It's loosely based on Ice Barriers (Atleast, the WATER ones are). WATER serves as a lock-down set and the FIRE ones have Burn/Destruction effects. Let me know what you think. Novasteam Rain Type: Aqua Level: 2 Attribute: WATER ATK/DEF: 0/800 Effect: When this card is Normal Summoned: Special Summon 1 FIRE "Novasteam" monster from your hand. Novasteam Ember Type: Pyro Level: 2 Attribute: FIRE ATK/DEF: 800/0 Effect: When this card is Normal Summoned: Special Summon 1 WATER "Novasteam" monster from your hand. Novasteam Ice Type: Aqua Level: 4 Attribute: WATER ATK/DEF: 0/1800 Effect: While you control atleast 1 FIRE "Novasteam" monster: "Novasteam" monsters you control cannot be destroyed by the effects of Spell and Trap Cards. Novasteam Burn Type: Pyro Level: 4 Attribute: FIRE ATK/DEF: 1800/0 Effect: While you control atleast 1 WATER "Novasteam" monster: Once per turn; you can inflict 400 damage to your opponent for each card you control. Novasteam River Type: Aqua/Tuner Level: 3 Attribute: WATER ATK/DEF: 0/1500 Effect: While you control atleast 1 FIRE "Novasteam" monster: Each time your opponent Special Summons a monster; switch that monster to Defense Position. Novasteam Wildfire Type: Pyro/Tuner Level: 3 Attribute: FIRE ATK/DEF: 1500/0 Effect: While you control atleast 1 WATER "Novasteam" monster: Each time your opponent Special Summons a monster; inflict 800 damage to your opponent. Novasteam Emptiness Type: Spellcaster Level: 3 Attribute: LIGHT ATK/DEF: 1500/1500 Effect: Once per turn: You can discard 1 "Novasteam" monster to draw 1 card. If you do: This card's Type and Attribute become the same as the discarded monster's. Novasteam WATER Type: Aqua Level: 1 Attribute: WATER ATK/DEF: 0/100 Effect: When this card is destroyed by battle: Add 1 FIRE "Novasteam" monster from your Deck to your hand. Novasteam FIRE Type: Pyro Level: 1 Attribute: FIRE ATK/DEF: 100/0 Effect: When this card is destroyed by battle: Add 1 WATER "Novasteam" monster from your Deck to your hand. Novasteam Blizzard Type: Aqua Level: 6 Attribute: WATER ATK/DEF: 0/2000 Effect: When this card is Normal or Flip Summoned: Switch it to Defense Position. Your opponent cannot draw cards outside of their Draw Phase. Novasteam Heatwave Type: Pyro Level: 6 Attribute: FIRE ATK/DEF: 2000/0 Effect: Once per turn if you control a WATER "Novasteam" monster: You can destroy 1 card on the field. Novasteam Hurricane Type: Aqua/Synchro Level: 7 Attribute: WATER ATK/DEF: 0/2500 Effect: 1 WATER "Novasteam" Tuner + 1 or more non-Tuner FIRE "Novasteam" monsters When this card is Synchro Summoned: Destroy all Spell and Trap Cards on the field. When this card is destroyed and sent to the Graveyard (either by battle or by card effect): Special Summon 1 non-Synchro "Novasteam" monster from your Graveyard. When this card is destroyed and sent to the Graveyard (either by battle or by card effect): Special Summon 1 non-Synchro "Novasteam" monster from your Graveyard Novasteam Galaxy Type: Spellcaster/Synchro Level: 12 Attribute: LIGHT ATK/DEF: 3000/3000 Effect: 1 FIRE "Novasteam" Tuner + 1 WATER Synchro Monster + 1 or more non-Tuner WATER "Novasteam" monsters OR 1 WATER "Novasteam" Tuner + 1 FIRE Synchro Monster + 1 or more non-Tuner FIRE "Novasteam" monsters Can only be Special Summoned by Synchro Summon. This card's Type and Attribute is treated as the Type and Attribute of the Tuner monster used to Synchro Summon this card. Once per turn: You can banish 1 WATER monster from your Graveyard to negate the activation of a Spell, Trap, or Effect Monster's Effect and destroy that card or you can banish 1 FIRE monster from your Graveyard to negate the Summon of a monster and destroy that card. Stream Crossing Spell Card Effect: Discard 1 FIRE "Novasteam" monster and 1 WATER "Novasteam" monster to draw 2 cards. Elemental Harmony Trap Card Effect: If you control a face-up WATER "Novasteam" monster: Special Summon 1 FIRE "Novasteam" monster from your hand. If you control a face-up FIRE "Novasteam" monster: Special Summon 1 WATER "Novasteam" monster from your hand. Only 1 monster can be Special Summoned with this card's effect. Link to comment
bilaterus Posted September 6, 2011 Report Share Posted September 6, 2011 One thing I noticed was how big Novasteam Burn's burn effect can get. 400 per card can easily get to 2000 since it takes spells and traps into account, and the going rate at the moment for an OPT burn effect is 1000 (Stealth Bird, lol). Harmony looks lackluster, since it summons from the hand, and its a trap. Maybe it could summon from the deck the corresponding novasteam from the deck? As in, the one that is the same level as the faceup one. I don't know how new the idea of getting water and fire to fit together would work, but your name and concept of burn and protection seems to fit the bill. Nice one. Link to comment
Agro Posted September 6, 2011 Report Share Posted September 6, 2011 Interesting idea, but you know, you need a Rank 2 Xyz. (Rain into Ember; Ember into Rain) Needs more support cards. I'm not quite sure what kind of lockdown you're trying to make, but I don't see it. Try to make more WATER ones to see if you can get the temp just right. /punny Link to comment
