[spoiler=Plot]In this alternate world of feudal Japan, samurais dominate the landscape far and wide. Each renown and powerful samurai are the leaders of their clan, and each clan has their own unique fighting style, techniques, and weapons. The main ruler of the clan is the Head Samurai and that person is the keeper of the entire clan's history, techniques, secrets, and other information relating to the clan that will one day be passed on to the Apprentice Samurai most trusted by the Head Samurai, usually a son or any other blood relative though there were some clans with female Heads. That Apprentice Samurai will then become the head and the cycle continues all over again as it has for centuries. Some techniques, commonly called Sword Arts, are so rare and powerful that they are sought after by other clans that will bribe, steal, and even kill to get that clan's techniques thus leading to warfare between rival clans. Because of these conflicts, there was one point in history that consisted of solely a century of clan warfare. The warfare was brought to a halt thanks to a powerful samurai named Tsuneo Kamimoto, who was said to have defeated a thousand samurais without ever drawing his blade.

After the war, the samurais reverted back to their old ways, living their lives by their swords and their clansmen; one day passing on their title, techniques, and will onto their trusted Apprentice Samurai. Lately, ten clan-owning samurais have been entitled with the rank of Myozamurai or Master Samurais, dictating them to be the ten strongest samurais currently alive as well as dictating their clans to be the strongest samurai clans. Just to be apart of one of those ten clans will earn a samurai respect of those samurais of weaker clans, and can even bring fear at times. Nine of the clans each had a Sword Art that is massively powerful, said to be able to split mountains and level the sea itself. Though, there was one clan amongst the ten Myozamurai that is considered to be the strongest. Strangely enough, it isn't even a clan but one single individual dubbed to be the "Strongest Samurai Alive". His name is Masaru Yamamoto. With his shirasaya and his ultimate Sword Art, he defeated all nine of the other Myozamurai in combat.

Seeing his mighty Sword Arts, all of the nine Myozamurai wanted to become his apprentices in order to one day claim his techniques for themselves. Surprisingly, Masaru gave each one of the Myozamurai a sealed scroll which he told them that each one contained one of his powerful Sword Arts. They all attempted to open the scrolls by any means necessary but alas none of them could open the scrolls. When they ask Masaru what is the key to opening the scrolls, Masaru simply answered, "The key is the spirit of the samurai." Still confused, the nine asked for Masaru to be more clearer but Masaru refused to tell them anymore and simply left. Ever since then, the nine Myozamurai have one scroll of Masaru's in their clan's possession but none could open the scrolls even till this very day.

A decade has passed and in those decades, samurais from all around the world came to Masaru's manor, asking him to allow them to be his apprentices but Masaru refused them all. With no Apprentice Samurai inheriting Masaru's clan, surely the Yamamoto clan will be lost in history, with only the unopened scrolls as a reminder of Masaru Yamamoto, the most powerful samurai.

Three more years have passed and unbeknownst to the samurai world, Masaru has actually already been training an Apprentice Samurai. This boy is named Ryunosuke Hasegawa, the heir to the Yamamoto clan. But this boy is very peculiar. He is afraid of blood and battling, and he has no talent whatsoever as a samurai. Even under the guidance of the most powerful samurai alive, he can't even learn how to hold a katana correctly, but for some reason, Masaru continued to train him. One tragic day however, Ryunosuke arrived at the manor to find Masaru, unconscious. After Masaru had awaken, he told Ryunosuke that he was terminally ill since the age of 14 and his death is soon to arrive. He continued on to tell Ryunosuke that he must continue on the Yamamoto clan, but a coward like Ryunosuke could never accomplish such a thing.

Masaru reassured Ryunosuke that he has the capacity to surpass Masaru himself and that he must seek out the nine scrolls Masaru had given to the other nine Myozamurai clans. Without telling Ryunosuke about the ten scrolls and stating that he believes in Ryunosuke, Masaru passed away, being left only Masaru's precious shirasaya and the weight of the clan name Yamamoto. At first Ryunosuke was sure that there was no way he could be able to complete this quest, but after some thought, even a coward like Ryunosuke rose to face the challenge; a difficult journey now lays in front of Ryunosuke. With news of the death of Masaru spreading, Ryunosuke thought it was best to run away from the manor, taking only the essential things with him.

I am not accepting anybody except for those who have already made a reservation beforehand. Those who have made a reservation have a limit of 1 character unless I say so otherwise. This an anime/manga-esque RP, so the story will be based on chapters, seasons, arcs, etc. and the overall atmosphere and tone of the RP will be like an anime/manga. Also, I will not be accepting any antagonists unless I say so otherwise. The use of profanity in this RP is okay but shouldn't be frequent and no major curse words either.

