Ranger ϟ Henshin "To rescue and protect"

Finally up.

"We have to de-morph!" Wait, wat?

That was some weak editing. Like, MMPR season 3 editing. When Xandred guts the Battlewing Megazord, it's clearly the Samurai Megazord.

The Nighloks are probably the worst villains in the show's history. Every Xandred scene is a bathroom break, the only interesting thing about Deker was that his human form is Cole Evans, the squid guy is Finster minus the charm, I could never get into Dayu's subplots. A lot of this I blame on the writers following Shinkenger too much (the Gedoushu are just as lame.)

RPM raised the bar from SPD (which raised it from Time Force,) and Samurai landed way beneath it. Samurai suffers from being too much like it's source material in all the wrong areas. The problem with the Sentais nowadays are that they're too factory-line. The fillers get boring fast, the villains are generic and have subplots, if any, of little interest (mainly in post-90's Sentai,) and the finales are generally blah. Samurai hits all these points, and that's a bad thing.

Also,

Bulk was horribly used in this season. It was a bathroom break like the Xandred scenes, the jokes were unfunny, and the loud background music chosen over the original Bulk and Skull theme made it even worse.

Which brings me to another point. A staple in Power Rangers is great music. Since MMPR, background music has set the mood of each scene (like most TV shows do,) be it that quiet MMPR tune in the juice bar, the DUN-DUN-DUN-DUN in Rita's palace, or a Ron Wasserman piece during a Putty Patrol fight. In Samurai, the background music always seems to be competing with the foreground. It's loud, obnoxious, and rarely tries to set a mood that isn't action during a Mooger fight, or loud suspense during a Nighlok scene. This really became a problem near the finale where Jayden, losing his leadership and path in life, goes up against Deker because he has nothing left. So, to set this depressing atmosphere, they use loud guitars and generic, hokey music that's used in nearly every other scene besides the aforementioned.

The music in Samurai is plain awful, and I emphasize "plain."

Apparently, Megaforce is supposed to have the exact same setup as the pre-Space seasons with a Zordon and Alpha BOTH from Goseiger footage. I really hope they realize their mistakes with Samurai and not miss what made MMPR good.

Saban tried fixing it during the season, but replacing the cast isn't the way to go if the battle scenes are still going to be goofy. In Space was such a big succsess since they gave it everything they got since they thought it would be their last season.

UPDATED 12/6/12 9:43 AM EST
Jyuden Sentai Kyoryuger is the 2013 sentai. It is said former Power Ranger Executive Producer and Stunt Coordinator and Gokaiger stunt coordinator Koichi Sokomoto will be one of the main directors. Riku Sanjo (who wrote for Kamen Rider Double and Fourze) is to be the head writer for Kyoryuger, he never wrote for Sentai before. I incorrectly thought we would get something by the 1st of December, having been spoiled last year by early bird stuff. Maybe Toei didn't plan an announcement that early because it was a weekend, usually their announcements hit before Saturday. December 6th is when the toy catalog comes out. Many fans have commented on this being the THIRD sentai to have Dinosaurs as a theme but it is not the first to repeat a theme, maybe it is the first one to repeat a theme a third specific non-vague theme. Dinosaurs and locomotives are fairly popular with kids so it is a gimme.

- Five Colors: Red, Blue, Green, Black and Pink
- Second time since Changeman there is no Yellow
- Red: Tyrannosaurus, Pink: Triceratops, Black: Parasaur, Green: Stegosaurus and Blue (still debated if Pterdactyl or Velociraptor)
- GabuTyra (Tyrannosaurus), Stegocchi (Stegosaurus), and Torikera (Triceratops) gattai into Kyoryuujin, the main robo.
- Parasgan (Parasaur) and Zactyl (either Pteradactyl or Velociraptor) are replacement parts for the main robo.
- They have batteries (JuuDenchi) they insert in stuff like Goseiger's cards, Gokaiger's keys, etc.It plays Samba music when inserted.
- Their main robo may or may not look like a train
- Return to Spandex, Go-Busters this year was leather
- Pink is the lone female, which hasn't happened in a series that started with 5 since Gaoranger. Lone Pink females haven't happened since Timeranger.
-JyuuDenChi are where the Dinosaur souls are stored, they are the batteries.
- Their henshin item is the GaburiVolver (Gaburi means 'to bite' and Volver is possibly from Revolver). The JyuuDenChi is a set in the "Gaburinchou' and henshin is carried out with sambo sound.

