Yu-Gi-Oh! Anarchy IC

This is your basic Yu-Gi-Oh! Rp. Except with no defined plot. Well, kind of. You see, this is Zero City, a city that has been in a state of anarchy for over a century. And it isn't going to change. Countless people have tried to civilize this society, but it hasn't worked. The city is actually a flourishing community, and the people who live here believe give a sole person or group of people power would put all the pressure of maintaining this beautiful city onto the shoulders of someone who can't handle it. With no government, the people of Zero City spend no time waiting to get what they need. Instead, they do it themselves.

So this is a life RP, I suppose. You are a duelist who lives in Zero City, or a traveler who is new to the civilization.

....That's pretty much it.

Rain pelted the hero who hid behind his white mask. The duel between him and this local crime-lord was nearing its end. The scent of the moist cheap gravel was oddly strong. "Go now! Shi En, attack directly!" The voice from behind the mask was strong and dark, striking fear into the hearts of his enemys, the scum of this otherwise elegant city. The crime-lord's life points began it's drop too zero as he fell back and cried out in fe-

"Hatsuuu~! Hatsu! Wake up!" Came a soft girly voice. Hatus's eyes slowly opened too the sharp lights of the classroom, noticing one of his classmates waking him up before the teacher or the bullies noticed. He gave her a soft smile and scratched the back of his head. The girl blushed and looked away quickly before anyone else noticed her talking to the new kid. Hatsu began to feel heavy as he was exausted from running through the city all night. The light-headed feeling was gone as the math smacked him in the face when his eyes hit the teacher's white-board.

"I'm back, Zero City," Shayla muttered as she stepped through the majestic gates. Clop, clop, clop - her heels echoed as she took every step further in, her hands delicately brushing the side of her thighs, her eyes darting left and right. She had just returned from a begrudingly compulsory visit to her horrid aunt and uncle, and having relations like them was anything but welcoming; her entirely family seemed to have no concept of privacy at all, and integrity was close to becoming the next to fall.

Hence, as Shayla stepped through the familiar city at a somewhat dead hour, she was glad to be away from her crazy relatives. Admittedly, she was going to miss the lavish parties, they were always more overblown and fancy than anything the rich folk over here had to offer - which was ironic for a city which had anarchy as its best friend and partner. Sure, there were plenty of fish in the sea, but Zero City wasn't exactly the biggest sea she had ever swam through; it was, however, the most alluring, and the easiest to navigate through. It did also have a tendency to surprise. She was certain she knew all the males in the city, and yet every day, new faces would wash away the old ones, and unless she had some way of contacting them, they seemed to disappear - which was fine by her standards. She was constantly on the look out for another half anyway, and she still had age by her side.

Right now, Shayla's main concern was to return to her mansion - and once she was certain that none of the servants had tried to take advantage of her absence and steal odd items, she would adventure out, as fresh as the morning sun, and return to her normal routine.

Aiya wandered down the busy highstreet, dodging past pedestrians going the other way while simultaneously trying to comminucate with her dad on a bright red cell phone.

"Yes, dad, I know the way home," she said with a slight hint of annoyance "We've been here a month already, I know my way around."

A short pause followed and Aiya's cheeks turned slightly red.

"S-shut up," she said, albiet a tad quiter than normal lest she be overheard "That was one time. Look I'll be fine, I'll see you later."

She hung up and heaved a sigh, pocketing the phone and continuing forward, shifting the weight of the backpack she had slung over one shoulder. She paused as she came upon a crossing, waiting for the cars veering left and right to cease so that she could cross.

4 Weeks and I already don't like it here, she thought, lost in her own head Then again, I didn't like the last place either.

Lost in her own thoughts Aiya was taken by surprise when she felt something hit her hard and stumbled over, managing to catch herself on a fence by the roadside.

"Ow, what...?" She looked about and saw a man in a black jacket running away from her clutching something tight to his chest "What is he running f..." Aiya suddenly realized her backpack was missing "Hey! My decks in there!"