[spoiler=Important Info]1)The setting of this RP is like how you would imagine feudal Japan to be like with samurais, villages, and things like that. Also in this feudal Japan, there are things like yōkai which are supernatural beings in Japanese folklore.

2) Character creation-wise, have fun and be creative! Give your characters interesting qualities and quirks. Weapons can also have interesting powers so you can shot fireballs from your sword or whatever you desire. Just don't godmod. Samurai armor is only used during times of warfare and so your character's regular attire should be some type of kimono wear. The pattern, color, etc. on the kimono is up to you. And while I post a standard number of lines for appearance, personality, etc. those are just guidelines, being creative as possible and having a a large amount of content helps your chances of being accepted better than just sticking to the standard guideline.

[spoiler=Important Terms]1. Ikujinashi no Samurai Ryunosuke (臆病者の武士龍之介) - The title of the RP. To refer to the RP, you can just call it Iku-Ryu or something like that. That way you won't need to type out the whole RP name. When translated, the title is "Coward Samurai Ryunosuke".

2. Samurai(s) - The main focus of the RP. Powerful samurais have clans and special techniques unique to their clans. Some katanas can use special powers e.g. manipulating fire, transform into multiple blades, etc.

3. Clan - Basically a large group of samurais. Ruled by a Head Samurai.

4. Head Samurai - The samurai leader of a clan. Holds all the knowledge of their clan and is the most powerful samurai of the clan. The Head Samurai can pass on his clan and techniques onto an Apprentice Samurai he trusts the most, usually a son or other male relatives but there are also female samurais who have become Heads.

5. Apprentice Samurai - A samurai training under a Head Samurai. Can inherit a clan from a Head Samurai if chosen to do so. There are no limits to how many Apprentices a Head Samurai can have training under him.

6. Samurai Clansman - A samurai that is apart of a clan but isn't training under the Head.

7. Sword - The main weapon of a samurai. There is no limit to how many swords or what type of swords a samurai could have but usually a samurai carries around a single katana.

8. Sword Art - Special techniques that a clan possesses. They can range from a simple powerful slash and beyond. There is no limit to how many Sword Art a clan can possess or create.

9. Myozamurai - Myozamurai, or Master Samurais, refer to the ten, or now nine, strongest samurais alive currently and their respective clans.

10. Yōkai - Supernatural creatures of Japanese folklore. They appear often due to the fact that they're spread throughout the world in the RP.

Ryunosuke is 170 cm (5'07") and weights 58 kg (128 lbs). Ryunosuke has white-colored hair, light skin, and turquoise-colored eyes. Uniquely, when Ryunosuke uses his weapon's power, his eyes changes to become a glowing gold color that can especially be seen during nighttime. Ryunosuke's kimono is grey in color with gold trim (the zigzag strips of clothing). The pattern on his kimono is silver, a darker silver than his grey-colored kimono. His sash is the same gold color as his trim.[/spoiler]
[spoiler=Personality:]Extremely unusual of a samurai, Ryunosuke is afraid of blood and isn't very fond of having to fight. He usually freezes up when he sees lots of blood, especially coming from a battle. Because of this, even Masaru couldn't teach him how to fight. Ryunosuke is an extremely terrible samurai. He can't even hold a sword properly which is quite a shameful sight for a samurai. Though he isn't a fighter, Ryunosuke does have some pride as a samurai and he wishes to become stronger in order to protect the weak, but to do that he must be able to rid himself of his fear of blood first. Ryunosuke is pretty clever and he is able to utilize his reputation as Masaru's apprentice to his advantage. Ryunosuke is a pretty stubborn person and he hates it when people make fun of his unusual hair color. Ryunosuke wishes to one day be able to find out about his parents who has never met. Ryunosuke loves to compare himself to the snake in an old legend that one day becomes a dragon, referencing that one day he will become a powerful samurai in his own right.[/spoiler]
[spoiler=Bio:]Ryunosuke has no memory of his parents and was raised by Masaru ever since he was an infant. Masaru told Ryunosuke that he found him on the steps of an abandoned monastery. Masaru, from then, has raised Ryunosuke in secrecy. Growing up, Ryunosuke love to cook and read novels in Masaru's study. Ryunosuke enjoys tales about samurais and old folklore, his favorite being an old folklore telling about a snake who one day looked up into the sky and saw a magnificent dragon. Ryunosuke enjoyed reading the snake's journey trying to become a dragon but the ending pages were missing so Ryunosuke has never found out about if the snake had become a dragon. Because of reading that, Ryunosuke compares himself to that snake and he will one day become a dragon, or a powerful samurai.

