Charmeleon shielded his eyes from the sheer brightness of the super charged spark attack. Charmeleon was able, however, to deal with it, and thrust his claw straight forward into the Spark using Shinx, when the the two collided, the blue electricity mixed with the red, pink, orange, green, purple, and everything else, creating a strange rainbowy glow. This glow developed into a type of orb, which expanded and shined brighter, until it finally exploded, in a mass of colors and fire and electricity. The explosion sent Charmeleon flying back, landing at the edge of his cliff, on his hands and knees, breathing hard. "Alright..." he began, "I... can't fight... anymore... right now" he admitted, breathing every so often, "But tell me... how did... a little shinx... like you... get so... damn... powerful?" he asked.

Once again the door to Mewtwo's throne room was opened up, this time, an Alakazam stepped in. Mewtwo's face lit up instantly, but Ninetails grimaced. When Alakazam noticed Ninetails, he grimaced too. "...Alakazam" Ninetails said, staring at him, "...Ninetails" he replied, staring at her. This staring contest went on for a good 30 seconds before Mewtwo cut in, "I hate to interrupt this... heated debate" he said, "But, Alakazam, it's a pleasure to see you here. With your intellect, you may cut the time it takes for my plan to work into a tenth, nay, a hundredth!" Mewtwo commented, "Thank you, Mewtwo. Now, where can I begin my work?" Alakazam asked, "Down the hall, to the left, up the stairs, down the elevator to the basement floor, up the escalator, through the hall, through the right door, third down, there's a large room, there, you can begin your work" he told him, and with that, Alakazam left.

After he left, Mewtwo turned to Ninetails, "...So what was that about?" he asked, "What?" she replied quickly, "You two seemed hostile twords each other" Mewtwo explained, Ninetails sighed and hung her head, "Well yeah... we have some... History" she told him, saying 'History' bitterly, as if her memories of it were bad.

Shinx decided to keep the Gengar a secret for now. "I warned you! I so totally warned you! I am the strongest Electric-type pokemon I know!" Shinx was out of breath, but happy. "Although.....I dont know where the Dark Pulse came from...eh, I'll figure it out laters." Shinx walked over to the Charmeleon and helped him up. "Can we be super-special-friends now?" Shinx asked innocently. That guy was right, he can be annoying.......God, I had to choose a goddamn SHINX to hide in. But....he is powerful.....I JUST HATE HIS FRICKING PERSONALITY!! ...You know I can hear you right? So shut up. Oops. Ehehehe, sorry. Good. Now SHUT. UP.

"Don't know here the Dark Pulse came from, eh?" Charmeleon repeated, 'Doubt it' he thought silently. Then took a step back in surprise, as Shinx asked if they could be 'Super Special Friends' "Er..." he muttered, 'What is with this kid? One second he's fighting with everything he's got, the next he's asking to be friends!' he thought, "S... sure..." Charmeleon answered, still a little confused. Charmeleon turned and looked off the edge, down at Nincada, "Hey, Nincada! Can you get us something to eat? Maybe some berries? Come on, we're starving up here!" Charmeleon called down to him.

"YAAAAAY! Friendly friend!" Shinx danced around Charmeleon saying 'Friendly friend' over and over, until he heard his stomach growl. "Can you bring me some of those berries too?" Shinx called down to Nincada. Hey, what are you doing? Friends! With your enemy!?!! Hes not an enemy! He's my friend now! *grumbles* Fine. Lalalalala, Friendly friend friends.

'So far, so good,' Nidoran thought to herself. Her interaction with Glaceon had her come out on top with an ally, plus immediate action into identifying what, exactly, had happened to them. That really was the number one question at the moment; what their memories actually WERE was a lesser question to what had made them this way. As far as she could tell, they should have nothing to do with eachother- a Charmeleon and a Glaceon would never live near eachother naturally, and her own species favored heavily mountainous areas rather than islands. Then again, this island did have mountains...

