Mako had been so absorbed in the duel that the girl's question hadn't even registered, but with Jurrac Brachis coming to the field his streak had been broken, and he came back into reality.

Akira had been on the move since he defeated the false number holder and he had seen quite a few duels but none of the duelists had brought out a Number so he assumed that none of them had one and moved on, he was becoming irritated bu the lack of pray when he heard two boys talking about a mysterious group that was collecting the Number cards, [b][color=#0000ff]So that's it the reason I haven't been able to find that many Number holders is because someone else has been getting to them before me, looks like I'm going to need to hunt these Number Hunters.[/color][/b] With that Akira prepared to find those he felt were responsible for interfering with his hunt and to collect the Numbers they had.

But there definitely were some people eager to capture the duel on video, and this [i]really [/i]​concerned her. Even if the scientists weren't there hiding in plain sight amongst the crowd, they could well be waiting for the media to get into the action before launching their trap, and ambush Kira when she'd least expect it. She gulped, before she had the nerve to speak again.[/color]

Jurrac Staurkio rushed at Mist Valley Thunderbird, slashing with its talons. In response, Thunderbird let out a spark of electricity, shocking and frying the monster with lower attack.
[color=#00FF00]"Wait... why would you attack Thunderbird with your Staurkio? You knew that it would be destroyed, didn't you? Wait what's happening...?"[/color]
Two small embers were coming to life on Kira's side of the field. Mako had feeling that there was more to that attack then there looked. There usually seemed to be a consequence for destroying these Jurracs.

"Number, number number," Jane repeated, sounding slightly bored, "you really do go on about those cards, and I never even said I had one. Obsession isn't good, you know." She observed her opponent, looking at her opening hand and seemingly happy with them, as she drew her own cards. "Good hand?" she asked.

"Well, then, I suppose we'd better get on with this then, although if you're that desperate for the card you could at least have tried just asking." She pulled another card from her deck. "Well, I'll start with one face-down monster, and one more face-down card." The images of two card backs appeared on her field, forming a T shape. "With that, I'll end my turn."

"I'm up here! Upstairs! Please help! I'm really really scared!" Alicia cried out into the warehouse, again with the scared girl impression. She was enjoying this, toying with these miserable duelists so she kept up her act. "Quickly! I think I see someone!"
Then, just for the sake of personal enjoyment, she screamed and collapsed her knees, so there was an audible BANG as her knees hit the floor, sending an echo throughout the warehouse.[i] That'd get them [/i]she thought.

Getting no answer from his phone, Alexander decided he'd take another approach to finding this girl he'd seen earlier. He opened yet another program to track exactly where she was, based on whether her phone was on or not. It was.
Soon he was running in the direction that the tracking had given him.

Before Neo could respond to him, everything returned to normal. [color=#4B0082][i]W-Was Number 17 trying to tell me that girl is upstairs? I-I don't think so, still...must be on guard. [/i][/color]he thought.

[color=#000000]As much as Maverick still didn't buy this whole 'girl-stuck-in-top-floor', Maverick continued to scout the top floor. However, he didn't go far before his Number Card started pulsating weakly, and only glowed stronger and stronger as he got closer to Alicia's direction. Did this mean that the Number Card could sense any others out there?[/color]

[/color][color=#000000]he called to the others, before sprinting in what the card revealed to be her direction, before having a thought in his mind, [/color][color=#ff8c00]'If this 'girl' turns out to be a fully grown b****, then I'm [i]so[/i] gonna hand it to her personally.'[/color]

[color=#000000]The two Jurrac Tokens on her side of the field were exactly what Kira needed. Although it costed her 600 Life Points, she didn't seem to mind; as long as she could deal at least [i]some[/i] more damage than that to Mako again.[/color]

[color="#000000"]Surprisingly, there wasn't a monster to be seen on the battlefield. But as Kira looked up, the crowd followed suit, only to see that the [i]real[/i] had been coming down from the sky, hurtling towards Mako's monsters.[/color]

[color=#00FF00]"Aughh! NO!"[/color] Mako screamed in helpless fear. The meteor crashed down, spaying flames everywhere. In a chaotic flurry of explosions, the entire field was obliterated. Mako could only watch helplessly as his monsters went up in flames. The soft rainbow air currents were ripped apart by torrents of fire. The air shimmered with heat, slowly fading over time. At last the explosion settled down, and the ash and debris began to fade away. Mako was left with nothing - no field nor hand.
[color=#00FF00]"I-I... I end..."[/color] He whispered softly, dejected. All the fun in the duel, the excitement, the adrenaline, had been destroyed along with everything else. And to top it all off, something started wriggling in the ashes on Kira's side of the field.