When Ryunosuke was nine, he witnessed a brutal massacre of a family by a crazed ex-samurai. The crazed man attempted to kill Ryunosuke but the man was killed instead by Masaru. Ever since that traumatic event, Ryunosuke has been petrified of blood and gory scenes like that, and Masaru found it difficult to train him as well. Ryunosuke would later recover from that event but to this very day, Ryunosuke retains his fear of blood. Masaru continued to train and raise Ryunosuke in secrecy. The reason for this is because he doesn't want to place Ryunosuke's life in danger before he is able to protect himself, but of course, Masaru could not protect him forever. When Ryunosuke became sixteen, there was one time where he arrived at the manor and discovered Masaru laying unconscious on the floor. Ryunosuke rushed to help him to his bed.

Once Masaru had awaken, he was in very ill shape. Ryunosuke was worried as he had never seen Masaru like this. Masaru told Ryunosuke that he was sick with a terminal illness that he has had for over a decade, and he also told Ryunosuke that he doesn't have soon to live. At first, Ryunosuke didn't want to believe it, he kept telling Masaru to stop joking around. After awhile of talking, Ryunosuke finally accepted the fact. Masaru continued to tell Ryunosuke that he must inherit the Yamamoto Clan and learned the techniques of the clan from the ten sealed scrolls Masaru had created, nine of which is in the possession of the other nine Myozamurai. Ryunosuke argued that he couldn't do it, and that he doesn't have enough power. With his last bit of strength, Masaru shook his head and said, "Ryunosuke... I believe in you... You will be the one who surpasses me..." Masaru then died the next morning.

Ryunosuke was extremely depressed but he did not cry. He knew that Masaru would not want to see Ryunosuke depressed. And so, Ryunosuke taking the items he needed for his journey soon left. At the same time, rumors about Masaru's death started to spread far and wide, and once Ryunosuke had left, an investigation was held by several samurais. They soon found a grave on a hill nearby belonging to Masaru. The samurai world was in an uproar at the revelation of the death of the most powerful samurai currently had died. With that, the nine Myozamurai began a political and competitive war against each other to see who is the next strongest to be deserving of being the most powerful samurai and samurai clan alive.

Rumors also began spreading that Masaru really was training an apprentice in secrecy, and so the nine Myozamurai kept their caution as they continued fighting with each other. With that, Ryunosuke's journey begins.[/spoiler]

Ryunosuke's, formerly Masaru's, weapon is a shirasaya. It basically looks like the picture above with the same characters on one side and on the other side is the engraving of a dragon. The power that the sword has is unknown but it some situations, it increases the overall battle capabilities of Ryunosuke and changes his eyes from turquoise color to a shining gold color. In some instances, Ryunosuke is also surrounded by an intensely powerful golden aura said to come from the sword. Ryunosuke has never learned of the name for this shirasaya.[/spoiler][/spoiler]
[spoiler=Sword Art(s):][b]Sword Art: Dragon Tail Whip:[/b] A basic Sword Art that can be learn in any technique manual. It basically consists of throwing the weapon towards the enemy in a spiraling motion and once it hits its target, it goes back to the user like a boomerang. Ryunosuke has yet to even master this simple technique.

[b]Sword Art: Gentle Slash:[/b] Another basic Sword Art that basically is a slash with the blunt side of the blade in order to hurt but not cut or kill the enemy. Though Ryunosuke can't use this very well either.[/spoiler]

[spoiler=Personality:] Shizuka is a very passionate individual in anything that she does, expecially when it comes to the way of the samurai. She is completely devoted, and will put her heart into everything she does. A very kind hearted girl, but is quick to challenge other samurais into fights to prove herself just as good as any male. Due to the way she was brought up in her clan, she feels as though she has to work extra hard to prove herself as a samurai. Sometimes she can be very naiive, and slow to realize things that to others are completely obvious. Though she isn't a very emotional person, she is extremely sensitive when it comes to the fact that she is a female samurai but only because of the clan she was raised in. Shizuka is also quick to be angered whenever she sees someone who doesn't care, or makes a mockery of the way of the Samurai. Whenever she is angry, distrought, or just thinking about something she will often go off by herself to train.

