I swear that's the only thing I'll ever hear about chapter five as you're the third person to point that out (first on here). I forgot that part of the effect, though it probably would have turned out better if I had remembered it as admittedly that was a cheap way to get rid of an ace monster..
A red D-Wheel sped down the highway next to a black one.
“What do you want, Yusei?” asked Drake, rider of the black bike.
“Crow thought he might be targeted, especially as he suspected you were this ‘Wing of Night’ person. Therefore, before he lost, he pressed a button on his Disk that he set up, which alerted me. He may not have been able to stop you, but I will. I’ll also show you the power of the Exceed monsters,” replied Yusei.
“You mean…”
“Yes. The first Exceed prototype has been created. Your efforts have failed. I’ll show you their power, and that they aren’t evil beings. Let’s go!”
“Fine,” snarled Drake.
They hit a button on their consoles, yelling “Field Spell card, Speed World 2, set on!” as they did so.
A computerized voice sounded from the D-Wheels. “Duel mode on, autopilot standby!”
A different computerized voice sounded from the vehicles as a map of the highway appeared on the screens. “Duel system engaged, searching for optimal route. Authorization acquired. Duel lane central, chosen.”
The two turned and drove through a duel gate, as yellow barriers began to spring up, cutting off the lane from the rest of the highway as the second voice began to speak again, projected via speakers on the highway began to speak again. “A Duel is commencing! A Duel is commencing! All other vehicles, move into the next lane. A Duel is commencing…”
The two drew their opening hands as they shouted, “RIDING DUEL, ACCELERATION!”[Drake: 8000LP, 0SPC] [Yusei: 8000LP, 0SPC]
“I’ll be going first!” exclaimed Yusei.
“Fine, then.”
Yusei drew, quickly looked at his hand, and then sent two to cards to the Graveyard. “By discarding two cards, Big Eater can be Special Summoned from the hand!”
A rainbow portal appeared and a strange looking monster emerged from it. It looked like some kind of tiki face with legs wearing a crown. (800/0/2)
“You got rid of two cards to summon that?”
“Yeah, I did. Now I summon Debris Dragon!”
A small, muscular white dragon with pads of red fluid on parts of its body appeared, flying down next to Yusei. (1000/2000/4)
“Now his effect kicks in. When this guy is Normal Summoned, I can revive a monster in my Graveyard, provided its attack score isn’t above five hundred. I’ll bring back the Clear Effector I discarded.”
Debris Dragon stuck out an arm and a portal opened beside it. Out if it flew a beautiful woman with long, black hair wearing an orange shirt and skirt, and some Egyptian jewelry. (0/0/2)
“When I have a Tuner on the field, Quillbolt Hedgehog can be Special Summoned from the Graveyard, as long as I banish it when it leaves the field!”
A portal opened and a small brown rodent leapt out. Multiple screws and blots stuck out of its backs like spikes would on normal hedgehogs. (800/800/2)
“I’m tuning my Level two Clear Effector and my Level two Quillbolt Hedgehog to my Level four Tuner monster Debris Dragon!”
The monsters rose up into the sky, Debris Dragon turning into four green rings. The rings flew around the other two monsters, reducing them to orange frameworks containing two stars each.”
“Clustering hopes will become a new shining star! Become the path its light shines upon! Synchro Summon! Take flight, Stardust Dragon!" chanted Yusei.
A burst of bright green light illuminated the darkening sky for a moment as a large dragon descended. It was like an adult version of Debris Dragon. Its blue scales seemed to shine, though parts of its body were white, as were its wings. There were purple pads on its chest and shoulders. It flexed its sharp, steel claws and let out a mighty roar. (2500/2000/8)
“When Clear Effector is used as Synchro Material, I can draw a card, but the summoned monster’s effect is negated.”
“Why would you do that?” asked Drake.
“Yes, surprising, isn’t it? It seems odd that anyone would negate such a useful effect. But, Stardust won’t be around for long, so it doesn’t matter anyway, unless you have some way to blow it up this very second.”
