One has a white-ish body with a [b]tealish-blue [/b]mane, and the other has a blue body with a [b]dark purple[/b] mane. My speculation: Alicorns are a special off-breed of ponies, sort of revered as demigods of sorts. Something, something, something, blah, blah, blah, Celestia and Luna appear.