Whether she is in battle or not Shizuka rarely thinks things through, finding it to be more productive to just go on instinct. She believes that if something feels right then she should just go with it. Because of that she is normally a very easy going person. When it comes to cooking she is very good, but is shy about cooking for others thinking they may not like it. Another thing about Shizuka is that she will never apologize verbally, but instead will cook for that person as a way of saying "I'm sorry" Though most people don't know it she is extremely skilled in calligraphy, and is also very shy about people seeing her art. Shizuka is very awkward when it comes to the opposite sex, and doesn't look forward to meeting or marrying her future husband, but she suppose that she would just have to cross that bridge whenever it came.[/spoiler]

[spoiler=Bio:] Shizuka Hitomaru was born into the Hitomaru clan, one of the 9 Myozamurai clans. In this particular clan the apprentance of the head samurai was always a direct descended unlike most clans who took the most promising samurai in their clan. Another odd thing about this clan, was that there had never been a time when a female was chosen to be the apprentice, however that all changed once Shizuka was born. You see her mother had always been ill every since she was a little girl, and it was because of this illness that no one ever beieved that she would be able to concieve. So it came as a great surprise when the clan's head married the young ill woman, but it came as an even greater surprise when news spread of her pregnance.

No one believed that she would last the entire 9 months, but alas she did and on that day Shizuka was born. Sadly there were two problems with her. For one, she was a very sick baby and was quickly put under the care of the best doctors. The second problem, at least for the Head Samurai, was that she was a girl. Another child would not be able to be birthed, especially not by his wife who had died only 3 weeks later. Without any choice he raised Shizuka giving her harsh and rough punishments for behaving out of line. She was always looked on as very week and unworthy to be future successor of the clan.

Due to that, before she had even turned 1 years old her father was already searching for strong clans and families with strong leniage to wed his daughter too. No one would take a female samurai serious, or so was the beliefe of this particular clan. He eventually found a suitor, would grow up in a powerful and respectable clan. He was a couple of years older, but only by a few years and with the thought of a male running his clan, Shizuka's father felt a little better about his clan's future. He still worked his daughter very hard, always pushing her to train above all else so that she can live up to his and the clan's expectations of his apprentice.

Even with her fathers constant training sessions, which she didn't mind as she felt obligated to prove herself to everyone including herself, she still managed to fit calligraphy and swimming into her free time. Due to her being a female she was taught all of the essentials of how to be the "perfect housewife". As in cooking, child care, washing clothes and anything else she needed to know.[/spoiler]

[b][u]Combat Info[/u][/b]

This sword is called Man'yogana, and is given to the apprentice after he or she is found. When the blade of Man'yogana is plucked it sends out a special sound wave that will only effect the one holding the balde. It was given the name "Samurai Mode". The user's eyes will shine a bright blue, and when it does the user's senses are enchanced tenfold. Their hearing, smell, sight and reaction time is increased dramatically. However, speed is the main thing that seems to be increased. Those who have used the technique have expressed that everything appears to be in slow motion, which is why they appear to have gained so much speed. This state only last for as long as your body can handle it, which for most is 4 or 5 minutes, but it is heard that it has once been used for up 10 minutes. When the effects wear off the person is often suffers from muscle fatigue and will be unable to move due to the high strain the technique puts on the body. Shizuka is able to maintain this state for 1 minute.[/spoiler]

[spoiler=Sword Art(s):]

[b]Sword Art: Gentle Slash[/b]: Shizuka uses this technique quite a bit, and has more or less mastered using the technique. Explained in Blu's app.

[b]Sword Art: Wave Impailer: [/b]During Shizuka's "Samurai Mode" she can pluck the sword again and waves are once again rippled out, but this time the waves head for the opponent in the form of up to 5 sword shapped attacks. When the attack hit it not only has foce behind it, but also has a rippling sound wave effect that often causes ringing ears, bleeding ears and even some internal bleeding. It depends on the strength of the attack. At the moment Shizuka can use 1 "sword wave". Every time this attack is used 5 seconds times the number of "sword waves" is subtracted from the total time in her "Samurai Mode".

[b]Sword Art: Heavy Impact: [/b]It is basically a series of 3 or 4 different sword slashes that is above average in strength. Has the capacity to cut through thick tree trunks. When this technique is used the sword glows blue. [/spoiler]

[spoiler=Personality]
Kiyoshi is a just plain all around calm and relaxed person. It sometimes seems like it'd be virtually impossibe to get him even remotely upset about anything and the same could be said about surprising him. He tries to avoid putting the maximum amount of effort into something. Kiyoshi will try and talk his way out of fights and bad situations and although he may may sometimes fight, he'll only fight seriously if his life or the life of somebody he cares about is in danger.

