Navras
Note: I won't be posting as the emperors for every post, this is just the intro first post so... yeah. Emperor Despair Caliburn looked out on the dawn sky with a cloudy look in his eye. THe sun rising on the horrizon seemed a never ending shade of gold, something so pure and yet so... sorrowful. Despair closed his eyes and sighed, taking in the morning air and letting it circulate through his body. "My lord?" One of his paiges came forward, saluting their emperor and bowing on one knee. Despair opened his eyes and looked behind him at his paige. "Yes?" he asked, turning back to the dawn and walking to the balcony just outside of his living quarters. "Preparations are almost complete. The legion is ready to march at your command sir." "What is the statis of X?" "Sir, it's nearing completiong... it's just..." "Just what?" "Well... from what I've been told, sir, the components you asked for hard proving themselves hard to come by, and-" "I don't care about the gory details," Despair said, turning on his heel tot he paige and glaring at him. "Get it done. If there's going to be a minor set back, tell me that simply. Now get out, I must sing..." "Yes my lord," The Paige bowed to his emperor and exited. Despair leaned against his balcony railing and closed his eyes once more. "The pieces are almost in place... the grandest game of chest ever known is about to begin." _ "Hail, our lord and empror, the true heir to the throne, Emperor Organis Caliburn til Argox!" The once still meeting room now stood straight at attention as their lord marched his way up the hall and to his throne. As he passed, they all turned, row by row, and saluted thier lord, singing out the praise, "Our lord!" as he passed by. This was not something that had been demanded by Organis, it was done volunteerly. For everone in that hall had tremendous and unwavering respect for their Emperor. Organis walked up the seven steps that separated him from his throne and turned on his heel to the crowd before him. They all simultaniously saluted him, much to his satisfaction. In one gigantic roar, they all shouted, "All Hail our lord and savior, Emperor Organis!" Emperor Organis raised his hand for silence and it was answered with such. "The time has finally come!" he called out to his devoted people. "We have raised a legion unmatched by either of my brothers and more over the world! Our military might and cunning shall be the rue of the rest of the world! Brothers, sisters," he continued, turning and picking up the sacride sword taht leaned against his throne. He raised it high above his head and called, "Soon this sword shall plunge itself into the hart of the world! We will create a shinning future, one where I am the only emperor. And then, only then, THE WORLD WILL KNOW EVERLASTING PEACE!" This last sentance was met with cheers of aproval from all. Emperor Organis smied at them. How simple it was to manipulate a crowd. He raised his hand for silence once more and he got it. "Brothers and sisters, join me as I sing the song!" _ "Straighten up you magots! Are you so brain dead that you don't realize what this day signifies? It is the day that our lord, the mighty Mundos, has come to cheer on our everlasting fight! Starighten up the line now!" At the commande of the general, and in extension Emperor Mundos himself, the military line at the Break-point camp not only got into perfect formation but stood so straight they seemed two feet taller. "Attention!" the general shouted. "Emperor Mundos residing!" The general stepped back and stood in front of his small legion of men, the mighties of men in his humble opinion, and looked up at the sky at the approaching air ship; their emperor's airship. Embroded with the holy colors yellow and blue along with the freoucios symbol of a Knight in white armor holding the flag of their great country of Vextoria on the side. Within two minutes the air ship had landed not five hundred yards from where the general and his men were standing. The door to the airship opened and two elite guards stepped out, holding javelins decorated with the vextorian flag. As they stepped forward, two more stepped out, then two more, and two more until there were a dozen on each side, leading from the airship to the line of soilders. Finally, from out of the airship came their emperor; Emperor Mundos Caliburn vi Vextoria. As he stepped out, his elite guards turned promtply and raised the flag of Vextoria high. Mundons steped forward, grazing the flags above his head with his crown as he passed them. "Bow and make youselves presentable!" the general commanded his troops. They obeyed without question. Emperor Mundos, having reached the end of his elite guards looked at the battalion of soilders before him, all bowing, ready to serve and die for him. "Good morning soilders of the Holy Vextoria!" Mundos called at the battalion straightened up once more. "You are here for one reason and one reason alone," Mundos continued, begining to walk to the left of the line. "To spread the holy name of Vextoria to the rest of the world!" "My lord!" the battalion called in answer. "This is not an easy task, as you all know. Of the one thousand soilders that I originally sent to this Break-point between countries, only four hundred and seventy five remain, from what I've been told." Emperor Mundos turned to the smalll legion. "Those of you who has survived are the better of the thousand." Mundos turned and began walking to the right side of the line. "Vextoria dose not need soilders who will easily die on their country. Vextoria needs soilders like you, dedicated, intellegent, and most importantly," Emperor Mundos turned back to the line, "you are strong." Emperor mundos stopped where he stood and looked the line up and down. "The battle for this