[Final Fantasy Revolution]

Everyone had started walking to the door including Shuski who was probably the least expected to go first out of their group. Jisan put his hands in the pockets of his pants and started walking towards the with his down and with an emotionless face. The pressure was getting to him and started to slow him but he never stopped. He was getting hurt alright but he had to brush it off until the end of the test so he wouldn't let on that he actually had a fairly low Shinsoo Affinity despite being part of the ten families. Upon making it to Lero-ro he looked up and smirked, Lero-ro already knowing he was apart of the families. "Your a bastard..." He said and than had to sit down for a minute, Lero-ro just smiled and examined the rest of the participants.

"YOU SON-A-MA-BEECHES! YOU WENT BEFORE ME TO SHOW ME UP! I SHALL NOT FORGIVE THIS!" The dinosaur they had teamed up with started to charged wildly into the shinsoo, he was stopped running in place for awhile but than eventually broke through and stopped his charge right in front of the guy who stopped him in the field. "Ah, so you CAN stop your charge huh?" He asked. "If it pleases me to." The dinosaur responded back with the same kind of smirk the other had.

"Seems as if we'll have to get through this first, Huake." Shade said to his equally mysterious partner as they both started walking towards the door, Huake behind Shade. "This...is...more than...I thought..." Shade said, Huake only nodding as he didn't speak whatsoever. Huake was being pushed back by the pressure and he grabbed onto Shade's shoulder. "AHHHHHH!" Shade said, screaming like a little girl. "Don't touch me!" He screamed and started running as fast as could, whilst still being hammered by the pressure, he ran so hard that when he got out of the shinsoo field and ran straight into the wall and made quite an indent in it. "Oi..." he said and fell on his backside. Huake powered through the last of the shinsoo field and than walked over to Shade, subtly kicking him to see if he'd wake up right away...

A young man, Mike, stood up and looked at his group. "SYKES, METSU, HAL, LET'S GET UP AND..." Mike started running. "GOOOO!" He ran straight into the shinsoo only to be flown straight back to the feet of his group. "Maybe you should just walk." Metsu, the only female on the team, said with a smile. "If you affinity isn't high ya don't get through huh?" Metsu said, Mike standing up. "I don't get this, that stupid ranker guy doesn't even look that strong!" Mike said, trying to push through the beginning of the Shinsoo wall only to slide to the floor onto his face. "Well, if you don't make it to the other side Mike, I'll surely come back and kill you." Sykes said with a smirk on his face. He and Metsu both started walking through, getting pushed back as they cleared one fourth. "Push!" Metsu called and they both pushed through together to the end, completely bruised but nontheless they were there. "I CAN DO THIS!" Mike said, pushing and pleading with the field of shinsoo and eventually making some progress. He was on all fours by the one fourth mark and by the half mark he was using only his arms to move his body further and further and at the three fourth mark he stopped. "I cant..." He started to say than the death threat he got from Sykes echoed through his head. "I think I should..." He said subtly and started pulling his body even harder. He eventually made it, covered in blood and bruises. "Lets...just wait for the other guy..." Mike said...

Noah nodded his head after koon had finished her explanation of shinsoo. "I see I see. Thanks Koo-Gah!" He had been quickly grabbed by her and was now being dragged along. He couldn't really complain though since it just meant less work for him. Even though he was just being dragged and not actually doing any work himself he could feel the pressure from the shinsoo. He soon coughed up a little bit of blood but wiped it off of his face with onto his guantlet. "[i]So...this is shinsoo? Who knew obtaining an easy life would be so hard?[/i]" After the two had made it through the door he immediatly went back to relaxing on the floor. "Thanks for the ride."

Dawn walked through the door and into the room, noticably quite a few people had made it through along with every member in his team. [i][color=#000080]"I guess I'm not to surprised, but it seems like no one has the same type of goal as me for climbing the tower, of course they haven't told me, but they don't seem like the type that would search for power."[/color] [/i]dawn thought to himself as suddenly his black blade began to glow lightly. Dawn began grinding his teeth as if experiencing pain.[color=#000080][i] "D-Darn it....the pain's getting worse, I need to use it...soon...can't store up any more of this pain..." [/i][/color]The black blade then began to dimin and Dawn returned to normal. [i][color=#000080]"The full power ofthe darkness..."[/color][/i]

Hal glared at the door - his teammates had a hard time with it, so it wasn't normal. It was amazing, though, to see so many get through. He could only wonder if the experience would be thrilling or painful, a quick saunter or a hour long crawl. As he thought, his face remained motionless as always, something he enhanced through his years of training. Hal shifted a bit in his armor, then began walking. At first, he could not tell what was wrong, he didn't feel anything. He began walking forward, and his tense body relaxed a bit. Big mistake.

