"Solo, huh? That's a pretty cool name," Lapras complimented, noting the Absol out on the beach, "Alright, I'll see how far I get, but don't be surprised if I can't get you all the way to the shore. Not much of a landlubber, if you know what I mean."

Suprisingly, she managed to get pretty damn close. She was about to drop the Ralts off, but she suddenly noted that the fishing pole was still there, and, getting sidetracked, decided to swim over there instead, and curiously picked it up.

"What the heck is this thing?" she asked herself.

Rolly had already begun to get up off of Lapras as it turned to head off towards something he didn't see. The sudden change in direction caught him off balance and he tripped off of the shell.

"Rolly!" Solo yelled as he leapt from the beach, placing himself in between Rolly and the water. As they both hit the ocean's surface, Solo was able to swim up and carried Rolly back to the shore. "Always so clumsy."

"LAND!" Rolly rolled in the sand, and then immediately waded into the water to wash off all the sand. Solo shook himself off, and as he did so he noticed the Vulpix and Jolteon from before conversing back where he'd left them. Apparently Rolly noticed them too. "Who're they?"

"No one. The Vulpix was following me, and the Jolteon I just ran into."

"Huh. She's kinda pretty." Rolly turned to Solo, his face maniacal. "She your girlfriend?"

Though Solo was usually very good with masking emotions, the unexpected comment forced him to blush. "I don't know what you mean."

"Oh, the worried damsil, always trailing faithfully behind her knight." Rolly was circling him now, dramatizing as well as he could. "Not to mention you've never proven yourself to not like a pretty face."

"I think you're getting damsil confused with stalker."

"Well, I guess you don't mind if I go chat with them do you?"

"What?" Before Solo could do anything, Rolly was already with the Jolteon and Vulpix, shaking their hands.

"Hi, I'm Rolly. Nice to meet you. Have we met before. You're fur is so silky. Solo has fur like that, but not as smooth..."

Solo sighed as he walked up behind Rolly. He was never the best at meeting new people.

Vulpix smiled. "Yeah, I'm heading back to the village. Seems everyone is heading there today." She fluffed her tails, her equivalent of a human shrug.
"Oh yeah, and my name is Amber."
From the corner of her eye, she saw the Absol catch the Ralts after it fell off the Lapras. The Ralts began dancing around the Absol, saying the most bizarre things. All Vulpix caught was "girlfriend" , "pretty" and "damsel". She hoped Ralts wasn't talking about her. That would be just ridiculous.
The Ralts then came up to Vulpix and Jolteon and introduced itself as Rolly. Then making a comment on her fur.

Vulpix blushed, though to others it would be hard to tell, considering she was a red fox.
'I don't think we've met before, no." She fluffed her tails again. "Unless of course you caught glimpses of red foxes running around forests getting berries, no."
Stupid commoner. She thought, wanting to go crazy at him. But she with-held. No need, at this time.

"No, no, I definitely remember sensing you from back when we ran into that Eevee. I have a knack for that sort of thing." Rolly smiled, she was a really nice pokémon.

Solo finally walked up to the group and sat down. He was obviously not pleased with having to be there, but he had to as long as Rolly wanted to interact.

Rolly looked back at his friend, still laughing to some extent as he had before during the whole conversation, but he realized there was one thing that Solo hadn't exactly told him. "So you must've followed us here then right? Why was that?"

And so Eevee awoke, feeling a small creature crawling on his back. In most occasions he would've just violently shaked the creature off, but he had found this little, defenseless one last night. He had even given a leaf blanket, which he was sure the young thing didn't notice. He lighty moved hid his back, trying to get the creature off. Maybe he could protect this one, since it seemed to have no parents nearby. Well, someone had to do it, and if Eevee had the chance to be some sort of a brother, have some sort of a friend, he'd take it.

"That is an apt way of putting it," Nidoran said with a genuine grin. "In fact, it's possible you won't have to raise a single paw. But it's better to be prepared rather than not, and making allies is the best thing to do in such an uncertain sensation. Those who stay together stay strong, after all."

Glaceon was pretty much convinced at this point, which was good. In truth, though Nidoran probably could find shelter from the sun in the summer, she doubted she'd still be in the same area by that point. If all went well and she were able to somehow unravel the mystery the island posed to her, she'd have her memories returned and be off the island as soon as physically possible.

That said if she WAS here until the summer... she might terminate connections with the ice-type anyway, given their relative weakness during that time of year. Of course, she couldn't project anything that far, so it was best not to set bridges to burn, but... the arrangement she saw as a largely temporary measure, until she could find somebody stronger and more manipulable to work off of.

Joltik suddenly found himself displaced from the paradise he had been deposited into and was cast out into the cold beyond. He righted himself upon landing, and quickly found himself to be in the presence of much larger Pokemon. After glancing nervously at his new acquaintances, he spotted the fur belonging to his gracious host. "Umm...excuse me..." He squeaked. "But I wanted to thank you for your hospitality, and I was wondering if I could continue to groom you and feed off of your static electricity. Already, the portion of your coat that I have attended to is cleaner and less likely to frizz. I can do more, if you wish. All I ask is to use your lovely fur as my home. I will even aid you in battles."

