Brighton made sure that the escort had really left before answering.

"My name is Brighton Velliri, a doctor at the Domino City Hospital." He answered and picked up a card from his pocket that had his name and work phone number written on it, as well as a picture of the DCH symbol on it. "I'm here because I heard from one of my patients that they were doing research on weird Duel Monsters cards that is said to hold significant power. I might be in possession of one, and thus wnated to get some answers."

William heard noises behind one of the doors leading deeper into the facility. He got up, and walked to it.

"Anyone there?" he said opening the door, and stepping through. He could not see anyone, but there were multiple hallways branching from the one he was standing in. Putting his hand on the case on his side, he continued down the hallway, and through a second door.

"Anyone? " He said again trying to find someone with answers. It had been a while since they had told him to wait, but he was starting to get worried.

"OPEN IT!!" Amelia shouted again, unaware that the technician had her the first time, but was unable to react due to petrification.

"Alright, alright, I'm opening it," the technician set to work trying to open the door, but before she could even begin, the guards managed to catch back up again. The technician breathed a sigh of relief. But she wasn't counting on Amelia handing their asses to them, although that did give her time escape. Amelia, however, was in hot pursuit. She had to get that technician back there to open the door so she could get some payback on Syra.

Meanwhile, outside the facility, the agent had gotten out of there in time to evade certain injury, and clambered into his SUV, before driving back off to base. He reached for his intercom as he was driving.

"This is Agent X, aborting mission," he stated, "Situations just got out of hand too quickly,"

"God damn it, X!" the boss spoke through the intercom, "That's another failed mission! What the hell's wrong with you?!"

"It's not me this time, I swear," the agent tried to responded, but the boss had cut the transmission, obviously sick of the agent's 'whining', so to speak, "One of these days he'll understand. Either that or he'll do it himself for a change,"

The agent sighed as he drove onwards. Maybe the next mission would be remotely achievable, but only time would tell.

Hannah had either scared off whoever she was attempting to duel, or had simply been ignored by the staff. Either way, no one was coming to her, so she decided to go to someone. She charged blindly through the facility, passing by various workers and scientists who were quite confused to see a young woman running about carefree. However, as Hannah found out minutes later when she arrived at the beginning of the destruction Amelia hath wrought, security was quite busy. She stopped and slowed down, surveying the damage. "Crikey!" <Egads!> She declared. "Wha coulda cossed oll dis heah?" <What could have caused all of this here?> She continued through the detritus-filled hallways until she spotted a long-haired girl in biker attire, and pointed at the girl. "Oi! You deah!" <Oh, you there!> "Oi wanna no ifya di' oll dis destrakshun!" <I want to know if you did all of this destruction!>

"And what if I have?" Amelia asked the newcomer spitefully, still possessed by the unknown entity as of yet, "You think you can stop me? I'm more likely to take a liking to that horrendous accent than to be stopped by the likes of you!"

Then again, if only Amelia could listen to herself, she'd know that her voice wasn't much better. It sounded as though it were split into two different ones; one normal sounding voice and another that sounded sickly and smouldered, almost as if it belonged to a female burn victim. Amelia managed to crack an evil smirk, but deep inside her heart she was still fuming. Her skin had become white-hot, and within seconds, steam had become evaporating from her body. The pupils and irises of her eyes, which had already changed to the shape of flames, had also been moving about more vigorously than before, as if they were moulded into the inferno themselves. At first, her rage was directed at the agent, then Syra foolishly blocked her access to him and he become the target of her wrath. Now all of a sudden, she couldn't even get to Syra. It looked like Hannah would have to suffice.

"You don't happen to have ever been in a Shadow Duel now, do you?" Amelia asked mockingly.

Hannah was now rather intimidated. It wasn't the fact that this girl had caused untold amounts of property damage and personal injury during her little rampage. It wasn't even the fact that the woman seemed to have some sort of strange double-toned voice. No, it was the fact that she had JUST PRACTICALLY ERUPTED INTO FLAMES!!! Hannah gulped heavily, and asked. "Uhh...well, noa...kin we se-uhl dis witta noize freandly chet? Ya knaow...gurl un gurl...thet koinda teng...ya git wha' oi mein?" <Uhh...well, now...can't we settle this with a nice friendly chat? You know...girl on girl...that kind of thing...you get what I mean?>

Amelia admittedly wasn't expecting such a change of tune, but shrugged it off. Her opponent obviously had no idea that she forced the both of them into a Shadow Duel, her favourite way to play Duel Monsters and relieve her frustration at the same time.

