth... it was a veritable gold mine of vile souls, waiting for power, and of good souls, who deserved it. She said she wanted a second chance at life, more to be with you than to help me. That was about at the time I took you into my service... naturally, the plan was perfect. We came up with a brilliant plan for Ascencion... one that would allow you and her to coexist for eternity. "See, full Ascencion is to be a veritable god. It's the highest of the high. So we figured that in order to get there, you'd have to start as the lowest of the low: a Wretchsoul. As it turns out, we were right. Wretchsouls are such vile beings, robbed of voice and touch, that they, by nature, constantly climb the ladder of Ascencion in order to cure it. A dark metal called damascus speeds this process, as does your mineral pyrope. Eventually, a Wretchsoul would become a living being, but the process of Ascencion would continue... on to a spirit, to an immortal, to a being not dissimilar to myself, to demigod levels. Her plan was to get both herself and you to immortality, though the first step is life... Her supply of pyrope will determine how long it is before she breathes again, which she will if she survives as a Wretchsoul. Understand?"
Careless Whisper
Sario stood there, looking down at his feet..."Cydonia, she's doing it for me." Sario fell to his knees. "Take me to her, I need to talk to her. I wish to resign as Captain of the Lycans. I put my second in cammand to captain, and I wish to stay with my beloved Cydonia." He sat there on his knees, the violet crystal around his neck began to glow in the moonlight even more.
Guest Supreme Gamesmaster
Lord Dread didn't actually react to this. Instead, he said simply, "If you wish to stay with her, I highly advise doing so while she is still a Wretchsoul. It could be... dangerous, to say the least. Pyrope doesn't speed up the process of Ascencion nearly as much as damascus does. Find some, and she'll be alive again in your lifetime. If not, I fear her decision will have been in vain... Traces of the mineral have been found here." He tossed a map of Earth to Sario, which had a red X marked on a spot in Germany. "I advise you search there: with damascus, where it is, there's a lot of it. Good luck..." He vanished.