unenlightened country is almost over gentlemen! For this encampment, only you four hundred and seventy five men remain. Far more than enough to enlighten this miserable country." Emperor Mundos smiled in the early morning dawn light and raised his fist high. "Believe in the cause you are fighting for, never let the holy name of Vextoria be sullied and you shall never know defeat! HAIL VEXTORIA!" "HAIL VEXTORIA!" the small batalion answered their emperors call. "Now, holy soilders of Vextoria, I ask you all to join my in this early morning to sing the song tha shall slense the world! Raise your voices, let the world know what we stand for!" _ "Listen up men," Godrick's commander said to the small group of men who counldn't number more than seventy men. "Our goal today is not some foolish one as to defeat every last man in the Munalous border, that would be suicide. We are but seventy men, while they number in the hundreds. It is a battle that we cannot win head on. I am not a military strategizor, but we have a man among us who is." Godricks commader, who he had yet to learn the name of, turned to Godrick and motioned for him to step foward. Godrick nodded and stepped before the crowd of men. "As it was said, this is not a fight that we can win head on, you all know that." Godrick smiled and looked at most every face of every man and woman there. "But, we have the terrain advantage. Vextorian soilders are made to line themselves up as a single body that can attack in any direction simultaniously as well as split apart into smaller bodies. But these bodies cannot operate with the mountanous terrain of the Munalous border. We can. Right now it's just past the breaking point of dawn, the battalion will just be awakening from their nights slumber. They won't be prepared for a sneak attack." "What ar you getting at?" some one called out. "You're sending mixed messages. You said that we can't attack them head on because of their numbers but we still have the advantage?" "That's exactly what I'm saying," Godrick said without turning towards the person that spoke. "By utelizing the surrounding area, we can attack, confuse, disorientate, and even disban the group of nearly five hundred vextorian soilders at your counties border. But we have to do it right." Godrick looked around once more at the group of only seventy people beore him. Even with his words, he was doubtful of his plan. He turned to his commander for guidance who nodded in turn. Godrick nodded and turned back towards the crowd. "I know that the chance is slim, but if we do this right, we can banish this group of Vextorian soilders from your soil. Isn't it worth the risk to be a free and independant people? Isn't that what we of the Rebellion are fighting for?" There were many nods of agreement and a few cheers as well. Godrick looked over the crowd once more and said, "We can, we will defeat Vextoria. Then after them Argox will fall. And finally, when we have more than two thirds of the world against them, we will destroy the walls of Malbicious and end tyranny forever!" Many people were crying out now in agreement. Their cries echoed around the small cave that they were hidining in. Godrick turned to his commander and nodded twice. He nodded back in turn and stepped forward. "Let us sing the song! turn your heads towards the morning light and let the world hear our cries of pain and injustice!" _ And all as one, Emperor Despair, Emperor Organis and his royal court, Emperor Mundos and his small battalion at the Munalous border, and Godrick of the Rebellion all sang the holy song, each with different meaning behind the words. I am mighty Alone I am king Whirlwinds of fire we ride Violence brought us the crown and the ring Never again shall we die! And thus, the begining of the end has begun. She was a smaller girl among the crowd and yet she still sang her heart out. She had been born and raise in times of peace and she wanted with all her heart for it to return that way. She looked at the morning sun rise, taking in its beauty. "I will fight for my king and for peace." She mummbled under her breath. The guy next to her gave her a weird look before turning back to his position. Kinahi waited patiently for her leige to give everyone in the room leave, as he did, Kinahi made a quicklbolt for the door and for the airship, ready to fight. She raised her hand above her head. As she did a pentagram appeared over her hand and flashed. She lowered her hand to right in front of her and a Chocobo emerged from the summoning circle. She quickly hopped onto the Chocobo. "Let's go, Coco" She said as the Chocobo took off down the street and towards the airship.
Asriel Dreemurr
I am mighty Alone I am king Whirlwinds of fire we ride Violence brought us the crown and the ring Never again shall we die Vincent Alarius sang out in unison with his fellow soldiers and his emperor, his voice ringing out a bass slightly deeper than that of most of the other men in the small force. As the song ended, he patiently awaited further orders concerning the deployment of the force he found himself a part of. The blood red sword which he had made his two long years ago sat in it's place upon his back, just waiting to be unleashed in unison with the black magic of it's wielder. He was probably the least armored of all the knights present there, the only real armor he wore covering his legs and the permanently affixed armor upon his left arm. That bronze-colored armor and the chains accompanying it that crossed his chest set him further apart from the other Knights, indeed he supposed that he was the only Dark Knight amongst the entirety of the military force gathered there. Regardless of his nature, he had pledged his loyalty to Vextoria and her Emperor and he would do his duty when the time came.