Then again, as island mountains, they were almost certainly going to be volcanic in nature. Mountain spines didn't randomly appear in deep water unless they were fed by some sort of powerful activity, so she fully expected to find lava or at least some signs that the mountain had been, at some point, volcanically active up there. That was the primary reason she wanted the Charmeleon up there- while she wanted the help of the Glaceon, it occurred to her quite quickly that in the environment they were about to enter, she'd be essentially useless. A fire type was what she needed.

She noticed a couple figures by the bottom of the nearby clifface and walked over in order to see them closer- sure enough, one was the Charmeleon, in all his grumpy glory. Among the others she noted a Shinx she was not acquainted with, but that wasn't particularly important.

"Greetings!" she said while smiling and approaching the small group, trying not to come off as too eager.

"Hey now!" Sneeze snarled, giving the meditite a glare that would have done any Arbok proud. Seriously, stealing the ice right from his hand? And people called him rude. Apparently, they didn't look hard enough. "Okay, I know I'm not a prime example of decent behavior around these parts, but really, come one." He hopped out of the tree and faced the guy. Fighting Charmeleon would have to wait. He could take it out on this one instead. That, and he heard the scheming nidoran turn up again. Seriously; first at his neighbours, then at his potential fight. It was like she was stalking him.

"You got a lot of nerve butting in here," he scowled. "Didn't anyone ever teach you to keep out of other people's business?"

Vulpix smiled. "A correct stereotype, to be honest." She said, in response to Rolly's comment on the stereotype.
"Anyway, it's fine. Just next time, I'd like some warning. Unless, of course, it's to save my life or something. That's fine." She chuckled, not expecting anything of the sort to happen in the near future.
She glanced at the water, then back at Rolly. "Anyway, Rolly, the Meditite and Lapras have gone. So, we should probably be on our way to the village, correct?"
Shaking her tails, she walked towards the village.

"I don't trust her." Rolly boldly stated to Solo, out of range of the Vulpix's ears.

"Why do you say that?"

Rolly tapped his green, eye-shadowing cap. "Psychic. Remember?"

"What'd you sense?"

"I'm not completely sure. Some sort of sense of superiority was the basic analysis, but I guess she's got good intentions."

"So why don't you trust her?"

"I dunno, maybe those old fox stories they tell children." Solo stared emptily at his friend as Rolly climbed up on his mane.

"And where exactly did you hear that story?"

Rolly grinned meniacly, "I picked it up along the way."

Solo frowned as he headed to catch up to the Vulpix. Rolly had an unfortunate habit of sneaking into other people's minds and gathering information. It was a habit that was bound to bite him in the ass one of these days. "So what's your name again?"

"Amber!" It was Rolly who answered, to the surprise of the Vulpix. Damn you're one idiot Rolly.

Within minutes of jogging, with a direction savvy Vulpix leading the way, the made it to the village. Rolly jumped off of Absol and took a few steps. "Aw, look at this place, this is so cool. And look" Rolly skipped off to his right, leading Solo and Amber. It took only a few seconds for Rolly to jump into the only part of the town that had snow and begin making a snow angel.

Solo would have face-palmed if he had hands instead of paws. He's still just a child. He's still just a child. Solo tried to console himself on the matter.

Meditite thought nothing of the glare from the Sneasel, obviously not intimidated in the slightest, and instead flicking the chunk of ice in his hand. He wasn't gonna give it back when the Sneasel would only try to chuck it at Charmeleon again.

"Oh, you're not a prime example of decent behaviour, all right!" Meditite scolded, throwing the chunk of ice somewhere behind him while he was at it, "Trying to catch another Pokemon unaware. Well I'm not gonna stand for such an act of lowly cowardice!"

He was more than prepared for a retaliation from Sneasel, of any kind. He was even prepared to fight the cursed Pokemon if he had to. However, there was no way that Meditite would ever let that kind of thing just slide like that. No soiree.

