No, it's my first year in college. Doesn't mean I can't hate it.
True, I've yet to take Calculus, but I'm not even sure I'll need to (tested out of Calc 1 & 2 with AP credits)

It really is only necessary if you're working in architecture, engineering, or computer sciences... and any other sciences. Teachers aren't kidding when they say that everything has math... except for literature, languages, history, humanities, and in some cases, music.

Then drop i- oh right, you're still in high school :3

I'll see what I can do, I'm currently writing the more important scenes in the series so I can get out chapters faster.
I'm most certainly not in High School. :P

Freshman in College.

I completely forgot about that tournament, actually, but I was thinking about my tournament. Look at my signature. As for what your tournament should be called, consider whoever is hosting the tournament and what they would call it.

I think I've read a couple chapters of your series, but I suppose I'll have to find time to read Hidden Legacy and Umbra's The Dark Doorway.

Math becomes a gradually more useless subject as you advance through school. I mean, yes, you can learn stuff crucial to your career choice, but then all that does is limit the uses of the subject.
The original series (the first two seasons/60 episodes), were I suppose decent (and essential) from a story standpoint, but they were poorly written. I did my best to recap everything in the first two episodes of Season 3, which is a much different style (the original two were in script format for the majority before I started to learn much of anything about writing), and so far people have had good things to say for the most part. Just wish there were more readers. :(

Well I'm going for Marketing, but I didn't think there would be this much basicmath, which is really my weak point, whereas English related classes are my strength.

And Aggro, whatever works, bro.
Then do what I did with my CS302 and f***ing drop it. >:\

Also: Marketing = working the numbers; numbers = math. You should have seen this coming from a mile away.

EDIT: basic summary of high school -> college transition:

Math & Sciences: More work, less time; tougher work
English: More reading more time; no increase in difficulty

I love college lit. :D

Guys, I have a question.

Experiment being transported to another planet?

Experiments (except one) go wrong and get free?
Definitely a good idea that could be developed in many ways. Would it be from the perspective of the experiment, or from the ones trying to hunt them down? What effect would they have on wherever they were headed? Are the experiments sentient or simply mindless killing machines?

You've got something interesting for you right there.

Not really, though. Marketing is more advertising, coming up with creative ideas to draw more business, things like that. Finding the best solutions to really get your name out there. I think Accounting leans more towards numbers, to be honest.

I can't drop it, though, because if I do I'll go below 12 credits, which means I won't be full-time and I'll lose my state assistance.
Well, of course Accounting is MORE numbers. Accounting is ALL numbers. But Marketing is statistics, knowing who you're audience is and getting them to buy you're product. The entire first part is all math (because statistics is basic math, even if it's not calculus in the slightest)

Oh... state assistance. Yeah, I was able to drop down to 9 credits somehow, and it didn't affect anything, even how long it'll take me to graduate. But yea, only taking 12 credits my first year was a bad choice, shudda taken that extra one to avoid any problems.

Right then, seeing as everyone is going to ignore our NEW APPLICANT MEMBER (pokes star), then I'm going to ignore everyone else

By 1. do you mean like alien experiments coming to Earth or Earth experiments going to space?

Either way more inclined towards option 2.

Cool, not arguing about that, just thought everyone had missed him XD

I can stop ignoring everyone now.

Regarding tournaments, I love tournaments as long as you can make them genuinely unpredictable as to which hero's and villians will do well. For example it was obvious Yusei would win the Fortune Cup/5D's would win WRGP, but Yuma winning the WDC? Can't see it. Kaito or Shark? Hmm. IV, well Shark will beat him. Tron? See what I mean. Hopefully it will be a front and the winning the tournament won't mean stopping the bad guys, so hopefully it will be a little unpredictable yet meaningful. Hopefully...

In my defense, Math is an awful, awful subject and the only class I'm doing poorly in.

Maths is the most important subject right up until you're about 14, then it gets needlessly complicated for my liking. Calculus however, if you can do it has multiple career uses.

Can't comment on the American school system, but I worked in an accounts for a week. I hated it, and on paper it should have been a job I'd do well at. The jobs I've had since pay less and involves more labour, but I prefer them infinitely.