[color=#00FF00]"Now, I'll attack your Gallim!"[/color] Reborn Tengu brandished its daggers, rushing at the dinosaur. [color=#00FF00]"And even though I have no cards in my hand, Reborn Tengu can special summon another copy of itself from my deck. So unless one of your facedowns can help, than that Gallim is good as destroyed!"[/color] The Tengu raised its daggers above Kira's monster, ready to strike down.

[color=#000000]Jurrac Gallim literally exploded on Reborn Tengu, destroying it and engulfing both duelists in the inferno. Kira screamed in pain, struggling to keep her composure as she took the damage.[/color]

Eventually, he found her at one corner of the building, having been on her knees. He was unsure why, but it didn't matter to him... what mattered was that he had the chance to catch his breath from all that running.[/color]

[color=#000000]His duel disk was at the ready, in case this 'Photon chick' didn't want to go without a duel, and he still had some adrenaline in him in case she was to turn and run. He just hope the others could block the exits.[/color]

"Im not a hunter! I don't know what happened, someone jumped me and..." Alicia tried to get up, her hand clutching her stomach as if she had been punched somewhat hard. "Please help me, it hurts so much!" She sobbed and to prove she wasn't a 'Photon Chick' she threw a Naturia Deck onto the floor in front of her. "Please! I'm scared and I cant get up! Help me!"

Meanwhile, James was looking around the bottom floor with Neo. "Do you really think we'll find Number 10? Or the other 96 Numbers? It's a long task and we may not have the time..."

Surely the girl in front of him was the one that he and the others were looking for, otherwise [i]his [/i]Number Monster wouldn't have detected another one anywhere near him. So why was this Naturia Deck, which Maverick knew it was since Exterio was the first card to show up, be there instead of the Photon Deck he was expecting? Perhaps there was a Number in [i]there[/i].[/color][/color]

[color=#ff8c00][color=#000000]In hopes of confirming his suspicions, Maverick picked the deck up and examined it, making sure not to miss a single card. On occasions, he'd look up to see that Alicia wouldn't suddenly bolt down a hallway while he wasn't looking. That way, Maverick would [i]know[/i] she was lying. He also knew what to do in the event that he couldn't find the Number Monster: chuck the deck behind him and explain to Alicia exactly why he believed she was lying. After all, he worked for David Numero, however briefly it was, so he was bound to know a bit more about the Numbers than even any hunters out there.[/color][/color]

[color=#ff8c00][color=#ff8c00]"Y'know what would be good for this kinda deck?"[/color][color=#000000] Maverick suggested, halfway through his examination of the deck, [/color][color=#ff8c00]"Number 20: Gig-Anto Brilli-Ant. Now [i]that[/i], would be a cool card for a Naturia Deck."[/color][/color]

"N-Number 20?" Alicia whispered through whispers. "I've heard of the Numbers, I[i] wish [/i]I had one, but I don't, nor do I know anyone with one." Looking up, Alicia saw the the boy was focusing on the deck. Still playing along with her act, she gently lifted herself up, still clutching her stomach.

"So..... you were looking for a girl with Numbers?" She turned her back to Maverick. "She might have been the one who assaulted me!" Then, quickly she spun round and punched Maverick in the jaw, with an extraordinary amount of strength for a girl of her stature. "[i]Or....[/i]She might well be me[i]"[/i]
With a wicked grin, Alicia drew three cards. Number 10: Illumiknight, Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon and finally, Number 20: Gig-Anto Brilli-Ant.
"So? You were right all along. I'm pretty sure [i]you [/i]own a Number but whether I should take it now or later is another matter. My fun is over for now, so I shall be leaving for now! But don't worry, I'll be back for your Number soon enough."
She stepped back several paces, towards a glass window. Quickly she opened it and turned back to Maverick. She sent him a mock kiss and jumped out of the window, activating her metallic wings as she did so.

[color=#00FF00]"Gah!"[/color] Mako cried. The fire momentarily swirled around him. Reborn Tengu was also destroyed in the inferno, but another one reappeared in a puff of green mist.

