For those who also saw Thor and this, you can kind of see the connections to both films

For Thor: at the beginning of the film (like opening 5 min), the story begins in 965 AD, where Odin was leading the Asgardian army against the Frost Giants. This battle had happened in Tonsberg, Norway.

In 1942 AD, the Red Skull had invaded a castle, which also happened to be located in Tonsberg, Norway. It was here that the Tesseract was found, claimed to be the prize jewel of Odin's treasures.

Near the end of the film we saw the Tesseract fall to the Earth after the Red Skull was defeated, but recovered.

In the post credits scene of Thor, Nick Fury invited Dr. Selvig to a SHIELD facility, where he showed him a glowing blue cube, stating that it has near infinite energy, if there's just a way to harness it.

I'd say it's pretty clear that glowing blue cube at the end of Thor is the Tesseract Cube shown in Captain America

I'm wondering what's up with the movie's title itself. Captain America is not the first avenger, so why call it that?

Not 100% into comics but I know Cap is one of the founding members of the Avengers and being from the 1940s he should be older then all of the other main members. As such he is the first avenger.

Anyway, saw it in normal and in 3D. 3D was just an easy way to get $4 since it hardly added anything.

Anyway (i like that word) movie was great. Characters were interesting. The action was good. Had some funny moments. Over all one of the better movies I've seen this year.

But you're wrong. He wasn't one of the founding members. The Avengers was already formed when they found Captain America. He was frozen in an iceberg which kept him at his young age. He joined the already formed Avengers. He wasn't the first.

Ok. The point still remain though that from a historical perspective we was the first hero that would later carry the "Avengers" title. That is unless their is a major hero on the team that is older then Cap.

I'm pretty sure that would be the arc reactor in Iron Man made my Howard Stark, right?

Although I wonder if the cube was inside the arc reactor and was destroyed with it, was somehow used up to make the arc reactor, or if the cube is still around, locked up in a SHIELD vault or something.

Granted, the question only arises if that was really for what it was used.

All seriousness aside, I found it hilarious how his costume from the comics is what he used in all those shows. XP

And at the beginning when he was chasing the guy who threw that kid in the water, for once the kid could swim and didn't have to be saved, which would've let the bad guy get away.

that initial costume was a joke, he looked NOTHING like a hero, just some actor.

th ending was sick.

S.H.E.I.L.D guy: "is something wrong?"
Rogers: "nah, its, just... i had a date."
XD but it was also sad, because she's probably dead and he'll never have that dance...
[/quote]

Oh I don't consider that the ending. The post credits scene, THAT'S the ending for me
