Jake the Sage
I saw that earlier and I have realized something possibly odd about that . . . did we ever hear of "hoofball" before this animatic? I mean I've heard of hoofball because of fan writing but I don't ever remember it being officially said once in the actual series.
Sleepy
I don't think they ever have. This is the first time unless any Equestria games-related talk could have mentioned them.... Otherwise there's no room for it to even pop up anywhere else o.o" I didn't notice Spike had said "Hoofball" rather than football. Lol.

Well like I said I've heard of hoofball because of fan stories but I still can't recall a single event in the show where it's mentioned. I don't even think the Equestrian Games had mentioned it since, well, they hardly focused on the actual games. So does this mean Hasbro is beginning to pull in ideas from the fanbase? Sleepy
They probably are. We've also had that other info about Hasbro hiring fans that made 3D printed figures (and I can't believe when I was at Comic Con they just told me I could look for them online rather than them having some in store while they were at it... but w/e). Also, the comics are supposed to be non-canonical stories inspired by fans or something... or so I heard somewhere, I don't exactly know who makes the MLP: FIM comics. Oh, and there's that time that Button Smasher's cartoons got their Cease & Desist letter partially taken back (too bad for the crew of Fighting is Magic in the other hand). So it's safe to say Hasbro is starting to be less of an ass with the fanbase. EDIT: And I agree with you, I don't think Hoofball has been a thing at any point in the first 4 seasons. Though it could just be a coincidence that they thought of the same name without realizing. I know it's one of those franchises where they try to go out of their way and make sure they are not copying something the fan-base has already done, which must be why Big Mac was paired with Cheerilee rather than Fluttershy or Twilight at the end, or that Discord got attached to Fluttershy rather than finding his most similarly chaotic friend in Pinkie like the fans suggested through their early fanart. Could have just been a slip. MLP just has so many capable fans doing all those awesome things that the people officially in charge of the show must have it way too hard. Having to dodge all those fan creations while receiving weird demands from Hasbro once in a while (create Shining Armor, create another Princess, make Twilight a princess, etc), and still having it all be good. Thinking about it, it's a truly formidable feat..... and I just got side tracked here....

