Genesis - War of the Four Kings [Chapter 1 - Based on a TCG I made up]

Centuries into the future, the Earth has changed drastically. Packed with technologically advancements and state-of-the-art gaming equipment, GENESIS, a multi-trillion Tech Company, released its very own namesake game called Genesis TCG. It can be played anywhere since Genesis has enabled satellite signals from space to reach the players anywhere. However, in time, we will learn of the true secrets that lie within the game.

"Hey Raden! I want to battle you for that Skylord of yours!"

Who is that? Where am I?

"Come on, I don't have all day."

I woke up, with JP shaking me frantically. Apparently, I was dozing off on a hill near the town mall. Yeah, a mall -- we're the most underdeveloped city in Argeur, the new continent.

I shrugged him off me and I stood up, looking towards the clouds and then placing my look back to JP. We've been rivals since we were kids but we always hang out, so I guess we could be frienemies. He's a redhead with spiky hair, and he's an inch shorter than me but he's definitely tougher than most thirteen year olds.

"Come on, let's play! This time I'll definitely beat you this time!"

I smirked and accepted his challlenge, "In your dreams."

We both pressed the Genesis button on our Battle Wristbands and then a ray from the sky enveloped us in light.

Suddenly, a voice from our wristbands spoke out: "Preparation Stage: Select 5 Heroes, The first one to be selected is your Active Hero."

I looked at my cards and saw my favorite card, "Silent Knight" and threw him in the air with four other Hero cards. JP did the same with his cards.

At that moment, a knight clad with white glistening armor like that of snow appeared before me with his golden sword. His face shrouded with a silver mask with spiked edges. While on JP's field, a fat ugly, swamp monster-looking oddity ascended from the ground below. It looked and smelled horrible.

"So it's your Silent Knight versus my Vulgareix, the Vile Being, huh?"

I threw my equipment cards and they overlapped with my Hero cards in the air. Silent Knight immediately caught the Winged Baton falling from the sky. I also saw Vulgareix drawing a gun from the ground and it began to look suspicious and dangerous.

"Now JP, I'll go first!"

I drew a card from my Spell Deck and looked at my Silent Knight's stats:

Vulgareix began losing some muscle.

"Contest Stage"

"Now let's battle! Since I'm the turn player I get to choose the contest, and I pick Strength1"

The two heroes then fought with the given contest criteria. The strength of Silent Knight's sword greatly overpowered the weakened power of Vulgareix's Black Blaster.
