Wonder if they'll use the formula for the Danny Phantom episode, Masters of All Time, where Starlight goes back in time to prevent the Sonic Rainboom from happening, or stopping Cutie Mark Magic from ever existing. Think of the ripple effect:

 

If the Sonic Rainboom never happened, Equestria would be in Eternal Night, everyone's Cutie Marks would be mixed up, or not exist, the Changlings would rule Canterlot, Tireck would cause mass destruction, and worst of all, Equestria, would cease to exist.

They wouldn't be mixed up, since you don't know if they would all move to Ponyville, and they would likely find other things that become there own Cutie Marks later on.

Unless Nightmare Moon already is.

 

Tireck would cause mass destruction-

Tirek's point of origin is rather vague, and even if he did somehow get out, he lacks Discord's ability to round up everyone very quickly and/or transport Tirek all over.

 

and worst of all, Equestria, would cease to-

Or just stay night time at all times, to which, everyone would just come up with other methods to get sunlight/etc.

Nightmare Moon isn't exactly that much of a threat, mind you. She was merely jelous of the fact that everyone was always asleep when it was her turn to do things/she was always lonely, and wanted to change that. So I highly doubt she would REALLY go out of her way to kill/blow up/"Magic" other characters to death, when she really just wants to prove she is stronger then her sister, which she could.

I've actually thought about this a lot- considering the thing that interested me the most at first about MLP was the timeline.

 

I doubt that Starlight Glimmer will be able to remove Cutie Mark Magic, because there isn't a point in time were should could go back and prevent it from happening with any realistic outcome. The ONLY times she could prevent Cutie Mark Magic from occurring is:

When the Plunder Seeds took root

When the Mane Six opened the box

 

Either of these scenarios spell immediate, if not distant, doom for all of Equestria. Starlight Glimmer is a lot of things, but I don't think her end goal is to destroy Equestria- it's instead to show Twilight what "true friendship" really is.

 

Instead I think she'll either try to prevent Twilight from ever becoming a Princess in the first place, which would require the Sonic Rainboom from never happening, or replace her as Princess, to do this all Starlight would have to do is, with her knowledge of the future, is take her role as the mane five's "best friend".

 

As a villain no matter what she does, she's going to fail.

 

That means that these scenarios are either going or can happen:

Without the Elements of Harmony, Nightmare Moon will have banished Celestia and put Equestria into eternal night; if Starlight cannot use the Element of Magic with the others, Nightmare Moon will continue to reign supreme.

Discord will be freed, in my opinion much earlier than he originally did, and without the Elements of Harmony to seal him away again he will wreak havoc on the world; also without Fluttershy Discord will never be reformed.

Queen Chrysalis will be a non-issue as the power she derives from Shining Armor will most likely not be enough to topple either Nightmare Moon or Discord; there is also the fact that I doubt either Shining Armor or Princess Cadence would have their wedding if Nightmare Moon and/or Discord is on the loose.

King Sombra will return and, without Shining Armor, Princess Cadence, Twilight Sparkle, and Spike to retrieve the Crystal Heart he will reign over the Crystal Empire unopposed; despite this I also doubt he is strong enough to take out either Nightmare Moon and/or Discord.

Tirek will return, but for how long depends on how long Nightmare Moon and/or Discord believes him not to be a threat; without Discord's aid Tirek will take a much longer time gaining his strength, so he could still be around, but not as powerful or threatening.

 

The enemies ultimately boil down to the two most powerful- Nightmare Moon and Discord.

 

The true question is: Can Starlight Glimmer replace Twilight Sparkle in the role of "The Element of Magic"?

 

If so, then she will take Twilight's spot as the Princess of Friendship; if not, then Equestria is doomed!

Since we've pitched the idea of nightmares, heres a question-

 

Whos more of a threat to Equestria?

Nightmare Pinkie Pie or Nightmare Twlight?

I mean, lets face it; These two are the only ones that, if turned evil, would be a funking unstoppable.

 

I actually don't think the Nightmare Force would be able to entangle Pinkie Pie into becoming Nightmare Pie. Twilight would be more likely.

 

And by cease to exist, I mean all of Equestria would be destoryed. There would be nothing left of it. Starlight might eventually see the error of her ways by ultimately obliterationg what she wanted to rule over. And maybe in the end, Celestia would strip Starlight of her magic and turn her into an Earth Pony.

 

I think she'll see how horribly her version of "harmony" really is, but be stubborn and refuse to admit it, and force Twilight to save the day.

I honestly don't want Starlight Glimmer to reform- at all.

Keep her a villain!

I don't think it's not so much a "funk You" to Hasbro as more along the lines of, "We just really want to make something good and have learned from our past."

Considering the fact that Hasbro likes to pretend the fanbase doesn't exist, it's understandable why they went after that game in the first place.

It just means that they had to work on it in secret, which is what they ultimatly ended up doing. Faust giving them new art assests was just an amazingly ironic bonus.

Ummm, no, Hasbro doesn't "pretend the fanbase doesn't exist". Hasbro really only cares if their interests are jeopardized by a fan work, like Fighting Is Magic. It's the same reason why in the Season Four Finale we never had Twilight punching Tirek- Hasbro wouldn't allow it.

 

So when some fans go out and try to make a game based around punching people, Hasbro's legal team is going to suit up.

 

Only if the project seems like they are going to, inadvertently or purposefully, besmirch the namesake will Hasbro step in and say "no".

Save for Button Mash, which I'm STILL wondering why it was C&D'ed- the only thing I've ever came up with was that I don't know if it was ever noted as a parody or based off of, etc.

 

Besides Arm, if Hasbro really wanted to get anal about fan-made content like Konazi then they'd be deleting channels like Flufflepuff, Lullaby for a Princess, and all of the other videos/songs based around the franchise.

In hindsight, Button's Adventure was harmless.

Sonic Rainboom was really pushing it, but it was obveious it was just a gag reel.

 

It's the same reason why in the Season Four Finale we never had Twilight punching Tirek- Hasbro wouldn't allow it.

The two of them basically stick to Magic because that's how a lot of things in Equestria are decided, if a confrontation is ever needed. It's never physical contact, it's always more about who's magic is stronger. It's like DBZ, but everyone ignores the 'Forgotten Superweapon' trope.

I don't remember who it was, but I remember watching someone stating in an interview that Hasbro wouldn't let them throw punches, even though they wanted it in the fight.