Kiyoshi is a generally nice guy that'll help whoever he sees in trouble. Whether it's from helping an old ladycross the street or helping an old lady fight off ninjas he'll help if he's there and can. If he is forced into a fight he will tend to not take the fight seriously unless he feels that his life or the life for the of somebody he cares about is in danger.

[spoiler=Biography]
Kiyoshi was born being the second son of the head of the Mizushima family. Although not being one of the Myozamurai families it was still a well known and respected family. Since he was only the second son nothing was really expected of him. He'd spend his days just relaxing and sleeping. This changed when his older brother, Ken, challenged him to a fight.

The Mizuchi sword had refused to work with Ken yet again and he was having obvious difficulties with his swordsmanship. He was forced to work hard every day and seeing his brother take another one of his afternoon naps just seemed to make him snap. He challenged him to a practice match but Kiyoshi of course refused. This mad Ken even more mad. He threw a practice sword to Kiyoshi and attacked.

Kiyoshi easily fended off every attack from Ken in such a way that it looked like he was just playing around even though this was his first time even holding anything resembling a sword. He was a born natural. After a few minutes Kiyoshi had gotten bored and wanted to go back to napping so he quickly tapped the sword on Ken's shoulder and won. Unbeknownst to the two their father had seen everything.

The next day Kiyoshi's father had presented to him the Mizuchi sword and told him that if he could unsheathe it then it would be his and he'd become his new apprentice. Although he knew part of him would miss his old lifestyle he was tired of his meaningless existance. Kiyoshi was able to succesfully unsheathe the sword and became the new apprentice.

It had only been four years since Kiyoshi had unsheathed Mizuchi and he's been training hard, except when he's running off to relax or nap, ever since. And after four years a terrible thing had happened. A man's body had been found in the Mizushima dojo. The body of none other than Isamu Mizushima, the head of the Mizushima clan and father to Kiyoshi. The Mizuchi blade was stabbed through his chest and pinned his body to the wall.

Kiyoshi, being the only one known to be able to use the sword other than Isamu was of course blamed for it. With no way to defend himsef he was forced to take the sword that rightfully belonged to him and run. He's been on the run since to either figure out a way to clear his name and if he couldn't do that he was at least going to get redemption even though it was a crime he didn't do.

[b]Water Deity Sword Art: Rising Pillar-[/b]He can plunnge his sword into any body of water and raise it up to create a pillar of water based on the size of the body of water. It's used mainly for defensive purposes but can be used for offense as well.

Ability(s): Kiyoshi has weak control over water but he can easily manipulate it when using Mizuchi to directly control it. Small waves and moving a bout a bucket's worth of water freely move through the air are about the best of his ability without using his sword. With his sword a large upward slash starting from a large body up into the air can raise up a large amount of water to create a large wave. He also has the ability to "pressurize" the water in his attacks that give them increased power. Using this ability is very rare of him though.

Tetsuo although only 16 has quite a good understanding of different people’s personas, he can often judge them just by their body language and facial expressions. Tetsuo is often thought of as strange upon a first meeting with him due to his numerous quirks/habits. It is rare to see him in a displeased mood or angered, he always retains an upbeat attitude full of optimism. Although Tetsuo is a good judge of different people’s personalities, he does get confused very easily with quite simple things, and often asks people to either repeat themselves or ask someone else to explain things to him.
Tetsuo does often get on people’s nerves but it is generally drowned out through his kindness and giving nature. Tetsuo believe in life and allowing many to live, they say that is his main flaw in becoming a samurai, his ability/curse to be so merciful. Tetsuo adopted this sense of mercy through the Head Samurai, although many others in his clan believe in death before disgrace. Tetsuo has many dreams and hopes, he will often push himself to achieve new heights and get closer to his goals.

The region of Hadarai is separated by 2 areas, 1, a mountain which is one of the highest peaks within the vast lands, the home of the Kazetaka clan, the other area within this region was homed by the Iroyuka clan who were situated within a large valley. The two clans for centuries were at constant war, mainly due to their opposite sword art and abilities, Kazetaka specializing in Wind elemental Sword Art and Iroyuka specializing in Earth elemental Sword Art.

Tetsuo was born into a single mother family, he was an only child and his father had long since abandoned the village upon his birth. His father’s reason for leaving was his inability to become the High Samurai of the village, although he was favourite to become the new Head Samurai upon the ceremonies proceedings, his younger brother, Tetsuo’s uncle was chosen instead. Full of rage Tetsuo’s father left the village and became a rogue samurai, leaving behind his eye-patch, and his most powerful scroll for Tetsuo.

