8GB iPhone or Dead Island?

[spoiler=inb4 attention seeking]My birthday is coming up.

I have either a choice between an 8GB iPhone or a video game which would be Dead Island on the 360, more than likely. I've currently got about 5.5GB of music on iTunes and I get about 150 new songs over the course of a year. I already have a phone and an iPod, but I wanted the iPhone because it's more compact and just all around better. I don't know what to get.

So...I ask you, YCM, to compare the uncomparable.

Which one should I get?

Which one would your rather get?

If I were you, I'd get Dead island

You already have a phone and an Ipod

There's no need to waste money one something you basically have versus wasting it on something totally new

...

or you could watch walkthroughs and get the phone

But I would get the damn game

People actually buy things from Apple? I thought smartphones with internal memory (or even SD cards, really) completely made iPod Touches obsolete. The other iPods have been obsolete, and MacBooks suck. And the iPhone... well, I like my Android phone a lot more, and it clearly has more functionality than an iPhone.

From my standpoint, get the game. And chuck your phone and your iPod to get a smartphone that does both.

Get neither, seriously. For your birthday? Get something that will last, not something that requires a new device in order to be considered "upgraded", and I use that phrase generously because Apple is only good for the extremely casual people, programmers with a certain mindset, or artists with a lot of commissions (and dont use bridge programs). It's only music anyway, it's not important. And if you want a game? Sure, I get them all the time but they're luxury items and nothing more.

Hell, if you can get that amount. Why not pick up something to start a new hobby?

Out of those two choices, the iPhone, simply because it's more expensive to save up and buy than Dead Island, which will only be $60. Plus, in the long run, you can sell the iPhone for more profit than Dead Island, which will drop down considerably in about 4 months.

After careful deliberations, I have decided to go with Dead Island. My reasoning was basically the same as my original concerns I had in my OP; I have 5.5GB+ of songs right now and an 8GB iPhone probably wouldn't cut it in the long run and I can survive off my phone/iPod combo for a few months more and just snag a 32GB iPhone for christmas.

Plus, I'm kind of suspicious that my parents got me a car, as they usually spend alot more than around $50 for my birthday. Anyway, all helpful suggestions (except for the Apple hate spam) was appreciated. And to Yankee and 'raiN, the only reason I didn't do that instead is because there is a metric s***-ton of games coming out around the end of November that I'm going to be asking for christmas and Dead Island would never even begin to make that list, despite how much I want to play it.

To IcyBlue, well, to start I love your sig, but back on track, what kind of hobby would you have me start? There's none that strike me as terribly interesting that I'm not already involved in. And besides, the few hobbies that I would be interested in don't need money to support them, like parkour or writing.