PikMan
I am mighty Alone I am king Whirlwinds of fire we ride Violence brought us the crown and the ring Never again shall we die Tarin was likely the youngest person in the rebellion at that point, being only 14. Despite her age, she was already a very capable Black Mage. She joined the Rebellion 4 or 5 years ago, when someone named Maldevus rendered her an orphan. Even though this was the primary reason she joined, she knew exactly what the song stood for, and sang along. Her determination was so strong it could easily be mistaken for bloodlust, but Tarin had a heart of gold. The only thing that could dampen her spirits now would be water. She hated it. But seeing as there was none in the area, she sang just as loudly as the rest.
Otaku-sama
Qiang listened in silence as Emperor Mundos made a pathetic attempt to raise morale in the diminishing regiment. Morale was not what the regiment needed. It was soldiers and a change of tactics that they needed, both of which were denied by the bureaucrats. Qiang felt hatred towards the politician who gave his speech, but held his tongue. I am mighty Alone I am king Whirlwinds of fire we ride Violence brought us the crown and the ring Never again shall we die! Qiang sung with full force with the rest of his regiment, but not for the same reason. Qiang did not sing for Mundos. No, he was only a child in his eyes. Qiang sang for the dead king, the one who he swore allegiance to, his true master. Of course, Qiang acted as if he was singing to Mundos, but he always had the king in mind. After the singing was finished, Qiang looked upon his squad. He saw many young faces among them, which saddened him. Vextoria's insistence on orthodoxy will cost them many young lives. Overcome with frustration, Qiang let out a deep sigh. Navras
The song had been sung, it was time. If they were to spring an deffective attack against the vextorians, it would have to be then and there. While other members of the Rebellion prepared themselves for the fight that was ahead, Godrick made his way through the crowd of rag tag soilders and found the youngest among them. Little Tarin, who was more than a decade younger than he was. Too young. But, in this world of waring brothers, there was no room for innocence. He was just glad that a child wiht such talent had joined the forces of the Rebellion rather than be swayed by teh false promises of the other empires. Getting down on one knee in front of Tarin, godrick gave his best smile and said, "Little one, you are to stay next to me during this attack. You're going to be in my personal squad and help with the plan, okay? Just follow my instructions and stay close to me." Standing up at full height, Godrick looked around at the group looking at him and gave a satisfied nod. "Alright, we leave now." ~ Godrick hid behind a large rock above the Vextorian camp. It had only been twenty minutes since his early morning speech and the unveiling of his plan, but he still felt woozy from all of the energy that the others had let off. It felt spectacular to be in front of all of them, leading them on, telling this his battle plan. For a moment, he was the king in the worlds largest game of chess, and he had control of all of the pieces. He shook his head and breathed in and out steadily. He looked over the rock down below and saw a group of Vextorian soldiers marching along. He hid his head back and looked due north east of his position. A fellow member of the rebellion met his gaze some five hundred meters away and nodded to him. Godrick nodded back and looked south west of his position. Another member of the rebellion gave him the same nod. He nodded back and dared to look over the rock once more to look westward of his position. The third and final member of the rebellion he had appointed to these positions gave him the same nod as the other three then ducked back behind their cover. Godrick did the same. Looking back at Tarin, Godrick smiled and said, "Wait for the signal. No movements until we're told to do so." The plan was as followed. In the early dawn, this morning after their beloved emperor had come to see them and their spirits where high (but their wits low), every able bodied person was to hide behind various rocks in the appointed four groups, positioned north west, east west, south east and west all around the Vextorian army, and wait for his signal. When that signal was given, as it had just been given, a group of Godrick's men were to cause a tiny artificial landslide. Two of his men would be used as scapegoats, volunteers of course, and follow the avalanche down to the bottom, where a group of Vextorian soldiers were to be waiting, wanting to know the cause of the artificial land slide. When the two had been apprehended, the camp would go on full alert and try to find any stragglers that were left besides the two. The most likely position that they would take would be to separate their soldiers in all directions. Once this has happened, he would give the signal for all four parties to create a giant avalanche via the small explosives he had issued everyone that would encase the soldiers on all sides. If there were to be any survivors, which there certainly would be, Godrick would give the signal for the first wave of fighters to descend upon them while a second wave stayed up top with flaming arrows and while a smaller third wave followed the first and covered as much of the camp as they could in oil. If they first wave failed, the second wave would come down from their perch and help the first wave. This stradegy seemed quite advantageous for the Rebellion, seeing as the Tiny Mountains were prone to avalanches and yet still held together firm. If all went as planned, it should wipe out the Vextorian camp entirely. That is if it worked. Godrick turned abruptly to the left as the small avalanche was triggered and a wave of rocks slide down the mountain side towards the group of soldiers below. The first move in the game of chess had been his, now it was time for his opponents move. - "My lady!" called a guard, sprinting over to Kinahi as she began riding away on her chocobo. Running in front of the great bird, the guard waved his arms and held his ground, running the chocobo to a stop with a "Kweh!" Panting heavily, the guardc stepped to the side of the chocobo andlooked up at Kinahi. As it was, he was an elite guard, one of only a few men who were allowed to guard Emperor Organis personally. Though he had just run a great speed and was obviously fatigued from he, he stood up straight and gave the young girl a salute. "My lady, if you would accompany me back to the main hall, you have been summoned to an audience of some great importants. If you would please dismount from your Chocobo and walk it to the hall, that would be most acceptable." Giving Kinahi another quick salute, the guard took a step back fromt eh chocobo and waited for her to dismount.