Tetsuo grew up with his cousin from the village, his uncle, the current Head Samurai’s son. The two trained together endlessly and after years of effort, Tetsuo was chosen to be his uncle’s apprentice.

Not learning of his father until he turned 16, his mother had kept it a secret until he was chosen as an Apprentice Samurai, mainly so that he would stay within the village and not go chasing his father’s whereabouts.

After a war between the two Head Samurai’s of the 2 rival clans, attended only by their apprentices, the 2 had decided to not wage war and simply remain neutral. After this decision it was safe for clan members to leave the village and stay in the Hadarai region.

The secret agreement was that the 2 apprentices would train and after 3 years, they would meet to determine the dominant village. To today he has not mastered the scroll and only wears the eye patch whilst training.[/spoiler]

[spoiler=Personality:]Hikaru tends to always exhibit an absolutely quiet demeanor. Despite this, when asked for information, she can tend to give quick, concise answers unless asked for detailed elaboration, where she would do so. Despite how quiet she may seem, she is not afraid of showing emotion but will show it with slight expression. A small smile, for example, would be equivalent to a larger smile in many other people. This may be due to a potential restriction of emotion she may have had grown with during her time as one of Inari Okami’s messengers.

She definitely does have a sense of humor and uses that same demeanor to express and make it more impacting. In regards of humor, she is also without restrict in what she would be willing to make lighter due to a life of being uncaring or unaware of human standards concerning certain things, such as death or a fatal accident. Such is why she tends to be without a large company of humans; she doesn’t care for their standards. Because of this, however, many people tend to be disgusted by her apathy towards what a human may be disdained by, such as an extremely callous manner of speech in what would be tragic situations or the uncaring of human value in comparison to what some may see as an insignificant pest. A squirrel, for example, is what she would value as much as an emperor.

Because of this, she has grown numb to most emotional pain and can easily shrug off the death of most she would come across. Other things that numbness includes are common fears such as blood, height or the death of oneself. Where others would, perhaps, shake and speak to themselves in desperacy while holding on to the ledge of a skyscraper, she’d look down, lightly smile and comment on the nice view. This isn’t to say, however, that she would simply let herself fall. She, however, has a rather negative opinion of authority and the human virtue of humanity’s being more important than any other species of animal or entity.

In combat, she is rather cautious of many, many factors and enjoys adding a unique twist to her moves and fighting style for the sake of fun. While fighting, she reacts and attacks in a manner that would be considered unpredictable or very eccentric in comparison to how many other samurai fight. She uses her natural abilities more than her own Sword Arts or other techniques based upon her weapon. Additionally, when fighting, she moves faster in the air than on the ground, preferring to keep off the ground to add another twist to the battle unless said conflict is strictly weapon combat.

She has a fear and dislike of dogs, fleeing from a scene where one or more large ones may be present and attaining a rather negative attitude around smaller ones. It is an unusual sight for people to see somebody who tends to be so relaxed make her way out of any room with something nearly of her own species trying to communicate with her or be around her. She additionally has an unexpected fear of the death of large amount of crops; a fear naturally implemented, being a close partner to a deity of harvest and commerce.

Lastly, she has an ambiguous obligation to instantly find and ward off any, any evil spirits that may even come close to the area she is in. Because of what she swore to Inari Okami, a deity who practically gave her freedom for immortality and omniscience, she must protect any area of harvest that may be in tragic danger. She must also wish good to any farmer she meets, as a manner of showering good luck upon them.[/spoiler]

[spoiler=Bio:] Hikaru’s life began when she’d been manifested into a kitsune’s body to follow Inari Okami and be one of his messengers. Specifically, she was given her unique, silver fur/hair as a representation of her being one of his messengers, who, in legend, would be associated with a pure, white fox. While she did closely do as she was meant to, she’d always wanted a more free life and had escaped from him in order of search for that. It wasn’t in malicious intention, as she’d still kept minor contact with him, though was left alone after quite a while of aiding him. She believed that perhaps she’d done her part, being known by the deity to have always desired that freedom as long as she kept to the duty she’d been created with. In return from her freedom, Inari Okami took her immortality and omniscience and had her vow that, if she could, she must wish good upon farmers she encounters and save any potential harvest she can if such is in peril.

