This is your basic Yu-Gi-Oh! Rp. Except with no defined plot. Well, kind of. You see, this is Zero City, a city that has been in a state of anarchy for over a century. And it isn't going to change. Countless people have tried to civilize this society, but it hasn't worked. The city is actually a flourishing community, and the people who live here believe give a sole person or group of people power would put all the pressure of maintaining this beautiful city onto the shoulders of someone who can't handle it. With no government, the people of Zero City spend no time waiting to get what they need. Instead, they do it themselves.

So this is a life RP, I suppose. You are a duelist who lives in Zero City, or a traveler who is new to the civilization.

....That's pretty much it.

*Character Name: Ivan Alchnost'
*Age: 47
*Gender: Male
*Personality: Ivan exudes a jolly aura. He is friendly, but tends not to know his own strength. He has a tendency to topple people over when giving them a "pat on the back," of suffocating them when giving a hug. He is great with children; they look up to him like Santa Claus. He often laughs loudly, and is terrible at sneaking around. When he's angry, he screams unintelligibly and begins smashing things recklessly. But he doesn't get angry often, fortunately. His IQ can sometimes seem a bit low and easy to outsmart, but he often makes smart decisions, and is really smart. It is known that he has a slight mental disorder, making it harder for him to learn. He has mostly overcome that by writing things down, but he often forgets to. He often is known for lapsing into Russian.
*History: Ivan was born in Zero City. He had a slight mental disorder, which caused him to learn slower than other individuals his age. To make up for it, his parents would always give him the best stuff. He worked out rarely, but was able to get stronger by simply smashing things, which happened whenever he got angry. As a child, Ivan was always an outcast. None of the children wanted to play with him, because of him being prone to dangerous fits. Especially if things didn't go his way. Because of this, the only people he had to learn from were his family. However, they weren't there all the time; both parents were in a failed activist group, and little Ivan was left with an old nanny, who never did much.
By the time Ivan grew up, he had learned to control his emotion, and also to get what he wants. He improved upon the deck he was given as a child, and managed to nearly perfect it. He then took his parents' house after they passed away, and built his own custom Duel Runner.

*Duelist Title: Lonely Dragonfly
*Character Name: Aiya Sakeru
*Age: 17
*Gender: Female
*Personality: Aiya is incredibly shy and has very little self-confidence, as such she will often blame herself when things go wrong (even if it's not her fault) and can become incredibly paranoid. She's friendly but easily upset or scared. If she gets to know someone better she can warm up to them, and even seem somewhat overhyped at times, especially if it concerns anything she likes. She's a bit of a geek and loves video games, RPGs and also certain trading card games, though she tends not to bring this up in public. She grew up watching a lot of cartoons and has a great love for the 'magical girl' genre, her favourites being the ‘Nanoha’ series, ‘Mai-Hime/Otome’, ‘Sailor Moon’, ‘Princess Tutu’, ‘Tokyo Mew Mew’ and ‘Madoka Magica’. During duels Aiya is even more shy and under confident than usual and is easily intimidated by her opponents, especially if she's never faced them before. However this can turn on its head and Aiya can become overconfident if she happens to be winning a fight, often causing her to let her guard down. This will cause her to become even more under confident than before should this result in her opponent gaining the upper hand.
*History: Aiya and her family often move around because of her father's job, meaning Aiya has rarely been anywhere long enough to make many friends (hence her shyness), leading her to stop most attempts at socializing altogether. Instead of making friends, Aiya spent most of her time playing games and watching cartoons. She eventually became interested in duel monsters and developed a strong attachment to her cards after receiving her first set of cards on her 5th birthday and eventually created a deck based around monsters similar to her favourite cartoon heroes. She and her family recently moved to Zero City since that’s where Aiya’s father’s job took them next. Aiya also has recurring nightmares of being lost in a forest by herself, caused by a traumatic incident when she was a child of being lost in an actual forest while she and her family where out camping. Aiya remembers little about the incident and doesn't care to remember in the first place.