Unless that facedown is really powerful, or she draws a really good card, I might be able to start making a comeback!*[/color] He thought, analyzing the situation. His number was glowing now. I couldn't see it, but he knew it was glowing. He just knew. It was so hot now, it yearned to be on the field, to defeat his opponent. [color=#00FF00]*D-don't... w-w-worry... s-soon...*[/color]

Kurai was riding on his duel board when he saw a girl flying in the sky above him on matalic wings, he had never seen anyone do this before and was pretty confused so he decided to try to get her attention and find out just what was going on. [b][color=#ffa500]Hey you up there the girl that's flying um... why are you flying and how did you get something like that do you know anything about those Number cards or those Emperors people are talking about?[/color][/b]

[color=#000000]He kicked a wall in frustration, which hurt his foot badly, before remembering something. While Alicia flashed the cards, Maverick clearly remembered taking a picture with her camera phone, when she least suspected it.[/color]

[color=#000000]Kira's luck was starting to turn for the worse. Perhaps she should've never used that Pot of Avarice... then again, how did she know things would turn bad in a matter of seconds? At least now Kira would be able to see that Number Monster in action. Perhaps she could even punish Mako for not bringing it out.[/color]

Mako smiled as he drew. This was the turn. This was it.
[color=#00FF00]"First, I'll normal summon Mist Valley Soldier,"[/color] Mako yelled, the excitement building up. [color=#00FF00]"Now, since I finally have two level four monsters on the field, the time has come! Xyz summon! NUMBER 59: THUNDER HAWK!!!"[/color] Reborn Tengu and Mist Valley Soldier turned into bright green orbs, spiraling into a giant, crackling whirlwind. Dust and loose paper flew up all around, and strong winds battered the crowd. Suddenly, the wind typhoon exploded as Mako whipped out his burning Xyz, sending rays of green light everywhere. Slowly, Thunder Hawk descended. The large raptor was green in color, and its wingtips, talons, and beak glowed yellow.
[color=#00FF00]"Alright! Let's do this!"[/color] Mako was practically screaming now.[color=#00FF00] "I detach Mist Valley Soldier,"[/color] One of the green orbs circling Thunder Hawk shattered [color=#00FF00]"to return your facedown monster to your hand!"[/color] The large raptor flapped its wings, sending a huge gust at Kira's monster.

Kyra was in a particularly bad mood when she mounted her D-Wheel once more and kicked the engine into life before speeding down the road. She was still convinced the man she just met was either crazy or ridicoulously over-eccentric. She didn't bother following him, not being able to keep up with a flying bird on just her D-Wheel, but she guess she'd run into him at some other point, the man had mentioned the name of a person he was looking for so if Kyra found that same person then she'd likely run into him again, and with her sector security connections she had a definite advantage when it came to finding people.

She turned on her bike's auto-pilot and booted up the onboard computer, opening up a connection to the security head quarters.

She closed off the communication and returned her attention to the road ahead of her.

Then he heard Maverick say something about alerting Sector Security. [color=#4B0082]"M-Mav! Not real wise...we should've been out of here FIRST! Now they'll think we're somewhat responsible." [/color]Neo said, just softly so Security on the other line of the phone wouldn't hear him. [color=#4B0082]"So...let's get out...and then have them come here. Now, let's get the heck away from here before we get into that Sector Prison...which I don't feel like going into."[/color]

[color=#800080][color=#000000]He sighed, before heading downstairs to inform James of the bad news. He was certain that Neo would tag along anyway, but didn't wait for him. Instead, he turned to look out for his Duel Runner at the bottom of the stairs.[/color][/color]

"Xyz Summon! Appear now! Adreus, Keeper of Armageddon!"

The young man grinned devilishly, his eyes alight with triumph as he faced his unusual opponent. A fiendish monster had appeared before him, two orbs of light spinning around its body. (Rank 5, ATK: 2600). His opponent gazed back at him with undeterred amusement, an enormous mechanical behemoth planted before her. (ATK: 3500)

"I activate Adreus' effect! Once per turn, by detaching an Overlaid Unit, I can destroy 1 face-up card on the field!" the man announced. Adreus cackled and snatched one of the glowing spheres and flung it at the machine. "Good-bye Cyber Eltanin!"
The machine groaned and shattered apart into pixels, and the man thrust a finger forward. "That was your only defense! Adreus, direct-!"

