OT: I find it funny as Avarice is a BETTER version of this, though less splashable

Better in the sense that it's still a +1 while returning valuable monsters to the deck/Extra Deck. Pot of Greed is superior as draw power.

Name 1 main charecter who didn't use this, in Yugioh GX. Just try. Its not coming back.

This card was annoying as hell in GX. Not because everyone used it, nor the fact they told us what it did nearly every time. The problem was it's such a predictable card, and not even a creative way to let them regain card advantage. Was the character behind in the duel and had only a few cards in hand? They'd get this card. Then they'd make a comeback. I actually could predict when they'd draw this, and the only times I was off was when they played it early duel.

To add insult to injury, the opponent would usually get Pot of Greed the very next turn, and COMMENT on how the card was sure to be familiar (Aster did this with Polymerization, too).

The only excuse was GX was very fusion oriented and that drained your hand FAST.

Pot of Greed, applicable whenever the writers of GX write their way into a hole.

Ironically, the only GX main character who didn't use PoG was Amon Garum(the guy with the Exodia Deck).

..yea but by that time the writers were smart enough to realise that PoG was banned, also, they didn't want him winning every duel with that deck if PoG was in there

Avarice isn't better, Avarice is still a dead card late game and will lead to dead hands. It's only good because of Reborn Tengu and Tour Guide.

Plus that feel when you get D.D. Crow'd.

It's still good in the sense that you can return Reborn Tengus and turn the Avarice into more plusses though..

Avarice was always good. And in this day, where milling, Special Summoning, and/or sending several monsters to the Graveyard easily is a common strategy, Avarice is amazing. Reborn Tengu and Tour Guide are even more broken because of Avarice, but Avarice isn't "good" because of them.