"Wait... what?" Sneeze blinked. Cowardice? Catching Charmeleon unaware? This little guy was off the deep end. Way off. "Look buddy, I think you skipped one too many meals today. Me and flame tail had a deal going on. That chunk was my lun... Actually, why am I arguing with you again?" He said incredulously. He waved dismissively in the air with a half smirk, half snort. "You attacked me. Randomly. Out of the blue. With no probably or believable reason. In my culture, that is legitimate cause for a duel." Now that was an absolute pile of garbodor, but the little twerp didn't know that. No one did. One of the fringe benefits of living in a place were no one had long term memory.

He held his hands, palm up, forming glowing blue balls over them. He smirked at the meditite. "Unless you'd rather withdraw, and forfeit by default, we can settle this little grudge of yours in a battle. Or you could walk away from the guy you challenged for no reason. Your choice chum."

Charmeleon turned his head as he heard somemon greeting them, a Nidoran. Charmeleon put on a light smile. Even though he was still tired and slightly annoyed after the fight, he knew that he at the very least needed to ACT kind to potential meat shields. He waved to the Nidoran, "Hello there" he called weakly. He slowly descended the cliff to meet up with her, "Whatcha need?" he asked, trying to sound a bit upbeat, despite being so worn out... he wasn't succeeding, and almost sounded a bit annoyed.

It had been a few minutes in Mewtwo's throne room since Alakazam had barged in. 'I think this is probably the longest we've gone interrupted, maybe I should try asking him about it again' Ninetails thought, she turned to Mewtwo, "So, Mewtwo, I was saying before, after the human race is wiped out and you don't have anything left to do, maybe we sh-" She began to say before the door started to open again, 'Of for f***s sake!' Ninetails thought bitterly, 'Who could it be THIS time?' Ninetails wondered, and with that, a Conkeldurr stepped through, giant concrete pillars and all. "How could so many pokemon walk in through the castle in such a short time?" Ninetails muttered under her breath, "Is there a massive cue right outside that I missed or something?" she wondered, Conkeldurr put a hand to his ear, "Eh? Wuzzat Missy? I didn't catch that" he asked, "Oh nothing, Old Man, just get your talk with Mewtwo and get it over with" she called back, getting annoyed, Mewtwo gave her a little glare, "Conkeldurr is a little more than an 'Old Man'" Mewtwo told her, "He's one of the strongest people I know, and he's the, excuse my terminology, big brute who'll be a great asset to me later on in the plan" Mewtwo assured her, "Speak up Sonny! I can't 'ear you from back 'ere!" Conkeldurr called, "Oh it's nothing Conkeldurr!" Mewtwo shouted to him, to make sure he heard.

Amber sighed, and pawed the ground again.
"That's probably not a very good idea Rolly." She commented. "If I'm not mistaken, that snow is the home of Glaceon."
She shivered slightly. "That commoner isn't exactly the nicest berry in the bush. I wouldn't really know too much, as fire and ice... We don't go together too well. Not as badly as fire and water, for me, but still..."
She fluffed her tails. "Let's just say I would rather avoid confrontation., despite me having a type advantage. She'd probably be stronger on her home terrain."

Rolly laid still in the snow for a few seconds, looking out with his head tilted back upside down at the hut that Vulpix referred to as Glaceon's home.

"C'mon, Rolly," Solo turned his head to the side to stretch his neck, "There's no sense causing trouble for someone the first second we enter the village.

Rolly sat up, taking Solo's words to heart, but it was Vulpix's that he was answering to. "What do you mean by 'commoner'?" Rolly had sensed the kind of emotions Vulpix held towards them and other Pokémon before, and it was time he questioned her about it.

"Yes, what DO you mean by commoner?" At these words, Vulpix may have felt a sudden drop of temperature along her back, signaling the ice Eon's presence behind her. Glaceon had walked an arbitrary lap around the village, not looking for anything in particular, and just trying to kill some time before she'd meet up with Nidoran and make an excuse for not having any new information. Upon returning to the general area of her snow patch, she was mildly bemused that three Pokemon had gathered there, two she had never seen before, and one she dimly recognized, and it was this one who spoke of her in such a disrespectful manner.