PikMan
Tarin looked up at the avalanche. She held her rod tightly in her right hand, preparing to cast a spell if necessary. Despite being so young, she was already a decent Black Mage. She only knew 3 or 4 spells, but that was bound to change soon. But this battle was the first time she would be able to use them on a living person. As the artificial avalanche ended, Tarin waited eagerly for the signal. She had been particularly excited for this mission because she didn't want the other rebels to think she was incapable just because of her young age. This was her opportunity to prove herself. She was aware Godrick saw her true potential, and she held a deep respect for him. As soon as the signal was given, she was going to show everybody she wasn't just a kid. She was certain of that. Asriel Dreemurr
A small avalanche came down towards the Vextorian army whilst Vincent and the small group of soldiers under his command were back in the main encampment. The soldiers of the rebellion were found and many of the other lower-level officers had taken their soldiers out in all directions, searching about for the remaining rebellion forces but Vincent and about a dozen other officers had stayed back in the encampment with their soldiers. This group found something very suspicious about and opted to stay back where they had a more defensible position. One way or another, Vincent knew that this was unlikely to end well. He turned to his soldiers and those of the other officers which had stayed behind from the search. "We have not remained away from the advance out of cowardice," the Dark Knight began, looking out over the group of perhaps a hundred soldiers before him. "We have stayed behind because we do not wish to see the lives of good men wasted. The enemy has demonstrated the ability to call down the mountainside at will and thus must have control of the high ground. This is the best position which we have access to, and there are a great many supplies here vital to our war-effort in this region. I believe my fellow officers agree with me when I say this. Your orders are to take up defensive positions around the camp. You are to hold the line, allow no enemies to pass into the camp. If we die this day, we die standing." With that, he and the other officers took their men to their positions with the handful of soldiers under Vincent's command taking up the central position on the line. They couldn't hold out forever, but they were sure as all hell going to hold out as long as they could.
Lady_Killer
Kanahi looked at the man and sighed. "God, what did I do this time." she said under her breath, "Okay let's go"she Said quickly dismounting from the chocobo and walking over to the man. "You might want to shield your eyes for a second." she said to the man, holding out her palm in the same instance. In a bright flash of light, a portal appeared in front of her and she snickered. "Okay Coco, time to go home." The large bird quickly made it's way into the portal and Kanahi closed the vortex. "Now take me to my king, or I'll send send you to the plains of hell personally." she said with a devious smile.
Otaku-sama
Qiang saw an avalanche tumble down a mountainside, causing Qiang to seek out it's source. Somehow, an avalanche happening on an overcast day seemed to be too suspicious. Normally, the heat of the sun would melt snow to cause natural avalanches, but this avalanche stunk of foul play. It had to be an ambush of some sort. All but one of the brigades scattered in all directions in an attempt to find the source of the avalanche, which was standard Vextorian military tactics. "Sir! We should go find the source of the avalanche, Sir!" one of the younger soldiers of Qiang's brigade piped. Qiang slowly turned around and looked the young man in the eye, inspecting his face. The young soldier's disposition wavered, but remained mostly the same. Qiang slowly turned back to the other brigades. "No. We're staying right here," Qiang responded without looking back at the soldier. "Sir, that would be a breach in Vextorian tactics, Sir! We cannot break code Sir!" the young soldier said, almost pleading. Qiang turned to the soldier once more, but quickly this time. "The code is the reason why so many of your brothers have died. Do you wish to follow them to the afterlife?" Qiang shouted fiercely into the soldier's face. The soldier cringed, unable to regain his composure. "Sir, that would be heresy," an older soldier warned. Qiang looked away from the terrified younger soldier and turned to the other and stared into his eyes. After a short standoff, Qiang turned towards the other brigades once again. "Any of you who do not wish to breach code, leave and join another brigade in the search," Qiang said coolly. Behind him, soldiers started to break rank, one by one, each one running off in a random direction. When Qiang turned back towards his brigade, only a handful of soldiers remained. Qiang slowly paced in front of what was left of his soldiers. "You are the smart ones. That avalanche was not natural and is probably going to be part of an ambush. Let's hope the enemy was not expecting us to stay here," Qiang said curtly before returning his gaze to the mountains.
