The woman flipped up her Trap Card, revealing it to be Compulsory Evacuation Device. Graam was shoved into a machine, and catapulted high into the air, the shockwave causing the iron giant's card to be sent back to Jayce's hand.

Delilah mused. "It would be best to upgrade some sort of communication device you already possess, but we have another problem. The policeman outside of this space-time compression field might not be too happy about the missile that just landed in his street. They rarely are. So we will have to move quickly to get back to my lab."

Listening to the guy go on, Setsuna raised a brow as a duel disk materialized on his arm. That definitely wasn't something he saw every day. Watching his turn progress, he stepped back as his opponent pulled monster after monster out. Freezing momentarily, he watched as his opponent Xyz summoned a Numbers monster. In a matter of seconds, his eyes narrowed as the monster was used to pull out an even stronger card. "Chaos Numbers...?"

Registering that his opponent was declaring an attack, Setsuna tapped the side of his Duel disk. "I activate my face-down card! Under Fire!" He shouted as the trap card rose up. This was a tactic he was hoping would be used on a slightly weaker monster, but he needed to avoid as much damage as possible. "When my opponent declares an attack, I can switch my Mech monster that is being attacked into Defense position," He said as he switched Moonshine Mech into defense position. Grinning, he snapped his fingers. "Because Moonshine Mech was switched into Defense position, via card effect, I can draw one card!" He shouted as Moonshine Mech turned blue. Drawing a single card, Setsuna watched as Moonshine Mech was destroyed by the Chaos Numbers monster. Staring at the card, Setsuna smiled at it. Moonshine's legacy was strong.

"Like a cell phone or something?" Natalie wondered, but the second part of the comment reminded her of the strange circumstances that had brought her to this situation. She looked around. "Hmm...good point, and what do you propose we do about that? You know the technology far better than I could ever imagine..."

As she spoke, she disengaged her Disk, swiftly removing the cards left on her field, including the Enemy Controller Spell she had Set, and returned the deck to its box, and the disk to her bag.

A figured walked past the Sarana household. A slender figure, about average height, dressed in a variety of colours. Short black jeans were worn and a white top with blue sleeves. Then her hair was of all different colours, drooped over one eye and highlighted in red, pinks, purples and yellows. This girl was Emma Rainbowa, a suitable name for a person wearing such vivid colours. Upon reaching the door, Emma knocked three times and waited, leaning across the wall ebside the door, until one of her friends opened the door.
"Hurry up guys. I've been bored all day until you get home!"
She held up a black framed card, studing it carefully, taking in every detail. She knew the card well. It appeared to her you could say. And it was a very strange card indeed. Yet it was so like her. "What are you.... really?" She murmered, to her Number Monster.

He smiled in response to the card his opponent just activated. "You can't keep hiding forever child! The offensive dueler decides the outcome!" he yelled. "And when you lose, you shall experience the once-in-a-lifetime event of having your soul ripped out. Kuroi's left hand started to glow purple, but it abruptly faded again. "What?" he muttered. He decided he'll think about it later. He sets 3 cards and ends his turn. He wonders about his soul-ripping hand not working. "Oh well." he thinks.

Watching as his opponent set three cards, Setsuna examined his hand carefully. "My turn!" He called out as he drew his next card. Staring at the card, a smile spread across his face. His opponent was definitely not a normal duelist, but as long as he had faith in his deck, he knew it could pull a victory off. His eyes widening as he analyzed his hand, he smiled lightly. He could do it now! "I activate the spell card, Foolish Burial! By activating this spell, I can send one monster in my deck to the Graveyard and I choose my Survivor Mech," He said with a grin as a card slid out of his deck. Tossing the monster into his graveyard, he put the spell in afterwards.

"Foolish Burial?" Kuroi mutters, what a weird card. Oh well, he thought, but he should be careful. "Draw!" He glances at his hand. "I normal summon Karasu - Wakai Karasu! Through its effect when normal summoned or banished, I can special summon one more Wakai Karasu from my deck! Come, Wakai!" he shouts. "I'm not done yet though! I overlay the 2 Wakai Karasus! Descend, Numbers 14: Ultimate Karasu!" A golden raven-human screams out of a portal. "I use it as an Xyz Material, along with its current Materials! Come forth, Chaos Numbers 14: Hell Karasu!" The golden winged human disappears, before giving way to a evil, black colored raven human. 'Due to my Field's effect, it gains 500 ATK and DEF!" He smiles now, his victory assured. "Chaos Numbers 13 and 14, attack him directly!"

"...My god, you're a total b****." He watched Graam disappear. "You won't even let me hit you..." But he suddenly grinned. "Good! Thank you! This is the best duel I've been in for a long time. But unfortunately for you...I don't think I'll lose it." He grabbed another couple cards from his hand. "I set one monster, and one spell or trap card! Turn end!" He looked at his opponent. "Do you think you can keep your life protected forever? Think again, lady."

