Mew 2.0
Shino was chopping down trees for firewood, as he normally did during the weekends. His axe had not failed him in ever since he first purchased it, which added to the shock when, out of the blue, it broke. Thats a little odd he thought Oh well, guess I better go to the market and get one. Shino mounted his horse and, carrying 500 gold with him, set out from his isolated farm to make the half-hour journey to the nearest town. At the same time, a pure-bred human bounty hunter was also there. His name was Bane Carriage and he was out to kill. His target was a wealthy pheonix-hybrid trader who was overcharging for clothing. What have I sunk to he asked himself I was going after politicians, dragon-hybrids. 5 years a go I wouldn't have accepted and offer less than a killer and now... the only job I can find is a clothing merchant. Of coarse , some gold was better than no gold. And so the knife was plunged into the merchant's heart, right in the middle of the crowded street. Justice Master
"And then BAM!" Sicarius smacked his fist which held his drink against the amazingly weak pub table. Some speculate that it got shorter because of this, but no one is sure. Nonetheless, The fierce Sicarius' tale was attracting quite a crowd. "So there I was," he continued, "this man had his bow, he had just skinned my arm with a arrow and was reloading. I had no sword or bow of my own, they had both been broke, which is something I HIGHLY recommend you do not do. This man had already enraged me, and then he has the goddamn nerve to go and pull out a bow! Oh, no! So I did what no assassin would do, I took advantage of the weapon I was born with, my fist! One hit the face, one in the stomach, and one in his silly little weapon!" An uproar occured among the audiance, just what he was hoping for. He took a grand drink of his brew. I mean where's the fun in killing if you can't tell an epic story. He smilled as the crowd cheered him and his greatness, which even he knew was nonexistant, but refused to say so. He began to speak once more, "alright, alright! Then there was this one great time..."
radio414
One Second... Two Seconds... Time was slowing down. The world had come to a standstill. It was forever, between those hours where servants would come in, and provide Aeris, King of the Magestic Phoenix, whatever he wanted. An eternity between calls to the War Room, where he would make an executive decision, and retreat to his chambers. There was a time where everything actually went quickly. There was less time to relax before some military strategy needing his orders again, and servants showed up almost continuously. It must be the war. Everyone is on edge because of the war It was a lie, and Aeris knew it. He was surrounded by people who wanted to kill him, even if it was only a subconscious urge. People were getting worried that he was going mad. A burnt village here, some highwaymen left untaken care of there, Everyone was just plain worried that Aeris, their figurehead, was breaking. Aeris needed an escape. That's what he needed. He needed to be able to take in the world from the other side of his likeness on a stained glass window. Aeris began the process of anthropomorphization. One minute of meditation, focusing on his desired form. He liked this one. Either it was the pity in peoples' faces as they pitied their king, or the shock on his enemies as he became a little bit more dangerous, but it was farmilliar. *** One Second... Two Seconds... The world had stopped. Oona was out in the forest again, looking for her ribbon, and it seemed to be taking forever to find. Either the pouch had grown legs and ran away from its master, or she wasn't looking hard enough. This was the eleventh time the ribbon had grown legs. And now it was gone. It had ceased to be in Oona's world, mostly because there was nothing. The ribbon had taken all time from it. Of course it hadn't. Just now was sunset, and Oona ran quickly back down the forest path. Now was dinnertime, a time to get a new ribbon. And eat, but who needed eating when there was a new ribbon waiting for her? "Melira, I need a new ribbon." It was how she always opened these requests. Strait and to the point. Melira was a fellow Griffin-Human Hybrid, a small old woman, who despite the village's collective protests, she still supplied Oona with whatever she needed. All Oona had to do was convince her that she needed the item in question. "Do you need it, Oona?" "I need it." Oona's responses were going off like they were rehearsed. They probably were ... "Alrighty then. I'll get you a nice shiny red ribbon." Melira was a senile old lady who had nothing in common with Oona, or even the rest of the village. She was someone to be exploited. Mew 2.0
Shino got into town about 1 hour before sunset, leaving him half an hour to buy the axe and get out. Just as he passed the pub, he heard a tremendous roar escape from the door. Who would I be not to drop by for a second, after business is done. Shino looked around at the many booths, tables and even tents set up. The street changed every week, making each trip an adventure and surprise. However, there was one shop that never moved. It was a blacksmith building that made every good weapons, tool, and armor. It was where Shino was headed and where Bane currently was, as well. Bane, too, heard the noice from the pub. He was easily annoyed these days and a spontaneous burst of yelling didn't help with his temper. So... you know just about everyone here? he was interogating the Blacksmith, an innocent enough fellow who seemed like he gets down to a personal relationship with all his costomers Oh, I'd say just about. Mind you, there's always a few new face every now and then. Right, right. You know a fellow named Sicarius ? I have an... appointment with him. The White Wolf
Akarui took a sip of beer as he listened to Sicarius "You're a fool." he stated from behind him, taking another sip of beer. "Truly a fool, how they believe you, I do not know." Akarui continued "Now then, explain to me," Akarui paused as he turned to Sicarius "if you are truly an assassin, why do you insist on telling us your stories while a true assassin would hide in plain sight and draw no attention to himself?" Akarui asked as he walked to the table, the people around it moving away from him, and took a seat. "Well?"