"It's too late now: the Shadow Duel has already begun, as you can tell by the flames around us," she informed coldly, "Anyone foolish enough to attempt to intervene will be burned to a crisp, and they'll only get hotter as time progresses. If you value your life, I suggest you refrain from stalling."

Amelia drew 5 cards, but decided against drawing a sixth for the turn. Instead, she looked blankly at Hannah, not being surprised if she managed to scare the living daylights out of her, and figuring she better have the first turn.

"Well?! What are you waiting for?!" she scolded.

Hannah gulped again, realizing what she and her [s]courageous Australian adventuring spirit[/s] complete and total ineptitude at rushing in blindly into a situation had just gotten herself into. She activated the Duel Disk on her arm, and drew her cards, drawing six, since her opponent had decided to let her go first.

William was having no luck in finding anyone, employees or not. Every door he tried were either locked, lead to dead ends, or opened into more hallways. He wasn't even sure he could find his way back to the waiting room anymore.

"Wish I could find someone. Even a random guy in clown shoes would be welcome." William muttered as he tried yet another door. Suprisingly it opened, and he found himself into a room filled with computers. On a few of the monitors were shots from the hallways, and on a few of them were employees walking around.

"Ah computers. This is my kinda place." He said sitting down at a station that had a keyboard, and mouse at it. The background of the computer was a generic blue background, but it had 7 rectangles of rainbow colors that overlapped to create a circle. Each rectangle had the outline of white that seemed to make out a picture, but William couldnt make what they were out.

Okay, Syra thought I can get through this it’s no big deal, just so long as my deck gives me something good.

He looked down at his hand, a frown crossing his face when he realized he had no monsters in it except for his Emerald Skull Champion, which he was incapable of summoning.

Gimme a good card, gimme a good card, he repeated in his head as he drew a new card to start his turn, which turned out to be a trap card Damnit!

“Problems?” Zeus asked.

Syra ignored him, a pained expression crossing his face as he looked over his hand.

“Guess I don’t have a choice,” he sighed “I play the effect of my Emerald Skull Champion, by returning it from my hand to my deck I can draw 1 new card!”

“A pity,” Zeus shrugged “The exact card you need to win and you have to give it away, not like you could summon it anyway.”

“Would you put a sock in it,” Syra growled as he shuffled his deck and drew a new card “Okay, better. I’ll set a monster in defence mode and 3 cards face down.”

“This is quite disappointing,” Zeus sighed as he drew a card to begin his turn “I was hoping this would be more of a challenge, I suppose not.”

Syra didn’t reply as Zeus carefully looked through his hand to decide what to play.

“Well, I think it’s time we end this little charade, don’t you?” He said “I sacrifice D.D Scout Plane and summon Caius the Shadow Monarch!”

Zeus’ Scout Plant was swallowed up and replaced by a figure in dark, demonic looking armour that emerged alongside Mobius.

“Another Monarch, huh?” Syra muttered.

“Naturally,” Zeus replied “And Caius is one of the strongest of all, he has the power to remove from play any card on the field and as an added bonus an extra 1000 points of damage is inflicted if it happens to be a DARK monster.”

“Uh oh,” Syra muttered.

“Since you seem to use a fiend based deck I’m going to guess the majority of your monsters are DARK, including that one down there, so not only do I get to rid you of your defence but I take a serious dent out of your life points!”

Caius raised his arms, an orb of black energy forming between them which began to suck in Syra’s card, it flipped up to reveal a woman in strange white clothes with a horned skull decorating her head. The woman barely had time to cry out as she was sucked into the vortex and vanished.

“Brace yourself,” Zeus warned.

The vortex began to react with lightning surging from the middle until it blast out in Syra’s direction.

“I play my face down card, Spell of Pain!” Syra replied, his face down flipping up to block the lightning.

Zeus raised an eyebrow as the card shielded Syra from any damage, leaving his life points unharmed.

“Impressive,” Zeus remarked with genuine surprise “I wouldn’t expect a person such as you to possess such a card.”

