Moving on from simple counterparts of well-known staples, this is now trying add some depth to what might turn out to be a lengthy project.

[b]Effect:[/b] Cannot be Special Summoned. During the End Phase of the turn that this card is Normal Summoned or flipped face-up: Return it to its owner's hand. After this card has been Normal Summoned: You can send 2 Spirit Monsters from your hand or side of the field to the Graveyard; Place this card on the field (from your hand or Graveyard). When this card is Summoned or placed on the field: Send all the cards in your opponent's hand to the Graveyard.

[b]Effect:[/b] This turn, when you Summon a Spirit Monster: You can treat that Summon as placing it on the field instead.

[b]Effect:[/b] When a Spirit Monster's effect activates when it is Normal Summoned or flipped face-up, and your opponent activates a card effect in response: Negate the activation of that effect, and send it to the Graveyard. If this face-down card is destroyed and sent to the Graveyard: You can place 1 Level 4 or lower Spirit Monster on the field (from your hand).[/center][/center]

It's not the same. In the same way 'Returning' a card to the field is not the same as Special Summoning it.

Because it wasn't Summoned, its final effect does not trigger; on the pay-off that a lot of current Spirit Monsters have Summon Effects, so won't be able to activate them either.