“You’re lying. The only reason you’d ditch Stardust besides its effect is to summon your Shooting Star Dragon. But you can’t do that without your Formula Synchron.”
“I know. So, how bout I summon Formula?”
“Y- you can’t!” protested Drake. “You only have a Level two Tuner!”
“That’s the first step. From my hand, I activate the effect of Synchron Bandit. By targeting a Tuner I control, I can Special Summon this card. After that, the Level of the selected Tuner gets decreased by one. Sadly, any Synchro Monster Synchro Summoned this turn using either of them as Materials is destroyed during the End Phase. But then again, that won’t matter. I target Big Eater to Special Summon Synchron Bandit!”
A small, two foot high grinning black stick figure popped up. (0/100/1)
“He’s a thief, but he didn’t bother to steal a good card design?” muttered Drake.
“His looks are unimportant,” replied Yusei. “His effect on the other hand, is very useful, if you hadn’t gathered already.”
As if on cue, the figure glided over to Big Eater and two Level Stars, orange orbs with a yellow star in the middle appeared in front of it. The monster grabbed one and snickered before throwing it into the air where it disintegrated.
“Guess being a stick figure doesn’t give him anywhere to put the things he steals,” commented Drake drily.
“Doesn’t matter, cause now I’ll be tuning my Level one Synchron Bandit to my now Level one Tuner monster, Big Eater!”
The tiki turned into a green ring that encircled the stick figure, who turned into a white star as Yusei began to chant.
"Clustering wishes will call out a new speed's horizon! Become the path its light shines upon! Synchro Summon! The Power of Hope, Synchro Tuner, Formula Synchron!"
A burst of green light shone from the Synchro Summon, and out of it came what first seemed like a Formula One racecar. However, on closer examination, it could be seen that there was more to this creature. It was in actuality a small blue humanoid robot with the aforementioned car covering its upper body, its head sticking out of the driver’s seat. (200/1500/2)
“And guess what? When I get Formula Synchron out, I get a bonus card!”
Yusei yanked the card off his Deck and quickly slid it into his Wrist Dealer before his D-Wheel began to accelerate, easily passing Drake in a matter of seconds.
“I’m tuning my Level eight Stardust Dragon to my Level two Synchro Tuner, Formula Synchron! Clear Mind!”
Stardust Dragon flew down, gliding next to Yusei’s D-Wheel. Formula Synchron landed in front of the D-Wheel, splitting into two large glowing green rings that formed a gateway of sorts.
"Clustering crystal dreams open the door to a new evolution! Become the path its light shines upon! Accel Synchro! Be born, Shooting Star Dragon!" screamed Yusei.
There was a burst of purple light, which Yusei, his D-Wheel and his two monsters vanished in. He then burst out onto the highway behind Drake, with a new creature gliding overhead. It looked like an upgraded form of Stardust Dragon, its wings less ragged and more futuristic, the white parts on its body looking more like armor, and some of its scales a much darker blue. (3300/2500/10)
Chapter 6: Exceed Summon! Call Forth the Light!
“I set a card and end my turn!”
“My turn, then!” yelled Drake. To get past Shooting Star, I’ll need a miracle. But, I think I’ve got something… “I summon Blackwing – Blizzard the Far North, and since I’ll have a Blackwing out, I can Special Summon Bora the Spear, too!”
Drake threw the cards on his console, and the ice blue bird (1300/0/2) and the spear wielding bird humanoid (1700/800/4) appeared.
“Now, I’ll tune my Level four Blackwing – Bora the Spear to my Level two Tuner monster, Blackwing – Blizzard the Far North!”
Blizzard split into two rings that surrounded Bora, who was reduced to an orange framework containing four stars.
“I call upon you to ultimately slay my foe! Synchro Summon! Descend, Orient Dragon!”
