TwinSeed
Eliza looked to James, who stared straight ahead. "James...?" He slowly turned his head towards her, his eyes empty, except for the fear residing in them. "Oh, Liz, you're in Hell too?" A wave of confusion and worry swept over her like a tidal wave. "James, you aren't dead. I'm not dead either." He couldn't comprehend what just happened, so he sat there. Motionless. The world was dead to him. After a few long moments, he fell. He simple fell over, lying on his side. James... She thought long and hard, trying to come up with a cure. This would typically be easy, if she knew just what had happened to them. Joey, who'd been watching the whole thing since Eliza was cowering on the floor, walked up to his friends. "Eliza... Eliza, you're okay!" He exclaimed with joy. It was only then that the world returned to James, and he scurried away from the new voice. Stay away, stay away... He chanted the mantra in his head over and over, not trusting anyone. "James, it's okay." Eliza attempted to reassure him, though she was certain that things weren't 'okay'. She sighed heavily and dropped to the floor. "Jo," she called to Joey by his nickname. "Yeah, Liz?" "I need you to go get the soil from my room that I was working on earlier." Not knowing why she wanted it, but feeling needed again, he ran back to her room and fetched the loose, potted dirt. "What're you gonna do?" He asked, handing it to her. "I may have a solution to James's... well, I may be able to help James." She picked her bookbag up from the floor and pulled out a hakk leaf. "If I'm right," she said while sprinkling some of the soil into it, "in theory, this should make James forget the last hour. Then, we'll just need to explain it to him. The problem is getting him to eat this..."
Asriel Dreemurr
Thaddeus, having lifted himself up from the ground quite a while ago, found himself quite irritated that the succubus had simply ignored him and, as was the nature of a chaos sorcerer, he found himself coming up with quite the enjoyable plan to obliterate her. He knew the variety of demon and whats more he knew that there was no possible way that the particular succubus he had seen there had any way of knowing what his powers were. In the mean time, he had the scroll and there were still demons running about. He "calmly" strolled out of the building, leaving the trio of students to handle the aftermath of whatever they had just experienced. He had charged up quite a large amount of chaos in preparation for the first encounter, but knew that unleashing it now could provide the enemies with knowledge of his power. He decided to once again call out the stream of chaos, this time roughly six inches long and emerging from the tip of his stave, as he returned to the scene of the battle. In only a few moments, he was well on his way to relaxing a bit. The stream hurtled through the air at his command, passing from demon to demon as each one was struck down in one way or another. Some were dealt a single killing blow through the head and others were skewered again and again until their bodies simply fell apart. Slowly he built a roughly seven meter circle around himself within which there were no demons and none dared to come. His path was gradually taking him back towards were Lavi was, and he had since forgotten about the students which he had passed on his way towards the Dormitory. GreyCat
The golden motes, the gateposts that Lavi set earlier, flared then imploded, fizzing out as they did. The momentary drag on his magic gave him a headache, but he stood, alert and wary, making sure the girl was gone. That only lasted for a few seconds. The fact that his gateposts drag that much magic from him meant that the girl was gone. Really gone. They were set to trail her, but she teleported so far that they lack the magic to follow. He sighed, and slumped to the ground, taking deep breaths to gather magic from around him. It seemed she really was one of the old Leo bloodlines. It wasn’t his fault though. He did his best to gather the lore of his family, and as much from the lost bloodlines. He had plans to visit England to recover some books and artifacts he managed to track down. A drop of water hit him. And another. And another. Soon, a fairly steady drizzle was falling. He smiled and looked up. Little arcs of lightning leapt from cloud to cloud and struck at the city. Jaman’s storm spell. He must have had help. It normally took him an hour or more to do a storm calling. At least the weather already called for rain. Lavi pushed himself to his feet. There were still some demons left to slay, and he had a call to make. There were several magical items at his home that would come in handy if things kept up this way. If he asked nicely, his mother could get them to him by morning. He would help with the clean up until then. Speaking of which, some sort of commotion was heading his way. Where the demons fighting among themselves? No, it was more like someone venting their anger on them. In fact, it looked like... He leapt back as a stream of chaos impaled the spot her was occupying. "Please watch your aim, Thaddeus. Not everyone in this area is a demon."
