Tokyo Duel

"You're sharp," John noted, "no, I'm not from around here, but usually people have to do a lot more than see me from across a room to pick up on that. Other things, depending on the person, but not that." He paused. "The duel isn't that significant to me though," he explained, "I just need to have a word with one of the duelists when they're finished."

"John Smith," he added, by way of introduction. He took another sip from his drink. "So, what's your name, kid, and what makes you so good at picking up on who isn't local."

Fenik responded, "Oh I have ways of seeing things... In the naked eyes that is." He cracked his neck from being stiffed from sitting the stool by the bar stand. He introduced, "I'm Fenikkusu Shinsei by the way, but I go with Fenik." he look at him with calm smile. He continued, "so I see the Photon queen piqued your interest but so does she piqued mine, according to her behaviors." He then gulp the rest of the tequila and release a sigh of relief. "Ah!... That hit the spot... Anyway that flaky boy is what I'm concerned, his flame is unstabled..."

"Nice to meet you Fenik," John replied, giving a light smile. He leaned on the table, moving slightly closer to the youth. "However, it's not our neighbourhood Photon Queen who I'm interested in, well at least not for the moment." He paused, to emphasise his point. "Although, her and the boy getting into a duel does back up my suspicions." He sipped at his glass, and lightened up slightly. "Well, I'm sure I can deal with the boy later. Right now, I find you more interesting; after all, it's not every day I get to meet a man with magic eyes. So, have you always seen things other people don't, or did it come on at some point?"

Seeing as their was no response from her opponent, Suzumi continued her turn. She held her hand off, giving the three knights some kind of hand motion as a command. "I now overlay my three Level Four Daybreakers." the woman began, and with that, her monsters all transformed into three yellow comets of light. They all shot up into the air, towards the ceiling. What seemed like a galactic portal appeared on her field. The comets quickly shot down and flew into the center.

"With these three monsters, I construct the overlane network. Exceed Summon!" the Photon Queen announced, which made the portal seemingly explode into a pillar of pure energy. A large object appeared in midair, above the battlefield. It was black and white, with a green orb in the center of it. Said object began morphing, beginning with a skeleton-like head arising from it. From the bottom, a metallic animal figure came out. A steel horse, and on it's back, a knight with a rapier in hand and a very evil expression from it's helm.

"Number 10: White Knight Illuminator." Suzumi spoke the Exceed Monster's name just as the summoning ritual was completed. The knight and it's mighty steed stood, prepared to strike with three luminous orbs of yellow energy circled around it. The card had a mighty attack power of twenty four hundred, superior to the opposing monster.

(OoC: Again, I'll wait for a chain. xD)

Fenik chuckled softly, "Magic eyes you say? I supposed you can see it that way, although it was left to be unexplained why i have it...." He continued, "Hmm, I wonder what flaky boy done to raise your suspicion? heh." He look at the queen as she suddenly summoned a Number card, but a number that was specifically used by someone in the far past. He muttered as he chewing the nail on his thumb, "Damn... of all Exceeds, why does it have to his? that's got to be a replica since that time, assuming, passed away... I guess people have way to make replications of the extinct cards..."

It had been a long fight.
Itsu had just barely managed to get some weapons and equipment out of subspace before the first of the nuclear zomborgs attacked her. She fought her way through level after level of the complex, slowly cutting down the horde as she did so, until she reached the control room, where the computer resided. Sadly, she did not count on the computer to have continued the research to make a massive monstrosity of a zomborg out of several mutated dead bodies. They burst out of the bunker and into the blizzard raging outside. They fought, and fought, and fought, until Itsu emerged victorious...
...at which point the computer detonated the cache of nuclear warheads underneath the bunker.
The blast disintegrated most of the layers of protective nanites forming most of Itsu's body, and the electromagnetic pulse fried the rest to Itsu's , leaving Itsu Solace, one of the greatest heroes who never lived, as nothing more than a silvery egg approximately the size of a human torso. This egg was recovered from off of the coast of the island by Japanese fisherman operating far from their normal grounds, and put on display in the New Domino Museum of Natural History. No one knew what to make of the artifact, as any scans and attempts to open the device revealed nothing, and they simply left it there.
Meanwhile, a golden amulet with an emerald gem in the center washed up on shore, and started quivering. Faint images filled the heads of those nearby of what they were supposed to do, but almost no one was able to make out the instructions...
Almost...