Without really thinking she ran after the thief, not paying too much attention to where she was going and constantly bumping into people and tripping although somehow managed to keep the man in view.

"Why does this always keep happening to me?" Aiya moaned.

"Now, Heavenly Wolf, Blue Sirius! Attack him directly. Separate him from his remaining Life Points!" Kariya's monster launched itself at a cloaked gang member, reducing his Life Points from 1300 to 0. Kariya looked unimpressed. "You'd think with my reputation people like you wouldn't even bother challenging me. Now, I'll be taking your rarest card - Your precious Crimson Blader." He snatched the defeated duelist's extra deck out of his Duel Disk, quickly scanning through it before seizing his prize. He tossed the other cards back towards the fallen duelist, and they scattered in the breeze as they fell. Immediately, a hoard of backstreet duelists frenzied to grab as many of the cards as they could, leaving the one they belonged to verging on the brink of unconsciousness by the side of the alley. Kariya didn't care, and he walked away slowly, returning to the bar from which the incident had occurred and proceeded to sip the beer he had ordered only minutes beforehand. "This is getting too easy, I need a challenge" He thought to himself.

He quickly finished his drink, left the change on the counter, and left the building. He slowly strided through the alley where he had just annihilated his opponent, and continued through until the sunlight caused him to squint and cover his eyes. His vision soon adjusted and he proceeded down the busy street to the parking bay where he had left his Duel Runner. He detached the duel runner from its lock, and mounted it. Revving the engine he resumed his thoughts "Maybe... just maybe there is a challenge for me left in this city." And with that he sped out of the parking bay and down the busy street.

Kutafis sighed, speeding down the road on his D-Wheel. "Three hours of searching and I've turned up with nothing. I guess the city's name is just a coincidence..." Kutafis thought. "And I won't be able to leave until the next eclipse... I suppose I'll just have to find something to pass the time until then." As Kutafis thought, someone sped past him. Kutafis had another thought upon sight of the other rider. "This city is supposed to be full of duelists... Why not? Perhaps I'll be able to get some information from the duelists here." Kutafis said to himself. He pushed his momentum up to get level with the other rider. Over the wind, he shouted. "Hey, you! Yeah, you! You and I need to talk!" Kutafis called out to the other rider, attempting to get his attention.

Now refreshed, Shayla stepped out of her mansion an hour or so later. To her, it was still a dead hour as she walked alone through the streets - her first stop being a prestigious club that she was hardly a stranger to. Given how one in ten members of the said club were female, it was hardly surprising that Shayla would be attracted to the place; it was where duelling met gambling, and she did fancy playing a bet or two. Well, it was one way of getting money in between the four-figure quarterly income she recieved from her ever-affluent parents.

Today, Shayla decided to take a slight detour - she wanted to experience Zero City again, clean her lungs from the musty, smoky air at her aunt's, and see familiar sights again, all of which she did without much sentimentality. As she continued her detour, she noticed a girl rushing past; curious, Shayla took several steps forward, and noticed that she was chasing after a boy carrying a backpack. Had her temperment been different, Shayla would have helped - but in this instance, she just folded her arms and watched the outcome of the chase.

"I'm only back for several hours, and already this happens," she muttered to herself. "Well, this looks like great fun."

Kariya briefly acknowledged the person on the D-Wheel approaching him. He ignored the pestilent call and turned down a side alley, causing several cars to swerve, almost causing a serious accident. He figured that if it was important enough, this stranger would soon enough follow him through the desolate street. He soon came to a clearing, one he knew very well. There was a lone garage to the right side of the clearing, and he quickly parked his Duel Runner inside it. Hurriedly closing the door, he climbed up onto the scaffolding of the nearest building. From there he could see anyone coming down the street, from all side, and he was virtually invisible to them. "Let's see if I can have some fun with this one" He thought to himself.