The dragon that burst from the Synchro Summon, was, as its name suggested, an oriental dragon. However, unlike most oriental dragons, this one had wings, which were green and feathered. (2300/1000/6)
“When this card is Synchro Summoned, I can banish one of your Synchros! Go, Orient Eliminator Stream!”
The dragon shot a stream of fire from its mouth; however it was stopped by some invisible barrier before it reached Shooting Star Dragon.
“What was that?” demanded Drake.
“It was the trap known as Remote Reflector. When a monster I control would be banished, I negate the effect and banish a monster you control.”
“But that means…”
“Yep, say goodbye to your Orient Dragon!”
The invisible shield pushed the flames back until they made contact with the dragon, who gave a cry of pain before exploding, leaving behind only a few gold shards, which quickly dissolved into light.
“In that case, I’ll use this, the Speed Spell – Overboost! This gives me four Speed Counters!”
Drake’s D-Wheel started to accelerate.
“Now I’ll activate the Speed Spell – Deceased Synchron, letting me banish monsters from the Graveyard to Synchro Summon, as long as I have five or more Speed Counters. And guess what? I do, thanks to my Overboost! So I’ll banish my Blizzard and Bora…”
A string of six glowing white stars aligned in the sky.
“Winged serpent, dragon lord, ruler of the Ice Barrier, I call upon thee. Synchro Summon! Freeze my enemies and bring me victory, Brionac, Dragon of the Ice Barrier!”
A creature appeared in a burst of bright, white light, floating in the sky. It was called a dragon, but had no legs, due to it actually being a Sea Serpent-type. The color of its scales made it seem as if it were actually made out of ice. (2300/1400/6)
“What’s wrong with you, Drake?” asked Yusei. “Even after becoming Wing of Night, you still used your Blackwings to achieve victory, but in this game, you’re just using them as stepping stones. The cards you’ve been bringing out are good, no doubt about it, but that’s not what the Drake I knew would do.”
“That Drake… he’s dead. He began to die ever since my family did. I began to change then, Yusei.”
“You still blame Crow? The only reason he dueled was-“
“Because my mother asked him to, right? I don’t need to hear those lies from you, too,” snarled Drake. “I’ll duel however I want to, and in this match, I’m playing like this.”
“As you wish…” murmured Yusei. “But I’ll discard my Effect Veiler, so you won’t be blowing my cards off the field.
“I’ll set two cards face down and end my turn, then. The monster summoned via Deceased Synchron is banished during the End Phase…”
Brionac dissolved into grains of light.
“Overboost now reduces my Speed Counters to one…”
Drake’s D-Wheel slowed down, so he was riding beside Yusei once more.
“My turn!” declared Yusei as he drew. “I’ll use the effect of Shooting Star Dragon! I check the top five cards of my deck, and it can attack once per Tuner revealed.”
He picked up the top five cards and flipped them around to reveal Junk Synchron, Sonic Chick, A/D Changer, Drill Synchron and Turbo Synchron and shuffled them back into his deck.
“I get three attacks, so, go – Stardust Mirage!”
Shooting Star Dragon turned blue, with an orange and red copy appearing next to it.
“This is the end!”
The orange and red copies dove down, striking Drake, who cried out. However, as the last one dove down, one of Drake’s face-down cards flipped up.
“Nutrient Z – when I’m going to take two thousand or more points of damage, I recover four thousand before that…”
The last dragon struck, but Drake kept going, though his D-Wheel was wobbling a bit.
“So, you hung on, eh?” said Yusei. “Normally I’d have expected no less, but since you’re playing differently and all, I thought I might have gotten you.”
The blue Shooting Star Dragon absorbed the copies, and then changed back to its original colors.
“I end my turn.”
[Drake: 2100LP, 2SPC] [Yusei: 8000LP, 2SPC]
“On your End Phase, I activate the Trap Card, Shock Draw, so I draw one card for every thousand points of battle damage I took this turn, meaning nine, as I took ninety nine hundred from your attacks.”
“No way.,.”
