Duel Academy: The Spirit Chronicles |Year 1| (IC/Accepting)

Haku was worried about something he shouldn't be. So he sat down on the ground and pulled out his extra deck. [i]Good, [/i]he thought; the prototype cards his uncle gave him were still there. His uncle was maybe his only supporter, besides his sister, so promised him he would make it into Obelisk Blue and maybe even make friends which he never was good at. His black jeans were a perfect fit and his air-force sweater was feeling quite comfortable. He was getting hot so he took of his orange vest and put his family sword inside a tree he had carved out his freshman year. Now that he was a Junior he couldn't help but be ready for his first duel of the year so he picked up his duel disk that had been sitting next to him and put it on. He saw kids in uniforms and it disgusted him, ​such conformist. He never wore the uniform and hated most authority. He picked his vest up and slung it over his shoulder and began to walk around thinking, [i]time to find my first victim.[/i]

[Time Psyduck]

"Hi," Jenis replied brightly, "I'm Jenny." She gave a warm smile, but it drooped a bit as the girl didn't even look at her, instead attempting to slip away. Tyson invited her to join them, a sentiment she agreed with, and then set off in that direction. Jenis, however, was more proactive in getting Alyssa to open up. She walked over and looped her arm in the other girl's, pulling her in the direction of the cafeteria. "Stop hiding away," she insisted, "come and hang out with us. Besides, I haven't actually met any other girls here yet - it's starting to feel like I'm a bald guy in a werewolf convention." Ironically, whilst she was far from bald, Jenis had actually been to a werewolf convention once, back in the spirit world, although she said nothing of this as she made sure the other girl came with them.

alyssa wa shocked to hear her tell her name. next thing alyssa knew she was being draged to the cafiteria by this girl she just met and she really was just trying to be out of the way. Alyssa giggled at the joke that jenny had made. she wasn't sure but she felt slightly more confertable around her. "so what dorm are you in," she said in her quiet voice, " and why are you takeing me with you there's bound to be other girls there." Tyson stoped in frount of the door to the cafiteria and clapped his hand togather and said, "finally we're here. he opened the door to see a cafiteria filled with students.

[Time Psyduck]

"I'm in Ra Yellow," Jenis replied, "and I'm bringing you because I want to talk to you and get to know you. So what if there's other girls there; why do you think all these other girls would be so much more interesting to talk to than you are?" Her voice had shifted slightly, echoing concern for a girl who seemed to be very shy...

[i]The fires were going out, but the village was in ruins. Innocent victims of the raiding party laid where they had fallen, defending their homes and their families. A group in white, a mixed band of humans and animals, picked their way through the ruins until their apparent leader, a blue-haired, winged female, spotted a girl, still alive, but crying alone in the ruins of what was once her home. She made her way over to the child.[/i]

[i]"Are you hurt?" she asked, but the child. Jenis - for that was who the young girl was - shook her head slightly, but said nothing and carried on weeping.[/i]

[i]"What's your name?" the woman asked, but again the child merely cried. The woman gave up, and simply folded the girl into her arms. "You can't stay here alone," she whispered, "so you can come with us. Once you've been around us for a bit, you'll soon open up.[/i]"

...Jenis' mind returned to the present, and the girl she was dragging. "If you don't socialise, you won't get used to it," she added, as they reached the cafeteria, which seemed to be quite full. "So, where's Clark?" she asked, looking around. "I wonder if there's any seats with him?"

[Hunderas]

"Ahh, I just want to eat, Why can't you leave me alone?" Clark almost in tears now looked down at his plate of food. Every time he went to take a bite another student would come up and bother him. When he seen Jenny , Tyson, and the girl Jenny was dragging walk in Clark stood up. "Hey over here!" Clark yelled over the crowd. "I'll finally be able to eat." Clark said to himself." Clark started to get tears in his eyes overjoyed by the fact that the surrounding crowd would hopefully leave. Clark finally picked up his burger and as he was about to take a bite out of it a stundent walked up and said "Hey, kid that's my spot."
"Not again." Clark thought.

[Time Psyduck]

Jenis noticed Clark, who was being pestered by other students after the seats. "I'll go and sit down, give him some peace. You get what you want, and I'll go after," she explained, before heading off to the table, where a student was claiming Clark's seat was 'his spot'. Jenis tapped the boy on the shoulder, and as he turned, she started on him.

