Almost everyone can recognize the title characters and either worship the ground they walk on or can't stand the sight of them. Which one's the best series? I don't watch/read One Piece as it really isn't my thing, though I'm considering it. For what it does it's done well, that's really it. And Bleach can be painful in large enough doses. Ugh. Mr.WHAM Posted October 5, 2011 Report Share Posted October 5, 2011 I cannot fairly say which of these I like best. I remember watching Naruto & One Piece coming out at the same time. Naruto, when it does end, will be a sad day. For me at least. One Piece is well written and has it own great parts and not so great parts. With most of the recent Shippuden its really Naruto going overkill with 2 moves: Rasengan & Shadow Clones. That in itself is both good and bad. I forgot Sasgay existed until they showed his face again. One of the last INCREDIBLE chapters of Naruto was when Itachi revived himself & before then it was when he was talking to his parents. People like Kakashi and Gaara need to start dying again. Nonetheless, I do care about it. Reading Naruto made me love anime. Bleach I came into right at the good part. I mean after they rescued Rukia and had trained for a while. I came in when Ichigo and the Gotei 13 were preparing to go fight Aizen in the winter. This is after I had watched the most crucial upgrades in the anime. It was so dark in comparison to Naruto boundless sense of hopenand determination. It was raw and instinctive, a little random but to be honest, badass. NO ONE WILL EVER TOUCH ULQUIORRA'S SEGUNDA, and THEN ICHIGO WENT FULL HOLLOW. That craziness was what I loved not to mention how the Captain's Bankai were things as simple as I can throw 1 energy beam and get super fast to I = FIRE to Let's Play a Game to GIANT POISON BABY to a favorite, TWO(BAN) HANDS(KAI). Then they lead everyone on to believe this is the end. Ichigo lost his powers. Aizen was captured and defeated, all is well. Right? No Bleach would not go down in the Blaze of Glory it had and decided it would do 2 more arcs, where in one Aizen actually dies and a few remaining questions get answered. The doused there own fire. But now there embers can finally start to glow as there phoenix rises for one last time...maybe? This is a guy who just does it all, and is crazy good at it too. Plus the motley crew he has aids in his greatness. Now past 650 chapters, the series MIGHT be half over. That's still greatness to come. Almost as if is too great...its impossible for us to picture any of the Straw Hat crew being beaten. Why? Cause they're just that nice and they've gotten even nicer. He has a girlfriend he doesn't know about and the voice of a king. Luffy's smile is only beaten out by his will. It's unbreakable. He's never sad, except for when his Nakama are hurt. Then there's a rubber firestorm headed your way. The bad guys a truly evil forces to be reckoned with but Luffy and his crew wreck them anyway. So I expect Onepiece to be great and it does tap into my inner happiness. They deserve their congratulations for their creativity and uniqueness. However it as entertaining as it is now, cannot receive my vote. The Strawhat Crew and the Gotei 13 have to bow down when they enter the gates of Konoha. BUT.NARUTO WILL ALWAYS HAVE MY VOTE. A few years ago, I was in high school. And I heard a song. "...we are fighting dreamers..." and I smiled. That song was heard by almost every male I knew and some girls I didn't had it on there old school Ipods and fake Mp3 players. This isn't like today when downloading music was easy. Yo had to know someone who had it, and only the smart and savvy knew of Limewire (R.I.P.) That got people into the show. They felt good about the main character. We wanted to see him become Hokage, more than anything, I personally felt as if I was there. In the middle of the Village Hidden in the Leaves, helping to do what I can. This 1 kid, had done everything to prove to people that he would be a great ninja. No one would stop him. They couldn't. He would keep going until they killed him. And they wouldn't. Not because he had Main Character Plot-No-Jutsu, but because he made them not want to kill him or he would rely solely on his inner strength, which he found in others who had HATED him. See Naruto wasn't good because we knew what was going on; we didn't. Things that are cliche to us now, have become so through Naruto or one of the Other Big 3. When Gaara broke Lee's leg, I was genuinely angry and sad. Greatness deferred. When Naruto beat Negi, Greatness shown. When Sasuke beat the sanity out of Gaara, Greatness AVENGED. It only escalated from there. Reaching higher and higher and higher until, ! The Great Clash happened and Sasuke, whom we all begged to stay, left us. Then Naruto came back after two years and a mighty number of fillers, to kick ass. It felt as if we watched Star-Wars from start to finish. We watched/read him train endlessly to perfect the Rasengan. Then to Make the Wind Element Rasengan. When he revealed the Rasenshuriken, I felt like a proud parent. Then he got sage mode and went to college. Then he threw the Rasenshuriken AND beat pain, coming home with a master's. When Jiraiya died, people were sad as if someone close to THEM had passed. The only worse reaction I saw was when I watched Dobby die in Harry Potter. People cried. The thought of Kakashi, Tsunade and Hinata dying almost made me want to smack the writers with a metal bat! But I didn't because I wouldn't get anymore Naruto if I did. That's what makes Naruto the best. WE watced Naruto growing, his reader's quickly became his parents, our hopes for him to succeed trumping everything else. We stood there and watched Naruto grow as we did ourselves. He spoke to our generation and made us proud of him. Now, he's at the end of his journey, taking his final exam before