"Not so fast, human," the spiritual entity whispered and the man froze in place. "I activate the effect of Number Infinity: Machine Emperor Aquel from my hand!"

There was a hum of energy and a new machine appeared, shaped like some sort of squid, complete with a pair of mechanical tentacles. In the center of its chest was a glowing orb surrounded by a sideways eight of the infinity symbol. Most peculiarly was the font of this 8, created with a dot and curved lines. (Level 1, 2200/2200).

"Machine Emperor Aquel can be Special Summoned from my hand when one of my cards are destroyed by a card effect," the spiritual girl sneered. "So I thank you, really."

"Whatever, my monster's still stronger!" the man snapped. "Go, Adreus! Attack-"

"I activate the effect of my Emperor!" the ghostly figure hissed, cutting him one. "Once per turn, during either player's turn, I choose one Xyz card on the field or in either Graveyard, and activate its effect as if it were Aquel's effect...I choose the effect of your Adreus." The glowing orb in the Emperor's chest glowed more brightly. "Adreus' effect is that, once per turn, I can destroy 1 face-up card my opponent controls...like Adreus, yes?" she mocked.

"B-but, you have to send an Overlay Unit to use an Xyz monster's effect!" her opponent protested, a look of panic crossing his face.

"Aquel only activates the effect itself. I don't pay the activation cost," Celestia countered. Aquel lashed out a tentacle, striking the opposing fiend and destroying it in a shower of pixels, leaving the young man completely undefended. "Fool, relying on Xyz monsters...Now, Aquel...direct attack!"

The man's scream filled the air and the duel came to an end.

Celestia observed the man as he collapsed to the ground, the shock of the duel taking its toll on his frail, human body. She extended a hand disdainfully, and the defeated opponent's Xyz monster flew to her hand. She smirked and the card dissolved as if it had never existed. That was another one down...

The aera around a small shopping district in Neo Domino City. It had appeared mostly abandonded, the district stores has worn-out signs, some with broken windows and bits of broken glass scatterd on the side walk. However one shop in this district of old-used up stores was the home of twenty-nine year old Kinzo Yama. There seemed to have been a small disturbance as a large, slightly crooked body man in a gray coat, was standing over a younger-man. They were both armed with Duel Disks, while the younger man had a D-Gazer and the older one did not. The younger-man could be seen backing away from the older one with tenacity.

"T-theres no way i could have lost to that trash numbers!" The young man jumped to his feet, his face in shock and dissapointment. He had stuck his arm out and pointed it directly at the older fellow in the trench coat with malice. He seemed to have been breathing heavy, his eyes bulging slightly, his face with a deep scowl, as if directing all his hated towards the trench-coated man.

"Now now.." A gently voice rang in the air. "There need not be a reason to call my cards names." The voice was a bit raspy, but it was some-what soothing, it had a kind and gentle ring to it. Although the older-man sounded like he was having trouble just speaking. The trench coated man lifted him self to hold his back straight. His gray hair appeared old which sat lightly atop of his head, his odd-green eyes brimmed gentily in the light. However the young man would continue with his assault.

"Like hell!" The angry young-man yelled, and ran towards the older man. Pushing him over and toppling him over and sending him straight into the cold Neo Domino City cement. He did not grunt in pain but barely wince as the young-man pushed him over. His deck scatterd out as the cards fell out of the deck slot in a duel-disk which was based on the Kaiba Corp Duel Disk from battle city. The young-man then scrambled and ran away as fast as he could, miraculously; not stepping on any of the older-man's cards.

Kinzo Yama, the owner of "Golden Toy" antique and toy shop had lay helplessly on the ground. Although he wasn't to old, he was having great trouble lifting him self up off the ground, as if he was much older then he really was. He felt his legs shoot with pain as he struggled to pull him self. Beginning to breath heavily, he called out lightly. "H-h-..." His breathing became heavy as he tried nearly desperately to call out for help. It was very odd considering his true age was only twenty-nine and that he should have no trouble lifting him self off the ground and gathering his cards. But despite his fighting he couldn't do it. There was nothing near-by that he could use to as levarge to pull him self up, was he really unable to pull him self up. Kinzo continued to struggle there, hoping someone would help him...[/left][/left]