Grinning, Setsuna motioned towards his face down card and snapped his fingers. "Activate! Dimensional Tide! When my opponent declares a direct attack, I can remove two Mech monsters in my Graveyard to negate his attack and end the battle phase," He said as Moonshine Mech and Survivor Mech were removed from his Graveyard. Snapping his fingers again, he pointed towards Kuroi's side of the field. "Rise from the depths you traitor!" He shouted as Survivor Mech Special Summoned to Kuroi's side of the field. Groaning out, the Mech fell down and laid on the ground, acting as if it had died already.

He cursed, when he saw the kid use this new card called Dimensional Tide. He would have to do something about that Mech on his side. Kuroi takes a brief look at his hand, his face emotionless. "I activate Karasu Steroids! I pay 1000 Life points to increase all my Karasu monsters ATK and DEF by 1000! Then, I change the Survivor Mech to defense position!" He grins. It is unwinnable for his opponent.

Staring at his hand, Setsuna looked at Survivor Mech, then at the three face-down cards his opponent controlled. Drawing his card, he stared at it for a moment as he registered what it was. "That's it!" He shouted as he eyeballed the card. Playing it, he motioned as the spell card Heavy Storm was activated. "I activate Heavy Storm," He said calmly as he looked over at his opponent. He knew something his opponent had was a Counter Trap or something of the sort, but he needed to clear the field quick for the ace card of the deck to shine.

Kuroi smiled in the annoying way people do when they know more than you. "Karasu Cyclone, stop his Storm!" A gigantic cyclone of space was moving toward his Heavy Storm, big enough to eat it whole. He nearly fainted when he saw the Heavy Storm. His remaining Spells and Traps were vital to his success. Then he remembered one of his safety counters, Karasu Cyclone. He smiled now. "Child! What can you do against me! Fofeit and I shall spare your soul!" It was a bluff, because he aptly remembered his hand ability not working. He'd have to get that fixed soon. But it meant his opponent would've been safe anyway.

Kenta, who had finished his homework and had just about fallen asleep on the table was suddenly woken up by a knock on the door. "It's probably just Emma" he thought to himself as he glanced at Kai. "Could you get some tea ready for her after I let her in?" he asked while stifling a yawn. Kenta slowly trotted to the door and opened it. He looked outside, only to see that his suspicions were correct.
"Hello there again, Emma" he greeted as he gestured for her to come in. "Kai will get some tea for you in a minute" he stated before closing the door.

Looking at his hand for a moment, Setsuna looked over at his opponent's side of the field. He already put one of his Survivor Mechs onto his side of the field. He meant to do it a bit later, but he needed to negate that attack. The duel was becoming rather one sided, but he needed to create some form of counter attack. Something quick and speedy...

"Why not use the card to the far left?" The old man suggested as he stared at Setsuna.

Gazing at the card the old man was talking about, he took it and read it carefully. "You're perfect!" He shouted as he raised it up. Showing it to his opponent, he quickly activated the card. "I activate Future Fusion! By targeting one Fusion monster in my extra deck, I can send Fusion material for it to the Grave to Special Summon it in two turns from now. The card I target is my Mech Overlord!" He said eagerly as he showed his Mech Overlord. Sliding it back into the Extra Deck, four cards popped out of his deck. Tossing them into the Graveyard, he smiled at Kuroi. Two Proto-Mechs and two other Mech monsters.

Glancing at the cards in his hand, he looked at a card with golden letters. Reading the effect of the Spell, he smiled once more. "Now I activate Monster Reborn to bring back my Aerial Assault Mech that was tossed away for the Future Fusion," He said as he motioned to the Mech that burst from the cieling, its boosters flaring as it floated in place. Reading the card carefully, he nodded at it as the mech pointed towards his deck. "Because he was Special Summoned, I get to draw one card and if it is a monster, I can reveal it to Special Summon to my side of the field!" He shouted as he put his fingers over the deck. Drawing the card, he stared at it for a moment, before grinning. Revealing it, Setsuna's grin widened. "It was a Mech Guardian!"

Special Summoning the monster in Defense position, he watched as a large Mech with a shield for a right arm emerged from the ground, rubble coming off of it as it shook. "You're a big fella, but now it is time to let the little guy shine! I increase Mech Guardian's level from four, to five, to Special Summon my Support Mech from my Graveyard!" He said quickly as a small mech, about half the size of Aerial Assault Mech emerged from a ring on the ground. Looking at Support Mech, then at Aerial Assault, Setsuna's eyes widened. "Synchro Summoning time! I tune my Level two Support Mech, with my Level four Aerial Assault Mech!" He shouted out as he motioned towards the two.

