Tokyo Duel

Isamu sat down in a somewhat shady area, thinking about all he had done today. Which, to be exact, was nothing. Nothing. It had always been nothing, and something told him it would stay that way. He looked around, almost as if he were expecting some one. "Can't stand this..." he thought. "It's like that damn underground league...no reason to live...no reason to exist... Just lingering aimlessly." He sighed. "I gotta find something to do..." he mumbled, getting up.

John Smith looked up at the blazing sun. Sooner or later, this had to end, otherwise this half of the planet would burn up. Humanity would survive, living in eternal night, but it would be better if the world was put back the way it was. He tapped at the teleporter on his wrist. It was still powered up, but it was flashing a 'low-power' light - it usually charged itself up from the flow of time around it, but with no future to move into, it was now running on batteries. He had one, maybe two more jumps if he was lucky, but he didn't really need it anyway, fortunately.

He reached into a pocket and pulled out a pair of cards. Both were rare Eon Monsters, but John had never used either of them. Both required extremely rare cards to be on the field for longer than the average duel would last, which might explain why he'd been able to get hold of them. Still, he needed some more advanced technology - or at least some with a full battery - to examine them further, but where to find it?

Isamu yawned. What was there to do anyways? It's not like the world would change. He was stuck in this hell hole of a life. Him of all people. Why did he have to live in this life time, anyways? Why did he have to be born into this life? Why not any other? He didn't know what to do. No friends, no money, no hope. What a life, right? He continued on walking down the path when he saw someone who looked, well...lost. "What're you looking for...?" Isamu asked the stranger.

John turned at the sound of a voice, to see a youth asking what he was looking for. "Kid, you won't be able to help," he explained. "What I need doesn't exist, at least not yet, and right now it probably never will." He paused to reflect on this. It was probably possible to assemble a rudimentary scanner from current materials and his teleporter, but with the latter short of power he'd not get enough time from the device, and he'd rather have a teleport, just in case. "I'll settle for anything you know about Eon Monsters though," he added, as an afterthought. Odds are this kid won't know anything I don't already, but since he came up to me it can't hurt to ask.

"Damn it's hot..." a man in a fancy black tuxedo complained. He stood inside of a large casino, and even with the AC on full blast, he was one of the few people inside that felt like he was just going to melt. He took a drink of ice cold water in a cup next to him. Knowing the current situation of the world, he and some friends tried to get their minds off of it by having fun in the casino, trying to treat it as a dream. Unfortunately, for one of said friends...

"Damn it! That's impossible!" another man shouted, slamming his fist onto a game table. He was one of the last two players sitting at said table with a blue haired woman. She remained calm, not responding to the opponent's outburst. "There is no way in hell you ALWAYS got the winning hand! You cheated!"

"I didn't cheat. Everyone around us had their attention focused on me. If I cheated, someone would've noticed."

"Bullshit!"

"Hey! Hey!" the man from earlier ran up to his infuriated colleague. "I apologize, I'll be taking him away now..." he spoke with a embarrassed tone, dragging his friend away. The woman scoffed at her foe's reaction to losing a little game. He heard this, and it further angered him. "Would you calm down?"

"Why should I? The whole damn world is screwed up, and we try to relax knowing this. Yet, because of her, I can't win a single game! She took all of my money! Damn it, I've had enough!"

...Another one? People complaining about that have been coming in all day. It's getting tiresome to hear them whine about it. Suzumi recalled several other gamblers that entered the building, all concerned with trying to spend away all of their worry. If one had all the money in the world, they could do anything they dreamed of before the world would come to it's eventual end. That's what she assumed most of them were thinking. The woman herself didn't seem to care all to much at the moment. She got up from her chair and started walking away from the table. She reached into her bra, using it as a purse of some sort, and pulled out a small deck container. Suzumi opened it and half way pulled out a card. ...You and your kind are at fault... interesting.

Isamu figured he didn't know what the man wanted, but...not having something at this point in time...? What was with this guy? Then he asked about Eon Monsters. Isamu turned away at these words, a slight hint of anger in his voice. "Can't say I do. Sorry," he said. "If only these guys knew what the Eon Monsters were originally meant for..." he thought. "I swore an oath though...and I can't afford to go back on my word..."