he gets his goal. We're brimming with confidence because we know he's going to do it and we expect him too. So we wait. And wait. And wait some more. But while we wait we are impatient so we lose sight of how far we've come and want to just cross that finish line. I'll savor every moment until we do because there's still the possibility of the challenge being TOO GREAT. What if he makes one mistake and doesn't rest. He still has his brother at his side who been a constant source of his problems. However, what if he doesn't just pass the exam, what if he does it perfectly, so perfect that is SURPASSES what even he wanted for himself. To me the event i'm anticipating most from either of the Big 3 is Naruto vs Sasuke, that is at the top of my list, however 2nd, third, fouth and fifth things I'm most excited to see are all within One Piece, the crew's new moves, why Zoro's bounty went up and how he lost an eye, the yonkou, the supernovas status and the fishman island arc are just a few of the things One Piece has to offer. To me the latest chapters of Naruto although focusing on the battles, only really leave about 4 things on my mind, What's Madara's deal? Yea his Madara but there's got to be more to him as dictated by the mysterious coffin nbrought up by kabutomaru, the fight and conclusion to Naruto vs Sasuke, Whether or not Itachi will knock sense into Sasuke and whether or not naruto will become Hokage. As for Bleach well I tune in and out so I can't really comment on it's as of late status. The thing I think that strikes me most about One Piece is their ability to dwell on both emotional and humerouse moments, a classic example is the stand off opposite to CP9, there was a hilarious moment after the super-epic Robin Plea to be saved (major chills). Luffy calling out to Nami "You are my Nakama", Sanji yelling out "Thank you Owner Zeff", Luffy punching the Tenryuubuto, Usopp shooting the flag, all these momeents along with the crew being seperated for such a long time and making the promise to return in two years stronger, (The ending to episode 516 was the single greatest thing I've ever seen) And don't even get me started on The War Arc and Ace. However I do remember a few epic moments on Naruto to, eg: Choji seeing the sign made by Naruto and the others "We're waiting for you" (Or soemthign like that, had serious tears) and Naruto vs Sasuke in the vallley of the end was unbelieveable. So yea in terms of the main thing I want to see, Naruto vs Sasuke and the fights conclusion, but all my other interests are spiked by what One Piece has to offer. Naruto (Vol. 1-53) I love naruto, You can really feel the struggle of the characters and the will and heart of each and everyone. However it also has badass jutsu's and a good premise. I hate Saskue. He is an idiot who whines and complains and has lowered the series down by a lot in my ratings. One piece (All of east blue saga, All but one volume in baroque works, One volume of skypea, all but the concluding two books of water seven, all of thriller bark, all but one of saobody, all of Impel down.) I have read a lot of one piece. I love one piece. The creativity in each characters powers is amazing. There is wit and pure awesomeness in every volume. Sadly my library only has vol. 1-19 so I've had to read most of it at chapters. Anyways Luffy and the rest of the strawhats beat Ichigo and Naruto anyday. Luffy doesn't have an energy attack and certainly nothing of that caliber. You forgetting things like Sage Mode Vs Bankai Vs Gear 2nd. (all these are "Second Forms" Normal form, Luffy would be the smartest candidate of a winner. Second form, Ichigo. Third form, Naruto hands down. Luffy hasn't dealt with hate even remotely as bad as the nine-tails, and Ichigo hasn't dealt with a hate as consistently with that power.(Aizen don't hate, he manipulates + if anything, Ichigo is on the hater side as they hate Aizen). Naruto is my favorite and the best in my opinion. But One Piece can quickly sweep as they top Manga, once Naruto finishes. We have no plot left to develop and UNLESS they surprise everyone, after the NaruSasu fight, we will see its end. Phantom Roxas Posted October 9, 2011 Report Share Posted October 9, 2011 I learned of One Piece through the 4Kids dub, Naruto through Toonami, and Bleach through Adult Swim. I tried to get into the manga of One Piece, but I stopped rather early into the Captain Kuro arc and haven't bothered to revisit it. This was after I read the chapter that lead up to the time skip, and I read some chapters of that, but I also dropped that. From what I have read on wikis, it sounds interesting, and I can certainly see the people of it, but I greatly prefer Naruto. To my knowledge, the Big Bads in One Piece are typically just for their arc, and it took ages for Blackbeard to officially become the Big Bad of the entire series, with the World Government seemingly filling that role before him. Orochimaru was set up as the Big Bad relatively early, and unlike One Piece, did not appear to be confined to a single arc. Eventually, the Akatsuki were introduced, which set up an even greater threat, and then there was Tobi, who turned out to the be ultimate Big Bad Madara, who is one of my favorite villains. This identity of the Big Bad is what determines how episodic each series is, and I like the transition between arcs in Naruto. Bleach's main problem is that it's arcs drag on forever, which is made especially apparent with how short the chapters seem to be. It has very bad pacing, which brings down the series quite a bit. A series is only as good as it's characters and story. However, I greatly appreciate the themes of Naruto as well. It's a well-done example of how the new generation can overcome the old, and that theme is the very basis for the Fourth Shinobi World War, which as been nothing short of awesomeness.