Glaceon's expression carried a slight scowl and she lifted her head self-importantly before adding, "And the phrase is 'sweetest berry on the bush', just thought you'd want to know."

"BRING IT ON!!" Meditite shouted, "I don't back down from any challenge!"

He could see that the Sneasel was prepared to attack. Perhaps he was to expect an Ice-type move from his opponent. Whatever the case, Meditite waited for the attack to be launched. He wasn't going to just rush in there and get hit by something one could see coming from a mile away. He'd never be that reckless. But perhaps he could drive the Sneasel to throw caution to the wind. After all, that's how Meditite usually downed his opponents... when they'd least expect it.

"Oh, and by the way," Meditite said in a matter-of-factly tone, "Everything you just said was a lie."

"Was it, really now?" Sneeze asked in an innocent tone, though he was still smirking as ever. "Here's a fun thing about being a dark type; everyone expects you to be the sneaky underhanded type. Every sentence a lie, every act a ploy, nothing done without ulterior gain. Especially from a sneasel like me. We are all bastards." He clenched his claws, then clapped his hands together over his head, slamming the two blue orbs together, launching the ice shards he was charging high into the air where they sparkled in the sunlight as they rocketed away.

"So we do tell the truth, everyone still thinks it's a lie. And psychic types like you can't uses those pesky abilities read our minds, cause we're immune. It can be annoying every now and again, but that’s only about what, 1 out of 50 times?" As he spoke, the shards reached the apex of their climb and slowed, losing out to gravity, slowly beginning their fall back to earth, and back to the battle field, like jagged chunks of hail. As the first of the shards crashed into the ground, Sneeze made a controled charge, zigging and zagging his way towards meditite, closing the distance between them.

Amber gulped. For a moment, she was absolutely silent, trying not to run and scream.
"Uhhh..." she stammered. Her tails fluffed nervously, and she tried to keep herself from shaking. She closed her eyes, trying to draw her limited courage.
"L-let's just... uhhh... let's say...umm...."
I really need to fix that. Dang . I never was good at thinking of good excuses...
"Well.... uhh... I have an attitude problem?" She muttered finally, trying to keep the stutter out of her words.
She took a very deep breath. "I have a bit of a... issue with addressing others... and I sometimes call others 'commoners' because... well... I think highly of myself, I suppose..."

"Is that so?" Glaceon mused, her tail giving an idle flick. "Yet I wonder what traits about you make you worth that level of pretentious self-importance." Her tone was not angry, just sort of dismissive and lazy, as if she couldn't really be bothered to even insult or intimidate the vixin beyond what her presence and disapproval could relay.

Her eyes flicked towards the other two Pokemon, studying them with mild curiosity, and taking little notice of how the smaller one seemed to be in her snow patch. It would be melting soon anyway.

"So who are these..." she paused, struggling to come up with a term to adequately describe them, then shrugged. "Them."

"It's they, lady." Rolly's stare was very condescending as he sat up in the snow, appropriate considering how lackadaisically hypocritical she'd just been. "Or, how 'bout I one up ya? We're here, right? Why ask 'Who are they?' when you can ask 'Who are you?'" Rolly had been skimming the edges of the Galceon's mind, only feeling out whatever emotions she was feeling. There was a sense of superiority from her, one possibly surpassing even Vulpix's, but mainly, she just wanted to be alone.

Solo picked up on it before Rolly could say anything, and picked him up by his neck and started carrying him away, only stopping to ask the Vulpix, "Would you mind showing us around?" A challenge, considering how much Rolly was struggling to get free.