"'Flaky boy', as you put it, told me he knew nothing of something I asked him earlier. However, it wasn't a matter that one could simply dismiss," John explained, "if one knew enough that the question wasn't strange, then one has to know something, or be looking."

The girl summoned an Xyz monster, which seemed to cause an odd reaction in John's new companion. "You're worried about Number 10?" he questioned, "it's not exactly the most threatening of monsters. It's costly to bring out, and it's effect is sub-par. Even for the same cost, Number 16 is a more dangerous monster. Unless there's something else about that monster you're worried about?"

Fenik sighed while looking down, "So you knew about them then, just as i expected you're not around here... Probably not even in this timeline..." He continued, "It's not the powers or such, it's just the fact it's existed in this time where the era it had existed became extinct but those cards are the persona of the duelist's heart, rather, darkness, which they're one of the kinds or so that i've witnessed it. Knowing her "flame" didn't waver to the summoning... Means it's a fake." He ended as he shrugged softly.

He look at John, jumping on to his topic, "What you said about that flaky boy, if he didn't deem to be puzzled by your question of some sort, it's mean he may know of it but denied it or he doesn't know enough about it to answer as he trying to find answers to himself." He explained of the fewest possibilities, one can only wonder about it.

"That was what I'd concluded," John replied, "but even if he's only looking for what I am, then even a lead is still useful to me. However, I suspect he knows something more, and whatever it is it's important enough that he's covering it up." He drained his glass. "As for your number monster, the chances are that she got it at some point whilst the past still existed. There might not be a past any more, but because there wasn't there shouldn't be one here now. The fact that we're speaking is down to echos of a past that did exist - a past where she, some way or another, got hold of that card. It's like the universe invented an elaborate backstory for it's own existence. The question is how long it will hold together."

While Isamu was waiting, he realized that that man who had asked him about Eon Monsters was here. In the same room. As him. Isamu grew irritated, glancing a shot at him at an angle. "Damn him...why can't he just leave me the hell alone?!" he thought. "If they knew all that happened then...if they knew the pain we all felt...if they could only understand...! But I can't tell anyone...because they don't understand. And they never will..." Isamu concentrated onto the duel again. "I must die with that secret....it was a promise after all..."

Fenik Smiled a little, "So you thought the same, but yes it is to depend the stability of holding it together." He clear his throat to continued his discussion. " The queen, one would have a link to the past such as such as that monster, then again , answers can only be achieved through leeching informations from her but the chances are slim." As he look ahead toward the duel, he saw flaky boy shared a glance this way, possibly to his companion, suddenly that boy's flames wavered as he look back at the duel. Fenik smiled as he grinned, "Remember you saying about the possibility of that boy covering up something important of a details? Apparently you're not far off the mark." He smirked gently as he look at John.

Isamu looked at Suzumi, frowning. "Hey, listen. I know you're bored and all..." he began to say, looking at John at an angle, yet again. "...I'd rather not be here anymore. We'll pick this up some time later, believe me." With that, Isamu lowered his duel disk. "Don't think of this as a victory. Because it isn't," he said. After leaving the casino, Isamu began his wandering yet again. He wandered for what seemed like hours in this heat when he saw what looked like...an eggl? He was practically in the beach region of the city at this point. An egg in the beach? Where was the creature that was watching it? He walked over to it, examining it. Gold. It was gold. With emerald in it. "What the...?" Isamu said softly.

The Emerald Eclipse Amulet immediately sensed Isamu, and fired at him, latching on to him before glowing and disappearing in a flash of light.
Isamu felt his body twist and turn, be pulled inside-out, then rightside-in again. He was simultaneously stretched, squeezed, and crushed, made to sense everything at once and nothing at all at the same time. The sensation was impossible to describe, but it felt like it went on forever, though it might've only been in the blink of an eye. Regardless, the light faded, and a beautiful woman with red hair arranged into hair-fins, a black sleeveless trenchcoat, and a black and red leather catsuit was now standing in front of him, in the middle of a busy street in some sort of strange purple-blue city.
"Hello. My name is Itsu Solace, and if my calculations are correct, you have been catapulted here from 300 years in my future. Well, relative future, actually." Curiously, she had the same amulet Isamu was currently wearing. "Now, I am sure you have a lot of questions. ust be calm and ask them. I will try to answer them so you can understand why you were summoned here."