“Heh, you never know,” Syra grinned “Now judging by your response I’m guessing you know what Spell of Pain does, so open wide and say ‘aah!’ doc!”

The lightning from Caius’ attack shot back out of Syra’s card straight towards the doctor, hitting him straight on and taking 1000 of Zeus’ life points. Zeus staggered back slightly from the impact, clutching his chest where the lightning had hit him.

“Well, I can see you’re at least capable of fighting back,” Zeus said “No matter though, both of my monsters have more than enough power to take you out with their attacks alone. Caius, Mobius, end this!”

Zeus monsters advanced forwards striking one after the other. Syra recoiled after getting a blizzard in the face from Mobius’ attack before he moved in for Caius to finish the job.

“Oh no you don’t,” he said “I activate Defence Draw!”

Caius’ attack washed over Syra but his life points remained at 1100.

“Ever the resourceful one I see,” Zeus said “You were prepared for both instances of damage and defended against them admirably, I suppose you’re not as much of a waste as I had thought.”

“Don’t count your chickens before they hatch,” Syra grinned “Or something like that. And FYI thanks to Defence draw I get to draw another card from my deck.”

“Indeed you do,” Zeus replied “I however will set 1 card face down and at the end of my turn my Scout Plane returns to me. Make this move count for I fear it may be your last.”

I’ll bet, Syra thought as he prepared to draw for his next move Here goes nothing!

OoC Notes to Obelisk: SLOW THE FRAK DOWN!! We're trying to have a Shadow Duel here! *in case you're that blind a bat*

Amelia was unphazed by the move, as she began her own turn. Now was the time to REALLY teach Hannah a lesson in what she was really rushing blindly into. But first, she had to draw her own sixth card.

"This is the beginning of the end. DRAW!! And I'll start by paying 1500 Life Points to activate Star Blast!" As soon as she said this, three random muscles in her body had begun to contract like anything. Normally this would hurt like hell, but with Amelia's abnormally high tolerance to pain, they felt more like they were merely sprained.

Amelia's LP: 4000 --> 2500

Fighting through the pain, Amelia took some time to explain how Shadow Duels worked, stressing the facts that Shadow Duelists used real monsters and real magic, and real pain was felt whenever damage was done to their Life Points.

"Now, to make use of Star Blast," she stated, "You see, I have a Level 7 monster in my hand, and with Star Blast I can reduce its Level to 4. This allows me to place it in face-down Defense Position. I'll also place 3 cards face-down, and finish with Mystical Space Typhoon, targeting that Spell or Trap behind that reptile!"

Within seconds, a strange tornado could be seen brewing behind Evoltile Odonto, and only got stronger and stronger. The occasional thunder strike could be seen within the tornado.

Hannah smirked, as the Trap Card flipped up, revealing the ghostly image of a snake-man clad in golden armor. He hissed, and Odonto disappeared as he sent a torrent of spectral serpents at two of the face-down cards. "Ha! Thet's whutcha git foa rushin' inta thengs!" <Ha! That's what you get for rushing into things!> "Oi aktevayte Uffaren' ta tha Snayke Dayetae!" <I activate Offering to the Snake Deity!> "Dis cahd ullaows moi ta distroi Ohduntoe inorda ta destroi two o' ya' foice-daowns!" <This card allows me to destroy Odonto in order to destroy two of your face-downs!>

"Feisty are we?" Amelia asked mockingly, "Too bad you've misdirected it towards my decoy Traps! Wild Tornado destroys your remaining Spell or Trap, and Vault of Greed lets me add 3 cards to my hand so long as I show them to you first. Now, let's see what we have here."

Amelia drew three cards, and in hindsight, should've not really looked forward to them. She already used her Normal Summon for the turn, and thus couldn't use Volcanic Counter, and now that Spiritual Fire Art - Kurenai was revealed, Hannah would likely see it coming from a mile away. Volcanic Shell, on the other hand, wouldn't be so bad in the Graveyard.

"Hmm, not exactly what I was hoping, but it'll have to do. I set Spiritual Fire Art - Kurenai, since you know I already drew it, and because of Vault of Greed's other effect, I have no choice but to send the others to the Graveyard."

Now Amelia was handless again, only able to rely on what was on the field. She didn't mind too much though, Spiritual Fire Art - Kurenai could perhaps bluff her opponent out off attacking, and she was confident the other face-down would provide back-up.