She’d next reappear in a feudal Japan as a kitsune, already warned of how many humans were wary and suspicious of kitsunes for their famous and mischievous behaviors. Her first decided action was to gain a social standpoint with humanity, imagining herself a female human body and transforming into it. Clothes were irrelevant, as well. Her entire outfit was made of her shape shifting abilities, anyways. This new form, though unwieldy, was what felt the most natural at the time and would become the form she travelled across Japan with.

She became interested in swordsmanship and ways of combat soon after, deciding to join Samurai clans and leave at her leisure and without notice, adding all the clan’s specific battle styles to her own arsenal in hopes of mixing and creating a unique style after a long enough time. At some times, she’d even be caught in her fox form, forcing her to leave. It would never have bothered her, anyways. She enjoyed the speeds she could travel the world at and would simply enjoy the wind at times, wondering wherever she would end up next.

This is when she stumbled upon the Miyano clan, which had a large tolerance to yokai and other types of spirits. Though she was the only of Inari Okami’s kitsune, she had felt more comfortable in the Miyano clan, deciding to reside there. She had been noted for her more special coat and exquisite battle style, having her become an apprentice samurai.

Despite all this, she would have absolutely no problem leaving this clan in hopes of roaming Japan more, simply adding what she’d learned at this clan to what she already has. Additionally, through her many, many years of mixing styles of combat, she is proficient in hand to hand combat, capable of taking a normal samurai down in a close ranged, weaponless fight with ease.[/spoiler]

Her sword is not created of earthly metals but more of spiritual, ethereal compounds. This means that, while it would never be bent, break or melt like metal really could, it requires a very small amount of effort to create. This, however, allows her to use the blade similarly to a projectile, throwing it, having it dissipate and reappear in her grasp. She cannot use her katana if she is in a very weak state because it would require a small quantity of energy that she would not have.[/spoiler]

[spoiler=Sword Arts]
[b]Kitsune-bi:[/b] When used, her blade glows a brilliant white. If she wounds her opponent while it is glowing white, which it does for up to a few minutes, the opponent receives minor shocks throughout the part that was cut and receives, in addition to the slicing pain, a pain similar to as if she slashed them with fire. They also sustain a wound that appears to be a second to third degree burn, depending on how deep the slash was. This is a skill that, when used, does not allow her to create electricity or fire until it ends. She can only use this skill every few hours.

[b]Chimei Senkou:[/b] When fighting with her sword sheathed, she can, at any given moment, position her hand as if holding the handle of her katana. When she does, she can have her sword instantly appear with the handle being wherever she positioned her hand, capable of cutting through anything it appears in. She could use this to, for example, kill an enemy in an instant if needs really be. However, this skill in specific could only be used if her blade has not been seen drawn by the enemy during the given fight.[/spoiler]

[spoiler=Abilities][b]Enhanced hearing:[/b] Using her (clearly visible unless intentionally hidden) fox ears, she can allow herself to hear much better than a human ever could and more like a fox. Her hearing itself is sharp enough to single out and put emphasis on a small movement in a relatively large area.

[b]Fire and electricity manipulation:[/b] She can imbue objects with flame and manipulate small to medium amounts of flame as well as electricity. The flames and electricity are both an illustrious, bright blue that almost looks white at times. Additionally, both are produced from her mouth or tails. During her human form, she could grab her hair and lightly pull as if pulling the fire or electricity if it was her hair. She is invulnerable to her own fire and electricity and may, for example, wear them on her fists.

[b]Shape shifting:[/b] She can shape shift between her human form and kitsune form at absolute will. She can also transform into any other person or an object but must get used to their body. She could easily pass for an enemy soldier in a calm situation but would not be able to fight very well until she would get used to the body.

[b]Minor flight:[/b] Although she has not completely mastered flight (for reasons of fairness), she only knows how to hover up to a few meters off the ground or jump at large lengths and slowly lower. With her current abilities, she can jump over a small house with the effort that any human would take for a normal jump.

[b]Dream manifestation:[/b] If she is near somebody who is sleeping, she may enter their dreams for half an hour at a time. The closer she is to the specific person allows her to stay longer depending on how close they are, but can only do this once a night. [spoiler=Personality:] Shizuka is a very passionate individual in anything that she does, expecially when it comes to the way of the samurai. She is completely devoted, and will put her heart into everything she does. A very kind hearted girl, but is quick to challenge other samurais into fights to prove herself just as good as any male. Due to the way she was brought up in her clan, she feels as though she has to work extra hard to prove herself as a samurai. Sometimes she can be very naiive, and slow to realize things that to others are completely obvious. Though she isn't a very emotional person, she is extremely sensitive when it comes to the fact that she is a female samurai but only because of the clan she was raised in. Shizuka is also quick to be angered whenever she sees someone who doesn't care, or makes a mockery of the way of the Samurai. Whenever she is angry, distrought, or just thinking about something she will often go off by herself to train.