Shinx saw a Nidoran calling out to him and Charmeleon. He leaned over to Charmeleon and muttered, "Who is that? Is he your friend? Is he nice?" He then sat down and waited for Charmeleon to awnser.....I'm surprised that he has other friends. He seems like such a grumpy-pants all the time! Maybe he is really nice on the inside, and meany-mean on the outside! Like Gengar! Hey, I can hear you too! HAA!! hahaha! Gotcha!

Glaceon stiffened, her ice-needle fur bristling outwards. She was not normally condescended to, least of all by a Pokemon that may as well be a child, and she was already internally kicking herself for even asking such a question in the first place. Her gaze flicked to the psychic type, at first intending to ignore the offense, but the Absol hastening to move away struck a nerve, goading her into action.

"Not so fast," she said, swiftly positioning herself in their path, her gaze upon the petulant psychic type. "First, it is not 'they'," she announced stubbornly. "And you should be glad I even wasted a breath asking in the first place. Secondly, I was talking to her and she knows you. It's a less aggressive transition to ask her about you first, especially considering whose home you were playing in. If I was direct, you'd be thrown on the defensive."

"But let's change tacks, shall we?" she continued, her tone clipped and irritable, although her tail flicked almost cheerfully. "Who are you? Where are you from? Why are you in my home? What do you want? Not so pleasant of an introduction is it?"

Rolly had his arms folded through the entire lecture. If the green visor didn't cover half his eyes, the Glaceon probably would have been ten times as irritated by his eye roll. It wasn't until the last thing she said that he finally got into the mood to talk back. It began with a slight chuckle, "You're asking us where we're from, why we're here, and what we want? That seems like a fairly rhetorical question, why don't you answer those questions yourself?"

Rolly's eyes gleamed under the cap, for in truth, it was a rhetorical question. No one knew where they were from or what they were doing here. It was the only constant in a world where everything was an unknown, even what they all wanted from this world was out of the reach of their own understanding..

Link to comment

"It's not a rhetorical question," Glaceon contradicted firmly. "And I asked you first, so you should answer first. Don't try to dodge my perfectly viable questions by turning the topic around. You're new to this area, so where are you from? Why are you here, in the village, in my snow patch? And what do you want, either from me or the village? None of those are rhetorical, because if they were, I wouldn't need an answer."

Judging from her tone, she was both enjoying the argument and well adapted to challenges and contradictions within discussions.

"Wouldn't you like to know?" Rolly stuck his tongue out. Like hell he was telling her, even if they really did have one. Truth was, they were just roaming, they hadn't really thought about why. It was all instincts. Why they were there specifically in that patch of snow could be explained better, but there was no reason they shouldn't be there anyhow.

Solo was less than impressed by Rolly's antics, sighing disappointedly at the situation, "This conversation is pointless, we have no answers to your questions." Solo stepped around the Glaceon, "So if you'll excuse us.

Nidoran ignored the peanut gallery with poise, grace, and a subtle claw gesture that while unnoticed by the those around her, made her feel better. The charmeleon seemed tired and a little annoyed -not surprising if the sneasel was around- which didn't really work for or against her plans as far as she could see at the moment, but was something to keep in mind.

Now, the charmeleon. Unlike the glaceon, he wasn't so readily predictable... but that mattered rather little. From the look of it, his pride had been injured, thus a little flattery put his way really make him malleable enough to her will that she'd be able to coerce him into helping her easily enough. Besides, if even that wasn't quite enough, a little flirting would probably put him over the edge. Males were, by and by large, a far easier task to work with than females.

"Well Charmeleon, I decided that it'd probably help us all if we could find out what's being hidden from us on those mountains over there. I've gathered a small team, but I'd be hesitant to go without the strongest pokemon here with us..."

Okay, maybe she was laying it on a little thicker than usual, but sometimes subtly was overrated. Plus, she had faith in her ability to make a cute enough face to convince anyone to do anything- eyes opened wide with the pupil widened to make them seem bigger, while subtly crouching the body to make one appear vulnerable and defenseless.