"No, that isn't 'your spot'," she explained, eyes fixed, "because this isn't some family dinner table. It's a cafeteria that can't seat everyone at once, but it shouldn't need to, because the idea is you find somewhere to sit, eat, and then when you're done you leave and someone else sits there." She glanced about the room. "There's a seat over there," she told him, "if you're quick no-one will beat you to it. Now go." The boy actually went, whilst Jenis glanced behind her, as though expecting someone else to have just been speaking. She sat down. "I'm glad he went," she admitted, "if he'd stuck around I think I'd have given in."

Tyson saw as jenny sent the guy away. Tyson headed to a line to get himself some lunch. Tyson stomach at this point was as he would put it eating itself. tyson hopped in line waiting to get himself something to eat. Alyssa went to the table jenny was sitting out at and sat across from her. " who... whos this?" alyssa asked in her quiet voice before she tried to hide behind a book she had brought on advance dueling stratiegy . Tyson arrived to the tablewith a lot of food. tyson comensed to eating. Alyssa really tried her best to advoid the cafiteria because of how packed it was now. Tyson looked at Jenny and wisspered, Do you think you can get her to open up."

[Hunderas]

"Thank you O' sweet angel." Clark said to Jenny as she sent the boy away. Clark finally started to eat when the girl came in and sat by them. "who...whos this?" she whispered.
"I'm sorry what was that." Clark said with a full mouth. "I'm sorry, its just I get sea sick and haven't eaten in forever." Clark swallowed his food and held out his hand. "I'm Clark by the way. Obelisk Blue, Freshman. If you couldn't tell." By this time Tyson came and sat down with the entire food stockpile from the cafeteria. "Tyson whats with this girl she barely speaks. I haven't even gotten a name out of her yet."

[Devack]

Tyson looked at him with a mouth full of food. Tyson swallowed his food and said, " oh, her name is alyssa," tyson then looked at her and back at clark and continued to say," she is extermly shy. anyway if it wasn't for her I would proubly be in slifer red or not even in." tyson continued to eat his food while he was eating alyssa said, "I wouldn't say that." tyson was already half way done with his tray. Tyson started to eat his sandwitch when alyssa tryed to get up and leave.

[Piercer of the Heavens]

"Very nice move" Plague told Raito. "But once again you go for only attack. And you forgot one thing, it doesn't matter how many defense position monsters you have, mine can get by them as if they weren't even there." Plague drew his card, which he then added to his hand. "Now my I activate Di-Ak: Speed Master's ability. Come on out my Di-ak: Lady Water. Now I activate Lady Water's ability and I choose my Speed Master. Which means I gain another 1600."

"Now my Speed Master attack him directly and finish this duel."

Haku didn't know where he was heading but at least he could smell the cafeteria. Stomach roaring like a wild beast, Haku decided heading in that direction would be the best idea right now. He walked for quite sometime and enjoyed the beautiful scenary. Lush underbrush, a forest so peaceful it was rather hard to believe students were running around causing havoc. He walked quickly wanting to eat as much as possible. He found the great hall walking down it looking for the cafeteria. He walked into the cafeteria and walked up to the lunch lady and noticed that there wasnt any food left. "Where is the food?" Haku asked impatiantly.

The lunch lady pointed to some kid sitting with two girls and another guy, "He cleaned us out. You'll have to wait for a little bit."

Angered, Haku stormed to the table not normally the type for confrotation, but nobody messes with his eating on time and he meant nobody. "HEY! Kid with to much on his plate!" Haku then waited for his response.

[Time Psyduck]

Jenis noticed that, once again, the other girl was attempting to leave. She considered stopping her, but she wasn't hungry - besides which, Tyson had gathered up all the food, so there seemed little point staying around in a noisy and crowded room. "I'll come with you," she told Alyssa, "if you want to be somewhere quieter, then I can understand that, but you're not getting away from me that easily." Before they went anywhere, however, another boy came up, his interest in Tyson and his large meal. "Hang on," she told the other girl quietly, pinching the fabric of her sleeve, before turning back to the boy. "What's your problem then," she asked, sighing. The people who had been bugging Clark had stopped after she arrived, but it didn't surprise er that more people would start approaching them.

