[M.D.] Scarlet Geminis (40/40) *Xyz Geminis Added*

Searing Hellhound: I realised that its original form was redundant (an Effect Monster that treats itself as a Gemini), since card text over-rides rulings. Due to what I've done with Gemini text, I've changed the 'Treated as a Normal Monster...' from an effect to a ruling, allowing me to over-rule it with the other effects. Like you say, it is mainly a searcher, and has only a semi-useful effect (like some of the others you picked up on); something I decided on when making these. The supporting cards would be focussed on their primary effects (the ones that activate in the Graveyard and hand), while the ones that usually would get to the field would have much more useful continuous effects.

Solaris Chara: My Delta and Omega Synchro Summoning archetype, yes. However, I wanted to use the picture in something truly realistic. As with 'Searing Hellhound', it is designed to mainly be used for its searching effect and to throw a FIRE Gemini to the Grave for use in other effects that revolve around Special Summoning or using the Grave as a cost. Its second effect will get almost no use, as it is designed to be a pair of Levels for use with the Tuners, or to get better Fusion Materials into your hand, so I realise it is underpowered in that respect.

Phoenix Dragon: Its lack of any Special Summoning effect and need for Gemini support is to balance out 'Magical Cerise' and 'Bloodsworn Assailant', the two Synchros it will most likely be used to Summon. Both the Synchros are quite a bit more powerful than 'Black Brutdrago' and so I decided that instead of reducing the Synchros' power, I'd make it harder for them to get to the field. This is not negated by 'Phoenix Archer' though since the easiest way for it to activate is through use with 'Elven Swordsmistress', so Synching those two would lead to 'Crimson Samael'.

Phoenix Miko: The reason it's a Gemini is so it is useable with all the support, and can be used as a cost for any Special Summoning cards or other effects. It's full effect would read:
'You can discard this card: Gemini Summon 1 FIRE Gemini Monster you control. This card is treated as a Normal Monster while on the field and in the Graveyard.'

Phoenix Cherub: This is designed to be the base card for a different FIRE Gemini Deck. While the major use would be as a target for 'Searing Hellhound', the standard Gemini Deck would change from the current beatdown strategy to a Spellcaster/Warrior Extra Deck beatdown with limited burn. This on the hand, with the other Fairy-Types (and some of the Warriors) would be used in a quick-Tribute Deck designed to get 'Phoenix Seraph' and 'Phoenix Gearfried' out quickly and to flood the field with Equip Cards, some being monsters. As such, it would backed up with stall or lockdown cards to protect it and the other low-Level fodder monsters.

Phoenix Seraph: There are a growing number of ZeXal-era cards that flip monsters face-down, so this is almost a pre-emptive defense against them. And as I said for 'Phoenix Cherub', this is supposed to be the second trump for a 'Phoenix' Gemini Deck.

Phoenix Virtue: Its main purpose is to become an Equip on something like 'Phoenix Gearfried', 'Evocator Chevalier' or 'Scarlet Sword Master', but also is able to provide easy Tribute/cost fodder if needed. It's effect is somewhat experimental and as such is the weakest of the 'Phoenix' cards.

Aurora Mage: The main reason it is WIND is because of 'Tuned Magician', the original Gemini Tuner. At some point, I realised that standard Fusion/Synchro Gemini Decks (which are still multi-Attribute) would probably require a little support if they decided not to use the new FIRE-based support. Hence this, which means you can focus slightly more on WIND Geminis. Gemini Decks have always suffered from a lack of consistancy per Types and Attributes, which this is trying to help with.

Fervent Pyromancer: Again, this is support designed to have no role other than to get your effects active.

Witch of the Phoenix: I submitted this picture to your 'Make cards from a song' contest, with a completely different field-destruct effect.

Elven Swordsmistress: This does have the Synchros in mind, hence its generic effect (for use with 'Bloodsworn Assailant') and ability to set up 'Phoenix Archer' (for use with 'Crimson Samael').

Phoenix Archer: I knew that unlimited Special Summoning would have put people in mind of 'Plaguespreader', and that they would be gaining their effects a lot, so once per duel was an obvious decision. Its effect would be geared to reclaiming some of the FIRE/Warrior supporting Equips, some of the new support cards I've designed, and 'Supervise' to equip to the Synchro you're summoning. When the Synchro gets destroyed, it might Special Summon a Gemini through its own effect while 'Supervise' Special Summons a second. The other point is that since it reclaims any 'treated as an Equip' card, it can also bring back any previously-equipped Monsters or Traps.

Thank you for such an in-depth review. And I'm glad you like them.