"Your move," she addressed coldly.

Hannah winced as her Gravity Bind was destroyed and sent to the Graveyard, but at least she still had some form of field presence. "Oi! Iz tha' ull ya gut?" <Oh! Is that all you got?> Hannah found out that, yes, is was all that Amelia had going for her, as Amelia ended her turn. Hannah subsequently drew her card, and was disappointed in the result. "Oll oi kin doah iz sit dis heah munstah foize-daown, bu' naow, Oil attek yoah foize-down munstah wit Evolsoah Searahtoe! Amelia scoffed as her face-down monster revealed itself to be the mighty Yamata Dragon, with eight snake-like bodies all joined into one entity. Lee draws what appears to be his final card by the looks of his grin. "Boy, you were better off not cutting me off and forcing me to duel you. I activate Mystical Space Typhoon and destroy your so called Messenger of Peace." A sudden gust of wind picked up around everyone and in an instant the card shattered.
"Now, I activate Level Eater's effect in my graveyard. Decreasing my Absolute Zero's level by 1 bringing him to 7, and Special Summoning Level Eater into defense mode. Now I summon my Effect Veiler in attack mode!" A slight pause follows..."You always wanted to know what my Spectrum Card was like didn't you? That's why you wanted to duel me. To supposedly claim not only a victory over me, but also my Spectrum Card. Well sir, I have some good news and bad news. Good news is, you'll actually get to see...well everyone will get to see how my Spectrum Card works. Bad news you say? Well...hehe...you won't be winning this duel. Synchro Summon! Effect Veiler and Absolute Zero!"

The crowd was in awe when the Synch of Absolute Zero was taking place. As the human-like figure was changing form into a snake-like Leviathan. Bigger than any human has ever seen. Then from the sky, a beam of light shot down where the HERO was standing. As the light disappeared, the Leviathan shot up from the ground.

"Synchro Summon! Amethyst Leviathan!" The creature flew around for a few seconds before settling down and hovering behind Lee. Then set out a might roar.

"Thanks to Zero's effect, when he got removed from the field he destroyed all of your monsters in the process. With your Messenger of Peace gone, no back row, and no monsters to defend you. I think this games ov-"

"Not so fast! I still survive your monsters attack! If you don't recall, I have 3500 life points. Your creature has 3200 ATK. And your Level Eater was summoned in defense, causing it to not switch battle positions."

"Did I say the fun was over? Leviathan activate your effect. Remove Zero from my graveyard and increase your attack my 300 more points. With that out of the way...FINISH THIS!" The Leviathan opened it's mouth as a ball of energy formed. Then, just as it started to let out a roar, the energy burst out. Heading towards his opponent and eliminating the rest of his life points.

With a sense of urgency, he deactivated his Duel Disk and entered his car. "The Vulture Project building is just up ahead. And if my research is correct, I can find some of the others here. And maybe they can help put an end to this 'war' that's been going on." He speeds off down the road with the building in his sights...

Tsuchi, standing by the road, tempted to sit on a bench, gazed at the roads, people crossing at a seemingly higher speeds than normal. His staring was interrupted by a speeding car, heading in the direction of the vulture projects building. As it drove past, he could sense some kind of action that was drawing a few people he saw earlier to it. "Seems like a good idea to get on the move right now," he thought, almost saying it out loud without noticing. "I've nothing else to do. Even if this IS a bad idea, it doesn't seem like my life is taking any exciting turns." Tsuchi, at a steady pace, took small steps towards the vulture projects building...

William sat in the chair watching two duels go on, as a moniter was covered in static. Although he couldn't make out what the people were saying, or tell what cards they were using they seemed to go pretty good for certain parties.

"These duels seem good." He said getting up, and going to the door to see if he could lock it from the inside, so no one would intrerupt him. When he sat back down, he started to look through the files that he could access from the station, while continuing to watch the duels.

"Where are the guards though? If these duelist are the intruders they should be that much trouble should they?" William whipsered to himself wondering.

As Lee approached the building he slowed his speed. Not wanting to draw much attention by the law enforcement. He finds an open spot on the side of the road and parks his car. He pauses for a second as he slowly reaches for his duel disk in the passenger seat.

"Something's going on here, I got that gut feeling.I hope there's no conflict already with the Spectrum Cards..."

