Rose, google is horrible.
Deviant Art images are copyrighted.
Photobucket is too much.
No one here has any common sense[/sarcasm]

Try safebooru, that is my best option. Or ask around.
Try JazinKay, type it in google and it should be the first one.
The showcase section has images available. They are Custom Images Archive.
Striker, mine sucks.

But yeah, google isnt always bad... and i use DA images all the time, and photobucket isnt too much if you know exactly what your looking for.

Google just doesn't have the right images for cards almost more than 75% of the time.
dA images are copyright and require permission from the artist.
Photobucket has more images, photos persay, that do not fit. And the tags aren't that well used there.

The last time I used Photobucket, 8/10 images were messy banners or just too dang small.
Google works fairly well for me...then again, I have a lot of free time and work on card ideas before pics.
DeviantArt...all I'm going to say on that is they have the ability to hide their work from the general public. Unless they raise an issue or say in the description that it was something special, I just trust that they'd be happy others are enjoying their work.
I haven't looked in the Showcase section much, but what I make probably wouldn't work with what they do in the first place.

So, to answer your question, I'd have to say use Google if you know what you're looking for, Showcase if you're looking for ideas, DA is up to your discretion (if you're willing to bear any possible consequences, like replacing them if the creator rages or dealing with asking for copyright), and photobucket if you can't find something elsewhere. Outside of that, I can't say anything, though if it's something for PC or possibly similar, look up the respective Wiki. They might have good official stuff without plain white backgrounds.