Hal's heart skipped a beat as the shinsoo came onto him quickly and painfully, and he was shaking vigorously. A useless attempt to step forward was made, and only resulted in more intense pain. Hal couldn't take it, he knelt on one knee, and raised the hand holding his shield to wipe away the perspiration gathering on his forehead. He stayed there, losing great hope; the face he held so still twitched, and the mind, still comprehending the stress, became a overheated boiler, stressing over the difficulty and the pressure. He managed to get back on his feet, and shuffled - his vision was becoming blurry and his skin began to sore as he became tired - it wasn't muscle fatigue, but something else, something different. His body then acted on it's own, lurching forward just as it reached the frame of the door, jumping just a bit, enough to get him close enough to crawl the rest of the way. He got through the door, and his armor suddenly felt twice as heavy. His expression still stayed the same, a flat, expressionless face, but in his eyes, one could see the hints of great fear in what could be next.

He nodded to his teammates after the excursion. They all made it, on two limbs or four, to the end. He checked his shield, it still was trembling a bit. "Shinsoo,"[color=#0000ff] [/color]ran through Hal's mind. He would never forget it.

Kei followed along until suddenly he felt great pressure, [color=#0000cd][i]"Damn! That Shinsoo, I was warned about this... And this body isn't nearly strong enough to survive for too long... At one point I may have to reveal myself to these humans... They will never trust me after that! But no matter! I do not need them!"[/i][/color] Kei thought to himself as he struggled to get up a bit and began to move, and by more willpower he began to walk almost like normal.[color=#0000cd][b] "My will is stronger than any of these idiots... I just need to keep this up."[/b][/color] he said quietly to himself.

After Lero-ro explained the conditions for the next test Kry decided to wait to see if there was any tricks to the test. He watched as most of the people made it to the door, he tought the task was a simple one but he still felt a little uneasy about it. Kry watched as the human named Dawn made his way towards the door. When Kry saw Dawn make it to the door, he knew that he should be able to do it with no problems.

Kry took a few feet foward, he could feel a slight tingle in his wrist. Kry released a low pitched grow at the discomfort but continued on. As he pushed foward the unseen force known as shinsoo became more apparent. He head hung low and soon his back began to give as he became hunched over. Kry felt as if he was being forced to the ground, as kry continued he dug the nails of his feet into the ground for him to steady his balance. It was clear to everyone that Kry was experiencing trouble with his task. The closer that Kry got to the door the more pain he began to feel, his entire body was trembling from the force.

Kry seemed to be close but the force caused him to drop to his knees and before he could react he feel flat on his stomach. Kry remained on the floor motionless for a good amount of time. He felt as if his body was made out of stone. The door seemed so far away but Kry refused to stop, he did not wish to let Cisna down, his team down, and most of all him self down. Kry's eyes began to glow a menacing yellow and the veins on his arms, neck, and legs began to stick out. Kry emitted a terrifying roar and tried to continue. He had some trouble at first, he began crawling on all fours. Before long he found the strenght to make it to his feat, a stream of blood ran along the side of his mouth. Kry was making so very loud hissing nosie which resembled a snake but he soon made his way to the door. As soon as he reached the door hedroped down to one knee breathing rather haeavy, he looked towards his team mates and gave them a slight nod of his head.

Dawn smiled lightly and folded his arms, although he wasn't to fond of Kry he respected him for not giving up and passing through the test. Dawn didn't want to make friends with anyone in the tower, as he figured that his feelings would interfere with his further progress as he may have to fight one of them when they are not his teammates. Dawn didn't say anything and although the thought that the nod wasn't directed at him in anyway coursed through his mind, he didn't care, he returned that gesture, Dawn didn't respect just anyone, people had to earn it.

Dawn returned to observing everyone in the room, there were some powerful looking foes, he could sense their ability to control shinsoo, Dawn had quite a goodf mastery of Shinsoo as he would soon express it in 3 different ways.

As the groups finally finished making it to the other side, a few Regulars were seen begging at the Ranker to let them continue even though the rest of their teams hadn't been able to get through. One even tried to threaten Lero-ro before he blasted the Regular with enough shinsoo that it looked like every limb had broken at least 3 times. The rest of the failed Regulars shut up after that. "Well, now that we know who has made it on to the next round who's ready for the next test? Actually, I don't know why I bothered asking that because you'll be taking it either way unless you want to head back to the outer tower in shame."

