First post of 2015!

so apparently Hasbro is having a webcast in Feb, and pony info has come out in the past, so fingers crossed for a release date for season 5.

You know I never thought of that but yeah when are we going to be getting a release date for Season 5?

Also since I don't want to just nod my head and agree here's something I found that's actually very interesting:

I honestly have no words on how much hype I have to finally learn the origins of King Sombra! I mean I can prattle on how it ties in with how my own OC currently lives in the Crystal Empire or how I feel I have a personal connection with Princess Cadence, as I have a member of my family with the same name, or even that he is my favorite villain when it comes to how the fandom has portrayed him, but . . . yeah . . . HYPE!!!

I just hope they give and do a good job in explaining how he became King Sombra.

It needs to be just as good, hopefully even better, than what fans have already made.

If not then we either deal or deny it and accept personal head canon.

Either way . . .

Huh, I never really considered Luna as actually being on the moon. With how there was an image of her, Man in the Moon style, I figured she was sealed in the moon or something, unable to do anything.

Now Enel's side story from One Piece of his time on the moon comes to mind.

Well that's the prevailing theory, though some fans have placed her actually on the moon. I honestly think it's more she was sealed within the moon because otherwise she probably could've just flown back.

We actually already have some insight on Nightmare's origins, you know....

The moon is basically infested with those 'nightmares', and they can seemingly posess ponies/etc.
Plus, they always came off as being unrelated to Luna, regardless.

Yeah I kinda think that was a non-canon story considering we don't see nor hear anything about them in the Season Four opening when Luna changes into Nightmare Moon- nor does Luna ever acknowledge them again. And, to be honest, I really don't like the idea of "nightmares" possessing ponies/etc. in order to become Nightmare-whatever. It takes a LOT away from the fact that Luna chose to become Nightmare Moon out of jealousy and just makes it "oh, she was possessed!" Looses a lot of steam . . .

I'm referring to the IDW canon, which, btw, the Sombra story also takes part in. Nightmare Rarity was also a thing because of said Nightmares. You know that, right? And they clearly had possessed Rarity.

Obviously the shows canon conflicts with this since, apparently, we know for a fact Luna can just 'go' into Nightmare Moon whenever, as evidenced in the Nightmare Night episode.

So it's all up in the air for if/when we get to Luna's actual back story.

Yeah I'm aware

To be fair I think that was just an illusion, not her actually reverting to the Nightmare Moon appearance

I've said it before and I'll say it again. It's about image. This show, its followers, haters, and everyone who has to deal with both whining all the time just is a giant ego thing. It feels good to go against the grain, and that's why both sides hate or love this show, because it's not the cool thing to do. This then attracts people who think side X or Y is cool to join.

What is left when you remove fanbases and hatedoms is a mediocre kid's show that hits its audience and has some crap put in to make it look superficially more adult. Referencing things doesn't make you complex. Complexity comes from subject matter which this show just uses tired tropes and character archetypes to show.

If you dislike the controversy the show has generated, then why do you make posts like this? Hmmm?
