Phage can enter the battlefield from the Command Zone safely if Torpor Orb is on the battlefield (or if you respond to Phage's trigger with Sundial of the Infinite). Haakon, Stromgald Scourge, however, can't even be cast from the Command Zone, making him the worst general.

EDH is personally my favorite format since I can use everything I have and still be reasonably competitive (I don't want to spend money for Legacy).

My one friend hate the format because of how long the games go. Yea, any multiplayer format is going to take awhile. However nuking the field 3 times in 1 game doesn't help.

I love EDH, with my main deck being all about the graveyard giving me access to most of my deck with just a bit of mill and some luck.

Fun combo with Karador:

Hev Karador and Chorus of the Conclave out, and Skullbriar in the Graveyard.

Cast Skullbriar and pay any amount of extra mana into it. Skullbriar enters with that many additional +1/+1 counters AND keeps them when he dies. After a few castings, he could become very powerful.