Navras
Taking a peek over the rock that he had taken refuge behind, Godrick saw that his artificial avalanche had taken it's appropriate effect. Many dozen of soilders if not hundreds had begun scattering their way throughout the camp, looking not only for the source of the avalanche but also to protect what needed to be protected. Turning to his right and left, Godrick gave two nods each, the signal to send down four rebel soldiers as scapegoats. His nods were returned and four men slid out from behind their refuge and down the slope, following the small avalanche. "Death to Vextoria!" one of them shouted. "Long live Munalous!" cried out the other. Godrick watched from behind his safe haven, his eyes just barely beyond the rock, making it difficult for him to see, though not impossible. This is perfect, Godrick thought to himself. As soon as those four are captured, two potential goldmines of information, i will all but have won this. They can't kill them, those vextorian soldiers, as it would be the same as treason int he eyes of their emporer. Yes, run, get captured. As soon as you're in custody... Godrick continued to watch the scene, waiting to strike and let loose his full wave of attack. looking back at Tarin, he mouthed the word "Soon" to her before turning back and awaiting his moment. - The emperial guard, not phased by Kanahi's visual display, promtly turned on his heel and marched back towards the Main Hall, where she would meet with those seeking an audience with her. As it happened, he didn't know who it was that wanted to speak to her. Leading her through the now thin and sparcely dispurced crowd, the elite guard only went as far as the entrance to the main hall. Turning back to Kanahi, he said, "This is where I leave you." Without another word, the guard left Kanahi at teh entrance of the great hall to go preform his duties as an elite guard, whatever those were in Argox. Asriel Dreemurr
Those Vextorian soldiers who could escape the avalanche did so, running back to join those which had never gone rushing out of camp in the first place. Vincent shook his head as he saw the soldiers around him awestruck by the suddenness with which so many of their fellows had been slaughtered. Drawing forth his blood red great sword and holding it one handed before him he turned his head back towards the soldiers. "In the Emperor's name, hold the line!" As he said this, he brought his weapon into a position where he could easily utilize it to guard against just about any attack which he might be struck with. When he turned his head back towards the front, the rest of the soldiers drew their weapons and readied themselves for what they expected to be a charge coming. Vincent knew that, as the enemy would be charging down over the rubble left from the avalanche, the opposing warriors would be off balance. He also counted himself and the other Vextorians fortunate due to the presence of several dozen archers which had positioned themselves behind the line of melee infantry. He knew they would take advantage of the off-balance soldiers that were sure to come hurtling down the slope. He also found himself grateful of the pass behind them which they had taken into the tiny mountains in the first place.
Navras
As the four sacrificial rebellions made it to the bottom of the hill, they drew their weapons and began trashing out at any Vextorian soldier they could get close to. Cries of "We're under attack!" "Form the Perimeter!" "Find the enemy!" were ringing like a choir throughout the campe now as Vextorian soldiers scrambled to take control of the situation. This was the time. Raising his hand up high for the parties around him to see, Godrick placed his fingers into his mouth and blew out a shrill breath, releasing a high pitched whistle that echoed throughout the camp bellow. Then it truely began. with the aid of the smalle xplosives that Godrick had given each party, a huge avalanche on all sides insued. Massive chunks and smaller bits of the Tiny Mountains came crashing down on teh Vextorian camp on all sides, killing all who got too close. Standing up, Godrick held fast only to cherish the surprised and frightened screams of those down below. riasing his scythe, he shouted "First and third wave, follow me! Second wave, send a rain of firy hell down upon them! Burn them all, turn them to ash!" Without question or hesitation, the archers lit their fires, dipped their arrows, and begain raining fire down on the camp from all sides. THe first wave of melee rebels quickly followed the avalanche down the slode, followed by teh third wave carrying the oil which they were to quickly spread through out the camp so as the maximize teh damage of the fire. Turning to Tarin, Godrick said quickly, "Stay close to me, don't attack unless attacked or protecting an ally." Without another word, Godrick jumped over the side of the clif and slid his way down tot he bottom, jumping over stones as he came across them. A Vextorian soldier, stuck in the wreckage by his lower body and flailing his arms for help, was quickly silenced by his scythe in one quick swipe. If all went according toplan, this would just be the first casualty out of hundreds today. By the end of this attack, there should only be the minimal amount of Vextorian soldiers alive. Lookign around, Godrick selected his next Vextorian target and ran after him, now on the hunt and aware of all that was happening around him as it went according to his design. Asriel Dreemurr
