~OW~ FIRE and WATER Harmony! Novasteam!

An experimental card set I thought of in the shower, believe it or not. It's loosely based on Ice Barriers (Atleast, the WATER ones are). WATER serves as a lock-down set and the FIRE ones have Burn/Destruction effects. Let me know what you think.


Novasteam Rain

Effect: When this card is Normal Summoned: Special Summon 1 FIRE "Novasteam" monster from your hand.

Novasteam Ember

Can only be Special Summoned by Synchro Summon. This card's Type and Attribute is treated as the Type and Attribute of the Tuner monster used to Synchro Summon this card. Once per turn: You can banish 1 WATER monster from your Graveyard to negate the activation of a Spell, Trap, or Effect Monster's Effect and destroy that card or you can banish 1 FIRE monster from your Graveyard to negate the Summon of a monster and destroy that card. When this card is destroyed and sent to the Graveyard (either by battle or by card effect): Special Summon 1 non-Synchro "Novasteam" monster from your Graveyard.

Elemental Harmony

Effect: If you control a face-up WATER "Novasteam" monster: Special Summon 1 FIRE "Novasteam" monster from your hand. If you control a face-up FIRE "Novasteam" monster: Special Summon 1 WATER "Novasteam" monster from your hand. Only 1 monster can be Special Summoned with this card's effect.

One thing I noticed was how big Novasteam Burn's burn effect can get. 400 per card can easily get to 2000 since it takes spells and traps into account, and the going rate at the moment for an OPT burn effect is 1000 (Stealth Bird, lol).

Harmony looks lackluster, since it summons from the hand, and its a trap. Maybe it could summon from the deck the corresponding novasteam from the deck? As in, the one that is the same level as the faceup one.

I don't know how new the idea of getting water and fire to fit together would work, but your name and concept of burn and protection seems to fit the bill. Nice one.

Interesting idea, but you know, you need a Rank 2 Xyz. (Rain into Ember; Ember into Rain)

Needs more support cards. I'm not quite sure what kind of lockdown you're trying to make, but I don't see it. Try to make more WATER ones to see if you can get the temp just right. /punny
