Well that's just dandily. But how would she know more about it than what you could find on Google?

In other news, a random thought hit me that probably won't amount to anything more, but I feel like proposing it.
Maybe AN (yknow, this club) should do some sort of monthly event where once a month we all watch an anime based on a theme and talk about it each episode (like an episode a day or something). I've seen this on another site and it gets people to sample some good animes. One marathon centered around music-themed animes, others were horror-themed, yaoi/yuri-themed, etc.

Some other people band together to watch shitty animes and make fun of them like Popee the Performer or Seikon no Qwaser and they apparently have a lot of fun joking around and dumping on them.
Desu, we should've watched BAPGG together, that'd be lulzy.

I've got to say I love that idea, Denver.

And I've already seen BAPGG. What sh*t. But honestly I kind of liked the part where she unmasked him and for a second they made you think she recognized him but he had another mask.

Should we get Skype chats going to watch this crap?

._. It's not a secret, I already knew about K.

I've got to say it is an interesting idea. I like it too.

Actually if it happens and when we do the music theme (But I don't want it to be right away!) I can watch the second season of K-On! Even though I already watched the first ep of it. It's not too much to remember and I can just check an episode thread if I need to. :P

Well obviously if it's on youtube it isn't. Just saying I wasn't supposed to spread it around and make it more known or talk about it.

Cool. :3
I'll probably edit the first post and put in that event on Sunday. Just the gist of it though.

I will be down for those as soon as I get my new Macbook Pro, should be sometime next week if my luck holds out.
Sounds good.

BAPGG remains the worst anime I've seen to date.
And I've seen 6 episodes of Mermaid Melody.
I don't know, man. I've seen Lucky Star. But I guess it's probably because I expected Lucky Star to be good and afterwards thought it was bad while with BAPGG I expected it to be even worse than it really was. Still absolute garbage and hard to watch though.

Eh, Lucky Star's like fine wine. You need an acquired taste to properly enjoy it.
Or it's cheap wine that can only be stomached by the hardiest of viewers, whichever metaphor you prefer.

Actually, I think the same could be said for Evangelion.
I kind of think it's overrated, but maybe I'm too simple to really appreciate its subtext, themes, psychosis and whatnot.

No, it can be pretty dull a good chunk of the time. I don't really blame you.
I don't remember trying much of anything like it before trying and liking it.

I watched Code Geass before then, though, and that Lelouch manga thing was funny.

I could have gotten me used to so much references and parodies for a few other anime, though. And something else like how Acchi Kocchi is apparently a clone of it but I say it's like a combination of Lucky Star and Kill Me Baby because of how violent it is.

Probably never going to try Evangelion, though...

Yes. Now will we want to start off by watching a good or bad anime?

Oh, well good that I'm not the only one who thinks so. I heard the movies were pretty good though and they changed a lot apparently, so I'm gonna revisit the franchise once all 4 are out (3rd was just released I think).

The first anime I ever "tried" was Code Geass, never having heard of it before lots of people recommended it. Obviously was not disappointed and that pretty much led me to watching anime as a hobby.

Yeah, the mangas were meh...Nightmare of Nunnally was an interesting AU though.
Probably never going to try Evangelion, though...
I mean, it's one of those staples people say most anime fans should at least check out, but I don't think it's your type of anime anyways, so no point wasting your time.

Possible ideas:

Studio Ghibl movies. Everyone loves those magical wonders.

Anime based on music, examples being Kids on the Slope, K-ON, Beck Mongolian Squad, that stuff.

Anime with mysteries, stuff with detectives, thieves, murders, etc like Detective Conan (though not as long)

Rom/Com anime, stuff like Toradora,Clannad, etc.

Anime from a certain studio like MADHOUSE, JC Staff, Bones, etc.
Or whatever else you can think of, though I think whatever we do watch should be something none of us have seen before.

I still need to watch those. I want to but I think I'll probably ask Raine about that stuff. I got through one but then giant naked people and I was out.

I would, I only managed Arrietty so far but it would be awesome to watch more.

Like I said, I may as well use that to watch K-On!! <- Season 2

Anime with mysteries, stuff with detectives, thieves, murders, etc like Detective Conan (though not as long)

Yeah, as long as it's not that long.

Hayate season 2, Index and Railgun were from JC Staff, anything I watched of them I did enjoy a LOT. Dunno about any other studio right now. Except KyoAni. They would also be good.