Jumping up, the Support Mech immediately exploded into two rings. Going into the rings, the Aerial Assault Mech began to fade out, leaving four stars within the rings. "Hopes ride upon descending stars! Blaze forward into a new tomorrow! Synchro Summon! Deploy, Combat Mech!" Setsuna called out as a beam of light consumed the rings and stars. Shooting out of the beam, a dark green Mech pulled out a large machine gun and landed in front of Setsuna. Skidding the ground, its "eyes" flashed red as it glared at Kuroi. "This is my father's burning resolve! Combat Mech!" He shouted proudly as he hit his chest, "When this card is Synchro Summoned, I can destroy one card on my opponent's side of the field...I choose the the face-down spell or trap to the left!" Lifting his gun up, Combat Mech began to fire rounds off at the card Setsuna had selected, his "eyes" still locked onto Kuroi.

Pulling Support Mech and Aerial Assault Mech out of his Graveyard, he banished them and looked at Kuroi. "By banishing two of my cards from my Graveyard, my Combat Mech gets two additional attacks during this Battle Phase," He said as he looked over Combat Mech. Smiling as the mech took a second gun from his side, he aimed them both at Survivor Mech. "Now Combat Mech, attack with Ballistic Barrage!" He ordered as he pointed at Survivor Mech. Cocking his first gun, he began to fire rapidly at Survivor Mech. Stopping with his first attack, the mech stared at his foe, then shook his head and began to shoot at him again.

Kai nodded to his brother. He took a few steps into their kitchen, pulled out a large pot from one of the cupboards, and filled it with water from a sink. He put the pot down onto the stove, lighting it. After, he came out of the kitchen to greet Emma with Kai. "Hey, Emma. It's been a while since the last time you visited us, hasn't it? I was starting to wonder where you'd gone off to." Kai said. "Oh, and by all means, come in." Kai added quickly, stepping back from the doorway to let Emma inside.

"It'd kinda help if you were in more." Emma commented, bringing a pained expression to her face, mocking the two boys. Then she smiled and hugged the twins. "You two" Her face went stern, almost like a mother questioning to children, "have some explaining to do. Where have you been?! I've been coming round after school and you weren't here!"
She smiled again. "Whatever. Have you two eaten? I don't wanna be any trouble or anything. But I do have some things I need to run past you. I know I can trust you two and you may understand the lil' situation I'm in...."

"Kai probably has a better explanation of that than I do" Kenta squirmed as he glanced at Kai. "Though he probably doesn't want to be reminded of it" he thought, feeling sympathy towards him. "But to answer your second question, no, we haven't eaten yet - I just finished my homework, and Kai has been doing..." he stopped to think. "Well, I don't actually know" he finished lamely, looking questionably at Kai, giving him a "What the hell have you been doing" look. "But don't worry about that - come in and make yourself comfortable; we can take some time to discuss whatever you need, right, Kai?" he turned to Kai for approval.

Delilah motioned to the bushes nearby. "I suggest we head there, then I can deactivate the space-time compression field so we can escape. Do not worry about the field generator. It will be retrieved."

The woman drew her card, and Normal Summoned a second Photon Cerberus, the mechanical glowing three-headed dog sending out another howl, accompanied by a wave of energy, that paralyzed Jayce's Trap Card. The woman then motioned to Photon Crusher, who then moved in to attack the face-down monster, raising his weapon high.

Jayce just smiled. "And...no. When you activate Cerberus's effect, I activate my trap! Divine Wrath! By discarding one card from my hand, I negate the activation of a monster effect and destroy that monster!" He sent the only card in his hand to the graveyard. Not useful now anyway...now I'm top decking, but oh well. A bolt of lightning shot from the sky towards the dog. "And...bye-bye buddy. Let's just see how you do without negating my traps."

Then, he watched as Crusher swung his weapon at his monster. "You know what? No. I've been waiting the whole duel to use this...reverse card! Sakuretsu Armor! The attacking monster dies!"

Kuroi shouted in frustration as his Vortex of the Dead was shredded by the machine-gun fire. He let out an unearthly scream when the Combat Mech shot at his defense-position but instead of destroying it, it went through, damaging him heavily. His eyes glowered at Setsuna, a groove of blood running down his face in the AR-vision-world. "How dare you! You impudent boy! You will be sorry when I rip your soul out without mercy! You just made a fatal mistake!" Kuroi yelled, enraged.

