Mandatory "Edited By" in Posts

After the recent confusion in the YCM Awards, i'm asking if it's possible to make it so if a Member Edits a Post it HAS to show the edited by. Looks like loads of people changed their Votes and it was extra hard on the Council to keep up.

I think it would be MUCH better, because if someone bad mouths you, and you point out that they said something,
and then later they edit the part out, and because you forgot to quote it, you look like an idiot.


Also, I think they're should be a seperate box that says "Post edited; Added:<insert edit here>"

It makes posts that people have put a lot of thought into seem a lot messier with the current set-up of the edited line. :I If we could incorporate the "Edited" line somewhere ELSE, then sure. As it is, no support.

Haha. No.

Just because one minor thread is mildly inconvenienced doesn't mean the entire board has to be inconvenienced by having an "edited by" line. It's unslightly and really doesn't add much to the site.

I would support it if the "Edited By..." line wasn't so blatantly hideous. Maybe if it was something smaller and conservative, like just a text line instead, then it would be better. And also, it should include the reason for editing.

Some people don't want that cluttering up their post. An idea I would support is if you could make threads that have edits always show the edit line and ones that don't. That way it would only have to be mandatory for the threads that need it.

In old YCM we had it in the post title, where the time is already. We should still have that, but it's not possible, so we need an edit line.

But some people make quite a bit of mistakes in their posts, and the edit line could be annoying to them. Also I wouldn't want there to be a thread with an edit line in almost every other post. I'm exaggerating I know, but still. And lastly, this really isn't a big enough problem to warrant a change, seeing as it would only help a low selection of threads.