"You're too slow." Kutafis said form behind Kariya. Kutafis then laughed. "Wondering how I did that? Electro-magnetic tracking system." He held up a small, cylindrical device. "A simple thing that tells me exactly where my target is. It doesn't work from all ranges but..." Kutafis shrugged. "...It gets the job done. Of course, I noticed... You have a duel disk. So, since we both seem to have some free time on our hands, how about we duel?" Kutafis asked slyly. He revealed his Duel Disk. "Of course, you can always decline." He continued. Kutafis smiled. "But if you accept, then I assure you, I won't waste your time."

"You must be pretty desperate if of all people around here you want to choose me as your opponent. It's common knowledge I'm the best when it comes to back-street dueling." Kariya spoke with confidence as he jumped down from the ledge, landing swiftly on the ground below, a few feet from Kutafis. "Although, I would rather know my opponent's name. If you didn't already know, mine's Karira, I trust you'll remember it when you're buried in the dust like everyone else." Kariya walked over to the garage he had parked his runner in and disappeared momentarily. He soon returned with his duel disk attached, and his deck ready. "But then again, it might be nice to duel someone who's bite is as strong as their bark for once."

Kutafis smiled again.. "Kutafis. You're a rather charming person, aren't you?" Kutafis said with a hint of sarcasm. "Well then... allow me." Kutafis' deck shuffled, and he drew his hand. "I suppose I'll start, eh?" Kutafis shrugged again. "My turn. Draw!" Kutafis declared, drawing. He took a look at his hand for a minute. "I activate the continuous spell Crystalline Sphere of the Heavens from my hand." Kutafis said, as a large, glass orb appeared next to him. "Each turn, I can Special Summon a level 2 or lower Crystalline from my hand or deck. I activate this effect now, to summon Crystalline Condor from my Deck." He continued, as a large, crystal-coated bird was reflected in the orb. The reflection burst from the orb, shining brilliantly in the sun. "Crystalline Condor cannot be destroyed through Battle or card effects. Next, I Normal Summon the next piece, Crystalline Beast." Another crystal-coated monster appeared, a wolf this time. "Through the effect of Crystalline Beast, when he is successfully Normal Summoned, I can Special Summon a Crystalline monster from my Deck. I summon Crystalline Swordfish." A third monster appeared. This one stretched a few feet, though it was very small. "Crystalline Swordfish's effect activates. When this card is summoned through the effect of a Crystalline monster, I inflict 800 damage to my opponent." Kutafis said. The fish fired off a jet stream of water at Kariya. (Kariya LP: 8000 --> 7200) "I set a card. Turn End."

This was an unusual event for the White mask. The criminal in this little cat and mouse chase had only neen a petty thief and not one of those gang-leaders that white mask was famous for assassinating. With the swift persuit on foot and on top of roof-top to roof-top, the criminal didn't seem to notice as the white mask narrowed in on his prey. With a quick glance to the street, the white mask noticed a local icon that was pretty famous around these parts of the city. But, with his poor memory for names, he could not come up with a name for this woman's face. He chuckled, noticing how the lack in work-load had his mind drifting off into non-important matters. With a shrug, the masked hero pounced upon the thief from what seemed like no-where. With a swift knee to the back and the force of the fall, the criminal was knocked out. As the rest of The white mask's cloak cought up with him, he stood with the bag in-hand. Determined to return it too the girl and he forgot about the important person who was not too far away.

After barely a few minutes of running Aiya was already growing tired, she was far from athletic and the man she was chasing didn’t seem to be wearing out, added to that even though there were plenty of people on the street it didn’t look like any of them wanted to help her. Aiya was just about to admit defeat when something pounced on the thief from out of nowhere, shrouding him behind a black cloak. Aiya skidded to a halt, almost stumbling over in an effort not to hit the man that had appeared from nowhere.