TwinSeed
ooc: I trailed off there for you to help, Keto. Eliza stood back up, after rolling the dirt into the leaf, and attempted to coax James over to her. He sat there though, watching the two of them, timid as a rabbit. "Jo, go back to the room. I think he's afraid of you." Joey did as he was told, returning to Eliza's destroyed room. From the inside, he looked around at the mess. Then he noticed something green on the floor; something bright in the rubble. Wandering up to it, he crouched down. Confused and curious, he lifted it up. Only a second later he realized what it was and busted out in a hysterical laugh. Who knew that Liz wore underwear like this!? Focusing on her ill friend, Eliza slowly walked towards him, crouched. She held the leaf out to him. "Here, just eat this and you'll feel better." Asriel Dreemurr
Thaddeus took notice of Lavi's presence, smirking a bit as he saw how he had frightened his fellow TA. His face quickly returned to its usual scowl as the stream burst forth from the ground to tear one of the nearer demons in half before moving into the air to circle about just above his head. His gaze fell across the whole of his surroundings, searching for any of the foes too stupid or brave to come within the range of his strike. For the moment, none of them were coming in too close, merely grouping up into a circle around him just about seven meters out. He knew that he could stretch the strike further, but the return time to strike again would suffer a bit if he opted to strike at just one of them. "Oh quit whining, Lavi." He stated with just a little bit of contempt in his voice as he continued to look about the horde. "These demons aren't particularly strong, but their numbers certainly seem to be compensating for that." As if on queue, three of the demons lunged in from surrounding positions. He bid his time, waiting for them to come closer, before sending the stream whirl through the air in a circular motion. The triple-edged stream spun about its axis rapidly enough to become a sort of drill, boring cleanly through the heads of the three demons before hurtling straight into the air above him. About a second later it detonated, sending razor sharp shards of various shapes and sizes hurtling out towards the demons encircling him. Most were struck down, and those that did not soon felt the shards explode and produce a large cavity within their bodies which soon collapsed in on itself, sucking in the demonic flesh surrounding it. "Now then," he stated, having to pause for a moment to regain his focus on the world around him, "I could use some assistance with this threat." OOC: Sorry Twin I didn't realize that was what you were doing. Even if I had I was a bit angry when I made that last post.
GreyCat
Lavi conjured six balls of magic, three the silver gold of his stellar aura and three the orange gold of his solar. He pointed in the general direction of the demons, setting the orbs on them like a swarm of wasps. They shot off like comets, striking the demons over and over. Where the solar orbs struck, flames sprang forth, where the stellar ones stung, chunks of demon flesh disintegrated. He idly conducted the movements with lazy wavings of his finger. With his free hand, he point up to the clouds and the rain that accompanied it. "Jaman has made his move, so I suppose this incident will be more or less under control soon," he informed Thaddeus. His coworker had the annoying tendency to get so absorbed in his own little chaos world he forgot what was going one around him.
((OOC: NPC Character introduction, not they will do anything: Kekoe Jaman. The chair of the geography department and a weather shaman and one of the most power mages at the school. He rattled his bracelet and moved another stone around his magic diagram. “Too little, too late. The funeral was already a heavily publicized event. There were about four news teams there. News of this attack with be impossible to contain.” “The PR control teams are-,” the first offered, but was cut off by the arrival of another. “He’s right and you know it,” A portly woman said as she emerged from the roof access door. She held an umbrella up, not intending to let her hair get wet. “It’s not clear, but I see it. The tech mages cannot control this one. Already, chatter is spreading through twitter, youtube and facebook. I knew those things would be our downfall.” “That means we have two disasters on our hands.” The first speaker looked down on the chaos that took the city below. “I can only hope we will rise to the occasion.”