Suzumi's uncaring expression barely changed. She lowered her own disk as her challenger left. Don't treat it like a victory? What was the point of even thinking it was to begin with? The woman did hate duelists who decided that their match was a victory just because the foe surrendered and walked away. She's rather crush someone completely for a win. Regardless, even if Isamu quit, she at least got the distraction she was hoping for. The Queen seemed somewhat disappointed still, because she was waiting for a certain card to be drawn. The woman sighed, and growled a bit under her breath.

John was about to reply, but suddenly his target opted to abandon his duel and made a break for it. John stood, picking up his coat. "Well, looks like have to leave. Nice talking to you, Fenik." He pulled a business card out of his pocket and dropped it on the table. "Keep in touch," he added. With that, he rushed for the door, pulling his coat on as he went. However, the onlookers to the duel obstructed him, slowing him down and giving the boy a head start - and enough time to be out of sight when he finally got out of the door, forcing John to rely on eyewitnesses to tell him where the boy ran off to.

It took some time - probably - for him to finally track down the boy, who had almost managed to reach the beach. When he came into view he looking at something on the ground. John's teleporter would probably be screaming, if it wasn't silenced, but he paid no attention to it - not when the amulet gave a flash of light which blotted out the boy for a moment...

Fenik nodded after John left to follow that boy. He picked up the business card on the table he left behind. "Yeah, with this we can keep in touch, he's certainly a nice gentleman i've met in a long time.... Perhaps too long..." He mutter at end of words. Anyway, that boy, he left the duel in the midst as he wasted that queen's time surely is un-sportmanship-like. "Well then i guess i'll make use of this opportunity if i have to, heh" he stretched. He got up from his seat, casually walking to Suzumi, hoping at the some point will get his answers to be clears but in chances, there may be none or so.

When this "amulet" attatched to Isamu, Isamu panicked. After all, it was no different then being attacked by an animal. Only this couldn't kill him. So he thought. Then, his entire body began to twitch and turn; being pulled inside out and the ride-side in again. For most people, that's a feeling no one wants to experiance. Isamu was no different. Though was in a lot of pain, the average man would've been crying and screaming. Isamu wasn't average. He'd grown accustomed to pain, but this....this was something entirely different. Isamu was only shouting in pain; not screaming. And in all that time, he was somewhere else. Just like that. Then he saw her. She had red-hair, with hair fins. She wore a black trench coat, with a black and red suit of some sort. She approached him, saying her name and their time of place. "The future...?" Isamu asked, ignoring the name. "How is there a future? We're I'm from, there's only a present..." At this point in time, this was the first thing that came to mind.

Itsu sighed, and motioned for him to follow her off to the side, out of the crowd of bustling people. They eventually reached a set of tables at what might have been a futuristic cafe, and she sat down, activating a holographic menu made from symbols Isamu couldn't read. She selected something, and a cup of what looked like tea. "I will explain. I travel from universe to universe, saving those universes from those that wish to do them harm, or interfere with the natural course of events. I use this amulet to do so. Because of my ability to freely insert myself into timelines, my path through time and space is quite convoluted. However, it appears that, 300 years down my own personal timeline, I have become incapacitated in some way, and the amulet has bonded to you until it can reattach itself to me, its true owner. It is impossible to contact my future self, because the amulet prevents those kinds of paradoxes. Even this meeting, with this amulet here, and the one you are wearing that is 300 years in my future, is straining their power. I need you to follow the instructions of the amulet until you can get me out of whatever mess I am in. Any questions?"

When John could see where the boy had been again, he wasn't there. "OK, now this isn't good." He walked up to where the boy was to get a closer look, but there seemed to be no trace of him whatsoever. He raised his arm, flipped some switches on his teleporter, and swept it over the area. A light flashed on the device, and he looked at it. "Hang on, I just picked that same signal up not long ago..." he tapped the device. "It looks like signals are getting caught up in this disruption. Still, he shouldn't be able to get too far," he added, making a wider scan for the same signal.