*Duelist Title: The White Mask
*Character Name: Hatsune "Hatsu" Takamoto
*Age: 17
*Gender: Male
*Personality: Hatsune is a man with a strong but personal sense of Justice. Right and Wrong are not two words he'd use often. When without his mask, Hatsune can be seen as a normal high-school boy who lives by himself in an apartment. He'll appear too be strongly self-dependent and yet very nice. He will ressist trying to make friends as he normally has too leave them behind. When behind his mask, Hatsune is often very quite and will only respond to titles such as "The Duelist of the White mask" or simply put "The White mask". He won't hessitate to stand up for the weak or destroy those who uses their strength and power to dominate for their own gain. With or without his mask, Hatsune preffers too be independant and strives too maintain his own honor. If he is stuck and forced to lean upon another for assistance, he will then try his best to immeadiately resolve this dept. However, he believes in himself too the point of almost stepping the line of Over-confidence. He'll know and admit when he's out-matched or beaten or if he must rely upon another. The mask being a whole different face and a wall to lean upon and use this defence and newly found way to complete his wish of protecting the weak, can eventually be seen as a whole different person than the man behind it.
*History: Hatsune's deck comes from his younger brother Shugi Takamoto. Shugi grew too be a famous duelist and evenutally called upon it as a wish come true. It was always his dream to duel in massive tornaments and win difficult matches against the best. His happiness actually dragged Hatusne into playing. Shugi didn't need to wait long before Hatsune understood the game well and often followed his brother too these matches. Although Shugi never beat more than a few Big-time duelists, his name was well known and he quickly grew popular. Shugi was challenged too a duel by a mysterious man. Winning this duel drove this mysterious man into a violent fit, sending his goons out upon the Takamoto residence. In a hectic and destructive attack upon the house-hold. Hatsune was the only survivor. With a dust-cloud of Hysteria and hate, Hatsune took the family's samurai sword, his mother's beloved white mask, and his littler brother's famed dueling deck as he fled from the house. A few days later, a White masked duelist challenged that mysterious man too a duel. When he lost, the man was killed along with his gang members. This Act of murder was completely forgotten as the white masked duelist quickly began to be rumored to be sighted carrying out acts of justice against big mob-leaders or protecting people from things they did not deserve. Hatsune's family massacure was also completely forgotten as a thorough investigation never took place. He strongly misses his little brother most.

*Character Name: Kutafis Katashi
*Age: 29
*Gender: Male
*Personality: Kutafis thinks of himself as a natural born leader. He likes to spend time solving logic based puzzles, which is why he carries around a laptop everywhere he goes. He also likes to play Acoustic Guitars, and sometimes will sing along with a few of his favorite melodies. When in a more serious, and less whimsical situation, he holds himself in relatively high regards. He doesn’t believe it to be pride, but he does get a little bit overconfident at times. Even if he does, he still doesn’t let his guard down. Given the choice, however, he would prefer a quiet life of peace, rather than the life he lives now. He spent his life trusting just about no one, so he prefers to burn his bridges before they’re built, and keep himself out of contact with people.
*History: Kutafis, as a child, lived with his younger brother. His father had left his mother when Kutafis’ brother was conceived, and his mother had died in child birth, when Kutafis was 13. Kutafis got his natural leadership skills from all the years he spent protecting his brother. Kutafis essentially lived for his brother, and taught him everything he could. During a very long series of events that are completely unrelated to this Role Play (And as such, will not be explained, since they have no story relevance and will not be mentioned), Kutafis became separated from his brother at the age of 20. Kutafis, in hopes of finding his brother, began travelling where ever he could go, looking for his sibling. After four long years, Kutafis found his brother, but quickly began his travelling again. His brother followed him for about two years, making Kutafis 26, when Kutafis’ brother left for a journey of his own. Kutafis continued travelling, again, and ended up in Zero City, of course.

He believes that if he can't achieve something by himself then he doesn't deserve it. He is rather tolerable of those who engage in purely casual conversation but if he feels someone is trying to reach out to him he will act cold-hearted and do his best to shut them out and keep them out. He does have a soft-spot, however, for the weak. He believes that no matter who they are, if they are in danger then it is his duty to aid them, he believes it is the only way he can repay his debt (explained in history). He is easily irritated, and isn't afraid to challenge anyone to a duel and never backs down from a challenge. [152 words]
*History: Born and raised in Zero City by his parents in the "bad" area of the city. His parents were poor and couldn't afford a nice place to live, and thus they had to settle for the backstreet flats that many in the city would rather suicide over. However, his parents prioritised in raising Kariya to become a natural fighter, being brought up in such a violent and dangerous neighbourhood aided him on his priorities to defend himself in life, and is what gave him the mindset of doing everything alone. One day, however, Kariya overlooked his own safety for some harmless fun, which soon got him in a lot of trouble. He was surrounded by gang members and figured that he was dead from that point on. However, a mysterious, caped figure came to his aid and defeated every last one of the gang members. Since that day Kariya devoted himself to repaying the debt. Without the mysterious figure he wouldn't be alive. [163 words]

*Duelist Title: Frost Countess
*Character Name: Shayla Sharp
*Age: 18
*Gender: Female
*Personality: Shayla is alluring, quick-witted and flirtatious; one could say that she is like a ladette, except much more dignified and self-controlling. She lives for fun and pleasure alone, and hates having to do anything serious. She generally functions from a selfish point of view, and often does not understand/chooses to ignore other people’s intentions; to Shayla, everything has to be about herself.