Tyson looked over his sholder to see a boy standing asking about his tray of food. " hey, how are you? do I know you?" tyson then stood up and turned to him and said, "Alyssa don't leave this might get interesting." Alyssa put her book back in her bag and said, "Alright, I'll stay." In soft voice. Tyson then looked at the boy and said, " If you have a problem with me then we should settle ity in a duel." Alyssa smiled at the idea of one of the only people she knows dueling.

"I'll be happy to oblige," Haku said putting his vest in a set next to wear he currently stood. He grabbed his Deck out of his golden deck box and jammed the deck into its compartment in the disk. His blue trimmed disk looked like it belonged to Obelisk Blue student but really Haku had just bought it on his plan to join Obelisk Blue before the end of first semester. Hake smiled and began speaking, "I am Haku Purotekuta. "And I will be letting you take the first turn, mysterious fat-man."

[Hunderas]

Clark now finished with his meal was glad that he got something to eat before the next person came up. "A dual, that sounds fun. But wouldn't the food go bad by the time the dual would be over? Besides that you can't dual in here." Clark was amazed at the Obelisk Blue dual disk. "So are you part of Obelisk Blue?" Clark stood up and stretched "So why don't you sit down, eat, then you can dual whoever you want." Clark went and moved over by Alyssa who now was sitting down. "Here you can even sit in my seat." Clark said gesturing towards his now empty seat.

Haku bowed to the guy's generousness, "Well I don't feel right eating his food." Haku was suddenly embarrassed he knew he wasn't good with confrontation and it obviously hadn't improved. "No, I'm not in Obelisk Blue. "Yet," he added quickly. "But still the lunch lady said it would take a while so why don't we go outside and have that duel anyways?" He looked towards the kid in front of him and ran his hands threw his blond hair awaiting his answer, "Oh by the way. "What is everyone's name?" he asked quietly.

[Devack]

Tyson rapped up his food and turned to Alyssa. " Alyssa can i borrow your dueldisk. i kind of left mine at my room." Alyssa pulled her deck out of her duel disk and handed it to him. " I'm Tyson and one I'm not fatand two i'm going to beat you going to have to beat you know." Alyssa went outside with them, she sat under a tree and started to wait. Tyson drew five cards, " thanks for letting me go first. now I draw." he drew a card and a smiled appered on his face. "First I place three cards face down," three cards appered before him, " and i set on monster in defence mode." last another card apperd in front of him. " Last I'll activate my field spell Mausoleum of the Emperor." a massive tempale appered behind him. " this card allow both of us to normal summon monsters without tributing by paying 1000 life points for each monster needed to tribute and now I end my turn." alyssa was interested with this duel.

Jenis followed the others outside, and sat down next to to Alyssa to watch the boys duel. "Ah, boys," she said, "always so confrontational, and such big egos." Jenis didn't have any actual experience with boys, and she had in fact overheard some other girls saying as much in the dorm, whilst she was finding a room, however from what she had seen, she did have to agree with the sentiment.

Tyson made his move, using almost his entire hand including a field spell he didn't even use. "Well that's pointless," she noted, "now that other guy can easily get rid of it before he can use the effect, or use it himself." She glanced at the other girl, who seemed to be interested. "So, how did you and Tyson meet then."

[Hunderas]

Clark followed the line out the door to watch the dual. He was interested in what type of decks each of them had. All he seen out of Tyson so far were a bunch of face downs and a field spell. "Well this is going to end fast." Clark said standing behind the girls. Clark sat down, putting attention towards the dual. He pulled out his deck and shuffled through the cards tell he landed on Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon. "Hey do either of you know exactly how this card works? The person that gave it to me didn't explain much of it and all he did tell me was that I need to sacrifice a dragon to get it out. The Store Owner is really starting to get senile on me."

[Time Psyduck]

Jenis turned to the boy, a rather incredulous look on her face. She took hold of the card for a moment, twisting it to get a better look at it, before releasing the card. "You use it to summon other dragons," she replied. "You are aware that it tells you how to use it right there on the card, and you could just read it, right? Once you do that, it's pretty obvious what it does. Dragons really don't do things with subtlety."


"Really, don't worry about it. Most people have that problem at some point, and it'll fade in time." Silver Doyle, the head of the Ra Yellow dorm, told a young boy, who stood up.

"Thanks Mr Doyle," the boy replied, heading for the door.