[color=#000080]"Yep, he's in a bad mood now. Wonderful. At least the next test should be better though," [/color]Koon said, sighing heavily. [color=#000080]"It shouldn't be run by him anyways. I wonder if Evankell is off on vacation again?"[/color]

"Be quiet Miss Koon," Lero-ro said, smiling at her but a hint of danger in his eyes. "Well, just stay in this room and the next Administrator will be here soon to test you all. Have fun!" And with that Lero-ro left the room through another door in the wall, it locking closed behind him.

Dawn watched as Lero-ro blasted the kid away with such raw powerful shinsoo, [i][color=#000080]"Just like I thought...these Rankers, they're nothing like we've ever faced, speed, strength, intellect, then again they have climbed the tower, out of the millions who try. Fighting a Ranker would mean certain suicide." [/color][/i]

Dawn then began remeniscing

[i]He was sitting on top a high mountain, his legs crossed and his arms folded, he seemed about 15 years old. he was sitting across and older man who was his father and wearing white robes, he also had a pony tail hairstlye and long black hair. the clouds were visible to the eye on top this flat peak of a mountain.[/i]

[i][color=#add8e6]"Do you know why we train here Dawn?"[/color] His father asked causing dawn to close his eyes and think. [color=#000080]"Because it's hard to breath?!" [/color]Dawn replied causing his father to smile.[/i]

[i][color=#add8e6]"Believe it or not yes. Testing your Power in an area where it is weakened shows what you can truly acheive, like if you wear weighted clothes, you struggle to move, so your body must adapt to the extra weight, thereby if you take it off you will be quicker as you are also lighter." [/color][/i]

[i][color=#000080]"Hmph, do you really think there'll be a time when my power will be weakened?"[/color][/i]

[i][color=#add8e6]"It may not be the same scenario, but you might need to use your mind or your speed or mainly your reflexes, being able to adapt and excel at random situations, that is the goal of this training, that is the key to succeeding in climbing the tower."[/color][/i]

"What is going on?" Darius shouted out, hoping to reach Lero-ro's ears but knowing it'd be no use. "What is this place and what do they have planned for us! I cannot be trapped in a place which I know will be my ultimate death! This is insanity...yet I feel...familiar to this place." Darius then looked around at the walls. The artwork on his sword's matle matched some of the writing on a wall. "They are the...the same?"

Revenova was one of the last to make it through the door, but only because others had gone in front of him... and suffered their own fates. Some were howling and screaming in pain, others were lying on the floor dead. Revenova on the other hand was practically unaffected, and showed no signs of slowing down as he power walked towards the door, not even as he drew nearer and nearer. However, it wasn't until he touched the door knob the shinsoo finally started to take an effect on him. He received a disturbing flashback of his family, as they were being mercilessly slaughtered by another Dark Elf, presumably the traitor of the tribe. He was about to kill Revenova along with him, but his flamberge was at the ready to defend him.

The flashback ended. Revenova was still holding onto the door knob, so close to completing the task. In truth, all he had to do was push it open and step on the other side. All he could think about, on the other hand, was that memory. But if it was doing anything to him, it only made him angrier. He thrust the door open with plenty of force, and stormed into the gargantuan room where the other regulars were waiting for the next task that was to be ahead of them.

[color=#800000]"Enough of these paltry tasks!"[/color] Revenova exclaimed, loudly enough for the others to hear him, [color=#800000]"I demand a real challenge."[/color]

Shuski was relieved that the others were able to make it in as well, though he really didn't have any worries about them and was more worried if eh would be able to pass the test. He walked over to them, more so to the side to the man he met first.[color=#0000CD] "I-i actually believe...Th-this test was harder th--than the first test..."[/color] He said wondering which Ranker they would be given for their next test.

After Shinsoo had been explained to her, she still had only a basic understanding of it. But apparently that was what was allowing everone to breath, but too much of it was dangerous as was proven by the recent test. She never remembered feeing that way. Though it took her a while longer than the others to feel it, it was still...Powerful. [color=#4B0082]"The next test will probably be as equally tough[/color]." She mumbled standing by her team.