7 new cards, 'Autumn Blessings', 'Brazen Double Summon', 'Phoenixian Feathers', 'Yanluo's Decree', 'Autumnal Spirits', 'Fleeting Sunlight' and 'Into the Fire' added, completing the Spell and Trap Cards.

Also, if you like Geminis, check out another one: http://forum.yugiohcardmaker.net/topic/264728-md-supraquarian-alexa/page__fromsearch__1

the problem with Phoenixian Feathers is that you get a monster to equip to this card, but this card doesn't do anything for it

other than that the rest are fine
It Special Summons the monster (which is any Gemini/Gemini Support Monster) from the Graveyard for a very small cost. That's the point of it. It's a counterpart to 'Re-Fusion' and 'Fulfillment of the Contract', both 800 LP-fuelled Special Summon equips that banish the equipped monster when they are destroyed.

Alright, lets continue my ratings.

Scarlet Sword Master
I always found it strange that Swordsmistress is 1 word and Sword Master is 1. Meh, just something that's on my mind.
Anywho, it's self summoning. Which is always nice. It's lower ATK kinda ballances that out. It's Summoning effect is also ballanced out considering the Gemini summoning and needing an Equip Spell.
So overal an good card.

Verdent Elven
Another WIND, huh. Well at least it fits the theme.
Interesting effect, basicly it's both flodder for 'Evocator' and the like, while also allowing extra Equips to be added to your hand when you decide to Gemini this. It's also nice it doesn't just Sp.Summon itself when the equipped mon is destroyed but also when it's Synchro'd. Allowing a lot more Synchro flodder.
So beside being another oddball in its Attribute, it's a good support card.

Vermillion Librarian
Mhh, basicly an more usefull 'Tuned Magician'. Really nice. I expecially like the requirements for the burn effect. It really widens the target then just saying 'Unions'/'Equip Spells'.
Not much more to say about it beside it being a good card.

Vulcan Heroine
Mhh, I'm not exactly seeing how this would be selected in the Deck. But ok, the draw effect is quite nice. As these cards run out of cards in an blazing tempo.
Though I'm not so shure about the OCG. Wouldn't 'skip' be 'before'. Or did you meant something entirely different?

Vulcan Princess
Excelent support for Equip Decks and Equip Gemini's. Also allowing cards like 'Burden' become an Equip really increases flodder for 'Evocator' and such. Excelent work.

Fenghuang
I know I was saying the same about 'Seraph' but this also is an great boss card. Perhaps it could even be combined with one and other O.o
Enough amazement, the Special Summoning of this is just brilliant. It's praticly indestructable when run in multiples. Sp. SUmmon this till win OR banish this to fill your grave for another one.
Actually I think it might even be slightly OP. Perhaps you can ditch the single tribute effect?
But after it's slightly tuned down it should be fine.

Now finally onto the Spell. And look! More have been added! Jolly! -_-
Now onto the cards.

Autumn Blessing
Mhh, I like how it's able to activate itself. It basicly means insta-fuel for 'Evocator' and like. Also self-searching effect is interesting aswell. I'd say it's ballanced enough.

Autumn Heat
I remember you saying something about this kind of cost. And I must say it really worked out well. It's a nice burn while allowing you to draw. Excelent work.

Brazen Double Summon
I really dislike this pic. Other then that I already commented on this card in the NDL. So I'll leave it with that.

Dual Drain
I like this card, it's basicly an 1 turn Skill Drain when played right. Making it a Quick-Play was an absolute must aswell. Great work.

Phoenixian Feather
Already commented on this in the NDL. So nothing more to say about it.

Scarlet Core
Mhh, interesting card. I have 1 question though. Does the attached card count as being equipped? If so, it's a really usefull card. If not, well then it's somewhat UP.

Vulcanic Burst
Simple but effective. Just like its img.

Yanlou's Decree
Brilliant effect and just what the doctor described. If played right it'll give and awesome drawing power or field advantige.
Just a brilliant piece of work. One of the best cards in this set yet.

Now finally onto the Traps.

Autumnal Spirits
Mhh, really nice. And I'm not just talking about the img. The 2nd clause restricts the use of some monster or other Continues Magic/Trap cards from abusing that it can't destroy cards.
And the saveproof of Sp.Summoning when it's destroyed is nice aswell. Nice addition.

Fleeting Sunlight
Mhh, basicly a less negatable Gemini version of 'Seven Tools'. Can come in handy to negate 'Mirror Force' or 'Dimensional Prison' and the likes.
Not bad, but I've expected more for some reason.