"It's fine. If there's anything else, feel free to come back. Now, the new students are arriving, so you should go and meet some new people."

The boy left, and as soon as the door closed the kindly expression of the teacher vanished, being replaced by a far more malevolent one. He stood up and looked out of the window. [i]So many new students, [/i]he mused, [i]plenty of pickings for the Cathedral.[/i]

Alyssa looked at jenny and said, " he use to be my neighbor. I also helped teach him how to play the game. One week before my application duel I had my deck stolen. Tyson spent the entire week getting my deck back. He came home everyday with cards from my deck and some injeries, but he made sure I had my deck for my duel." Alyssa looked back at the duel and said, " i wonder what he has playing he would never waste a turn. Tyson looked at her and smiled. Alyssa looked back at jenny and said, " I belive he actually has a plan. Tyson thought to himself, " come on fall for my trap summon a level seven or eight monster."

"I'll draw," Haku said. He wondered why his opponent hadn't used his Mausoleum of the Emperor field spell. He could have easily used it summon a powerful monster. It hit him then, he wanted Haku to summon a strong monster then use one of his face downs. He looked through his hand and found he had the perfect card for this situation, "I activate Heavy Storm. "With this card I can destroy all Spell and Trap cards on the field." [i]Time to get serious, [/i]Haku said to himself. "I activate the effect of the Thunder Dragon in my hand. "By discarding it I can add two more Thunder Dragons to my hand." He smiled, "Next I activate the Spell Card Photon Veil which allows me to return 3 LIGHT monster to my deck in return to add up to three level four or lower LIGHT monsters from my deck. "I'll return both Thunder Dragons I just added plus Goddess with a Third Eye." He looked at his opponent who was awaiting his next move, "Now with this card I'll be adding three Daybreakers to my hand." His smile widened as he switched his cards, "Next comes the Spell Card Photon Lead." He jammed the card into its spot in the duel disk, "This card lets me Special Summon on level four or lower monster from my hand. "And I choose Daybreaker!" He slammed a card onto his disk and white knight appeared in front of him. It had flowing long red cape. Haku continued his move, "By activating my monster's effect when it's Special Summoned I can Special Summon another Daybreaker in my hand to the field. "And thanks to that ability I can Special Summon another Daybreaker." Oddly enough he didn't feel like attacking and causing a lot of damage. So instead he planned to use one of the prototype cards his Uncle had given him. His uncle had taught him the chant many times, "I will create an Overlay Network with these three monsters! Xyz Summon! Appear! The ancients greet you, Vylon Disigma !" Vylon Disigma (2500 ATK/ 2100 DEF) A new monster appeared it seemed to be made of Golden armor and had long bladed wings attached to its arms. Black trim finished the armors design coming around in many Greek symbols. It had at least ten red glaring eyes all over its body and they all locked in on Tyson. "Now, Vylon Disigma attack his face down monster with Eradication Blitz Beam!" His monster took aim at his face down monster and beams erupted from its uncountable number of eyes. The beams crept closer and closer to his opponents monster.

Tyson was shocked to see all his trap and spell card leave his field. Tyson then saw his opponent summon a unknown monsterto him. then he attack his face down creature. tyson put his creature in the grave. Tyson looked at Alyssa and said, " This is going to take longer than I thought." tyson looked back at his opponent and said, " Nice move that was excelent." tyson then looked at the only card in his hand then he looked back at the Alyssa, " mabey not if I draw the right card." tyson motion his opponent to contnue his move.

"I place the last card of my hand face down," Haku started, "And end my super long turn, ends." He looked at one of the card's his uncle gave him. The machina had three glowing orbs placed around it and something told me those would come in handy. He looked at his opponent half sure he wouldn't want to continue after seeing this card; so he thought this kid was easily a feisty one and he would have fun ripping him apart the rest of the duel. He had a barren hand that had no cards in it and it took all that to summon this one monster. "Better be worth it," he said under his breath.

[Hunderas]

"Well if you promise you won't laugh, I can't read." Clark said putting his head down. "I'm illiterate, I only passed the writing part because I told the test taker there, and he read the questions aloud to me. hehehe. So there you have it I can't read, well I can read but only small groups of letters, like one word. Promise you won't tell other people?" Clark had a desperate look on his face. "You know what, never mind I'll just go now." Clark stood up as if to leave when Haku placed the last of his card's face down.
