Giga Hand
There exist good equip spells already (at least that aren't banned). Ones that give plusses upon being sent to the graveyard. Vylon equips, Supervise, that's all I can think of... Yeah, equips need support if they're gonna be good. Kinda like rituals and fusions. Wait a minute... *gets the logic behind recent duel terminal archetypes* Let's see how these guys compare to Vylons... Crimson's first effect seems unnecessary. If you can turn any variable blade into a flaming sword, why not have it gain the effect upon being equipped with any variable blade? I'm guessing name manipulation of the equips is gonna be a theme. Given that you need to dedicate an extra card to use this effect, I say it's wonderfully balanced. OCG fix: Once per turn: [s]you can[/s] reveal 1 "Variable Blade" Card in your hand. If you activate a card with the same name this turn: that card's name becomes "Flaming Sword - Variable Blade". If this card is equipped with a "Flaming Sword - Variable Blade": It gains the following effect: Once per turn, you can banish 1 Equip Spell in your Graveyard; Send 1 Monster your Opponent controls to the graveyard. Cyan... Lemme guess: this set's gonna have Xyz monsters. Even effects that give plusses briefly can easily be pretty broken, just look at Rescue Cat. Given the high ATK of this set this can allow for some pretty powerful beatdown followed by Xyzing, I hope the variable blades don't all give ATK boosts! OCG fix: Once per turn: [s]you can[/s] target 1 "Equip Knight" Monster in your Graveyard; Special Summon that target. It cannot be used as a Synchro Material Monster, and is destroyed during the End Phase. If you activate this effect: Destroy all Equip Spell Cards you control, then add 1 "Bubble Buster - Variable Blade" From your Deck to your Hand. Gold I can't comment on until I see the the squire(s). OCG fix: [s]You can[/s] Pay 500 Lifepoints; Equip 1 "Variable Squire" Monster from your Hand to this card as an Equip Spell Card. Silver is OP. Steelswarm Roach is a good card and it only stops level 5 and higher monsters, and even then it's hindered by the awkward summon negate timing rule. This is more powerful, easier to summon, and has other effects to boot. Needs a nerfing, it's Kristya on steroids. You could just drop that one effect and this card would be fine. OCG fix: While this card is face-up on your side of the field: Neither player can Special Summon a non-"Variable Squire" or "Equip Knight" Monster. When this Card is destroyed by Battle and Sent to the Graveyard: target 1 "Variable Blade" Card in your graveyard, Except "Creeping Shadows - Variable Blade"; add it to your hand. If this card is equipped with a "Variable Blade" Equip Card, it Gains 1000 ATK, and when it attacks a defense position monster, Inflict Peircing Battle Damage to your opponent. Lime... One question. You seem to be adding a bunch of mostly unrelated effects to the same card quite often. Why? I'm not saying it's an inherently bad thing, but I don't want to overcomplicate the game every time I play a card. Shi En has 2 effects, one relates to his archetype and the other is ^&*$%ing annoying. That's one of the more complicated cards being played these days. I don't want everything to be all Vicious Claw all the time. If you really want more than one effect, try to make them relate to each other. Summoning conditions are fair game though. First effect, again I'll need to see the squire(s). Second effect, nice but I want to see the blades before I make my final judgment. Third effect, see above. Fourth effect, WTF that looks abuseable as all get-out. I can't think of a way to OTK with it but it looks like it can create some sort of crazy loops. Then again, Black Ptera isn't banned... anyway, given that it can destroy itself as a way to balance itself, in addition to its high attack and other good effects, I think you should axe this effect.