Glaceon nodded, a hint of a smile tugging at the corner of her mouth. There was something a little off about the Nidoran's offer of alliance, something she couldn't quite put her paw on, but she hid this unease the best she could. The poison-type had a valid point, but she wasn't sure how sincere the offer was.

That said, the claim she might not have to do anything, yet still receive benefits, was as good an offer as they get. A sudden idea came to mind and she sat up a little straighter. "So let's veer away from our...tentative partnership. What resources do you want from me, and what do you plan on doing about our situation?"

She smiled a little more fuller. "I assume you feel the same about our lack of memory. It's impossible this is natural. Everyone I've heard speak about their gap seem to have experienced it at about the same cutoff point, give or take a day." She waved a paw for emphasis. "And what about the rest of this island? Do we know anything? Do the mountains have ice? Is it a volcano? Where did everyone come from?"

Eevee was suprised. This Joltik had actually proven itself to be much more mature then that annoying thing he saw earlier. He loved that. "You're welcome," he began to the younger one, "I see no reason why you can't stay in my fur. As long as you don't electricute me or something, we'll be fine." He then stood before lowering himself for the Joltik to get on his back. It really was nice to have someone else around.(Eevee would never admit it.) Soothing, comforting, and all around just claming. Did this moment make him a chaty cathy who wanted to be as involved as possible? No, not at all.

Charmeleon cocked his head at the Shinx, 'This kid is... annoying, to say the least' he thought silently. When he started jumping around the Charcoal, Charmeleon just brought his palm to his face, 'Hot dog? Are you kidding me?' Charmeleon quickly swiped up the Charcoal, "It's not a toy. It's a piece of equipment, makes my fire stronger it does" Charmeleon explained, "So I guess... yeah, we'll play a fighting game" Charmeleon answered with a smug look, 'This kid can't handle me, I'm sure of it' he thought, he looked down at the Nincada, "HEY YOU! NINCADA! YOU WANNA REFEREE THIS MATCH?" He called down, then mouthed out "And watch me destroy this guy?"

Joltik didn't need to use Eevee's self-made ramp. He instead tensed up his legs like springs, and catapulted himself towards Eevee's neck, landing in the soft neck fur. He then proceeded to start grooming his new partner. It made him feel safe to be protected by a much larger Pokemon, and the fact that Eevee was moved by his eloquence was proof that his mother's short lessons had managed to work out. No longer would Joltik simply be the run of the family, but he would be just as successful as his bigger brothers! He would prove them wrong! He eventually settled on top of Eevee's head and curled up to rest, giving Eevee a pointy blonde spot on his spiky hair fur.

Eevee was taken back a bit. He had never seen a Pokemon be able to such a thing. Well, a Pokemon that small. So, he thought, having a small Joltik on his head, what do I need to get for the day? Food, water, and.... that's about it. Eevee made his way through the forest, no other Pokemon noticing the small yellow fur on the top of his head. He went around and collected some Oren Berries, using his leaf blanket as a pouch to hold them in. After his 30 minute journey through the forest, he tried to wake the Joltik up. "Hey," he said, trying to wake up the small one without yelling, "you hungry?"

"Not a hot dog. Gotcha. Anyway, cool I like fight games! SURPRISE!!!" Shinx's eyes glowed unusually yellow, as in BRIGHT yellow. "Now, watch! I am the strongest Lightning-Type pokemon I know!! SPARRRRK!!!" His voice became deep, and powerful. Shinx's body started glowing, glowing, glowing, until almost all of his body was yellow. (OOC: he is pumping everything into this. This is his BIG move. But he is still a Shinx so, it wont seriously hurt Charmeleon.(although it might knock off a cople HP.)) You can almost smell the power that might come with evolution. "RAAAWR!!" he roared while he charged at Charmeleon, ablaze with (low-watted) lightning.

Joltik was dreaming pleasant dreams of gorging on all of the food he could ever want when he was awakened by his new partner. "Huh? What? Oh, yes, I am. I will get to work posthaste." Joltik then started on the fur on Eevee's back, sucking up all of the static and cleaning the fur clusters as he did so. He even destroyed a few knots, restoring Eevee's pelt to its former glory. The little Pokemon then crawled back up onto Eevee's head and perched there once more, completely stuffed. "So, I was wondering, since we're going to be sharing your body, if maybe we could get to know each other."

Nincada was right about that Shinx- he really was something else. Nodding towards Charmeleon after he posed the question regarding the position of referee in their little fighting 'game' [Though Nincada truly doubted whether or not Charmeleon was serious about calling it a game], he lowered himself to the ground. "I think a little fighting game would be wonderful, Charmeleon." 'Especially since I get to gauge these guys' power' He added in, snickering. "How about I fight the winner? It would surely make for an interesting day." He severely doubted that either of these Pokemon could measure up to him in strength... Well, maybe the Charmeleon. He glanced at his Charcoal- maybe he could get his hands on it? He snickered yet again. "And if I win against you... How about giving me that Charcoal you have there?"