Marketing will involve some maths though because there's two types of market research; Quantative (surveys based on Numbers) and Qualitative (spoken fedback through focus groups and stuff).

Yeah, I did Business at college.

Well, I've been out of the writing game for a while, but have gotten back into it again, and things are going along swimmingly. I think if I make an outline of the first couple of chapters, then start writing, and then write a duel flow chart of exactly how I want the duel to go, things will probably end up a lot more stable and more concrete than some of my previous works.

Anyways, I'm almost done with Chapter 1 for me, and seeming as how I saw this was past the first page, I'd decide to give it a bump, seeming as how no one is really active anymore.

Well there was a very fluent conversation between several people that saw a ton of posts over a few hours.

Unfortunately the nature of this club means its never gonna be like Gaming Central or Vocaloid Project or Fake Type Knights...

But we're still cool. :)

Anyway I've not done much on my fic for the last few days, kinda been doing other things and worrying about how my computer will probably blow up just after I start writing. But I've been doing some maths in my head and the fgiures aren't good at present.

There are currently 15 Numbers.

By the week Feb 1st when I intend to actually open the fic, we might have 20... maybe.

I've worked out that in total with all the battles and conflicts and storyline stuff and general whose fighting who, I need a minimum of 27 Numbers.

Oh and I forget, out of the current 15; Giganto is unspectacular, Freezerdon is awkward to use, Illumknight would only be relevant in Fabled or Dark World, Goldrat is just plain awful, and Lucky Stripe I can only think of 1 way to really summon that, and the guy who could summon it, it wouldn't be appropriate for (saying that even though I haven't looked at its effect yet. Saving it for Zexal).

And with a frigging camera monster and a rotten vegetable the next two to come out, yeah, that's not great.

You're a cardmaker in your off-day, and I will always keep telling you:

It's okay to make Custom Numbers Cards.

Look:

I made that just the other day. It's a custom Numbers card! I wonder why Matt can't make spare cards to make up for the number of characters in his story. [/sarcastic tone]

Joking aside of course, it's a Fan-Fiction. It doesn't have to cater to real-life. You are the writer. You are the conductor. You are the lead repairman. You are.....I don't know, some other stoic career opportunity that sounds really good on paper.

I would love to do custom cards in a fic... but I'm kind of in the way of it has to be all or nothing, either all real cards or all made-up ones.

I don't have the imagination or the time or the skill anymore to come with all these cards.

I don't know it might not work out to bad, its not like all 27 are going to be needed for Chapter 1. The point of the fic is to be one of the first of the Zexal/4th generation era, to be using fresh cards and archtypes, like the Numbers and the Wind-Ups, the Evol, the Inzecters (finally got them worked in now) and so on, so if I'm using a Number 3 weeks after it appeared in the show then thats fine.

Ps: Why would anyone use the summoning effect of your monster if it means sacrificing need full invinsibility to everything bar Dimensional Prison?

Perspective of the experiment. And the experiment is a human experimented on in an attempt to make a "Super Soldier".

Cold and lonely in here guys.

Been neglecting reading duties recently, will get back to it when I can.
Oh Hai Thar *LIGHTS A FIRE*

You've been neglecting reading duties and I've been neglecting writing duties, so we're all even. Though, then again, I have been writing my fic, just not the parts that are directly next in the story. In other words, I can't post new chapters because I'm writing the important ones so that whatever I write next will be cohesive with what will happen. A stroke of brilliance? Maybe. Probably not, but at least I'm writing SOMETHING, no? I'll look at what I've got and if I think it's enough I'll write the next chapter for ya'll. We'll just have to see when that is though.

Keep writing there, fanpeople.

So I'm back, though I'll be significantly less active on the site as a whole with the exception of Fan Fiction from now on, I think. I'm putting Hidden Legacy on hold for now to work on a new project I came up with; it's one I'm actually looking forward to working on, though it might not be well received at all and if that's the case, I won't continue to write it past the pilot.

It is a YuGiOh story, but it's different from a lot of the others in the sense that the main character has no idea how to duel, and before the story's beginning, has no idea what the game even is. It should be an interesting test episode, at least.

I'd love to get some feedback on that once it's all good to go.