Isamu proceeded to walk away. He eventually wandered into a casino, where he saw her. The Photon Queen. If the rumors about her were true, she was considered to be one of, if not the best duelist in this day in age. Though he wasn't sure if she was dueling anymore, Isamu walked up to her. "Excuse me...you are the...Photon Queen...right?" he asked her.

Suzumi was too busy wondering what exactly was in her hand to hear the person that approached her. After a few seconds, his words did reach her ears. The woman quickly pushed the pulled card back down into the deck, and closed the container. "It's an irritating title, but yes, I am the Photon Queen..." Suzumi's tone showed that wasn't interested in him at all, and was really hoping he wasn't one of those guys who just came up to randomly challenge her. Or one of the occasional idiots that try to ask her out on a date. "What do you want?"

It was obvious that the Photon Queen was either stuck up or unamused by Isamu's approach. Possibly both, but Isamu wasn't trying to impress anyone. After all, he looked like crap anyways. "Nothing really. Just a duel. Between two tournament champions. See, you're crowned the best because you never were pressured. Nothing to lose. As for myself...I was the Underground League Champion. If you lost, well...I never lost. But I did see what happened to the losers. You did not want to end up a loser. You claim you're bored of the game because no one can give you a challenge, right? Try my hand. We'll just see whose better."

It was just as she feared. Another challenger, much to her annoyance. What he said was half true. She was bored long ago by the lack of interesting opponents, yes. But these days, it was more of her just not caring to even bother. Normally, she would flat out deny the challenge altogether. However, after her little poker game with a sore loser, she was feeling somewhat irritated after being accused of cheating. "Underground League...? Good, that means you're already two steps above the unskilled duelists I see everyday. I'll take your offer and 'try your hand'. I need a distraction anyway..." Suzumi gave him her form of a compliment, and then took his challenge. The Queen shoot a commanding glare at one of the employees. That one nearly choked on his drink when he saw it. He quickly ran into a room and came out with a navy blue duel disk for her majesty.

Furugelm Island, Sea of Japan
110 km SW of Vladivostok

The Cold War between the Americans and the Soviet Russians had been an intense one, each side wanting something to defeat the other. Most of the crazy stories of what each side manufactured as a potential weapon were merely propaganda against the other, but even the tiniest bit of those tales had a bit of truth in them.
For instance, on the small, secluded island of Furugelm, Communist scientists had created a perfect breed of super-soldier, resistant to even the mighty atom bomb. Using a combination of "advanced" nuclear research, "advanced" cybernetics, and "advanced" medical know-how, the Russians manufactured a way to produce atomic zombie cyborgs. These super-soldiers were programmed to kill the enemy, then bring the enemy dead back to the nearest conversion facility to be converted into a guardian of Communism against the vile agents of capitalism.
Fortunately, this project never got off the ground (at least in this universe), so the secret underground base, including the prototype conversion center, were abandoned...until 2014, when a North Korean team of "elite" soldiers entered the bunker to secure the Soviet research...until they accidentally activated the machinery, reviving the frozen, nuclear-enhanced cyber-commies. The soldiers, and the primitive computer commanding them, assumed the Koreans were foes, and dispatched of them. Luckily, the Koreans closed the bulkhead doors to prevent the monsters from leaving, though they also joined the atomic zombie cyborgs' ranks.
Now, in the middle of the cryogenic storage chambers, a green light flashes as a woman with red and black clothing, matching hair of similar colors, and heterochromatic eyes, one blue, the other gold, appears in the middle of it all. She has the chance to utter. "Oh, f-" Before the alarms start sounding, and the ages-old vacuum-tube-using command computer starts booting itself up so it can dispose of this enemy to the USSR, a long-dead nation.

"Good, good..." Isamu said. "Though I may not be able to win, I can assure you I won't be a waste of your time. I only hope you won't waste my time..." Isamu said, smirking. He grabbed his duel disk. It was pure black, with spikes all around it. Where he put his arm into lied a trigger, which he carefully, and easily avoided. "Terribly sorry for basically forcing this upon you. To be honest, I've been wanting to see whose got more to give. I want to see if you're as good as they say you are. Now then, ladies first."

"If you say you won't be a waste of time, then don't apologize." Suzumi replied, she wanted a distraction, as she stated earlier. The Queen took the Duel Disk from the employee and equipped it onto her right arm. The machine activated and connected with her foe's Disk. Their life was set, and she went ahead and drew six cards for her starting hand, since Isamu let her go first. She got a fairly decent hand, in her own opinion.