Charmeleon took the spark attack full force, it stung a little but it didn't really hurt all that much, he gave a quick smirk, then quickly turned to the Nincada, "Fight the winner eh? Sounds like a plan" Charmeleon called down, "But then... what could YOU possibly want with Charcoal?" he asked, before turning back to Shinx, "Either way, let's see if you can handle some of THIS!" Charmander said, "You may be the strongest Electric type you know, but I'm the best Fire type on this entire island!" Charmeleon boasted, before jumping back, ripping his head back, flames emanating from his mouth, then flung it forward, "EMBER!" he called, right before a bunch of little tiny fire balls fired straight twords the Shinx.

Reflexes! Shinx attemted to dodge, but ended up getting singed by one of them. Gotta charge up! Shinx began to charge up power with the charge move. If I can charge up enough power, then hit him full-on with a spark move, I might get him! Raising his special defenses, he rolled a ball of lightning energy around him, shielding him and charging his power. C'mon! I need to hit him with everything I have! No more holding back, cus he obviously isnt....

Vulpix fluffed her many tails."Yeah, I was following you c- you guys. I was curious." She looked a little sad for moment. "Sometimes the instinct to hunt overwhelms me. A little. I get a bit over enthused. After all, I WAS hunting when I met you guys the first time."
She pawed the ground slightly. "Now, I thought we were all going to the village. So why are we still standing around?" She chuckled.
"So now, I suppose, is as good a time as any to go." She began walking in the direction of the village.
"And I'm not waiting for you guys."

Jolteon started to follow Vulpix, still holding the baskets on his back. "Well, young Vulpix, I here work as a Philosopher. What do you do for a living?" While he looked too fashionable to be, Jolteon was indeed a philosopher.
"How about the rest of you? Life wouldn't be fun without something to do..." Jolteon smiled. "I'm glad that I have made so many friends today..."

Jolteon continued to trot.

Having been behind Vulpix, it was unlikely anyone saw her eyes close briefly, as if holding back tears.
"I'm a hunter and trader by nature." She began slowly. "Find berries, sell berries, get rewards."
She closed her eyes again.
"However, I think I had another profession or something, before the life on this island." She looked minorly puzzled, searching back as far as her memory could go. Other than images of the island, all that remained were the faint impressions. She suspected many others on the island were similiar. With only impressions to go by.
"Oh, and by the way, I'm 14. I don't think that makes me little enough to be called 'Young Vulpix'." She remarked.

"Woah! I'm fourteen as well..." Jolteon blushed a little. "I gather berries and fish too, to get a good food supply in case winter comes one day. Always save up for a rainy day, or rather, a snowing season..."
He giggled.
"Life before this island? To me, it is better to look forward to the future and leave the past behind. I don't remember what happened before life here, but I'm positive an evil thing did this..."

He revealed what was beneath his sunglasses - an unmatching pair of different-coloured eyes - blood-curdling bloodshot red and lapislazuli, clear blue. He then put on his purple shades again.

"Don't tell anyone."

Rolly was less then enthusiastic as the Vulpix and Jolteon began to walk off, "But, wait. What about." Rolly looked back at the Lapras and Meditite who, if they left, were going to be stranded at the shore.

"Solo?"

"Yea, buddy?"

"Well, I know we wanted to get to the village, but I don't really like leaving the people who saved us."

"Is it that big a deal here?"

"Well." Rolly made his decision. Thinking rashly, as Rolly usually did he ran after the Vulpix and Jolteon. Confusion. With his psychic abilities, one of the only abilities he could really control, he lifted the Vulpix up into the air. "You can't leave yet, you need to meet everybody."

Without much thinking to how Vulpix felt about it, Rolly started running, the Vulpix essentially in tow with his power, towards the Ocean to introduce her to the Lapras and Meditite.

"Rolly..." Solo was beginning to worry that the many times he displayed a worried face due to Rolly's decisions was going to get stuck that way.

"Well, well," Sneeze murmured as his tree top stroll led him to another interesting sight. A battle between the charmeleon that lived on the outskirts and one very hyperactive shinx. He scrambled down to one of the lower branched and planted himself on a sturdy branch to watch. It had been a while since he had a good fight. Maybe he could get a round in when they were finished. Anything to pass the time on this boring place. He sprawled a but more, lounging as the fire type spat fire at the cat. He contemplated cheering for someone, but he figured that would be not fun; picking a side. "Not like I care really."

"Resources? Nothing at the moment," Nidoran said with a hint of surprise. If there was one pokemon that would cut directly to the chase, she didn't expect it to be Glaceon. In any case, she was still kind of hungry, but it was probably best not to exploit the eon for food when she could still get it easily herself; the less it appeared she wanted, after all, the more the Glaceon would feel indebted were it to come to an actual important situation.

"As for what we need to do... reconnaissance is the immediate issue," she said after a second. At this point, she was finished bluffing; she legitimately did need to solve the problems on the island, and so far she hadn't gained any information that was worth hiding. "Like you said, we know nothing about this island. If we can figure out what this place is, we'll probably have an easier time figuring why we're here. We've seen most of the forest, and I doubt there's much of interest along the shoreline, so heading farther towards the mountainous area seems like it would be the best move for the moment."