"Just...right there, in the bushes?" Natalie asked skeptically, but then shrugged and hurried to the designated location. She'd probably receive better instructions, if any, in a moment, and there was no point in debating the point with someone who probably understood the technology aspects significantly better than she did. Besides, she could scarcely wait to get back to her Number Hunting. With a total of 5 Numbers, more than twice the cards she had this morning, all working in tune with her deck, she had a feeling that things could become easier if she just endured the confusion surrounding her new ally.

Souta finally walked back into his home only to be met by his little sister hitting him in the face with the latest issue of 'Duelist Weekly'. "Where have you been?"

"Ow, I was watching a Duel at school, what's the mat-." Souta stopped short as he had to lift his arm to block his sister's second shot.

"You were supposed to be back an hour ago. Grandma had dinner all done and everything."

"Alright, alright. I'm here now, let's eat."

Souta's little sister, Aki, folded her arms and walked back into the kitchen to sit down. Souta followed, and found his grandmother sitting at the table quietly, food, which at one point must have been steaming, sat coldly in front of her, untouched.

"Oh, Souta. So good of you to join us." She didn't sound agitated. His grandmother was always so kindhearted when it came to things like these. She was a bit too dependent on them to be too much of a parent. Besides, Souta was 17, he didn't need that kind of support.

"So who was dueling, Souta?" Aki may be a bit angry with her brother from time to time, but most of the time, she was genuinely caring towards him, a feeling they both shared, and there were never really any secrets between the two.

"Two new kids, uh… what were their names…ah! Kenta and Kai, that was it."

"Did they win?"

"You know them?"

Aki didn't seem to have seen the question coming. "Ah, yeah, they're in my class, so I met them today."

"Was it their first day?"

"No, but it's only been a day or two."

"So do you know them well?"

"Uh, well, I don't really know them well, but I've talked to them a few times." Aki was hiding it well, but there was nothing doing when Souta was the person she was talking to.

"You have a crush on one of them, don't you."

"I do not!"

Souta laughed, "You're proving it right there!"

A wad of potatoes went flying across the table.

"Hey, what was that for?!"

"You know why!"

Souta started laughing. "Alright, alright, I'll stop."

"So which one of them was playing?"

"Kai, if I remember correctly."

"Did he win?"

Souta sighed, remembering the end of the duel. "No, no he didn't."

"Well that's too bad."

"Yea, I guess." Souta didn't want to give his sister the details of what happened after, instead he picked up his empty plate and headed over to the kitchen to put them away.

"You're done already?"

"I have a lot of work to do tonight, I'll see you tomorrow."

"Alright, goodnight then."

"Night." Souta trudged upstairs. It wasn't really the work, there was just a lot on his mind.

Delilah ran towards the bushes, which, due to the compression field, were much farther than initially thought. She jumped across and over the bushes, and waited for Natalie to join her, at which point she deactivated the space-time compression field. Immediately, after a gut-wrenching feeling entering Natalie, an experience that affected Delilah as well, time resumed normally. At that point, the mysterious aircraft from before swooped over with a tow line that snagged the generator, picking it up and winching the device back into place on its undercarriage. The black aerial drone fired up its thrusters and flew off towards its secret carrier.

Meanwhile, the new woman didn't seem too concerned, as she ordered her new dragon to go attack the face-down monster.

Staring at his foe, Setsuna's eyes locked onto the last card in his hand. Reading it carefully, he nodded. "I activate Dimension Buster! By banishing one Mech monster on my side, until my next End Phase, I can inflict Damage equal to their attack," He said calmly as he looked over at Combat Mech. Banishing Combat Mech, he watched as the mech began to shine blue. Rushing past Kuroi's defenses, the Mech began to give off blue particles as it drew closer into his opponent. If he could even remotely counter attack, Setsuna was going to lose, but if he didn't act fast he would have lost anyway. "Show him our Burning Resolve!" He called out as he pointed at Kuroi.

Kuroi's resolve was seriously wavering, but he put on a cruel smile for looks. "Draw!" He needed to do something about that Dimension Buster effect. "I normal summon Karasu - Kasai no Reivun!" A plume of fire bursts through the ground, before giving way to a fire raven-human. "Through its effect, I banish Chaos Number 13 and Survivor Mech to inflict 1000 damage for each! Now, burn child!" The fire-raven glows brightly, before several whips of fire lash out at Setsuna. "Further more, I activate Karasu Soul Extraction! I banish my Kasai Karasu to gain 1000 life points!" Kuroi hoped to all the Dark Lords he could withstand the next few turns, but he seriously doubted it. "Now let's see how you do!" Kuroi bluffed. He thought about the Fusion that would be summoned soon and the additional damage and he prayed to Darkness he would survive. Kuroi was annoyed at himself for being so weak so he thought about enrolling as a fake student after the duel just to learn something. He being so close to being defeated was a horrible feeling for Kuroi. He turned back to his opponent, his face blank.
