Y'know, I've started watching some videos about overanalyzing the show, and it brought up an interesting point.

As idyllic and nice as Equestria is, for a human to suddenly live there as a pony would be... bad. In a way. 

Society in Equestria is vastly different from human society in most countries. The most obvious being the whole "Manually changing the seasons" thing, to start with. 

Romance can be complicated. There's a lot I can say, but I'll keep it short. Most couples are of the same race. In fact, almost the entire Apple Family (There's one Unicorn filly) is made up of Earth Ponies. In fact, in The Perfect Stallion, every pony the CMCs looked at were Earth Ponies. 

 

More importantly though, is the concept of destiny. In the human world, America especially, destiny is shot down. People think it's a stupid concept. In our world, we say that anyone, no matter who you are, if you work hard enough, and get lucky enough, can become whatever you want to be. Not so in Equestria. In Equestria, your entire fate is decided literally at birth, when your parents name you. Ponies are expected to know their destiny by the time they get out of elementary school, and embrace it.

 

The problem is, humans are expected to change all the time, constantly aim for something bigger. Ponies are expected to find out what they're supposed to do when they're children, then follow that for the rest of their lives, never changing. Basically, a human would probably have a hard time fitting in due to this main fact. Either it'd be impossible for a human to get a Cutie Mark because of their human traits, and they'd be a Blank Flank forever, they'd get a Cutie Mark, then be forever condemned to something that they might get bored of eventually, as is Human Nature, or they'd not accept their Cutie Mark, and ignore their predetermined destiny. All of these things would make them either unhappy, or an outcast.

 

Of course, if you get past all that, Equestria is still a hell of a lot more idyllic than Earth, so it'd still probably be a nice place.

Like, I kept looking at that show at different angles to see it for something different and with potential, but then this popped up, and like-
I just died inside. Like, if I know this is what awaits Me, for that future show, I just can't do it. I just can't bring myself to watching it.
Spike isn't Twilight's pet, Hasbro, and you damn well know this, too. But why are we randomly degrading him to a random backgrounder? Its highschool. You don't take pets to it. This isn't show-and-tell(they better not include a token episode like that). you leave them at home, and only see them when you get back; The show's premise IS the highschool; Pets, may as well, not even exist, given that concept. Hell, even if Twilight DOES sneak him into said place, all its going to do is put Twilight's being at risk for expulsion, until they herpderp and allow Twilight, but nobody else, to bring not-Spike along. But even then, it would deviate greatly from the show if they have to keep going back and forth between Twilight and her not-Spike, just to see him.... What... Running around aimlessly? We've all seen that before from this sort of show, its nothing original.
I'm probably over reacting, but still, they literally killed him.

I don't care if this is either fake or not, I'm now forced to mull it over in my head for, I have no idea how long, the possibilities of such a character existing.
I mean, his character was actually interesting, lead to some great concepts, hell, he even had a combination Godzilla + King Kong episode. I mean, personality wise, his had such a contrast to everyone else', it actually felt like something if/when He was able to give his own reports. Not to mention, moments with him had their own unique charm. But like, now hes some random deformed Mudkip, and doesn't even look like anything.
So if/when that show rolls around, and I miraculously stop posting here, you know why.[/spoiler][/spoiler]

That image of "spike" has been around since some time, after they first revealed the Equestria Girls picture. I call totally fake. Specially because we only have a little image of the six, compared to this big dog pic.

 

And about Issun's ruminations: If someone mentions how would life be in Equestria, I by default imagine myself being there as a human, not as a pony. Not really living among ponies, but close to them. Something like Zecora. I would help ponies in whatever I can for bits, doing stuff that may be easier for me than for ponies. I will use the bits to buy bacon from griffons (when I wrote this, the image of griffons as the Khajit in Skyrim. They sell Skooma, something tied to their culture but illegal in Skyrim, and the ones you find in the game are trading nomads. I imagined the trading caravan of griffons selling meat outside the cities). If I find a place near Ponyville, I would trade knowledge with Twilight Sparkle. I'm sure ponies can find better uses for nuclear energy knowledge than we do. Of course, if I let her see completely into my mind without a filter, she may end up thinking mankind is too big a threat to be left alone, and start a interdimensional war.

That would make sense, yes, but most stories that I've heard of (Albeit not read. I don't read fanfics) have the human turning into a pony.

Staying human would probably be preferable, but cause more difficulties. Of course, assuming that the Ponyvillians learned their lesson from Bridle Gossip, then those problems would be minute.
