Wahrheit
Discuss it. I'm really frakking tired of people starting topics with those two words and a random title expecting to get away with it. It's a stupid attention whore policy and a higher standard of quality should be taken, at least sometimes. Please, for the love of Optimus Prime.

Catterjune
There would never be a rule against it. I know what you mean though. People open up a dictionary to a random page, close their eyes and point and then make a topic about whatever their finger landed on. "Sausages" "Discuss sausages" Like seriously, why do you expect people to respond to a topic with absolutely no thought/discussion inducing qualities? You provided no background, no plot or storyline as to what you are discussing. Why should we care enough to post when obviously you don't care enough to create a decent topic that will divulge into a discussion, instead you post a tidbit of information or prompt and expect everyone to just jump right in? If I were the mod of general, stuff like that would get modded for spam like other '+1 post count' posts. In any case, just make smart, intelligent discussion topics, like announcing news or giving decent, deep-ish questions , all the while ignoring shit like "Discuss waffles!" or whatever stupid idiots do. Tentacruel
Awww, you guys mad? Just because I don't load down the OP with crap that will only distract from the actual topic doesn't mean I'm whoring for attention.
Catterjune
There's a distinct difference between spamming one word posts and "loading an OP with crap that will distract from the actual topic". Tentacruel
Not of my 1-2 word topics have ever actually wound up collecting spam. I just prefer to let someone else get the topic going and then I can jump in later.

MarbleZone
They're usually warned unless I miss them. Haven't been able to invest as much time as needed here lately, but Pika, "if you were mod of general" doesn't really make sense when you're in Damage Control; by that logic I wouldn't have banned however-many Ser alts I did while you were away. If you feel a warning is necessary in General and I'm not around to issue it, please go ahead and do it. As stated though, there's no need for a dedicated rule; 1-word-posts and variants are already spam. At any rate, thanks for bringing it up Wahrheit. I wouldn't want to undermine your authority there, is what I'm trying to say. I'm not trying to be a caddy bitch here like I usually am. >_> Though if I have your permission, I suppose I'll keep that in mind. I think there was a World War going on around that time. The number? It's even, so it probably has other factors. A movie or book with the title 1942? I dunno, maybe it exists. Just, with no guide or direction or something, "discuss [blank]" topics are just stupid spamfests.