Upon closer inspection Aiya saw that the man’s face was covered by a strange white mask that, albeit looked rather pretty, set her nerves on edge as she was unable to see the man behind it. It took her a moment to realize that he had retrieved the backpack the thief had stolen from her and, to her relief, didn’t seem to be running off with it. Hesitantly Aiya reached out and took the bag back, drawing away from the masked man quickly and rummaging through it. She eventually found what the was looking for and, with a relieved smile, hugged her deck box to her chest like some kind of priceless heirloom. Her smile faded quickly as she looked up at the white mask man, nervousness overcoming her once again.

“Erm…T-thankyou,” she said quietly, not entirely sure what was going on.

"W-What do I say? Does the White mask talk? Yeah, but only when he's casting judgement upon evil or commanding his monsters. Should he speak up to this person? Would words at this moment break his mysterious dark pressence and make him appear too soft? Or would words actually be perfect in this scenario as The White mask is a friendly hero and the closer to the people of the city he gets, the more comfortable they feel with him around? Damn it Hatsu! Think of something, and quick!" Hatsu thought deeply as he body didn't move from his still-stand position. He quickly turned, his cloak flowing behind him in it's cool slow-mo way. In a snap, it came to him. "You are very welcome. But try too keep a better grip on your bag from now on..." His voice distorted slightly from behind the mask, it was still smooth and normal, but it'd be very difficult too distinquish this voice from any other when considering Hatsu's. With a quick few steps, the white mask darted down the street and into a dark alley. From there he quickly dissappeared by kicking off the walls and laying on the roof-top of the building to his right.

Kariya drew his first card. "Hmph, my turn." He scanned his hand, and began devising his plan to recklessly destroy this strange duelist. "Well, this place was better in the dark, so that's where I'm going to be sending your monsters!Unfortunately, for you, however, I'm no idiot. I know your monsters can't be destroyed in battle, so I guess I'll have to play around this another way." He took a card from his hand and slammed it into a monster zone. "I summon the all powerful King Tiger Wanghu, in attack mode!" The beast took form in front of him, a mighty tiger stood, baring its claws. "Now..." He placed one card from his hand into his Spell/Trap card zone and smirked. "I'll eliminate the source, I play Mystical Space Typhoon, and use its whirlwind magic to decimate your Crystalline Sphere! And I know that it'll grab you a new monster, but no Level 2 or lower Crystalline monster can pass Wanghu's 1300 ATK test!" He placed 2 cards in his Spell/Trap zone. "Well, it doesn't matter what you're going to summon, I'm playing these 2 face-down afterwards either way, thus ending my turn." Kariya was trying not to look unnerved, he knew that against Crystallines he was fighting a losing battle, his deck focused on quickly beating monsters down, but he couldn't beat down what couldn't be destroyed in battle.

"Hmph. The monster I summon through my Sphere's effect will be Crystalline Crow" Kutafis said, the second crystal-covered bird forming from the shattered remains of the sphere. "And, in response to the effect of your King Tiger, I equip my new Crystalline with Safe Zone, keeping it safe from your monster." Kutafis declared, as many different sorts of protections rose up from the ground and surrounded the new monster. "And now, it becomes my turn." He said, drawing again.
"By Banishing the four Face-Up Crystalline monsters on my field, I Fusion Summon a Crystalline monster from my Extra Deck!" Kutafis said, his four monsters splitting apart, and scattering in mid-air. They collided into eachother, forming a large mass of crystals. The mass slowly cracked in some places, unfolding into a giant phoenix-looking creature, still coated in brilliantly-shining crystals. (ATK: 2000/DEF: 1500)
"I activate the effect of the newly summoned Crystalline Phoenix. When it is Fusion Summoned, I absorb a level 6 or lower monster on your field. Crystalline Phoenix will gain 800 ATK after absorbing it." Kutafis said, as many shining tentacles sprung from the bird's wings, ensnaring the King Tiger. "Also, Crystalline Phoenix possesses some of the effects of my Crystalline Monsters. First, it cannot be destroyed through Card Effects, and I can send an absorbed monster to the grave to prevent his destruction through battle. Neither player will take battle damage when he battles. As a final effect, Crystalline Phoenix cannot be targeted with card effects." Kutafis explained the effects thoroughly. "As there is now point in attacking you, I will simply set one card and end my turn."

