However if you were going to add video to it at some point then you'd need a better microphone and a program other than Audacity to make it look professional. I think it helped a lot more since you looked more at specific player characters and interactions in more detail this time around, though to be fair there was a heck of a lot more plot to it than Numbered Days... Huh...Y'know the seven dragon balls joke made me realize that my RP has seven muggifins in it as well.......crud (In my defense they're based on the Spectrum and there are only 7 colours to choose from >< ) EDIT: Y'know, I can just image tons of newbies making RPs soley so they'll appear here and think that you'll praise them for their awesome and totally original RP and then bash the hell out of them XD Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I love the spectrum motif myself; I'm writing a fanfic on FF.net where the [i]villains[/i] are spectrum-based. The idea of "seven-MacGuffins-brought-together-for-ULTIMATE-POWER," however, probably needs some originality. I was pondering YGO! Spectrum for the next review, and thus, I've already seen the thread; I don't think they fall into that archetype, though it obviously depends on how you handle them. I doubt you'll screw it up. Peaking is speaking louder than the microphone can record, so you'll be on a tangent and then peak maybe once or twice, causing an awkward and annoying sort of 'puff'. It's simple to fix though, just be wary of your voice. Everything is though, is actually pretty good in terms of quality. Nothing too low or high. On the reviewing itself: A+ Not only were you enjoyable to listen to, but you hit home on a lot of things so called 'advanced roleplayers' (I use the term fairly lightly, since advanced RPs here aren't particularly advanced anywhere else.) would agree with. At the same time, you actually gave a lot of advice that would benefit the host and even some advice for the players themselves. Originally I just thought that you would review the RP and not character interaction, but I was pleasantly surprised. What I did find surprising were the scores you gave; even though they're kind of arbitrary, you seemed to be giving some really generous scores. In typical review terms, I gave them a D- and C-, respectively: not so generous. I'm trying to avoid peaking as much as I can; I didn't know what it was called until five seconds ago, but I knew the phenomenon. The trouble is that the mic is so quiet that I have to get annoyingly close in order to talk at all. Originally, there'd be an annoying puff every time I exhaled. >_> I'll be sure to watch my voice in the future, though. I figure that character interaction is as much a part of a roleplay as anything else, so I'd better touch on it. Actually, I've been on various RP boards, and the quality isn't as high as one might expect. For the most part, Hydra- or Rinne-level is about as good as it gets. I mean, the average roleplays here are complete crap compared to dedicated roleplay boards, but the advanced RPers here would be mid-to-advanced RPers anywhere else. If you're going to do X-over academy, it might be best to keep that for the Season Finale (providing you're keeping to relatively short season lengths). After all, seeing as you were involved in it personally, you should have some interesting insights on the matter. Interesting, I remember Heaven S. I briefly considered joining it, but was turned off by something I can't remember now- this was before it had started, of course. In any case, a weak storyline quickly overtaken by character drama in a relatively fantastic setting... sounds like how a lot of roleplays I've joined ended up, honestly. Mind you, one or two of the character concepts sounded interesting- Midboss as a Sherlock Holmes? It seems it also has a character music section, which I can't remember if you mentioned but is a fairly stupid concept... though they have a couple good selections there, comparatively. I'm getting a good number of requests, and X-Over Academy doesn't seem to be on life support or anything, so I think I'll put it off for a short while. I think the seasons will be thirteen episodes apiece, though, and it might die at any moment, so I'm not sure I'll be able to put it off that long. Eh, I'll see. It'll be special, whenever it is. Oh, don't worry. Neol displays absolutely no Holmesian traits beyond ambiguous homosexuality. I forgot about the music section. There isn't too much to say about it, though.