Drake grabbed the bonus cards, and then drew one more to start his turn.
“Hm, this hand gives me some nice options. Then again, I have ten cards, so it isn’t that surprising, is it? I think I’ll start off with an old favorite play of mine. When I control no cards, I can Special Summon Blackwing – Gust the Backblast!”
The colorful Blackwing appeared in a burst of his own feathers. (900/1400/2)
“I’ll then activate the Speed Spell – Angel Baton, so I’ll draw two cards, and then discard one.”
He did so, prompting Yusei to say, “Like you really need more cards in your card.”
“Oh, I didn’t want more cards,” explained Drake. “I just wanted one in the grave. Now, I’ll summon Blackwing – Blizzard the Far North!”
A second copy of the ice blue bird appeared, and the Bora the Spear that had just been discarded by Angel Baton appeared as well, shielding itself with its lance.
“Blizzard can revive a Level four or lower Blackwing when summoned. I’ll now tune my Level four Blackwing – Bora the Spear and my Level two Blackwing – Gust the Backblast to my Level two Tuner monster, Blackwing – Blizzard the Far North!”
Blizzard turned into two green rings that circled Shura and Gust, who turned into orange frameworks of their bodies, containing a total of six glowing white stars.
“Descend from the darkness… The aspect that can be considered both just and evil, destroy those that oppose my goals… Synchro Summon! Descend! Dark End Dragon!” chanted Drake.
As the chant ended, the large, demonic dragon glided down and began to fly above the D-Wheel, glaring and growling at Shooting Star. (2600/2100/8)
“Now, with three DARK monsters in my Graveyard, I can Special Summon Dark Armed Dragon!”
A gigantic humanoid dragon appeared, covered in black armor with silver outlines, spikes on its body and a large blade sticking out of its back. (2800/1000/7)
“Dark End’s effect, by paying five hundred from each of its scores, I destroy Shooting Star. Go, Dark Evaporation!” (2600 – 2100/2100 – 1600/8)
If I negate this with my effect, it would just give him extra ammunition to use Dark Armed Dragon’s effect, as there would be another DARK in the Grave, thought Yusei. But if I don’t, I’ll lose over half my Life Points. I’ll find a way to revive you, Shooting Star…
“I use the effect of Shooting Star Dragon! Once per turn, a destruction effect can be negated and the card that caused it will be destroyed! I can’t believe you’d let your favorite card fall like that…”
Dark End Dragon fired its blast of darkness at Shooting Star Dragon, who dodged it and fired back a blast of light. The dark dragon looked at its master in pain and sadness as it disintegrated.
“Dark Armed Dragon, finish the job with your effect! I banish Dark End Dragon and destroy Shooting Star!”
A ghostly form of the dark dragon floated up, only to me absorbed by Dark Armed Dragon, who shot a bolt of black lightning out of its claw, which struck down Shooting Star Dragon, who cried out and shattered.
“I discard D.D. Crow, allowing me to banish Shooting Star Dragon! Now you won’t be reviving it.”
As Drake placed the card in his discard slot, a small crow wearing some cybernetic armor appeared and dashed through Yusei’s D-Wheel. It appeared on the other side holding an image of the Shooting Star Dragon card in its beak. It squawked and a purple portal appeared in front of it. The bird flew into the portal, which vanished an instant later.
“Now you can’t revive it!”
He’s right, thought Yusei. I mean, I have a few cards that could revive it from the Graveyard. However, now that it’s banished…
“You look deep in thought, Yusei,” commented Drake. “But this Duel is still on, so I’d better snap you out of it. Dark Armed Dragon, attack Yusei directly! Feel the power of Death Punisher!”
The dragon’s hand became cloaked in a black mist. It reached out towards Yusei’s D-Wheel. It growled, breaking off Yusei’s train of thought. He stared at the hand and pulled his D-Wheel to the right, barely dodging the force of the impact of the hand striking the growled.
“Mission accomplished,” said Drake as Yusei’s Life Points fell.
