My posts look messed up sometimes

Exiro

Question

The html tags just appear in my post as plain text.

I'm in Linux, using Iceweasel, but only because Firefox doesn't work well with comments either: it doesn't allow me to use formatting at all.

I think the easiest way to solve this is if I could just the full editor all the time. Is there any way to do that?

EDIT: alright, so I found out how to use the full editor (for some reason I have to double click the button), but it's still annoying if you don't know how to fix it. Am I the only one to whom this occurred?

Hey there Exiro, haven't seen ya in a while!

OT: I'm not very knowledgeable of IPB's cross-platform capabilities, but you'd think that wouldn't be a problem...

What exactly do you mean with HTML tags? The forum doesn't actually use HTML ( brackets rather than <>s) so I just wanna make this clear.

Yeah, I occasionally post in General or TCG, but you generally won't see me around much.

I got <div> tags. Lots of <div> tags cluttering up my whole post.

The problem only seems to appear when I use Ice Weasel, which is based on Chromium by the way. I also realized that I messed around with the useragents, so that may have something to do with it as well.

Edit: I don't have access to formatting even if I use the full editor in Firefox. Currently it's either no formatting at all, or hope that nothing goes wrong in Ice Weasel. I don't know just how often it goes wrong in Ice Weasel, though, but it's still annoying to have to switch between browsers.

<div>s? That was unexpected.

It does sound more like a browser-thing, then. I would occasionally get lots of tags if I pasted something into the editor and then toggled the editing mode, but even then it'd be bracket-tags rather than proper HTML. I'd suggest googling; doesn't seem to be a YCM-problem, thus I don't think most people here would be able to help.