Shayla strolled over to Aiya; seeing as that masked stranger had recovered her bag, who knew if he was going to re-appear around the girl again? Besides, it was still early in the day, and nor was it too late to make new friends in Zero City. She smiled pleasantly as she said, "Hello, I saw that person return your backpack to you. I wanted to help myself, but I arrived a little too late. I'm Shayla Sharp, by the way." She stuck out her hand, and kept up her friendly smile towards Aiya.

This girl doesn't look too bright. Hehe, she may just about be my gateway to my husband - if only I knew who that stranger was, I'm sure he's just as handsome without that mask on.

Aiya flinched slightly as the masked man turned around, seeming to hesitate for a few moments before replying.

"Oh...Err, yeah, sure," Aiya replied, instinctively gripping her bag tighter as the man vanished into an alleyway.

That was wierd, Aiya bit her lip.

After taking a moment to catch her breath she heard footsteps approaching and saw a woman walking up to her with a friendly smile on her face. Her nerves still bouncing around, Aiya attempted to calm down and stowed her deck back in her bag, though kept a tight grip of it in front of her.

"Huh? Oh, thanks I think," Aiya replied as the woman introduced herself, taking her hand with some slight hesitation "My...My name's Aiya."

A moment passed in akward silence as Aiya managed to calm down, casting a glance down the alley where the masked man had vanished into. She turned back to Shayla, a curious frown on her face.

"You, err...You wouldn't know who that was just now, would you?" She asked.

"I'm afraid I don't," answered Shayla. She was careful to keep her tone as warm as possible; she couldn't loose her most precious asset right now. "I must say, he was very impressive, wasn't he? I have never seen anybody fight with so much courage." That was a fact; even though she knew a few fighters herself, all of them were immediately forgotten in light of this stranger.

Conversation was starting to run thin, and Shayla kept going. "You did look rather worried when your backpack was stolen - do you something important stowed in there?" Logically speaking, she must have something important in there ... the question is, do they have any real market value? She was going to use this opportunity to examine Aiya's possessions more closely - and know more about her in sly ways.

"Oh, I see," Aiya replied to Shayla's response "Well I guess it doesn't matter anyway."

She shrugged and tried to forget it, but the masked man kept nagging at the back of her head. She knew about superheros and things like that but was always under the impression they only existed in cartoons and comics, not something that turned up in reality.

She was jerked out of her thoughts when Shayla began speaking again. Aiya forced a smile back onto her face and gave a light hearted chuckle.

"To be honest, most of it's just junk," she said "Though I do keep my deck in here as well and I...Well..." She turned slightly red and broke eye contact with Shayla "It's...Just important to me."

She bit her lip, trying to think of a way to change the subject.

"Anyway, I'm guessing you live in this city right?" She asked "I just moved here recently so I don't know my way around too well."

Kariya flinched, and drew his next card cautiously. He knew that what he was facing was almost invincible. He did, however, have a way to destroy it. "It appears in your haste to summon such a strong monster, you've forgotten entirely to keep it protected, and that will be your flaw!" He summoned a monster from his hand, slamming it onto his duel disk. "I special summon my Cyber Dragon in attack mode!" A light shone in front of him as his mechanical dragon took form in front of him. "But he won't be around for long, I'm sacrificing him for your monster's demise!" His Cyber Dragon disappeared, making way for a dark aura rising up above in front of Kariya. "I call on the dark powers of the shadows, I Tribute Summon - Caius the Shadow Monarch!" With that the monster took form in front of him. Kariya smirked. "No, my Caius' ability activates, allowing him to banish 1 card on the field. Fortunately for you, I can't simply banish your pigeon here, but I can banish the monster it absorbed! Now, Caius, eliminate my own King Tiger - Cataclysmic envelopment!" The dark aura surrounding the monster grew darker, and soon formed around the absorbed Tiger, encasing it. Then, the aura vanished, and the tiger was gone. "Now, without your battle immunity, your monster's wide open to an attack. Caius, Wicked Flare attack!" The monster launched an orb of darkness straight at the Phoenix, paralyzing it and dragging it down, towards the grave. "With that, I end my turn, your precious monster is no more." Kariya said, much calmer.