[Drake: 2100LP, 3SPC] [Yusei: 5200LP, 3SPC]
“My turn!” called Yusei. “I summon Thunder Shieldog!”
A small blue dog with a tiny shield strapped to its back appeared. The shield was light blue with a silver trim, with five black lightning bolts painted onto the item’s center. (700/1100/3)
“When Normal Summoned, Thunder Shieldog allows me to send up to five cards from the top of my deck to the Graveyard and gain a Faithful Counter for each one. I’ll use the effect to the fullest, sending five cards!”
As Yusei picked up the cards and slid them into his discard slot, the five lightning bolts on the dog’s shield turned gold.
“I can see how that might be useful with Lightsworns or something like that, but you just milled a sixth of your remaining cards!”
“You’ll see why soon enough. But for now, I’ll place my remaining two cards face down, ending my turn.”
Two vertical swirly card backings appeared, next to the D-Wheel for a second, and then vanished.
“As it’s my turn now, I’ll banish the D.D. Crow in my Graveyard to activate Dark Armed Dragon’s ability, destroying that stupid dog!”
A spiritual form of the crow appeared and was absorbed by the dragon, which once again shot a bolt of lightning in Yusei’s direction. However, this time, a bolt of blue and gold energy shot from the dog’s shield, intercepting the lightning. After the attacks died out, one of the gold lightning bolts on the shield returned to its original black color.
“By expending a Faithful Counter, I can negate a card’s destruction from a card effect.”
“Then I’ll just kill it the old fashioned way, also known as Death Punisher!”
The dragon reached forward as Yusei said, “Removing two counters negates any monster’s destruction from battle!”
The hand made contact with something, and there was an explosion, causing the monsters to become shrouded in smoke.
“What happened?” asked Drake, when he saw that Yusei’s Life Points had been untouched. “Even if you avoided destruction, you should have taken twenty-one hundred points of damage!” He then noticed his console was displaying Thunder Shieldog’s Faithful Counters at four. “And how did that thing survive without you getting rid of any counters?”
“The answer to both your questions is this.” Yusei took one of the Traps he had set out of his Disk and turned it around to show Drake.
“Scrap Iron Scarecrow? But that means…”
“Yep. The battle never happened. And now it gets re-set on the field!”
Yusei placed the card back into his Spell and Trap zone.
Yusei’s plotting something. Why else would he go through the trouble of doing all that? I’d better harden my defense…
“I set a card face down, ending my turn.”
“Then I’ll take mine!” yelled Yusei. He smiled when he saw what the card he had just drawn was. “It’s here! I summon Level Warrior!”
A man in a red bodysuit, a cape of the same color flying behind him, appeared. A single gold star with three gold dots below it decorated his red helmet, which two gold stars on the suit above his utility belt. (300/600/3)
“Is this supposed to impress me?”
“It might. You see, as I have two monsters of the same Level on the field, I can perform an Exceed Summon!”
“What? No way!”
“It seems that although you tried to stop the creation of them, you know very little about the Exceed Monsters. I overlay my Level three Thunder Shieldog and my Level three Level Warrior!”
The two monsters turned into yellow beams of light as a swirling red portal appeared in front of Yusei’s D-Wheel, sucking the monsters in.
“With these two monsters, I create the Overlay Network! Exceed Summon! Burn, Grenosaurus!”
A crimson dinosaur with some metal armor on various parts of its body appeared. It growled and spewed a jet of flame in Drake’s general direction. Two orbs of light floated around it. (2000/1900/Rnk3)
“So? He’s seven hundred points short!”
“Not for long! I activate my Trap card, Burning Fighting Spirit! Upon activation, this card equips to a monster of mine, like Grenosaurus!”
The dinosaur began to glow with a red aura.
“Now, if you have a monster with higher attack then this monster, my new card shall double my strength during the Damage Step! Grenosaurus, attack! Crimson rush!”