Having said that, she is socially capable, and she is head-strong and determined. She hates it when people try to make decisions for her, particularly as she’s not the easily forgiving type; make an enemy of Shayla, and you’re in trouble.

She doesn’t get personal with people either, and although she makes do with several friends at a time, she’s careful to never get too close to them. The reason for her secrecy is that she’s cynical and somewhat prejudiced; she distrusts the world in general, and prefers to socialise with the rich, wealthy and the snobbish.
*History: Shayla comes from a rich background; her father is descended from a formerly aristocratic family who were baronets to the title of Count and Countess, until they were disgraced and had their title, but not their wealth, removed. As the only daughter of one branch of such a family, Shayla was brought up with a lot of attention and care, although with the death of her mother at ten, she speedily matured and was fast at developing her independence over the next few years.

When Shayla was fourteen, she was consensually sent to a prestigious, independent duel academy; it was there that she first got a taste for flirting with boys, and her personality began to really develop during those years. Her results remained consistently average, but she surprised everyone when she began to move ranks in her second year; co-incidentally, the boys she duelled and won against had been rumoured to have had a bit of a fling with her prior to the duel. Not that the rumours stood – Shayla was quick to quash them, and people gradually learnt to never spread a bad word about her.

When she left the school four years later, at the present age of 18, Shayla decided that it was about time she started moving into the world, and after a brief return to her parents’ house, she was soon given her own manor, and has since lead an independent life. Nowadays, she spends her time socialising, duelling and continuing to be flirtatious, in hopes of finding a boyfriend.

*Hair Style: Often leaves it untouched; if she has to tie it up, she will tie it up in a bun
*Eye Color: Mauve
*Other Distinguishing Features: She has a fairly shrewd-looking face, and she rarely ever drops her eyes; on the contrary, she keeps them as alert as possible
*General Clothing Choice: Shayla generally wears a black ankle-length, fully sleeved dress with a mermaid silhouette. The bodice of her dress covers most of her bossom. Her sleeves are attached to the dress, and the hem of the sleeves finish as a pair of fingerless gloves. She has a silver belt slung diagonally across her waist, and on that belt is a hook, which she uses to hang her small handbag when she's duelling and therefore has no need for her deck holder, and vice versa. On her feet, she wears a pair of black tights and grey ankle boots with a 3-inch heel.

Sounds cool!

Couple of Questions.

1. Example of Duelist Title?
Like "King of Games" for Yugi, "The Biggest Ego Ever" for Seto Kaiba, "Kuriboh-haired slacker" for Jaden, etc. Pretty much a short 5 or less words that can describe your character.
[s]2. Can we use Customs?[/s] Ok, we can...

3. If we can use Customs, my decklist(s) contain from 70-100 cards, do I need to post all of them?
You can only have 60 cards in a deck. Also, you can just link the card to the image, like so:

This looks promising so here's my app. Lemme know if anything's wrong. Also do we need to link to our custom cards in our decklist?

*General Clothing Choice: Aiya wears a dark red T-shirt and skirt underneath a red denim jacket, the T-shirt has a sun-like symbol slightly off-center to the right. She also wears a pair of red, fingerless elbow length gloves and knee high boots.

Sola + Luna + Morphing Jar = TROLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOBroken
Fortunately, your character isn't, and won't run Morphing Jar, but keep that in mind.

Katara's ATK can get obscenely high for a Level 4, especially with the other members sending Spells to the Grave all the time.

Stella is, in all essence, a monster Pot, and can easily become much higher than a +1. Needs a Once per turn.

Rainbow Union: I assume you're Special Summoning her from the hand? Because it doesn't state in the card where it comes from.

Spell Knight Whynd's bouncing effect can cause infinite replays. Needs "after damage calulation." OR "at the End of the Battle Phase."

Your Personality and History are below 125 and 150 words, respectively, and your decklist is a sloppy mess of card names.

DENIED

And get Deus Ex Machina out. It's 2 1/2 Pot of Greeds, which is a +4 card.

EDIT: Added new rules! They don't really apply to anyone who's already applied, but read up on them anyway.

*Duelist Title: The Lunar Eclipse

*Skin Tone: Fair
*Hair Color: Auburn
*Hair Length: Waist-length

Interestingly, the button looks like a Spell Counter that can be seen on the artwork of Endymion, the Master Magician.

Other: Shayla doesn't use a Duel Runner, as she considers it a 'waste of time and resources'.