Jake the Sage
They probably are. We've also had that other info about Hasbro hiring fans that made 3D printed figures (and I can't believe when I was at Comic Con they just told me I could look for them online rather than them having some in store while they were at it... but w/e). Yeah I heard about that too since the fans are making good quality prints. Hasbro just asks a bit of the revenue since they are using Hasbro's licenced material. That I perfectly understand! In fact this is exactly what all or at least most big companies with marketable material needs to do. You have the fans who can not only come up with countless sellable ideas, but would gladly do it. Also, the comics are supposed to be non-canonical stories inspired by fans or something... or so I heard somewhere, I don't exactly know who makes the MLP: FIM comics. Hasbro actually has a comic company do the comics for them. So as far as the comics are concerned even people on staff for the show have stated that it is canon as long as it doesn't counter what has been stated in the show (which means sorry all of you Nightrarity fans out there but that sh*t is non-canon!) But as for how the comics tie into the fandom . . . well . . . there is a lot of references that are made in the comics that only "older" readers like the stereotypical brony would understand. One Piece, Sailor Moon, Star Trek, etc. Oh, and there's that time that Button Smasher's cartoons got their Cease & Desist letter partially taken back (too bad for the crew of Fighting is Magic in the other hand). Button Smashers? Are you referring to "Button Mash Adventures" because, if so, I haven't heard anything about JanAnimations being allowed to work on that again. *curbs potential hype* As for "Fighting is Magic" I can understand why Hasbro C&D-ed them. They kind of have an image to keep and fighting ponies, no matter how colorful, might give parents the wrong idea. Then again Rule #34 has no exceptions so . . . yeah . . . why Hasbro no go after that too? So it's safe to say Hasbro is starting to be less of an ass with the fanbase. Hasbro, as an entire company, has never really been an ass to the fans. It's their legal department and their hair-trigger C&Ds that are the problem. When a single thing might look like it is breaking their licensing then they go nuts over it. The VP of Hasbro has even stated for a C&D he'd personally look into it. Now whether he actually did or not is up for debate. Has anyone know that France will soon release Equestria Academy spin-off series base off Equestria Girls? Rumor or do you have proof? I know it's one of those franchises where they try to go out of their way and make sure they are not copying something the fan-base has already done, which must be why Big Mac was paired with Cheerilee rather than Fluttershy or Twilight at the end, or that Discord got attached to Fluttershy rather than finding his most similarly chaotic friend in Pinkie like the fans suggested through their early fanart. Thinking about it, it's a truly formidable feat..... and I just got side tracked here.... Actually the Big Mac shipping has always been along the lines of, "No Big Mac should date [insert pony name here]!" Everyone has a personal favorite ship so Hasbro hasn't shipped him officially with anyone. See? Even you show you lean towards Big Mac and Cherrlie being together, so that is your ship. Fluttershy and Discord being friends makes sense in the context of the story. I don't think Hasbro was ever going to have him be best friends with Pinkie Pie because, honestly, that's just too much uncontrolled chaos. Discord needed a friend who was more in control and let's face it Fluttershy is the best one to fit the bill and give him a chance. Hasbro has only demanded, to my knowledge, these things from the shows' writers/staff: Create a royal couple to get married so we can tie it in with England's real royal wedding Designs for characters as humans so we can make a movie and sell toys based off the designs Breezies Rainbow Power designs Beyond that anything else I believe is the writers just trying to make a good story. I don't think Hasbro's toy department demands that much out of them. They basically take whatever they design for the show and make it into a toy. I mean if it was true that Prince Shining Armor and Princess Cadence were designed to be toys first then would we not have seen the toys on selves before the episode premiered? (Note: Advertisements do not count) It is hard to come up with original ideas when the fan base is, probably, ten times the man power and each with their own original/spin-off idea. You simply cannot compete with that sheer force. I can't remember who said it, Arm might know, but the gist of it was, "We know we can't compete with our fans. They outnumber us too much. So instead we want to work alongside our fans." Just like Roosterteeth. They may be a small "company" but they've always hired "within the community" because, honestly, it's the smartest idea you can do.

Okay considering google translate isn't being the most massive of trolls right now you're right. It even stated that Hasbro has put a lot of time into the new license so . . . I'mma need TWO images to get my point across . . . Not to state the obvious but, most bronies already don't like the first Equestria Girls and I know for a fact almost all are going to despise Rainbow Rocks. Why you do this to us Hasbro!? Oh right . . . money . . .
Cobax
I am alright with Equestria girl as it would expand the magic of other universe which the mirror was used again in the Reflection series. Although a friend of mine said the 1st felt it was rush and i thought it was just a taste of its sequel. Still the same element of the MLP show besides them being ponies. There have been fanfics or fanart of Characters into humans/anthro. so the movie should be its own version. But i think Lauren did not like the dolls of the movie. People have their own opinion like some Transformers fans did not like the 1986 movie and some do.

Sleepy
I think it can be decent, though I'm a little concerned. For one, I hope it doesn't end up looking like a Barbie cartoon, or that if it's by the same writers of the regular show of MLP, that this doesn't add too much work for them to a point where it affects both sides. Other than that, to be honest, I didn't dislike Equestria Girls even if I accept that unlike MLP FIM, this is pretty much dependent on those who are already fans for it to be fully enjoyed. I'd watch that series soooo, yeah.

Jake the Sage
Okay so I happened to go to Toys-R-Us with my girlfriend during Labor Day yesterday and, since we're both fans of the show, we decided to go look and see what was new for the toys. More specifically the plushies . . . We happened to find two of the Dazzlers' figures, but interestingly enough it had their pony forms. So the Dazzlers are not any weird creature we've never seen before, but ponies using some unknown type of magic.

Not that it's a bad thing.No.If you want to be specific, it was someone's letter saying something like: "Hub is garbage, cuz' it's all just 20 minute commercials", and it was mostly directed at Gen 4 MLP for this comment, or at least, if I remember correctly.'Course, that's what happens when we reboot a series that "died" almost 10 years ago. I feel fortunate then, cause it only plays at one time that day (1:00 PM) at my local theater. It was the same situation with Battle of the Gods, but I couldn't make it to that.