The beast was engulfed in flames and rocketed forward towards the dragon. (2000 – 4000/1900/Rnk3)
“I reveal my Trap card, Burden Booster! Now, when you attack, if you have more attack points than me, I can increase my monster’s score by its level times one hundred, and reduce yours by your level time one hundred!”
“I’ve got news for you, Drake. Exceed monster’s don’t have Levels, they have Ranks!”
“Oh, I know, and so did the Master. That’s why he made this card as a precaution! You see, this doesn’t just work on Levels, it takes Ranks into consideration as well, so you don’t feel left out. And by the way, half of the points you lose go to my monster as well.”
Dark Armed Dragon began to glow with a black aura (2800 - 3650/1000/7) and some of the flames surrounding Grenosaurus died out. (4000 – 3700/1900/Rnk3) However, Grenosaurus still managed to push through. Armed Dragon screeched, and then dissolved into grains of gold light.
“As the battle has ended, my card’s effect expires,” said Yusei. (3700 – 1700/1900/Rnk3) “And now, Grenosaurus’s effect will kick in. After destroying a monster, I detach an Overlay Unit to deal you one thousand points of effect damage! Crimson sear!”
One of the orbs of light flew into the dinosaur’s mouth. It bit down on it, and it shattered. Not a moment later, Grenosaurus let loose more fire, which struck Drake’s D-Wheel, which wobbled a bit.
“I end my turn.”
[Drake: 1050LP, 6SPC] [Yusei: 5200LP, 6SPC]
“And by doing so, my card wears off,” said Drake. “So your Grenosaurus goes back to its original strength.” (1700 – 2000/1900/Rnk3) “I must say, Yusei, these monsters are tougher than I expected, but that doesn’t matter. I’ll still beat them! My turn!”
Drake picked up a card and smiled slightly.
“I can now start my plan. First off is Speed Spell – Fast Recovery. This gives me two hundred points for every Speed Counter I have! So that’s fourteen hundred added to my Life Points. So, your attack effectively did nothing, as I have three hundred and fifty more points than when you hit me with that.”
Yusei glared at Drake.
“Now, when I have no monsters, and you do, Blackwing – Sirocco the Dawn can be Normal Summoned without a Release! Next up, when I control a Blackwing, Blackwing – Gale the Whirlwind can be Special Summoned, so come out, guys!”
The bird humanoid (2000/900/5) and small black bird (1300/400/3) appeared.
“Gale the Whirlwind can halve the attack and defense power of a monster every turn! Sonic rings!”
The small bird’s eyes turned red and invisible waves of energy struck Grenosaurus. (2000 – 1000/1900 – 950/Rnk3)
“Now, I’m tuning my Level five, Blackwing – Sirocco the Dawn to my Level three Tuner monster, Blackwing – Gale the Whirlwind!”
“What?” asked Yusei. “Dark End is in the Graveyard and Silverwind need three monsters. There’s nothing you can summon, unless… No! You didn’t!”
“Oh, but I did! Yes, Yusei, I took my father’s monster!”
The monsters flew into the sky, Gale turning into three green rings that encircled Sirroco, who was reduced to an orange framework containing five glowing white stars.
“I invoke the power of the darkest gales. Feathers scatter though the sky. A powerful shield, and incredible force, Synchro Summon! Stir up a whirlwind, Black-Winged Dragon!”
In a burst of black energy, Crow’s ace card descended, flapping its feathered wings. (2800/1600/8)
“I’ll now activate two copies of a card known as Speed Spell – Speed Energy. This card, when I have two or more Speed Counters, increases the attack of a monster on the field by two hundred per counter on Speed World. And since I played two, Black-Winged Dragon gains twenty-eight hundred!”
The dark dragon glowed with energy. (2800 – 5600/1600/8)
“Now I’m activating my Speed Spell – Half Seize. When I have three or more Speed Counters, this card cuts a monster on the field’s attack in half, and gives me the points lost to boost my Life. I select Grenosaurus.”