StealthyTyranitar
(Why did no one tell me this started? I'm AntProtaganist!! Also, Luka eats people.) Luka looked around the room, but finally getting bored, he decided to go get his food. He found a drunkard walking sluggishlly around the street. He didn't think it would be much fun, but he wasn't looking for fun. H eneeded the excitement caused by the people drawn in from the fight. He yelled out in a loud voice, getting people around him, "So, you think you could beat my ina fight? Let's go then." The drunkard looks as if this had been going on for a while, so he charges, with a broken bottle, but someone in the crowd hands him a sword. The drunkard lunges at him, but Luka simply side steps, and flicks the sword into the person who gave the drunkard the sword, landing right in the toe of his boot. More people have gathered now. He then shouts out, "Agua-" a seemingly impossible thing happens. A wave of water suddenlly burts from Luka, and he yells "Magnas!" and the water stops, right around the drunkards boody. "Freezas!" Luka yels, and the man is trapped from neck down, in ice.. He then dicides to have some fun. He sticks his face int he mans face, and spits in his eyes. The man wails in pain. Luka then takes glob of spit of of his eye, forces the mans mouth open, and puts it on his tounge. He dies on the spot, with his head lolled back. Luka pops it in his mouth, and a few of the people gasp. He swallows it, says Freezas again, and lug thhe man off. He stops in a forest, and swallows the man whole. Somebody is staring at him, through the trees, and seems to be frozen in fear. "Serpentoroing." He slithers over to the man, who tries to run away, but he is too late.He sinks his teeth into the mans neck, and it's over. He truns back, and walks to a local bar where he hears lots of shouting going on.
Justice Master
"Looks like we have a smart ass," Siciarius said to the man as he took a seat. He began to explain, "if you really must know, I've been among the 'true' assassins. They're quite boring, just doing their job for the money, or for the kids! Hah! I do it for the pleasure and wealth, and honestly, it is such a buzzkill to go around slaying people and not get one bit of recognition. Yes, it's sloppy, I am well aware but I find no way how you think that every assassin must hide behind the corners of disguises and so on. I believe the 'true' assassin comes out in how quickly and efficantly the target is killed, which you can ask some people in here, I've done." Sicarius' voice became darker as he not only recognized a few people in the room, but this man's questioning of his perfection was frustrating. "To be the most honest person here, you're one of those who catorgizes all of us into people who must keep low. For pansies I say! You know I've been in this job for quite a few years and talked about myself and yet I'm still not caught! That makes me less of an assassin? Hah! That's a laugh, I don't require shields in the form of silence and lies, all I need is a bow, an arrow, and five minutes." He then stared into Akarui's eyes as if some sort of devil. It was Sicarius' nice way of saying "just go now, you're already going to be looked at as an idiot, and I don't like to waste time on idiots." The White Wolf
Akarui chuckled. "Well, if I were your enemy, and during this conversation now, you would most certainly be dead." Akarui stated as he reached his left arm out to Sicarius, only to stop a few inches from his neck. With a flick of his fingers, a short blade revealed itself and extended from the armor on his left arm, stopping no less than a millimeter from Sicariu's neck "You are not the only assassin in this building." he explained. His eyes truly being hidden from Sicarius in the shadow of his hood.