"I Normal Summon Shining Angel." she began, quickly calling out her first monster. A man with short blond hair and four very large angelic wings appeared before her. It's stats were revealed to the challenger: an attack power of fourteen hundred and defense power of eight hundred. "I will set a card and end my turn."

Isamu nodded. "Agreed. I'm not the kind of person to get ahead of myself, however," he said. "Now then, I draw. I'll start off by summoning Tydel, Blue Moon Gazer in attack mode. "My monster has more attack then hers...but if memory serves, Shining Angel can bring out another monster if it's destroyed. And that face-down...it could be nuisance..."
"I'll play my Blue Moon Typhoon Spell," Isamu said. "This card allows me to destroy one face-down spell or trap card on the field if I control a WATER Warrior-Type Monster on my field. Then I take three hundred damage for each WATER Warrior-Type Monster on my field."

Fenik sitting at the bar in the casino where the duel between two said champions, drinking a tequila. Feeling warm and relieved inside as the sooth his uneasy feeling that linger for quite awhile. Staying stuck at the age of 19 may not be so bad, but of course when he "dies" he had to wait another 18 years to drink again. "Waiter, get me another shot." He called. He turn around, looking at the Photon Queen and the young fellow who looks quite flaky claimed to be an underground champion. "Perhaps, this shall be fun to watch, with a shot of tequila, heh." He smiled gently. Seeing countless duels in over two centuries, at least it never actually get boring.

Suzumi showed absolutely no reaction at all. Her set card was nothing but a face-down Mystical Space Typhoon. It would've served it's purpose as a Quick-Play Spell if it hadn't be destroyed early, so it could take out one of the opponent's set cards. Regardless, it was too late now. She didn't care anyway. "The damage is inflicted, and then you can continue." the queen spoke up, reminding him of the drawback of his own card.

"Better safe than sorry," Isamu said, unphased by his loss of life points.
Isamu: 3700
"Now, Tydel attacks your Angel," he said. "Go, Blue Moon Beam," Isamu already knew what to expect. However, he didn't know what she'd bring out; she had an entire deck still of Monsters. And if she didn't have a lot of LIGHT monsters with 1500 or less ATK, then there'd be no point in even having it... Isamu suddenly felt like he was being watched. He looked around, seeing someone watching his duel with. It was better compared to being surrounded by screaming, hellbent fans that were prevented from getting in thanks to a barbed wire fence. Isamu was glad those days were over..,

While Fenik sitting on his stool, which is probably itching his bottom but he still remain engrossed by the duel. He was remind of his old days he was a champion quite of few times but sadly each time wasn't long before he went "missing" then when he able to duel again for such a tournament, he has to undergo a slight change of his appearance. He still use his actual name as his alias though he was given many other names too, this is the price of immortality he was given, he had to lose an extent of previous life to gain another but the least he can still keep are memories of the past. Fenik snapped from his flashback, he got up from his sit to move to a table closer to the duel of the champions. Even he was a champion few times, sadly without a chance to give his title to someone before his death, no one will remember the name of a dead champion in this time. Perhaps it's better that way or perhaps not, only time will tell.

Shining Angel was immediately destroyed by the Blue Moon Beam attack. Light particles wandered around her field of Monster Zones after the heavenly creature had fallen.
Suzumi: 3600 LP
"This card, when destroyed by battle, will Special Summon a LIGHT Monster from my deck with an attack power of fifteen hundred or less." the woman explained the dead monster's effect. The holy sparkles before her began to shine brightly, and then eventually started to form another angel. This one had long, majestic blond hair and two large white wings. He had his fists crossed, covering a shining energy emitting from his chest. "The monster I select is Honest." she announced, as the angel was revealed to only have an attack power of eleven hundred.

(OoC: Making this close to or longer four lines will be a pain in the a$$ lol)
Isamu sighed. "You act as though I didn't know what your monster did..." he said. "Sadly, I can't do anything to stop Honset at the moment...which means it'll just be a pain in my side later." He knew what Honest did. It'd been used against him before, but he was ready for it then. Now, he didn't have a way to counter it's summon. Meaning he'd have to be wise. "Two face-downs end my turn."

