I'll overlay as many cards as I want!

Just an idea about what I'd like to see from a few Xyz; the ability to overlay between x and y number of units instead of a set number. Risking more monsters for more effects like. Just an idea.

Lore: 2 Level 4 monsters
You can Xyz Summon this monster using 3 Level 4 monsters. This card gains 100 ATK for each Xyz Material overlaid on it. When this card battles your opponents monster and inflicts Battle Damage: You can detatch 1 Xyz Material from this card; double the damage. If this card has no Xyz Materials; all Battle Damage this card inflicts is reduced to 0.

May need a self destruct when it runs out of overlay units, but that might over encourage always using three monsters.

Anyway, hows the concept if anything?

The "Double the Damage" part shouldn't occur if it's a Direct Attack. Other than that, I'd think that once he loses all of his Xyz Materials, he'll be unable to inflict damage at all.

Had both of those ideas, glad somebody else told me the card would be better for. Will change momentarily once I work the OCG out..

Nice avi by the way.

I'm not keen on the idea of varying the number of materials - more than anything else, Xyz monsters are defined by the number of materials need. However, the way it's set up, with a standard number and the option to use another one granted by the effect actually seems OK. It also has an effect that works quite well for the varying material numbers, since it's something that can be very effective, but won't always be.

Since it has a base 2 materials, a lower ATK may be better - Utopia and Pearl are outliers with high ATK for their materials/levels - the 2 material level 4's average around 2100-2200. Maybe give it a small ATK boost, say 100, per material? It just give a little extra incentive to use more materials, and tailors it better to the whole "choose how many materials to use" idea.

Thanks for the comment, can see where your coming from. ATK to be lowered slightly.