radio414
No, Aeris couldn't get into the bar. To quote the man out front: "You look too much like trouble." Yes, he probably was a lot of trouble to handle. Aeris had been in his eight-years-of-age enough times that he had learned to play the beggar boy who had just recently gotten a huge gift from someone and was looking for more by any means necessary. He had even stolen a pie that was cooling on a windowsill once. It was delicious. Having just lost his prime information source, Aeris loitered. He was a beggar boy, and that's what beggars did. They looked like they deserved sympathy, and that imaginary sympathy turned into money. Simple. The bar was a chancey place, but Aeris had also mastered the art of attracting attention. Make noise, dodge a couple blows, and take a glancing blow to the shoulder. That should inspire someone to haul the drunkard away. So Aeris sat down next to the bar and listened. There was just one problem: Loitering was boring. *** Another day, another ribbon, and an adventure was to be had. Oona was leaving her village. Not that it was the first time or anything. She had ventured into the world multiple times before. It was only now that she was without help. Melira would not be there to supply her things, and neither would any of the hunters. Oona took this very seriously. She wanted to be ready, and whatever Oona wanted, she got. Carefully tying the ribbon arond her little pouch, she reflected on everything that had happened to her up to this point. Her parents died in an accident, and her village was full of idiots. And she was leaving. She did not expect things to go well for her small village.
Mew 2.0
No, he isn't Bane had just entered the building when Akarui had issued the threat to Siciarius. And I suggest you put that away A skeleton walked in and, just as he thought, panic insured and the pub was emptied except for the 3 assassins. Now, let's be good little boys and talk this out. Shino was walking back to the pub with his shiny new axe when a mass of people came out. Shino, being very curious, decided it would be fun to check it out. Tightening his grip on his axe, Shino very cautiously walked toward the pub and listened in on what was about to happen. StealthyTyranitar
(OOC: I'm in there too, btw. Also, if I was the third assassin, I'm the king's right hand man, not an assasin) Luka looked at the skeleton, not afraid. A ton of people scattered, but he held his ground. He drew out his pair swords. They glinted a soft, but deadly looking, green. They were the length of Luka's arm, and were deadly light. He quickly readied a glob of spit in his mouth, and drew back witht the two assassins. He gritted his teeth, and hissed "What is your business here?" Luka was only afraid of one thing, fire. Though skeletons kind of freaked him out a little, too. He was ready to slice the skeletons arm off, and beat it with it.
Justice Master
Siciraius chuckle after his oppenent made the move next to his neck. Notes: 1. don't say things like you'll certainly be dead. 2. Don't make any suspicious moves. Before the two others sat at the table, Sirarius had his bow loaded and pointed at the very screwing up assassin and was holding it. With his feet. "Okay," he began, as they were all there, "who's here to kill who? I mean, I'm off the job currently." He then jumped from the table, grabbed some whiskey, and proceeded to sit and refil his drink. He began once more, "Is anyone else thirsty? We got a full, free bottle of good ol' whiskey."
Agro
To describe how black armor glistens in the quickly dimming light at the end of a summer day would undermine its beauty. And the sleek shine that flashed across the village as "The Blackbird", Dagda Fione fended off the assailing Gyphons. The small contingent of ex-phoenixian forces that had followed Dagda from the ranks of the Great Phoenix army had been attacking a small, military-run village on the outskirts of the country when an invading band of gryphons fell from the sky to join in on the fight. The result was not pretty for either side. One of Dagda's men fell as a gryphon's talon slashed into his torso. In one swing of his blade, Dagda beheaded the hybrid and lay his hand on his soldier, "Can you stand?" The man looked back at him, screaming in agony. "I don't think I'll make it out of this one." Dagda cringed and pulled the soldier over his shoulders. "What are you doing sir?" Dagda smiled, "Like hell, I'm letting you die so soon." With a simple motion, Dagda gathered his forces and retreated out of the city, hoping the gryphons would keep better care of it than the phoenixes. StealthyTyranitar
Luka looked strangely at the man who had just offered tons of jewels. His eyes lit up. with that kind of money, he could hire 4 mercanaries to help him kill the king! He stuck out his hand and shook it. "So, what is this all important job that you have for us. I promise I won't tell." He imagined all the psoobilities, all of which he was good at. Assasination, robbery, or even 'Accidents'. His eyes gleamed at the thought. Not only would it be fun, like the jobs he did sometimes, but it would help him overthrow the king himself!
Mew 2.0
Oh thank god thought Bane, shaking Luka's hand. If everything goes perfectly, we can pull of the job. Still, a third assassin wont hurt, and the pay it do big, it wont make a huge difference if you join. Bane turned toward Sic and, instead of offering his hand, he set down a slip of paper and an ink pen. Both of you sign this, and we're good to go. We can set off early tomorrow, maybe tonight if you're packed. I promise you wont be disappointing. Bane immediately regretted saying that. It was the last thing he said to his last partner, before he walked off a cliff. Bane pretended as if his last bit of speech wasn't a bad omen and pushed the paper closer to his soon-to-be partners.
