Flame Dragon
Now banned in modern. Really said since this makes my Elf deck run so smoothly. Guess it's a legacy deck now.

.Nu-13
To be honest, I can kinda understand banning of GSZ But Ponder and Preordain...
Flame Dragon
To be honest, I can kinda understand banning of GSZ But Ponder and Preordain...
See, I don't think it is that good with the Arbor. Really it's like playing any one drop mana accelerant. It's that it can do that, and be every other green card that you run at once that pushed it over the top. Ponder and Preordain give combo decks WAY to much fuel. Really, the level of dig they allow plays to have is just to much.
-Lightray Daedalus-
I blame this one Also Ponder and Preordain are banned Becuase Abusive Combo Decks where really abusive
CDDRodrigo
o.O Yeah, reason enough.

I stand by the "the collective power of being every good green card in the deck at once" is what pushed GSZ over the top.
CrabHelmet
At least GSZ + Dryad Arbor is kind of a combo in the sense that it gets around the 1 land/turn limit, even though things like Llanowar Elves do the same thing already. GSZ into Tarmgoyf doesn't even have that; it's just a Tarmogoyf except more expensive - the fact that it reshuffles itself means it doesn't even count as a Sorcery in the Graveyard to give a +1/+1 boost if there were none there already. In general, GSZ --> any creature will just be that creature but costlier, and will thus be worse than that creature. It's obviously the be-anything-you-want-at-the-time factor that is the problem, not any one specific good creature it can grab.