All the groups had gathered up into the room as they waited for the next test administrator to come and initiate his test, another door opened into the room and smoke came but not enough that it could be mistaken as someone attempting to cover himself. A man stepped out smoking a cigarette, he had an uncaring look about his face. "Greetings, I do hope your ready for you next test, because I intend to make it something you won't pass.." He said, taking a drag of his cigarette and blowing it in the faces of some of the regulars. "Here's how were doing this. All teams will line up now, and you'll each come into this room one team at a time, there I will give you more details about this test. By the by, my name is Myto Orreck; I hope you brought your sanity, you'll need it." Myto said and than walked through his door to his room.

Everyone was lined up, it was time to start the test and everyone was probably thinking the same thing "What have we gotten ourselves into?" The first team walked in and the door slammed shut, the outside room was so quiet you could hear a pin drop but still there was nothing to hear from the inside room, after ten minutes horrible blood curdling screams could be heard from the room, after a few more seconds the door slid open to welcome the second team. Another ten minutes had passed, and more screams had been heard from the room, and than the door opened to welcome the third team. After a few minutes the door opened again with no screams ready to welcome the team of Firie, Rayu, Shade, and Huake. The team were escorted into the room by one of Myto's assistants and the door slammed closed; it was a pitch black room and the only thing visible was the subtle light of Myto's Cigarette.

"Hello again. Here's how this test is going to work." Myto said, pausing to take a drag of his cigarette. "I will be giving you a riddle, you'll have ten minutes to solve said riddle, if you cannot solve the riddle in time, you will die." Myto said simply, as if he said this to people everyday. "There will be no hints, no clues, no help, rely on your own intelligence." He said and than took yet another drag of his cigarette before putting it out. "Because cigars cannot be entirely smoked, a poor man who collects cigar butts can make a cigar to smoke out of every five butts that he finds. Today, he has collected 25 cigar butts. How many cigars will he be able to smoke?" Of course, a smoking riddle from the smoker...

After being lined up Dawn observed that he and his group were last.[color=#000080] "Hmph, that's good gives us time to think about what the test could be."[/color] Coming up with scenarios would hard though when they only had a door to work with, however suddenly screams, horrifc screams came from behind the door. This caught Dawn off guard. [i][color=#000080]"...looks like we're bargaining more then spimly passing the test, could our lives be on the line in it?" [/color][/i]Dawn took time to observe the other regulars, some were trying to figure out what could have happened, others were petrified of what lay beyond the door. The others in the same team of Dawn seemed to be quite calm.

[i][color=#000080]"Hmph. So was this the type of scenario you were talking about....dad..."[/color][/i]

Shuski was relieved that his team wasn't picked to go first. He thought it was strange that they could hear the screams, when anything before that was so quiet you could hear a pen drop from miles away. The first to teams, obviously had ran into something due to their screams but the third team that went didn't scream. In fact it was pretty fast because the fourth team was already heading in. He noticed it was the same team as that girl from earlier. She was with three other men.

Rayu was hesitant to go into the room, especially after hearing all of the screams, but knew that she didn't have a choice if she wanted to continue p the tower. She was the last to enter the room. She couldn't see anything but a faint glow, probably from the cigarette that he was smoking. Hearing that there would be no more clues made her even more nervous but after hearing the riddle she breathed out in reliefe. [color=#4B0082]"Well the answer is obvious its.."[/color] She trailed off. Was it some type of trick? There was no way the answer was 5...Was there? There had to be some type of hidden message in the question.

Shade and Huake stood there and looked at their party of people, which they could barely see because of the darkness they were surrounded. "Let's see here...poor people...cigars...hmmm, do poor people even smoke cigars?" Shade said, sounding quite stumped in his own ramblings. "Huake, do you know anything?" Shade asked, only to have Huake raise both is hands and arms in an "I don't know" kind of fashion and Shade just went on thinking about the answer. "What do you think guys?" He asked Rayu and Firie.

Rayu hesitated, [color=#4B0082]"Well...If you just do simple division then the answer is five, but...Do you guys think it really is that simple? That the answer is five?" [/color]She asked the three. [color=#4B0082]"I mean, we still have more than enough time to think it over." [/color]They had only been in there for a little over a minute now, so they still had 9 minutes left.[color=#4B0082] "We shouldn't be too hasty about this. I'd rather not meet the same fate as those who screamed."[/color] Rayu said. Maybe she was trying to over think the riddle.[color=#4B0082] "Hey, Mr. Orreck! How many chances do we get to answer?"[/color]

Myto heard Rayu's words but instead of answering immediately he took another cigarette out of it's respective container, put it in his mouth, and with a subtle spark he lit it again and took a deep breath and than blew out some smoke. "You have ten minutes to find the correct answer, if you cannot you will die. The number of guess don't matter as long as you get the correct answer before the time runs out, however, I will not respond to any of your guesses. You'll know when you are right." Myto said, and continued smoking his cigarette.