Vincent simply nodded his head as the whole of the encampment was surrounded by the rubble of the Avalanches. Knowing there were several dozen soldiers whose lives had suddenly been snuffed out by the crushing river of stone, he brought his blade out in front of him, holding it horizontally for a moment, as the blood of the fallen nearest him seeped up through the stones and adhered itself to the blades. In the mean time, the Vextorian archers began spewing their own deadly rain onto the advancing rebels who, due to the Avalanches of their own design, were likely stumbling down and tripping every which way. It was not long before Vincent noticed the enemies were utilizing flaming arrows, and at about that same time he discerned an infantryman in the second line of advancing enemies stumble and spill black liquid onto the rocks. "Oil.." He said to himself, still gathering the blood of the fallen in preparation for when the two lines met. "Archers, at every opportunity utilize the enemy's own ammunition. Return their fiery rain to them, and target any of their infantry carrying barrels of oil." As he finished this command, the archers immediately obeyed and began grabbing the flaming arrows raining in upon them, when they could, and sending them forth into the rear line of advancing soldiers tasked with carrying the oil. Now, as the enemy soldiers came within range, he brought his blade behind him and over his right shoulder before lashing it out at neck-level to the left. The blood which had gathered on it was compelled by his magic to harden into hundreds of inch-long needles which hurtled out towards the enemy in an arc, ready to let still more blood flow to power their controller. It was after this that he spotted a man wielding a massive scythe very near the front line of his own soldiers out of the corner of his eye. Guessing that he was in command of the rebels here, he left his spot in the line and rushed towards where the scythe-wielder was to arrive before his soldiers. He only hoped that he could arrive in time to avoid a break in the defensive perimeter.
Otaku-sama
It all happened as he had expected. Qiang watched as a large portion of scouting parties were crushed by a series of larger avalanches, which were followed by an enemy assault. The enemies fired flaming arrows upon the camp, causing what part of the camp that was not crushed by ice to burn. Qiang calmly commanded the remainder of his brigade. "Shields up! Tortudo formation!" Qiang shouted. His troops acted immediately. All soldiers with shields raised them and formed a protective box of shields, with unshielded soldiers taking cover inside. As arrows came flying at him, Qiang nimbly slashed them out of the air with his halberd, leaving the smoldering remains on the ground in front of him. This display of dexterity attracted the attention of one group of rebels. Noticing that Qiang's brigade was already small, they chose to charge at him. Outnumbering Qiang and his soldiers two to one, they assumed that they would finish him off quickly. They did not count on Qiang's tactics. At the last possible second before the enemy could engage, Qiang made his move. "Javelins, fire! Pikes, forward!" Qiang shouted as he jumped back onto the roof of the box formed by his soldiers. In an instant after Qiang's command, javelin throwers emerged from the human fortress and threw a barrage of deadly iron rods at the enemy, penetrating through the enemies' shields and crushing their armour, leaving many of them a bloody mess. As the throwers retreated back inside, soldiers with pikes emerged, planting the base of their pikes into the ground. The enemies unlucky enough to be running at full force impaled themselves on pikes. This sudden attack not only evened the numbers, but also shook the enemies' morale and destroyed their formation. Qiang jumped off and sliced at an enemy. "Attack!" Qiang shouted. His troops broke their formation and charged into the enemy.
Navras
"What lovely art is Chaos? It truely brings to light all teh emotions upon one's face and heart. See here," he said, pointing to once face, "a man who is torn between enjoying the bloodshed and afraid for his own life. And this man here, bewildered, unable to comprehend what is going on. And of course this one... well, he's dead, so we can't very well know how he feels can we?" Emperor Despair asked his subhordinat who was by his side. It was a mere 25 minutes after he had sung to the rising sun, but he had already done so much that day. He had eaten breakfast, he had signed a decree, met with a small group of soilders, met with a larger group of scientists and mathmeticians, been asked to aid in a project, declined that aid, and told that his special guest had arrived. He was now waited for said guest in his library, a room stacked upon high with millions of books, most of which he had read. The ones he hadn't read were the ones that bored him. Dictionaries, atlases, encyclopedias. In fact, the only reason he kept them was for otehr people who found use in them. Upon the walls where hundreds of poaintings, hiding whatever color of paint had originally been on the wall. This room was one of peace, and he intended to keep it that way for all time. "Tell me, where is my guest? for I wish to speak with him at the first possible opprotunity." "My lord, I do not know." "Go and find out will you?" "Of course my lord." With a bow, the servant left his master's side in search of his guest. - Coming to a stop at the bottom of the slope, Godrick looked around at the progress so far. Much was going as planned. Most of hte camp was in chaos. In fact, only two groups seemed to have things under control. Two groups he intended to deal with himself. looking at his own troops, Godrick saw that the enemies were aiming for his oil bearers. Not good. They were esential to the plan. But, though a few were gone, many remained and the line of men who had come down the slope with him were already breaking in upon the enemy archers, slashing and hacking at them, stopping their rain of arrows, forcing them to defend themselves. Teh remaining oil carryers were now inside of hte camp, tossing oil onto tents, soilders, the ground, everywhere, just as he had ordered them to do. He also noted a man and his regement charging upon some of his rebels. This troubled Godrick slightly, but he trusted his men to be able to take care of themselves without too much trouble. But this was a mission based on time. They needed to get in, get out, and set the camp on fire as quickly as possible. The longer they stayed, the more they died and the more that died the more loved ones were lost, and godrick would not have too much of their blood on his hands. Looking back at teh Vextorians, Godrick saw one so bold as to charge him head on. What fun, a man who would challenge him. Smiling foundly, Godrick looked back at Tarin and said quickly, "Stay back and stay safe. Kill any Vextorians that come your way but leave this one to me." Turning away from tarin, Godrick charged towards the on coming soldier, his scythe at his side and a determined look upon his face.
