Sorry, Protoman.
Eh...BN Colonel could give him a run for his money. None of the Proto incarnations are nearly as badass though, I can agree with that. Bly included. Nu-Mou Knight
From what I understand, he was to be a mixture of the two. As in being a sort of rival, since he does challenge you but also visibly works with you, and having an affinity for swords as did Proto.EXE, but having a dark personality and being all gloomy and power-hungry like Bass. Toffee.
To be honest, I have nothing against the Zero series. Its a good challenge, its just... Unless you S-Rank a stage, they basically tell you to go kill yourself because you failed the stage, even though you rescued all the hostages and killed the boss, but they don't give you the EX Skill. ITS A MEGAMAN GAME, DAMN IT! I'M SUPPOSED TO GET A SHINY NEW ABILITY FOR BEATING A STAGE-BOSS! ..... I should replay Zero 4, cuz' I actually own the GBA version of it, and have played it for quite a bit. Plus, it was the easiest of the Zero games, TBH. Shradow
I've never played any of the X games, are they all (sans Command Mission) just 2d sidescrollers? ... All this talk makes me want to play Command Mission again...
I can't be 100% sure, but I think they all are. 7 or 8 may have been 3D though, I seem to remember a let's play of whichever introduced Axl being a bit more than side-scrolling. *is too lazy to look it up*
Its a good challenge, its just... The abilities aren't all that impressive either, honestly. Of every one in 3 (since I've played it most recently), I'd say I only commonly used the skewer dash, 1000 Jab with the Recoil Rod, Rising Slash, and maybe the Sword Dive for boss-split runs. (ending every boss battle with a sword attack for the sliced-in-half animation)
Toffee.
Oh how I love the Slice-in-half animation. X through X6 are side-scrollers. X7 was 3D, for the most part. X8 was less 3D levels, more side-scroller levels, but X8 was fantastic.
DSS
What was cool about the "Zero" series is that once you killed a enemy with the sword oil would splatter as you cut them in half just as if it was real blood. But the US version sucked since they kinda removed that feature because americans a a bunch of bastards

Zero was running through the desert area of MMZ1 slicing stuff up, and everything bled.

Toffee.
I like how Vulturon's stage was harder then I remember. Regardless, I now can A-Trans into Aeolus, Queen Bee, and Vulturon.

Oh, and I'm right about to play [s]Wheel Gator[/s]Bifrost's stage. Considering Bifrost has always had such an awesome stage, and is a personal favorite of mine in ZXA. Maybe I should have played on Hard Mode, as I REALLY overestimated Normal Mode's difficulty.

Can't argue with that. It doesn't hurt that he came along during the X series either.

Greiga
Zero is the Megaman version of Sephirofl. They're both awesome and mysterious and all that, but they are definitely not the best in their series/universe/whatever. My favorite series wass Starforce, because killing people and watching people ragequit to my Crimson Dragon/AcidAceB was so much fun. Plus, the secret AcidAceBB and GraveJokerRR battles were awesome in that you were never prepared for them.

Greiga
Speaking of Classic, I'm currently playing MM1, 2, and 3 at the same time. Of course, I'm using saves, because PSP download, but japanese versions are harder so it balances out. Doc Man sucks. MM1's Wily Castle sucks. MM2 Castle bosses suck. Shradow
BN is my favorite, there's just so much emotion and development alongside action and humor. The mechanics such as the various forms in the game were cool, and I liked the battle system a lot. EDIT: Mega Man Classic...
