If anyone has any tips to reduce lag, please, do tell.
If anyone has a mic, mute them instantly.
Your lag is basically determined by your ping.
People using mic -> Raises everyone's ping. But if you mute them, then it will gradually rude to a stable level.

I see. Thanks.

Although, I was actually experiencing lag while in the "Training" thingy, against bots. Especially in big, crowded firefights.

Haven't tried online and won't until I fix the lag.

Thought so.

Hopefully my switch to the other lappy should fix it.
My lappy;

GeForce 8600M GT
2.2ghz

Yeah, prolly not enough.

Don't suppose it's an ASUS? xD

An 8600M GT should run TF2 perfectly fine, is it dusty/overheating/outdated drivers?

Edit: Also voice chat should not affect ping unless your internet is really really awful; keep it on.

Voice chat actually IS fine.
Its just.... When like 5-8 people are talking at the same time, and all using crappy mics, it can get a little laggy.

nope, not an Asus. XD

Actually, I'm running it on a MacBook Pro. Should have clarified earlier.

How do I update drivers? Isn't it automatic on Macs? :S

@Horus: I just reread one of your previous posts, and you may as well try going online anyway. In offline practice your computer has to act as both a server and a player which puts a lot more stress on your CPU, especially at 24 playercount and definitely in firefights.

I have a pretty good rig and I only get like 70-90FPS hosting 24 bots.