PikMan
Maldevus wasn't his real name. It was a name he crafted for himself after his old identity was presumed dead. There was nothing about him that drew any attention to himself, except for one very unusual thing: Hanging out of his backpack were 3 pitch black marionettes, wearing different clothing, which resembled the traditional outfit of a black mage, a white mage, and a knight. The servant walked up to him. "The emperor requests your presence," he said. Maldevus smiled. "Of course. My apologies for being late," he said insincerely, "But I prefer taking my time with things." Without another word, he made his way to the room where emperor Despair was waiting.
Asriel Dreemurr
The melee fighters under Vincent's command were actually doing an incredible job of holding back the first wave of Rebellion soldiers, keeping most of them off of the archers. Those that made it through their tightly-packed line were quickly dispatched by a swift shot from the nearest archer. While they were not having many flaming arrows fall upon them, those that did were immediately picked up by the archers and returned to the skies to strike the oil-bearers. Those that were struck would immediately burst into flame and possibly spill their load onto the ground to produce a new obstacle for the infantry to overcome. Meanwhile, Vincent himself was charging the scythe-wielding commander. As he did so, he was building up an orb of shadow magic in the palm of his armored left hand whilst he carried his blade in his right. A stumbling soldier in front of him had fallen just enough so that Vincent could run up onto his back and use him as a springboard to leap into the air. As he did so, he shot his left hand out towards Godrick and unleashed a single three foot long spear of darkness which completely consumed the darkness which had coalesced within his palm. His next move brought him spinning about to bring his blade coming down towards Godrick's left shoulder in a down-and-rightward arc.
Otaku-sama
Qiang fought in the melee along with his troops, something specifically forbidden by regulation. The rebels were lightly armoured, allowing him to cut down soldier after soldier with relative ease. His troops were doing a good job in fighting too, taking advantage of their opponent's lack of armour by attacking swiftly. Through the thicket of battle, he saw another, more distinguished soldier armed with a war scythe emerge from the rocks behind his troops. The scythe-wielder was accompanied by a mage girl who looked far too young to be in war. Qiang abhorred the thought of a child in war and walked to meet the rebel commander, slaying any soldier who dared to attack him. "You! What kind of lowlife must you be to have a child fight for you?!" Qiang taunted the commander, gesturing to the mage girl with the end of his halberd. PikMan
Upon hearing what the soldier with the halberd just said, Tarin decided to have a duel of her own. "I'm not just a child." After speaking these words, Tarin began muttering something under her breath. Suddenly, a bright fireball appeared at the tip of her magical rod. The fire in her eyes burned just as bright. The two things Tarin hated most were water (Because she can't swim) and being called a little kid. And that soldier had just pushed her berserk button. "I'll make you eat those words..." With that, she hurled the fireball at her unlucky target. Meanwhile, Maldevus entered the library where Despair was waiting. "I apologize for being late, my lord," he said. Otaku-sama
Qiang did not expect such a sudden and powerful attack from the girl and had to dive out of the way of the flames. The area where he stood was now engulfed in flames, cutting off his path to return to his brigade. He turned to the mage and saw the anger in her eyes. It was a childish anger, making Qiang chuckle a little. "Excuse me, young lady. The battlefield is no place for a woman of your age. What lies has this man told you to push you to fight?" Qiang asked, trying to keep track of both the mage and the rebel commander. He noticed that another brigade leader had charged towards the rebel commander as well. Once the commander is distracted, Qiang would move in for the kill.
