[spoiler=Backstory]A not very long time ago, on earth, I decided to try my hand at making video game reviews. That's about it.[/spoiler]

[spoiler=1 - Cthulhu Saves the World + Breath of Death VII Combo Pack]

Platforms: PC (steam), XBLA

What do you get when you cross the Cthulhu Mythos, Role Playing Games, Indie Game Studios, Steam, and 3 dollars? None other then the wonderful Ye Olde-throwback RPG that is Cthulhu Saves the World. ....oh, and Breath of Death VII. That too. For the sake of review, I'll only be covering CStW. Most everything applies to BoDVII, as well.

STORY

You, Cthulhu, rise from the sea to destroy the world. However, some generic wizard/sorcerer/mage/thing seals away your powers. In a rather hilarious forth-wall breaking moment, Cthulhu learns that the only way to restore his powers is to become a true hero. It's meant to be silly, and it does that job a little too well.

GRAPHICS

Imagine SNES/Super Famicom Final Fantasy games. Not great, but not horrible.

MUSIC

Probably the strongest aspect of the game is not it's turn-based-combat (TBC), but it's music. It does it's job amazingly, most of the music sets the mood perfectly.

FUN

A very fun game, but has some fairly tough bosses every now and again, as well as having a slight lack of linearity.

Yes, you heard me. Three dollars. You pretty much need to own these games.

UNLOCKABLE CONTENT

In edition to a sprite gallery, you can unlock a special mode that allows you to play trough the game with a new storyline, and new characters.

OVERALL
8.5/10
A fun game trough and trough, while it could use some polish, it does it's job of being a parody RPG that anyone can enjoy. Did I mention that it's three bucks?