Whether she is in battle or not Shizuka rarely thinks things through, finding it to be more productive to just go on instinct. She believes that if something feels right then she should just go with it. Because of that she is normally a very easy going person. When it comes to cooking she is very good, but is shy about cooking for others thinking they may not like it. Another thing about Shizuka is that she will never apologize verbally, but instead will cook for that person as a way of saying "I'm sorry" Though most people don't know it she is extremely skilled in calligraphy, and is also very shy about people seeing her art. Shizuka is very awkward when it comes to the opposite sex, and doesn't look forward to meeting or marrying her future husband, but she suppose that she would just have to cross that bridge whenever it came.[/spoiler]

[spoiler=Bio:] Shizuka Hitomaru was born into the Hitomaru clan, one of the 9 Myozamurai clans. In this particular clan the apprentance of the head samurai was always a direct descended unlike most clans who took the most promising samurai in their clan. Another odd thing about this clan, was that there had never been a time when a female was chosen to be the apprentice, however that all changed once Shizuka was born. You see her mother had always been ill every since she was a little girl, and it was because of this illness that no one ever beieved that she would be able to concieve. So it came as a great surprise when the clan's head married the young ill woman, but it came as an even greater surprise when news spread of her pregnance.

No one believed that she would last the entire 9 months, but alas she did and on that day Shizuka was born. Sadly there were two problems with her. For one, she was a very sick baby and was quickly put under the care of the best doctors. The second problem, at least for the Head Samurai, was that she was a girl. Another child would not be able to be birthed, especially not by his wife who had died only 3 weeks later. Without any choice he raised Shizuka giving her harsh and rough punishments for behaving out of line. She was always looked on as very week and unworthy to be future successor of the clan.

Due to that, before she had even turned 1 years old her father was already searching for strong clans and families with strong leniage to wed his daughter too. No one would take a female samurai serious, or so was the beliefe of this particular clan. He eventually found a suitor, would grow up in a powerful and respectable clan. He was a couple of years older, but only by a few years and with the thought of a male running his clan, Shizuka's father felt a little better about his clan's future. He still worked his daughter very hard, always pushing her to train above all else so that she can live up to his and the clan's expectations of his apprentice.

Even with her fathers constant training sessions, which she didn't mind as she felt obligated to prove herself to everyone including herself, she still managed to fit calligraphy and swimming into her free time. Due to her being a female she was taught all of the essentials of how to be the "perfect housewife". As in cooking, child care, washing clothes and anything else she needed to know.[/spoiler]

This sword is called Man'yogana, and is given to the apprentice after he or she is found. When the blade of Man'yogana is plucked it sends out a special sound wave that will only effect the one holding the balde. It was given the name "Samurai Mode". The user's eyes will shine a bright blue, and when it does the user's senses are enchanced tenfold. Their hearing, smell, sight and reaction time is increased dramatically. However, speed is the main thing that seems to be increased. Those who have used the technique have expressed that everything appears to be in slow motion, which is why they appear to have gained so much speed. This state only last for as long as your body can handle it, which for most is 4 or 5 minutes, but it is heard that it has once been used for up 10 minutes. When the effects wear off the person is often suffers from muscle fatigue and will be unable to move due to the high strain the technique puts on the body. Shizuka is able to maintain this state for 1 minute.[/spoiler]

[b]Sword Art: Gentle Slash[/b]: Shizuka uses this technique quite a bit, and has more or less mastered using the technique. Explained in Blu's app.

[b]Sword Art: Wave Impailer: [/b]During Shizuka's "Samurai Mode" she can pluck the sword again and waves are once again rippled out, but this time the waves head for the opponent in the form of up to 5 sword shapped attacks. When the attack hit it not only has foce behind it, but also has a rippling sound wave effect that often causes ringing ears, bleeding ears and even some internal bleeding. It depends on the strength of the attack. At the moment Shizuka can use 1 "sword wave". Every time this attack is used 5 seconds times the number of "sword waves" is subtracted from the total time in her "Samurai Mode".

[b]Sword Art: Heavy Impact: [/b]It is basically a series of 3 or 4 different sword slashes that is above average in strength. Has the capacity to cut through thick tree trunks. When this technique is used the sword glows blue. [/spoiler]