PikMan
"For your information," Tarin replied, "I volunteered." Just then, she suddenly realized that her opponent was trying to pay attention to Godrick as well. Tarin knew precisely what he was planning to do. I need to keep this guy distracted, or else he'll kill Godrick! She hurled another fireball.
Navras
"Spare me the apologize, Maldevus, I needn't hear them in this place of peace and knowlege," Emperor Despair said, waving his hand as if to bat Maldevus' words out of existance. Turning to his guest, he immedeately noted the back he carried upon his back. "You won't be needing that in here, and in fact it is forbidden for even my guards to bring weapons in here. Leave your pack at the door. I won't share another word with you until you do." Turning away from Maldevus, Emperor Despair pulled a book out from one of the several shelves and flipped through a few pages until he found a passage that he particuarly enjoyed and began reading, waiting for Maldevus to do as he has told. For this was a place of knowlege and peace. Even his enemies would respect that fact and not come into the room armed, let alone his allies. - The end of the battle was coming close. More and more of the Vextorian tents were catching fire, though godrick himself was takinga heavy toll on his own units. It was a toll they were all willing to make, and a risk they were all happy to undergo without so much as asking. this wasn't a gitgh for land or for rights or for even love. This was a fight, a war, for freedom. A person's freedom is everything. Without it, they coudl do nothing. Nations with power, they always seem to forget this simple fact, especially the ones that wanted freedom themselves. Ever expanding, they care only about the freedoms of themselves and disregard all other's freedoms entirely. But for the freedom of one country, one single bodied nation, Godrick and his Rebellion were willing to risk it all. so it was easy for Godrick to jump out of the way of the on coming comander's projectile attack and raise his scythe up and round in an arche to both block and temporarily disable his adversaries blade, driving the tip of it into the ground along with the tip of his own scythe. Looking at his enemy, he saw a young man, possibly younger than him, who was fighting blindly for a land that neither belonged to him or his emperor. Smirking, Godrick said, "Look at the little soilder boy, fighting so valiantly for his emperor. But I'm not fighting for any one person, i'm fighting for thousands, millions all aroudn the world." Raising his free hand, Godrick charged up a quick fire spell and locked eyes with his young opponent. "The word is freedom; pass it around." Releasing the young man's blade as well as his own, Godrick jumped backwards through the air and let his fire spell loose down at his adversary. As his feet touched ground once more, Godrick ran forward, his scythe at his side and jumped through the flames, covering his eyes and spinning through the flames so that his scythe would come around in a wide arch to the right. they needed hold out just a little bit longer. Just long enough so that this camp could burn. When the largest fires truly started, then Godrick could take all who had survived and Tarin back to their families and safty. At this point, survival was all that mattered.
PikMan
Maldevus shrugged. He wouldn't need them anyway. He dropped them outside the door. Maldevus then returned to Despair. "My apologies. Now, what did you want to talk to me about?" Unknown to Despair, Maldevus wasn't his ally. He didn't owe his allegiance to any empire. He did want the rebellion gone, but for a different reason than most would expect. But Despair didn't need to know just yet, Maldevus thought. Asriel Dreemurr
"You think I'm just fighting for one man?" Vincent stated as he now began charging another round of blood magic into his blade, tearing it free from the ground as his older foe released it. Seeing the burst of fire hurtling towards him, he leaped back himself just as the blood magic once again began to drain the blood of the fallen around him and coat his blade with it. Meanwhile his troops had taken up a position in defense of one of the tents which held a small command post and a great deal of supplies. They fought like demons to prevent the rebellion forces from taking it, and every time any of them be they archer or swordsman took notice of an enemy carrying oil they did whatever they could at the time to strike them down. The tent they now defended had a small fire, lit by the last watchman, before it and inside there was a supply of pitch for the torches used by the night watchmen. The archers quickly broke open one of the barrels of pitch and began dipping their own arrows in it, before lighting them from the remains of the fire. Thus, Vincents soldiers began unleashing their own flaming arrows upon the enemy rather than simply slapping a "return to sender" stamp on them. "Well, you've misjudged me then," Vincent continued as his foe had now come blindly sweeping his scythe. The young dark knight brought his blade up to catch the weeping weapon just on the tip of the blade. He pressed his left hand against the opposite flat of the blade and angled it slightly back towards him, providing a sort of ramp which would send the scythe hurtling up into the air. "I fight to see this world united under the power of a single man, a man who could very well have been and could still be the king of whom the blessed song speaks. I will see this world united, and I will not fall to you!" As he finished this speech, he turned his blade towards his foe and drove it straight towards him whilst his scythe remained up in the air and he was more or less vulnerable. The blood upon his blade exploded outward and formed a thick red mist which rapidly expanded outward.