Energy flew out of the dinosaur and towards Drake. Yusei’s monster groaned as its strength was sapped. (1000 – 500/950/Rnk3)
“Since I have six or more Speed Counters, I can activate Speed Spell – Devastation Tornado, paying nine hundred Life Points to destroy all Spells and Traps you control!”
Yusei’s Traps appeared, and then shattered.
“Now, Black-Winged Dragon, attack Yusei’s Grenosaurus! Noble stream!”
The dragon fired a burst of red and black energy which utterly obliterated the dinosaur. Yusei cried out as his D-Wheel began to spin out of control. He quickly stabilized it and pulled it up next to Drake’s.
Why would Black-Winged Dragon obey Drake’s commands? wondered Yusei. Could it be that it wants to help Drake as well?
“Look how the tables have turned,” laughed Drake. “You barely hung on! I end my turn, and since I did, Speed Energy’s effect ends.” (5600 – 2800/1600/8)
[Drake: 2050LP, 7SPC] [Yusei: 100LP, 7SPC]
I have one chance to turn this around, but I need to draw that card. Yusei picked up a card off of his Deck. “Yes!” he exclaimed.
“What did you draw?” demanded Drake. “Whatever it is, it can’t beat me!”
“Wrong. I activate Speed Spell – Synchro Comeback, letting me Special Summon a Synchro from my Graveyard, as long as I pay Speed Counters equal to its level. So, Stardust Dragon, return now!”
The shining dragon appeared again, gliding over Yusei.
“Now I can banish a Synchro from my Extra Deck that’s the same level as the one I Summoned, so that I can draw a card. So good bye Junk Destroyer, hello bonus.”
Yusei pulled the card off his Deck and immediately placed it on his console.
“I’ll now summon Junk Synchron!”
The small orange robot tuner appeared. (1300/500/3)
“I use his effect. When he’s Normal Summoned, a Level two or lower monster can be revived. I milled Unicycular with my effect earlier. Return!”
A small red robotic unicycle with a face and exhaust pipes appeared. (100/100/1)
“I’ll tune them together…”
The monsters rose into the sky, turning into four glowing stars. There was a burst of light…
“And Synchro Summon this monster… Come, Armory Arm!”
The monster that appeared was an… arm. It was robotic, black, and had thin red fingers. (1800/1200/4)
“Armory Arm’s effect, once per turn it can equip onto a monster. Join with Stardust Dragon!”
The arm rose up and attached itself around the dragon’s lower arm.
“This gives it one thousand bonus points!”
The arm glowed, and Stardust Dragon followed suit as its power increased. (2500 – 3500/2000/8)
“Stardust Dragon, attack Black-Winged Dragon with Shooting Sonic!”
The dragon unleashed a blast of silver energy, which struck down the black dragon.
“Sorry, old friend…” murmured Yusei. “But this will let me carry out what you were trying to do.”
“I still have over one thousand Life Points left!” screamed Drake. “If I draw a Speed Spell next turn, you’re finished.”
“There won’t be a next turn! Armory Arm’s ability activates, dealing you damage equal to your monster’s attack points!”
Stardust Dragon raised its arm and stuck out its palm, which began to exert waves of silver energy. They struck Drake, who cried out.
[Drake: 0LP, 8SPC] [Yusei: 100LP, 0SPC]
“H- how did I lose?”
Drake’s D-Wheel began to shake as it spun out of control, smashing through the highway’s safety railing and plummeting into the water below.
“Drake!” yelled Yusei.

Next Time
As odd as this may sound, I consider this the end of “Arc 1” of this story. The way I planned it out is to have this short beginning arc, a second arc which will be the longest, and wrap things up in a short third arc. Arc 2 will also feature a redesign of the stat counters, and have them updated as soon as something happens, as well as chapters being anmed after cards.I might take a bit of a longer break before putting up the next chapter, so bear with me.
Lost in darkness, Drake wanders around, only to find a gateway. However, in order to pass…