"Hmm, there's a similar response in the natural history museum. It's better than nothing. Taxi!" he called, flagging down a passing vehicle. "Natural History Museum," he told the driver as he closed the door. This day gets odder and odder, he mused.

Isamu's jaw dropped. Universe to universe? Saving other worlds from bad things? Three hundred years into anothe world's future? "I need to sit down..." he said, sitting down. This was a lot to take in. A lot. He had never once suspected something like this. That means there were other life forms. Meaning people were wrong. Meaning that his very existance, in itself, could be wrong. Up until right now, this very moment, he had always believed that there were no such things as "other worldly people". Well, he was wrong. Dead wrong. "So let me get thsi straight," he said. "You hop from universe to universe, galaxy to galaxy, and you're a savior? And this...'necklace' thing of yours. This came from you from a past event? And to restore you to your present self, I gotta find that present version of you? Which will be done...how?"

Itsu shakes her head. "No, from an event in my future, which is your past. Look, the amulet will know what to do. Follow its instructions, and hurry. The amulet...it is rather taxing, unless you have been contracted to it, like I have." She then asked Isamu. "Now, would you like something to eat before you go? Trust me. Even though jumping is rather disorienting, you won't throw up."

Meanwhile, at the New Domino Museum of Natural History, Itsu's core, simply called "The Egg", remained in stasis, awaiting to be awoken...

Isamu, though in a state of mass confusion and disbelief, suddenly got down to business when she slightly said "taxing". Meaning it would take it's toll on him. Meaning something bad might happen to him. And he was determined to fix that mistake that happened...in the past. Then Itsu mentioned food. Being warped into another dimension did make someone hungry. But Isamu was a picky eater. Very picky. "What kind of food is it...?" he asked, raising an eyebrow. "Earth-like food? Or the kind of food envisioned on Earth from other worlds?"

Itsu replied. "Well, we are currently on Nowhere, a sort of interdimensional pit stop for people like me. Think of it as like one of those American rest stops in the middle of the desert that has a store with various knick-knacks, a gas station, a restaurant, and at least one other attraction, but the size of a planet." She activated his menu, showing various Earth foods, ranging anywhere from the standard hamburger to an entire five-course meal fit for a king. "Don't worry. You're not going to be dining on Rokeg blood pie or Trikaloo surprise...unless you want to try something like that?"

Isamu raised his eyebrow again. He'd never really seen those gas stations. But he had been in the desert, many times before. Perhaps he didn't go far enough. Wouldn't be suprising. His dislike of warm places wasn't cut out for the desert. Kinda sucked that the incident took place in summer at the hottest tempature of the year yet. Isamu looked. As a child, Isamu loved hamburgers. As he aged and matured, he began to obtain different interests in his food choice. He began eating proper, dignified. Like a king, almost. Like a king. Isamu smiled. The kind of smile that you see when some one remembered something from a long time ago, something that had been forgotten in them for ages, and then they joy it brought to that person burst free, like an display of fireworks. All that was evident in his short-lived smile. He had remembered who he was. Who he really was. He was a man of honor. Although he had realized this in the most unlikely of places, and of course, questions, Isamu politely asked for a modest meal. Something that would fil him up, and nothing more. And there was only one thing that would do that:

"I'll take a hamburger with fries, please."

As soon as he announced that, a plate with a delicious hamburger and a lovely set of French fries appeared, exactly like Isamu wanted. A beeping then issued from the middle of the table, and Itsu summoned a gold bar from thin air, and placed it in the center of the table. The gold bar then disappeared as quickly as it had appeared, and the beeping ceased. "I apologize for that, my friend. The table is rather smart, so once we had ordered, and our food had materialized, it requested payment. I think the amount of gold bullion I gave it should be enough. Gold is a universal currency, since the amount of gold in a universe is more or less constant, as opposed to the amount of any type of currency backed by mineral wealth. Anyways, do you have any questions, or would you wish for me to shut up so you can eat?"
