(One Piece is on par with bleach and Naruto) But I can't really recommend anything without knowing what you like. Action? Adventure? Drama? Romance? Political? Funny? Psycological? (NGE FTW!) "You are (not) alone" and "You can (not) advance". You should watch the TV series first thought, its very psychological and outside the norm. Shinji is NOT your typical shonen hero.