Just as I thought. She has nothing except her deck. Shayla tapped her deck holder lightly. "Everybody duels around here; if you ever want a duel, you can easily find opponents." Pause. "I've been here for nearly a year now, and this city already feels like my home." Not to mention I know most of the males around here. This Aiya girl certainly seems interesting ... I wonder ... "So ... do you have the time for a duel? I love challenging new opponents, and learning about other decks."

"My monsters aren't taken that easily. I activate the effect of the Banished Cystalline Beast! I return my Phoenix to my Extra Deck to negate your attack, and then revive all the Crystalline monsters that were used as Fusion Material Monsters!" Kutafis said, as his Phoenix split apart once more, reforming into the other four monsters. "Though my Crystallines are back, their effects will be negated."
Kutafis sighed, drawing. He looked at his newly drawn card, grinning. "You're about so see something very, VERY spectacular, my friend. I summon the final piece, Crystalline Serpent!" A long, thin strand of crystal emerged, with two green, glowing eyes. "And now, the finale. I Banish all the Crystalline Monsters for a Fusion Summon!" Kutafis declared, his monsters breaking down again. They formed the usual mass, splitting in various places. It unfolded once more, this time into a much larger dragon-esque beast. (ATK: 2500/DEF: 2000) "Crystalline Dragon's monster effect! The moment he's summoned, I absorb another monster you control! My Dragon will gain half the power of whatever bs absorbs! Now, absorb Caius, the Shadow Monarch!" He declared. The dragon emitted the same green, crystallized tendrils which laced around the monarch. "Crystalline Dragon will also inherit effects. He cannot be destroyed or targeted by card effects, and cannot be destroyed through battle. I take no battle damage when he attacks. If a monster attacks him, then all ml sees equipped to him through his own effects will be sent to the grave." Kutafis explained. (ATK: 2500 --> 3700)
"Now, Crystalline Dragon! Direct attack! Crystal Over Stream!"

Kariya attempted to embrace the powerful attack, but his efforts were in vein as he was hurtled backwards, straight into the garage door. He struggled to regain his stature and balance. He drew the card for his next turn, but didn't hold it for long. "I may appear... arrogant, but I know... when I'm... beat." He was drained from the attack, and he knew he had nothing left in his deck to get rid of his opponent's dragon. "I surrender, I have nothing I can even hope to beat that dragon with, especially when you can just negate any of my attacks and just remake it the next turn." He returned his hand to his deck and then placed his hand over the centre of his duel disk. He life points decreased to 0 and the duel holograms faded. "I guess there are some good duelists in this city... see ya around." He said, before disappearing briefly into the garage, soon accelerating back out of the alley-way and back onto the busy street.

"Hm," Aiya contemplated Shayla's challenge "I guess so...I'm not really doing anything right now."

She shrugged and finished her deck out of her bag along with a cheap, and rather battered looking, duel disk. After slotting her deck into the duel disk and stowing her bag away on her back again she stood a few paces back from Shayla waiting for her to get ready.

I wonder what kind of deck she uses, Aiya thought to herself I don't get to duel other people all that often so I'm not sure what she might use. I guess I'll just have to wait and see, thinking about it isn't going to... She almost slapped herself for spending so much time thinking again, if she wasn't careful she was going to miss Shayla's turn and be completely lost.