Murar Bonefang
By the time Akira finally made it inside the dorms, all was silent. Eliza was seen hunched up beside one of the other guys. The scared git was pale and looked scared. He focused at Eliza and asked what took place there and whether people were all right. A moment later the weird beast man also seen running to the place, Akira made up his mind, if this "thing" was to be sighted, there might be problems. Akira cleverly indicated the beast to enter one of close by unused rooms. He wanted to know more about this guy. Making sure that there was nothing he could do at that place,Akira headed to room the hell beast had just entered. As he entered, he closed the door, and said to the hell beast "who are you? how did you get here ?" the beast silent for a moment, and then gravely replied, "I do not repeat what I have already informed". Akira was cussing already,"Come on, i got knocked out mr. hell beast. How do you expect me to remember what you said to me ?? and that too in the middle of an invasion of unknown shodowy creatures?" Anyways, i will call you Mr. Hell Beast from now on, Yaju sama in short. At this Yaju sama was clearly flustered. "I am from the noble house of Capricorn, and you got the cheek to call me that ? A Yaju ?" screamed Yaju sama. "Oh, wait, let me decide another name for you" pipped in Akira. "Enough", bellowed Yaju sama "my Name is Jigoku Hitsuji, the Ram from Hell. I am here to assist you in your quest to learn magic of the great house of Capricorn, since in your blood flows magic. And i demand you call be something more respectable" oh well, i will call you Hitsuji then. said Akira. "there happens to be sama somewhere. "yeah, that was pretty much easy., all i had to do was to close the clasp both my palms and my left index finger and right thumb pointed upwards" said a confident Akira. Hitsuji sama approved of it, and said, now do practice this regularly and try to learn from your teachers how to be a better mage. Oh, and if you were to call me out, do the Hitsuji seal and then focus all your energy towards the ground. No go take rest, I will be back later, partner" said Hitsuji, as the gaint figure slowly started to descend into the floor.
Asriel Dreemurr
Thaddeus simply nodded to acknowledge Lavi's statement, knowing that the elderly shaman's spell would give them an edge in this battle. He looked around, still finding many demons present and ample ambient chaos to fuel his spells. Once more, the talisman hanging from his staff began to glow faintly blue and green as he built up the energies which he would need within it. He turned to face the direction opposite that which Lavi had chosen for his previous attack. The Chaos Sorcerer noticed another group of demons approaching with incredible quickness, and he knew that now was the perfect time to use this particular technique. He clenched his left hand in front of his chest while he raised his staff into the air. Faint, transparent waves akin to those one might see radiating off a hot surface could be seen passing through the air and coalescing around his staff as he closed his eyes for a moment. "Energies of war and destruction, gather and excite the elements," He stated, before opening his eyes and seeing the demons much closer than they had been mere moments ago. "Tear those who make themselves my foes asunder, come forth Winds of Chaos!" As he completed the incantation, he brought his staff down parallel to the ground and opened his left hand, pointing it towards the tip of the staff. The instant that this stance was taken, a conical blast of blue and green energy shot from the staff and whirled about itself like a tornado. The demons were engulfed in moments, and found themselves suddenly being ripped apart by invisible blades from every side and felt the energies of chaos itself burning them with every single tear. As the wind passed, the demons were left as mere piles of semi-burnt chunks of their former selves. Rather than risk loosing control of this much greater amount of chaos, Thaddeus forces it to disperse before it could harm any of the innocents gathered there. While he was not bearing the physical exhaustion that would have come from calling out chaos outside of such a battle, he was feeling the mental strain of the necessary focus to control the energies which he wielded. Already his forehead was throbbing and he felt sharp pains across the back of his skull, and he knew that they were going to have to kill the demons more efficiently. Jake the Sage