I have to say that I am a little disappointed that the pictures aren't clearer. We got clearer pics of Go-Busters last year by this time. It seems Toei is keeping this one under tight wraps. The blurriness of the pic threw me off but now I've gotten used to it. I've hear "Retro" thrown around and it is true, I does look a bit of a throwback. I like how the black of the visor wraps around the mouthpiece. And not being a huge fan of yellow, I'm liking the color lineup, it's different. But my 3-year old grand nephew would had liked a male Yellow. I showed him them and he stuck a Yellow Ranger in my eye.

No Yellow Ranger will be in the next season. :(

Also Pink is the only girl. That hasen't happened since the 90's. Weird...

THe outfits remind me of a mix between Overdrive and Lost Galaxy. Also from the looks of it no skirt on Pink.

You're right about how the suits look, but they seem to look more like a multi-colored Kamen Rider team, as a stunt coordinator from Gokaiger is going to be the director, and that a writer for previous Kamen Rider seasons will be writing this. So, we can expect a much darker storyline than what was given to us, I hope. What I hate is that there is no resemblance or tribute to that of the Zyuranger outfits, which sucks. It would have made sense that the Kyoryugers would be descended from the Zyurangers just by the name. Though, the trend of 3 mecha forming the main robo like Go-Onger kinda turns things a bit off for me. Just saying.

Though I wonder, will red, blue and green start off the series, or will it be red, blue and pink? The latter would definately be something different in the beginning of a Super Sentai season. But, it would possibly be as dark as a season of Kamen Rider, which might be good or bad for the children viewers.

Judging from the mech it looks like the season might start off with Red, Green, and Pink adding Black and Blue later on. Which is new.

A Kamen Rider writer? (Explains the one girl*shot*) That's intereasting, but honestly Sentai has always had rather dark plots, compared to Power Rangers at least. Another season with a plot as serious and Timeranger or Jetman would be cool.

Think Saban will pull out their old tricks and make Blue a girl? :P

I doesn't look like it. KyoryuBlue looks a lot like BoukenBlue (Helmet-wise).

Kamen Rider is known for its storylines to be much darker thanits younger brother Super Sentai. Timeranger was as dark as it was gonna get. It was close enough to almost be considered as dark as an average Kamen Rider show. Who knows, it might be even darker than Timeranger. My guess it'll have a similar storyline with KyoryuRed becoming the villain to achieve his dreams (Just like Decade in the All Riders vs DaiShocker movie), and then returning to the good side when his power is overrun by an evil ranger. Now the one question that BEGS to be asked.

Will it be possible that this Sentai will be like GoGoFive (Having 5 official members of the team, and nothing more)? Because if there is no sixth (Or possibly seventh like GoOnger) ranger, than things aren't as fun in Super Sentai.

Those shoulder pads look awesome.

Oh God, it looks like they're doing the annoying noises on their morphers like Masked Rider from now on. WHY? What's wrong with just pulling out the morpher, saying the voice command, then flipping it open?

It's not exactly from a specific season, but more like a tribute song.

Just by the look of the characters, I think some of the male roles are switched, in a sense. I can tell that KyoryuRed will be the arrogant, unworthy leader, in a sense. KyoryuGreen seems to possibly be either the Hyde or Takeru of the team, but with believing he wants to call the shots. KyoryuBlack (OR Blue, I can't tell because of the Sepia color) looks like the bad boy of the team, while KyoryuBlue (Or Black) looks like the carefree, partying member of the team with a troubled past. KyoryuPink, I can't be sure. She could be the shy girl, or the beat-around-the-bush girl of the team. I guess we'll see how these character's personalities will turn out. :/

Lovely, calm down. If you go crazy because of this, what will that accomplish? Just try to relax, take deep breaths, and you'll be fine. You shouldn't worry if Pink has a skirt or not. Making a big deal out of such a small thing is just ridiculous. So, take a deep breath, and get back to me when you're calm again.

I'm calm (no I'm not).

Anyway with the way Samurai ended up being another less than stellar Nick show it makes me worry Megaforce will be the same. It makes me worry more that Megaforce is going to be the mother of all Power Ranger anniversaries and something like this should at least have some good acting. Samurai failed horribly when it came to the Rangers' acting. For example Mia only ever delivered one line that was actually believable. If past Rangers come back (Like Kimberly, Jason, Tommy, or even Taylor) I wont worry about them since I know they are good actors. It's the main cast that has me growing grey hair.

I color coded it to make conversations about the cast easier.

The last episode of Ghost Busters had a teaser for the upcomming Dino Ranger season.

I like Pink's pose. It's all like YA!

Another Dino Thunder series xD

Eh at least looks a bit better...

It strange Pink is in the "Main Three" (The three that get all the power-ups and that kind of thing). I can tell just becuase of the mech. It's ALWAYS 3 guys that get all the cool wepons stuff and the girls (and ocassionally guys) are left with nothing.