Life Points: 3700
Hand: 2
Monsters: 1
Spell / Traps: 2

Suzumi didn't care if he knew the card effects or not, she just explained for the sake of explaining. The woman silently began her turn by drawing her card. "During the Main Phase, Honest can return to my hand." the queen informed her foe. The angel's wings flapped open, and then enclosed themselves as if the creature was retreating to it's shell. It's entire body became engulfed in light, transforming into a card form, and went to her hand.

"I then activate Photon Lead. I can Special Summon one Level Four monster from my hand." the duelist finally began her offensive strategy, using one of the very cards that branded her title. After the spell was used, she held up three of the same monster cards. "The monster I summon is Daybreaker. When this monster is Special Summoned, I can Special Summon one of the other copies. The second one will do the same for the final one." Suzumi explained as the three cards shot out of her hands while becoming engulfed in blue energy. They transformed into three fully armored white knights with red capes and blades in hand. They each had an attack power of seventeen hundred. Not a single one of them was strong enough to defeat the aquatic warrior on their own. Even so, Suzumi watched her opponent, waiting for a possible chain if he had one.

(OoC: Tell me if you do in the OOC thread. I don't want you to try getting four lines about how he had no response. Lol. If you don't, I'll edit this post with the rest of her turn.)

John pondered what was said for a moment. If someone didn't know there was anything special about the Eon Monsters, it would sound like a stupid question, and even if someone only knew the name, they'd probably try and explain why. To casually dismiss the question, to just 'not know' as if that's normal...he knows something, even if it's just that there's something to know.

He was about to set off when the device on his wrist gave a beep. "Nowhere nearby," he noted, glancing at the device. He pushed a few buttons. "I don't need more arrivals notices. Now, in lieu of anything better, where'd that kid go?" He set off in the direction the boy had left in, walking swiftly but without breaking stride.

It didn't take long for him to come across a casino, which was holding people outside. Since there was no real peak time anymore, it was odd in itself. John pushed his was up to the front of the queue, waved what might have been a police badge, and walked in to find a duel in progress. One of the duelists was the kid he'd spoke to not too long ago, and the other was a young woman he recognised.

"Suzumi Regina?" he muttered, making his way over to the bar and ordering a drink. Whilst it was being prepared, he turned to watch the duel in progress. His conversation with the boy could wait until his duel was over.

Fenik as supposedly watching the duel, from the photon Queen, Suzumi Regina, Her actions reek of disinterests but at the same time a slight hostility. He knew though she is not holding back but she doesn't seem to be immersed in the duel. "Hmm, perhaps that fellow will have to push her to a corner in order to giver her thrill." He stated to himself. He took a sip from his drink, he look at behind him, a tall man with handsome feature as well in dark green coat and black trouser. Fenik strike him out as not one of the usual people around here. Perhaps he's foreigner of some kind. Fenik turn around in his chair, called out, "Hey! Tall fella in green..." As well he pointed a seat beside him.

John was eyeing the tables, when he heard a shout, and saw a red-haired youth motioning to the seat beside him. He gave a brief nod, to show he'd been seen, and then turned back to the bar to pick up his drink, an amber spirit, handing over some coins before making his way over to the table where the boy was sat. He took a single sip from the glass, before setting it down to remove his coat, which he folded and draped on the back of the chair. He then sat down, looking the boy over.

"So, kid," he finally spoke, "is there something specific I can hep you with, or are you just looking for company?"

Fenik chuckled, as he look at the duel while being laid back. He asked, "This duel is interesting you right?" He then took a sip from his tequila, once again feeling the warmth from it. He continued, "So you're not from around here I presume, you reek of something that isn't of this town" He look at him with leery smile but also with a sense of gentleness. It isn't really a smell that he suspect of but it was a faint coating of aura that differ from all people in this era.

Tsuchi was walking down the dark road which now represented his life. "Nothingness," he thought, "this is my life. I have not a single thing to protect - to live for..." he paused in thought. "Nothing, except to find out why. That is my only reason to exist now. Once I learn the truth, my life ends. My horrible life will be at an end. I will finally be at peace." Tsuchi tripped over a pile of litter on the street. He was no longer walking down the dark road. He was walking down a road, almost opposite. What he didn't know is that it is where he used to live. It had changed so much, and, he had lost most of his memory anyway.

"Where am I?" He muttered. He had been walking down that dark street for ages by now. "Ah, a lot of noise inside the casino, this should keep me in reality, not that it is even worth staying in this kind of life." He walked over and saw a large queue. He sighed. "I wonder if I can even survive a queue. This is just too boring..."
