I would only try it at 1 and only because Xyz exist though. Il Blud, Zombie Master, Beast of the Pharaoh, Vampire Genesis, Blue Blooded Oni, Mezuki. Did I miss something? Genesis is bad. After that, using said Zombie Master's effect for this skeleton and then go for Hope doesn't really sound bad to me as an alternate choice instead of Synchros. At least [i]in theory[/i]. Also, last time I heard of Oni, everyone was making a hype about him. When did it become bad?