He places the duel disk on his wrist and gets out. Shuts the door, locks the car, and proceeds towards the Vulture Project building. As he walks, he notices people moving at a slightly faster pace than normal towards the building, as he thinks to himself, "What could be going on that draws this many people to one building? I didn't hear about any promotion going on or event. Whatever it is, I have to get there fast. And hope no one stops me for a duel..." Lee finishes his thought and starts jogging towards the building in hopes to find what is bringing all the people.

Tsuchi was nearing the vulture projects building. As he got close, he caught sight of a familiar face. "That guy... Was he in that car?" He searched for a car parked near. "There. Lots of people have been going there today." Tsuchi had an awkward feeling spark around him, not used to talking to completely random strangers and asking such a question as that.

Hannah cried out loudly as the pain from her Life Points dropping rocketed through her body, making her feel like every muscle in her body was on fire. She continued to scream in agony while Cerato was beaten back by the massive eight-headed serpent. (Hannah: 3000 LP) Finally, after a minute, Hannah slowly got up, her legs shaking a bit as she righted herself. "Soah...Dat's wha a Shadaow Gayme fills loik..." <So, that's what a Shadow Game feels like...> "Dat wus...reely 'ntinz..." <That was...really intense...> "Woi...Woi ah you doin' dis?" <Why...Why are you doing this?> "Woi moik samwon u joost mitt fayll dis koinda payne?" <Why make someone you just met feel this kind of pain?> "Whu di' oi avah doo ta' u?" <What did I ever do to you?> "Regahdlass, oi ind moi tahn." <Regardless, I end my turn.>

Amelia turned a deaf ear to Hannah's speech, and instead focused on drawing her next card, after Yamata Dragon returned to her hand of course. She snickered quietly to herself... well, at least it started off quietly, before it transformed into a maniacal laugh.

"I have everything I need to wipe out your Life Points right now!" she shouted, "I summon Gaia Soul the Combustible Collective in Attack Position, and then reveal my other trap! Backfire, ACTIVATE!!"

An orange cloud-like mass with a single eye levitated across the field, staring straight down at Evolsaur Cerato. At the moment, this monster wasn't quite powerful enough to tackle the dinosaur, but Amelia's turn wasn't done yet.

Pyro-type/FIRE/Level 4/2000 ATK/0 DEF

"Now since I have a Volcanic Shell in my Graveyard, I can pay 500 Life Points to add another one to... Gah, my HAND!!" A burning sensation enveloped Amelia hand as she snatched a Volcanic Shell from her Deck. For a second there, the card itself seemed to have caught fire, but returned to normal as she finished with the extraction.

Amelia's LP: 2500 --> 2000

"Oh, I'm doing fine," Amelia said, almost as if in response to a question she half-expected from Hannah, "You should be more worried about yourself! Now, brace yourself! I activate The Ignition of Armageddon, banishing my Level 7 Yamata Dragon, my Level 1 Volcanic Shell and my Level 2 Fox Fire to summon my ultimate monster!"

Lee stopped and turned with a confused look on his face as he seen the man talking to him.

"Hey there. I guess you're heading for the Vulture Projects building right? If so, I'd just like to know why. Lots of people have been going there today." The man asked.

"Does he know about my Spectrum Card? Is that why he stopped me? Or is he actually clueless? Nonetheless, I can't make it obvious at all."

"Interview for a new job, I'm new to this town and I quickly had to find something. I'm clueless on what they do here. And as for the others? Beats me."

He waits for a response as he thinks to himself, "Come on kid, I got to get in there fast!" Then he notices him slowly glancing down and tilting his head slightly. Lee suddenly remembers he was wearing his Duel Disk on his wrist. "Sh*t! I hope he doesn't ask about it. I've got nothing against that..."

"Interesting," Elizabeth responded. "If you didn't catch what I told the other doctor, I'm from Linwood; we're looking to invest in the work here-"

She was cut off by the sound of her mobile. "Excuse me," she added, putting it to her ear. She listened for a few seconds, quickly getting an understanding of the situation.

"I see," she replied, "I'll be there soon."

"It seems something else came up," she told Brighton, "I need to be leaving." She haned the doctor a business card, before turning to go. "I presume you can come up with something to explain my absence to our friend."

With that, she set off out of the lab.