Rayu looked down, though it really didn't matter since there was only darkness wherever she looked. At least she knew that they had unlimited amout of choises until the 10 minutes were up. She wanted to hear what Firie had to say about the riddle. He may be the one with the answer, but he hadn't said anything in a while. Perhaps he was simply thinking of the answer. [color=#4B0082]"Since we have unlimited amout of choices I say we should go with what seems obvious and then work our way up from there. What do you guys think? Better to get all of our guess out of the way and eliminate them early on. Do you three agree?"[/color]

Shade was secretly smirking through the darkness and than under his mask. "It's okay Rayu, we don't have to wait for Firie or do all of that guess work because I, in fact, have the answer!" Shade said, pausing for a certain amount of dramatic effect. "Prepare to pass because the answer is zero cigars! Poor people are often lazy and don't want to do anything, so why would they collect cigar butts!" Shade said, nothing happened and after a few seconds Shade was beginning to suspect he wasn't right. "Okay...I agree to guess..." Shade said, Myto was nodding his head left and right at Shade's stupidity and Huake nodded up and down to signify he was fine with guessing.

ooc: I wish DK was on, if not he'd just look like someone who didn't help at all...

Almost half an hour had past, and all of a sudden, Revenova and his teammates were at the front of the line. He recognized the screams from earlier as the type that one would give off before meeting his or her demise. He also noted that Firie, Rayu, Shade and Huake were welcomed to the room much sooner than the teams that were ahead of them, and immediately started to piece things together. It seemed obvious now: each team would likely be given a riddle or a puzzle with only ten minutes to solve it, lest it would be the death of them. Revenova looked over, to see how his allies were coping with the ordeal.

Rayu listened to Shades answer, and as he continued she actually thought he was right. It was just the kind of trick question she would have expected these people the try and pull. But after a few seconds nothing had changed. [color=#4B0082]"It was a good try. I thought you was on to something at first." [/color]Rayu said trying to make Shade feel better. At least he had tried. [color=#4B0082]"Ok, i'll try this one. Zero because without a lighter he cant relight them...Right?" [/color]She asked hoping that her guess was right. She assumed they were almost at the 5 minute mark. [color=#4B0082]"If not then...Oh heck...How about five..." [/color]

The room stayed dark, the room stayed quiet, not having a lighter probably wasn't the answer. But what about five? It made mathematical sense maybe that's really all this was, no tricks or traps, just some good old common math! After the answer of five was given nothing happened, it stayed dark and it stayed quiet, another spark could be seen as it was assumed that Myto just lit yet a third cigarette. "By the way." He said suddenly to all of them. "Everytime I start a new cigarette represents that you've already wasted one fourth of your time, I've lit three already..." He said, making shade worried. "WHAT! There's no way in heck we wasted seven minutes and fifty seconds already!" Shade said and Myto took another breath of his cigarette. "Your right, more like eight minutes and a few seconds now." Myto said slyly.

Rayu cursed to herself. She was sure five was the answer, and not only that they had blew through way over five minutes. She needed to calm down and not let herself get so caught up. She just needed to think about the riddle that was given to her.....Wait...Perhaps.[color=#4B0082] "The riddle was that for every 5 cigar butts he collect he makes one cigar, and if he finds 25 he makes 5 cigars. But a cigar cant be completely smoked so he would have five butts left, and thus enough for 1 more cigar!"[/color] If that wasnt the answer then she was completely out of guesses. [color=#4B0082]"Hey, the answer is 6."[/color] Rayu stood tense hoping that this time her calculations were correct.

The subtle light of Myto's cigarette got higher into the air as if he was standing up or something, he started walking slowly towards them. Had time run out without them finding the answer? Were they about to be killed by this powerful being that they knew almost nothing about? Was this the end of their time climbing the tower? Had they...failed? Suddenly The lights flickered on in the room and Myto was directly right in front of Rayu and the group. "Congratulations, you've past this leg of the test." Myto said, a door opening on the other side of the room. "You may go to the next room and enjoy a rest period." Myto said, turning his back on them and then walking back to the spot he was sitting in, which was a pillow on the ground with a table next to it that had an ashtray with about fifteen cigarette butts in it already.