Time Skip: Three Days Later . . . Hidden away from everyone the group whom had caused the chaos earlier in the week and was gathered around a portable TV with horrible reception. Their arms crossed they laughed and joked around as they watched the news reel which kept being showed over and over again; of them forcing the revelation of magic. Spotting herself Tamane paused it and pointed to herself, "See they even managed to catch me on camera! "Yeah and it's true the camera adds ten pounds," Rath insulted and deflected her long nails with his scales and gripped her, struggling to contain her without waking his boss. Tapping both of them on the head Addi almost seemed to scold them into stopping before looking up at the long passage way which lead to the bed chambers, "What is Master thinking having us keep low like this? The keys are right for the picking . . ." "Maybe we should get them while Boss sleeps." "That would not be advisable," the slime stated in a monotone voice oozing out of a puddle of water towards Rath, who scoffed at being told no. Forming into her human shape she looked at everyone unamused, "Our leader wishes for it to be confirmed where each key is before we strike. Until then you must all 'amuse' yourselves without being caught." Disappearing back into the watery surface the three looked at each other, grinning and eyebrows raised, and spoke at nearly the same time, "Without being caught she says . . ." GreyCat
Second Lock- Key to Knowledge; Flaming Ring -before the time skip- The silver glow reached the eyes of the statues guarding the edges of the monument. Glyphs glowed on their foreheads, and they moved. With heavy grindings and grating of stone, they raised their hands skyward. The centermost stature, the one that was carved in the likeness of the one buried beneath it, bowed its head and held its hands together, manifesting a ghostly sphere between them, hiding within a collection of shafts and rods and hoops and cogs, shifting and cranking without a care for our world; wavering and crystalline and shimmering and taunting to all. The Key of Spirit. Despite the fact that it was there in plain sight, it was untouchable. Merely an image, a mirage, a dream made real. But the unobtainable nature of the prize only added oil to fire. The keys were not mere myth. No, far from it. Here was proof it existed. A piece of an incomplete puzzle, awaiting the rest.
-After timeskip- A lone figure approached the monument. Not the one of the recently buried headmaster, but the one of a long past founder. He gazed up at the sad stone eyes that gazed knowingly back at him. Dressed in plain clothing, he wouldn’t have attracted any attention, and he didn’t. Taking the last few steps with slow reverence to the dead monarch, he drew close to the base of the statue. With the back of a hand, he swept clean the stone foundation, removing the detritus that accumulated on and around the plaque bearing the dedication, despite the wind and rain. Below the plaque, a round brass disk was embedded in the stone. He pressed his palm to it and uttered a word of power. The metal flowed and reformed into a slot. Reaching into the pocket of his coat, he withdrew a wallet, and from that, he drew a key, sliding said key into the space he made moments before. “Old man, I hope you know what you were doing,” he muttered, turning the lock, releasing a slow stream of magic from its reservoir below. His task done, he walked away, thoughts heavy.
Original Lock- Key to Beginning, Flaming Ring Ages Long Past, Time forever Gone The others echoed the proclamation, with stunned awe. The once noisy, once silent room filled once more with sound, this time of happiness, shock, pleasure and hope. From the shadows of the room they came, a dozen save one, to embrace the five. “It long last, he is sealed away.”
Asriel Dreemurr
Thaddeus was, according to his custom, alone. He was enjoying the brief cancellation of studies at the academy if only for the day. In the mean time he had yet to unfurl the scroll and uncover the details within and was instead busying himself in his preferred manner, seated in the study of the large home within which he resided whilst surrounded on all sides by open grimoires having to deal with the magics of chaos. As was common for all books written on the subject, they were written in the curious unspoken language used by practitioners of that particular art. He had received a message earlier that day that Lavi would be coming by, and possibly bringing a few students who could benefit from Thaddeus' particular knowledge. "Younglings coming to learn from me." He thought aloud, rising from the particularly intricate chair in which he sat before an equally intricate desk. He strode around to the front, careful not to step on any of the tomes laying about on the ground, and coming to stand facing his desk and the intricate mural of a gargantuan battle being raged between green-skinned humanoid creatures and giant men in bright red armor. "While I doubt any of the students would have real interest in the chaotic arts, perhaps there could be SOME benefit to giving them a little show." A rare smile crossed his face, before vanishing as he turned about and made his way through the Foyer and into the well-provisioned kitchen contained in the house. A well-used iron kettle sat atop an equally well-used gas stove and was whistling away to its little nonexistent heart's content. An empty cup upon a nearby counter gratefully received the hot water as the kettle was removed and poured out into it. A mix of herbal tea was already in the cup, held inside a perforated metal ball. He now stood in the kitchen, allowing his tea to steep while he awaited his guest or guests.