Into the Fire
I really don't see how that img reprecents someone going into the fire. As it's just someone flying in the evening sun.
Onto it's effect. Now this is what I meant with more. It both fules the Grave Sp.Summoners while helping you get your Gemini's onto full strenght. It's 2ndary effect is slightly less usefull, but can be handy to stop 'DAD' & 'Chaos' Decks. So it's nice aswell, I gues.
Overal an nice card.

Solar Constellation
Baicly a costless 'DDR'. But it's more limited so it's fine.

Vengeful Shiryo
Burn and a draw. Nice, it does require some luck. But seeing the current Meta, I don't see any problems in that.

Overal this is excelent support for FIRE Gemini's. Most of them are ballanced and even the ones that are not, are not that far from being ballanced.

I'd give the set in total a 9.4/10

Scarlet Sword Master: That was just because 'Sword Master' looked better on the card compared to 'Swordmaster', nothing else.

Verdent Elven: I'm sick of making EARTH Warriors, and this clearly wasn't FIRE, so WIND it became.

Vulcan Heroine: 'Selected in the Deck' is my way of saying when it is brought out through the use of 'Searing Hellhound' or 'UFO Turtle'. At the moment, Konami seems to be in confusion as to the correct way to word the skip damage calculation effect, since that is one of about three versions I've seen.

Fenghuang: I'll get rid of the single-tribute effect, given that all the Level 7+ Geminis lack it.

Scarlet Core: The monster is not equipped, for it is attached instead. It is designed to provide the trump card monsters like 'Magical Cerise' and 'Phoenix Channeler' extra fuel for their effects, and to protect them from destruction effects. And because it isn't an Equip Card, it isn't vulnerable to cards like "MST" and the like. It is a breakaway card, but is to help the trumps stay on the field longer rather than bring the victory quicker.

Fleeting Sunlight: It's simple because it is a counterpart to the woeful 'Gemini Counter', this time designed to stop the more-common Trap Cards.

Into the Fire: The full image, to my mind, shows either a desert storm (heat) or a distant explosion throwing up earth. Regardless, it's supposed to be one half of the saying 'Out of the pan, and into the fire'; which represents things getting worse and worse. The last effect is almost symbolising the intense heat vaporising the affected monsters (similar to 'Big Burn'), and is a slightly anti-Chaos/Zombie edge.

I'll fix up the points you've raised. Thanks again for rating.

The Extra Deck monsters will be up shortly. Feel free to rant at them if you wish...

for Enchanter, I'm surprised you didn't mean as long as this card remains face up on the field, that selected card can't leave the graveyard
That is what it means. Since it doesn't specify an end to the effect (unlike 'Phoenix Paladin'), the effect ends as soon as 'Phoenix Enchanter' leaves the field.

for Confit Angel, you may want to consider the 2nd attack can't be a direct one if it's atk power is high enough

too easy OTK set up
In my mind, it's balanced by the fact that firstly, you need to Gemini Summon it to get its effect, which considering a lot of Gemini Summoning cards either bounce or Set the affected monster at the end of the turn, is not a good thing for a Synchro with low DEF. Secondly, it is actually quite a difficulty to get out. Mainly because the only Tuners avaliable to you are 'Phoenix Archer' and 'Phoenix Dragon', the former is high-enough in Level to favour a Level 6 or higher Synchro Summon, while the latter needs external support to be used.

As for the non-Tuners, you have 'Searing Hellhound' (the best option, but only useable with 'Phoenix Dragon'), 'Solaris Chara' (which you would have discarded for its searching effect), 'Phoenix Cherub/Virtue' (both geared towards a non-Synchro strategy) and 'Aurora Mage'/'Fervent Pyromancer' (both of which are better in the hand). It may well be capable of end-game (especially considering it turns 'Chthonian Emperor Dragon' into a triple-attacker for the turn), but it's difficult to get out, needs to be Gemini Summoned, can't really defend itself and doesn't share its Attribute or Type with the main monsters in this set, so is in actuality almost unsupported.

Enchanter
Mhh, with the high Swarming abillities of these cards. That boost can be really helpfull. Expecially for the lower Powered mons.
Also, the Gemini Summon eff, is nice aswell.
Overal a good card on which I have nothing against.

Paladin
Mhh, at first I thought. OMG that negation power is OP! But then I noticed it would also be stuck in Normal mode when used. Which, imo, I find a brilliant cost. And it being a Gemini also limits its uses even more. The 'Ancient Gear' for 1 turn effect is a nice touch aswell. Stopping your most powerfull cards from being 'Dimension Prison' or 'Mirror Force' beat.

Overal these are nice additions to an already nice set.

I'd give the set in total a 9/10
Great job Max.
