Naimo
Shayla smiled as her challenge was accepted. She too stepped back from Aiya, and then pushed the button on the back of her gauntlet. There was a slight fizzing sound as the button glowed a vibrant purple, and a holographic playing field sprung into action. With her other hand, her purse slipped from her wrist onto her belt's hook, lodging itself comfortably behind the deck holder; now that her hand was free, she pushed the holder open and extracted her deck. "I don't mind who goes first," she declared as she performed a delicate riffle shuffle on her cards. She had mastered the technique well enough to know how to handle them without defacing them too badly, and as she slotted her deck into the holographic holder, that particular area darkened, thus disallowing anybody to remotely glimpse where each card was. As Shayla waited for Aiya's answer, she drew the top five cards from her deck; she briefly glanced downwards, and then spreaded them evenly like a folding fan, before pressing them against her chest. Had she been in sight of some males, or been in the usual clubs, she would have hidden half her face with her hand - after all, it did give a sense of allurement and mystery, and classiness to a degree. TotalObelisk
After watching Shayla's elaborate display Aiya felt her good mood sinking rapidly as she stated down at her own battered duel disk, of which the auto-shuffle was broken. She shook her head and tried not to let it get to her, drawing a hand of cards from her deck. "Well okay," she said "I guess I'll start." With that she drew another card, increasing her hand size to 6 as she pondered her first move. She looked over her hand with a frown on her face. This hand sucks, she thought I guess I'll just have to play it safe for now. "I'll place one monster in defense mode and end," she said, placing a monster card sideways on her duel disk's field. A larger hologram of the card appeared in front of her. LP: 4000 Hand: 5 Field: x1 f/d DEF monster Grave: RFG: Deck:
Naimo
Shayla said nothing as she drew, and nor did she display any emotions as she calmly and steadily declared, "I Summon Breaker the Magical Warrior." The Spellcaster appeared on the field, a Spell Counter gleaming proudly on its shield. Aside from her deck, Shayla also kept small Spell Counters that had been specially made from amethyst and gold in her deck holder, and now, she extracted one to place on Breaker. TIme to see what monsters you're using. "Breaker, attack that face down monster!" The Spellcaster charged and leapt into the air, his blade glistening under the sunlight as he brought it in a downwards stab onto the face down... TotalObelisk
Aiya flinched as Breaker moved into the attack, easily slicing through Aiya's monster, revealing it to be a small fairy dressed in white and blue which quickly vanished. There goes my Frost Union. I guess I'm lucky she didn't summon any other monsters, Aiya thought sullenly as she took the card off her Duel Disk and sent it to her graveyard. She looked back up at Shayla, her expression back to her usual nervous frown, wondering, if she was done with her turn yet. Naimo
Interesting ... she uses Spellcasters too, but I doubt she's the Spell Counter type. Shayla remained coolly still throughout, and she steadily inserted a Spell/Trap into one of the fields as her Breaker, having finished slicing Frost Union into pieces, gently landed on his field again. "I set a card, and I end my turn." Well, well, this is going to turn interesting. A slight smile was curling on her lips, and she patiently waited for Aiya's next move. She couldn't glimpse Frost Union's effect in time, but judging by how foreign the card was to her, it seemed that she was facing a whole new archetype. Well, it did make a nice change from duelling Blackwings all the time, at least. TotalObelisk
Aiya breathed a sigh of relief when Shayla ended her turn and drew a new card from her own deck, hoping it would be better than her last draw at the very least. She frowned when she saw what she'd drawn however. Oh well, never mind, she thought, taking another card from her hand. "I summon Spell Girl Elda in attack mode!" Aiya declared, placing her card on the field. A spellcaster wearing a white and orange costume emerged in front of Aiya, her arms folded and a scowl on her face. She's not strong enough to take out Breaker, Aiya thought Good thing she has her effect then. "I activate Elda's effect!" Aiya declared "By discarding my Magical Blast Spell Card, I can reduce the ATK of one of your monsters by 500 until the End Phase. And since there's now a Spell Card in my grave, Elda gains 100 ATK." Elda raised her hand, an orange glow surrounding both her and Breaker, reducing Breaker's ATK down to 1400 while her own rose to 1500. "Next I play the Equip Spell Enchanted Flute, increasing Elda's ATK by another 300," An strange, ornate flute instrument appeared in Elda's hands and she lifted it up to her lips, placing a calm melody on it. A purple glow surrounded her as her ATK rose from 1500 to 1800. Aiya took a deep breath as she prepared herself for an assault. "Okay, Elda attack Breaker the Magical Warrior," She commanded. Elda stopped playing her flute and suddenly rushed forwards, orange magic surrounding her fist as she made to punch through Breaker. Naimo
Shayla rose her card-fan to defend herself as Elda destroyed her monster. So, she uses Spell Girls ... this really is a brand new archetype. However, judging by her monsters' effects, it seems that they need to discard spells for them to work ... well, well, this is going to become very interesting indeed. She quickly scanned her hand before lowering it, careful to keep the cards pressed to her body. It seemed that she was going to have to use a more radical method than planned. Then again, she loved playing impromptu, which was one of the reasons why her deck had been carefully crafted to have no real fixed stragedy, much like the Blackwings if their plan was skewered. TotalObelisk
Aiya held her breath as Elda's fist broke through Breaker's shield, succesfully destroying him and taking a small chunk out of Shayla's life points. She finally let out a sigh of relief and lowered her arm. "Well that's it, I end my turn," she said simply. Well at least her trap card isn't designed to stop my attack, she thought And now I've got Elda powered up to a decent amount so hopefully she'll last till my next turn. LP: 4000 Hand: 3 Field: Spell Girl - Elda (ATK: 1800) Enchanted Flute (EQ: Spell Girl - Elda) Grave: 1 RFG: Deck:
Naimo
Shayla drew, and paused slightly; judging by her hand, she had two options ... and taking into consideration as well what her face down was ... Play it safe, Sharp. "I set a monster..." She placed her next monster on the field, in the same slot that Breaker had formerly occupied. Seconds later, her field flashed as the card appeared. "...and I end my turn." Come on Aiya, let's see what else you've got in store... The trap had been set, now it just took the unwitting victim to move in... TotalObelisk
Aiya drew a new card to start her turn, her spirits rising slightly as she saw Sayla had now resorted to defending. "My turn," she began "I summon the Tuner Monster Electric Union!" A small smark of electricity lit up on Aiya's field and a small fairy-like creature emerged from it alongside Elda. "Now I tune my level 2 Electric Union to my Level 4 Spell Girl Elda!" Aiya declared, her two monsters forming together "And Synchro Summon Spell Knight - Thunda!" A girl with long blond hair and wielding two huge swords apparently made from lightning appeared on Aiya's field. Naimo
Perfect. "My face down was Apprentice Magician! Now that you have destroyed her in battle, I can activate her effect and Special Summon another Level 2 or lower from my Deck and onto the field in face-down Defense Position!" Hehe, now let's see how you cope with this. Now, all she needed was a bit of top-decking, and her plan would start to fall into place ... As she kept her focus on the duel, she was also noting how the Spell Girls functioned; the Spell Knights certainly seemed less troublesome. Thank goodness I don't rely on continuous spells and traps ... it seems that as long as I can somehow keep her hand drained of Spells, she can't function without them.
